On the Grid : Lenox Coffee

"This modern rustic spot is known for their delicious pastries and coffee. Lenox Coffee is always packed but welcoming. Grab yourself a spot in the corner and cozy up over a hot cup of Joe in the winter or cool down over an iced-chai in the summer." - Tracy Zhang

Where To Work With Wifi Outside In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"It’s important to surround yourself with talented people. It applies to building a company, organizing study groups when you didn’t do the reading, and running a great cafe. Lenox Coffee is proof of the latter, offering snacks from Colson Patisserie, Davidovitch, and The Good Batch, as well as milk from Battenkill Farms. This Harlem coffee shop carries its own weight as well, roasting its own beans and baking its own bread and bagels daily. Enjoy all of it while working on the outdoor patio from 7am during the week or 8am on weekends." - matt tervooren

We were in the Lenox area on a driving trip exploring the towns and historic sites. In Lenox, we walked around a lot. One day after a great lunch at Haven, we walked a few blocks and found Lenox Coffee. It is in an old house on an interior street. Quiet area. Small place with a few tables outside on the porch and a few more tables inside. Friendly staff and a very nice vibe. We got an Americano and it was made perfectly. Most customers were working on their computers. Highly recommended.

I just stopped in for a cold drink and snack. The Lime Cranberry Iced Tea and oatmeal raisin cookie 🍪 hit the spot. The Beatles played over the speakers 🔊 quietly and I just purchased a book 📖 about George Harrison! Conversations can get loud and bounce off the walls. The bathroom was in good shape. Seasonal outdoor seating available. Nice little cafe.

Amazing coffee & delicious pastries. Totally recommend the ginger molasses cookie! Outdoor & indoor dining are available, which is so perfect for any season.

One of the best coffee’s my girlfriend and I have ever had. The staff are extremely helpful and sweet. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back.

Stopped by Lenox Coffee and really enjoyed it. The coffee was affordable, great quality, and my latte was so good. Definitely planning to come back next time I’m in the area.

Google
Small local coffeeshop that serves coffee brewed from micro-roasted, fresh single origin beans. There is a wide range of cold and hot coffee beverages available. I very much enjoyed my light roast coffee brewed from Colombian beans. The prices in this coffeeshop are noticeably lower than similar top quality coffeeshops across New England.

Have been frequenting the location to get my regular decaffeinated Americano and Jasmine Tea for a very long time. This is my only go to Coffee place when I am in town. The atmosphere is sweet, clean, professional and literary. I love to donate all my travel reading material whenever I am in town as the ambiance both inside and outside are pretty and relaxing to read while sipping your favorite drink. I do not care for sugary pastries options and prefer savory bites hence cannot comment. I hope they start keeping savory scones vs. sweet scones. Regardless, I stop by for the coffee and not the pastries. Most importantly, the beans are not very acidic hence it is always a very positive experience and the barista does her/his best.

Google
Amazing ice mocha! And I truly felt like a local while I lived there. Everyone who works there engaged in friendly, genuine conversation and knew me by name. Thank you all! Hopefully I’ll be back next summer!

Yelp
I am a native Washingtonian from Seattle. Washington has a huge cafe culture, filled with local coffee shops, drive-thru coffee, & also known for Starbucks (I don't drink Starbucks) besides the fact. I had very high expectations trying my first coffee beverage in Massachusetts. As Massachusetts also has a huge coffee culture :) My husband and I are visiting family just 45 minutes from Lee. Lenox happens to be the nearest cafe while we were in the area. It's a very small cafe, with pretty tight seating but the ambiance was settling and the baristas were very friendly! I ordered a Mocha and my husband had a cappuccino. Lenox's coffee is very tasteful, with a bold flavor and smooth texture. My mocha tasted like dark mocha. I am not a huge coffee milk person. I did have it with milk and still the coffee did not disappoint. Thanks Lenox for the amazing experience. You have wonderfully crafted staff here! I'd love to come back again.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe located in the heart of Lenox. I ordered two large iced coffees and a blueberry scone, all to share with my dad and I. He considers himself somewhat of a scone afficidendo.. which must run in the family because I consider myself one too. So now that our snone authority has been established, I'm excited to declare that we LOVED it! It was the perfect comfo of being moist, tender and flaky. The iced coffee washed it down perfectly too. The service at the counter was jovial, the napkins were a plenty, and the straws weren't the kind that dissolve in your drink after 5 minutes. My kind of place!

Yelp
Made this a pit stop on a long run in the area and was not disappointed! Delicious coffee & pastries. Plenty of seating.

Yelp
Lenox Coffee is one of the few places in Lenox that is open every day and has Wi-Fi. The WiFi is solid with plenty of outlets so it's a great spot to get some work done. I came here almost every other day during my stay in Lenox. Service and drinks are consistently great. Pastries are also pretty good - I especially like the lemon scone

Yelp
They have the best lattes in town. The espresso is smooth and bold tasting. Morning glory muffins are delish.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
Small cafe, don't get the chai! Idk if it's the chai or the espresso it was horrible, I ordered a dirty chai (2shots of espresso). I used almond milk (which I always do) it was very watered down tasting. My sisters also had their chai lattes. The hot chocolate my mom got was the best thing we got!
google avatar

Gretchen B.

Yelp
They make a great iced latte! There was not much in the way of things to eat in the pastry case (3 items...a cider donut, a croissant or a scone--maybe I hit it at the wrong time and there were other things earlier?) I had a currant scone. It was fine. If you're looking for a caffeine hit, this place has some great coffee/espresso drinks. Worth a stop to get your caffeine fix.

Yelp
I came here with my family on a trip to visit my grandparents in The Berkshires. They didn't have any dairy and gluten-free options, although they had gluten-free options and dairy-free options. They also didn't have a big selection of dairy-free milk available in the fridge. The employee at the register was friendly and pretty cool and the large decaf almond milk latte was pretty good. I would definitely come back again because the coffee was delicious.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
I had a maple latte, and my daughter had the hot chocolate. They even put a fancy design on top of hers! Both were delicious. Great service. I would highly recommend.
google avatar

Robert G.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the cafe latte and chai latte and both were delicious. We got ours to go but I would recommend having it there because their coffee cups seemed larger than their to go cups and they create cool designs in their hot coffees.
google avatar

Jeanie N.

Yelp
Consistently delicious coffee! Went to this coffee shop 1-2x per day, every day I was in the area. Their default milk used is whole milk, so I highly recommend the cappuccino or latte :) They have a daily drip that rotates, so you can ask about it too. The staff is super friendly. Great COVID measures - you order from one window and pick up from another. Ordering and paying was completely contactless. You can view their pastries from the window where you order. Everyone was safe and very mindful of keeping their distance in my experience. A few tables and seating immediately outside the shop. There's a cute park across the street too. Ample parking!

Alex A.

Yelp
Friendly cashier, comforting environment and great food. Though they had a small menu of pastries and coffee options, the vanilla coffee was refreshing.

Yelp
Creamy latte with wifi. What's not to love. Comfortable inside in a cold morning made this a great place to stop in for a while
google avatar

Arthur G.

Yelp
Even on an excruciatingly hot summer day, there is nothing more refreshing than an iced latte from Lenox Coffee. Their barristers are friendly and their coffee is tasty. They have a cozy seating area where it would appear that some of their customers have moved in and might be camping out until the temperature cools. The cafe has exceptional air conditioning and the staff seems to feel that everyone is welcome to just hang out.
google avatar

Faith B.

Yelp
A really cute space to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Stopped in to use the restroom and got an iced coffee. The employees didn't really seem engaged but were helpful when I asked questions. There isn't really a menu posted so I was sure what I could potentially order so I played it safe. The iced coffee was a little bitter for my liking, not sure how fresh it was. The pastries did look good, but I wasn't too hungry. Not my favorite coffee shop I've visited, but willing to give it another shot if I find myself in town again.
google avatar

Kambiz K.

Yelp
The chai wasn't fresh. It was sold to us under the auspices that we'd get a fresh chai tea bag. But I was there as it was being made. It was a syrup that was poured into hot water. I wish it was accurately described to us. Unlike the chai, my mocha latte was well made, however. I even got that fancy milk pour. I don't have a problem with that. All in all it's a beautiful coffee shop tucked in the village of Lenox. It was hard to find. It was a expensive for the chai. Stick to the coffee and you will have a better experience.
google avatar

Eunice C.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop on main street. Cashier was super nice. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Sat outdoors under the umbrellas for an afternoon coffee.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
They didn't have many options. The staff was friendly and quick. If you're looking for something fast and straightforward, this is the place. If you're looking for variety in your tea/coffee/drink orders, I suggest going elsewhere.

Yelp
Is great & well run. There is one review, sadly, 100% false from Jeanette T. Williamsburg, MA She was witnessed, refusing to wear a mask & started screaming at the young worker who handled it very well. No mask, no service. Not a hoax, virus is real. The entire review is a made up story & the workers and the owner are all very kind, good folks who have been running a well loved business for over 27 years. Hopefully this person stays in Williamsburg, MA and I feel bad for the folks in her area that have to deal with this extremely disturbing behavior. Sad to see her scream at a young woman just doing her job, the entitled folks are a sad lot for sure, all about her and not the safety of others. Highly recommend Lenox Coffee, 30 years of military travels and this is the best coffee & nicest staff & owner anywhere :-)

Yelp
They do a great job with the taste And aesthetics of the coffee. Courteous people and quaint shop.
google avatar

McQueen A.

Yelp
A. The staff is smart, fun, interesting, and all really great people. B. The people who are giving this place bad reviews are RIDICULOUS and ENTITLED. C. They make the chai and it is awesome. D. The coffee is next level. E. Come for the donuts on Sunday at 9:30. F. WEAR A MASK!!!! G. If you don't want to wear a mask or want to call people names look me up and I will meet you at Lenox Coffee and we can talk.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, super quick, never messed up my order! I came here while visiting for work to grab a coffee before taking a walk - the other shop in town wasn't open though the hours posted online said it should be, but I'm glad I found this shop instead. The espresso was pulled perfectly - nutty and creamy, the beans were not over-roasted or incorrectly pulled/ground. I ordered a latte with almond milk and a shot of vanilla a few of days in a row, and each time it was consistently good, service was quick, and it was never too hot or too cold. Definitely the preferred location.

Itzel S.

Yelp
It's cute and the order doesn't take long at all. Good place to drink and study or have a coffee date ;)

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Great vibe. Chess out front and great coffee inside. Friendly service. I had an iced latte.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
Oh, my goodness. The pastries! The sandwiches! The coffee! This place is first class.

Laurel B.

Yelp
Delicious cookies!! I asked for a 12oz chai latte and it was given to me in a 16oz cup, I think the barista thought she was being kind in giving me extra (thank you ) but unfortunately this caused my latte to be over milky and not very flavorful, I even added cinnamon, nutmeg and honey and it was still too milky!! I appreciate the service and cute ambiance of the facility but it's important to keep proportions accurate, speaking as a barista, myself.

Yelp
I have probably been here 100 times, on my frequent visits to the Berkshires. I really love Lenox Coffee. The coffee, both regular and espresso drinks, are always topnotch. They usually are brewing two kinds of espresso and 3 drip coffees. They only ever have a few pastries in the case, but if they have morning glory muffins, you should have one. It's also a lovely place to hang out, work, read, chat or daydream, either inside or out on their porch. They have wifi. Their bulletin board is the best around. The staff are on top of their game, and friendly in a reserved kind of way. Although I live 150 miles away, I am more attached to Lenox Coffee than to any cafe in my hometown.

Yelp
A warm Cinnamon Rose pastry from Lenox Coffee is as close to edible Heaven as it gets!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
I walked in at around 2 pm and they were almost out of food. It seems pointless to me to be open until 6 pm if you do not have enough food for the day. I asked if they plan on getting any more food and the gentleman stated that the store only stocks up in the morning. They said that later on in the summer they would stock more food. The other reviews gush about the food and drink but if they don't have any in the beginning of the summer on a warm sunny Sunday then it seems being open is partially pointless. I get the impression that you need to go early to Lenox coffee. Otherwise you might leave empty handed. Most peculiarly the staff didn't seem to think any of this was a big deal. They did suggest another place so I guess they were trying a little to be helpful.
google avatar

Bbq B.

Yelp
5 stars on the coffee only. Truly gourmet espresso that I would not have everyday but the occasional high end treat. I prefer only 3/4 of a shot as it's pretty intense coffee. They seem to be one of the few places in America that can steam milk with skill. Beans are so expensive they're not priced as a full pound. Other than that, my only complaint is the "tude". I know, getting up in the morning is tough.
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
Decent coffee shop in the heart of downtown Lenox. We got iced coffee and a cappuccino, both were decent. The sitting area is a bit small so be careful if you have a larger group, you can be pretty loud. The baristas here both seemed pretty quick and talented. Definitely a lot of regulars here who order the same drinks which is awesome and tells you a lot about the establishment. A nice spot to hang out on your laptop for a while or meet up with some friends and family. Definitely stop by for a drink.
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
This place to me is kind of the heart of Lenox. In non-COVID times I remember sitting in there with a coffee, seeing people with random instruments and scripts from plays chatting at the table over. In COVID times they're not allowing customers inside yet, but their outdoor space is so cozy. Even with no Tanglewood this year I still loved just getting a coffee from the window and chilling out at one of their tables. Love their coffee; sad that the Barrington Coffees in Boston are gone -- gotta come out here for it!
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Amazing place for a quick coffee and apple cider donuts!! Yummm!!!! We enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the people and area.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Lovely coffee and baked goods. Cute space. Really enjoyed the outdoor ambiance here. Quaint little neighborhood place
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Love that they serve Great Barrington coffee here. Always swing by when I'm in town. Friendliness of the staff is always hit or miss. But they always do a good job in a timely fashion.
google avatar

Jared D.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the secret is, but this is consistently the best coffee I've had anywhere in the world. Friendly staff, cute space with great outdoor seating. A real gem.
google avatar

Glenna S.

Yelp
Fairly good chai tea latte and cute little spot with alternative milks and local coffee. Hope to come back at my next visit to try their espresso drinks!
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
I live in town and used to frequent Lenox Coffee often. The coffee and pastries are very good and I always enjoy the space. What makes it a place I won't return to is the level of indifference and self-righteousness of the staff. I'm a bother to them and apparently don't approach the level of their highly evolved being to warrant any level of pleasantry. There are lots of places I can spend $3 on a cup of coffee...just not here any more.

Melissa H.

Yelp
The worst customer service EVER. I ordered two decaf iced coffees for my daughter and I. We got one decaf and the other with caffeine. Asked them to redo the order but the man at the counter said it was my fault because I didn't catch the mistake when they repeated the order back to me. Said I could order another one and that he would charge me. He was condescending and lacked any level of customer service. I had to throw the coffee away. Save your money and get coffee somewhere else.

Christopher T.

Yelp
Exquisite lattes but, alas dour employees Great outdoor seating. Many gluten-free items ADA compliant, for the most part
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Lenox coffee is a great coffeehouse in lenox massachusetts . Prices are super reasonable , nice atmosphere , and can make a good cup of joe . My only problem is that the pastry section.was lacking , but will come back again if i am in the area
google avatar

Gwen G.

Yelp
The best cappuccino I ever had here in Lenox. I have no other words to say but you got to try their cappuccino! I only ordered that and for the best cappuccino in town I am giving them 5 star!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Great place... the only negative is that they have a gluten free muffin that is sitting in with all the other wheat-based pastries. I didn't bother to ask if they were prepared and cooked separately. If you are gluten sensitive, maybe it's ok, but if you have celiac, it's not an option. Outstanding coffee selection though!
google avatar

Roberta W.

Yelp
Huge treat to get a beautiful cappuccino in a real cup, along with a delicious gluten free morning glory muffin.
google avatar

Joey D.

Yelp
Coffee was good quality. Not the best I've had but still had good flavor. The only issue I really had was that the lady at the register had a terrible attitude. That alone made me want to go elsewhere but like I said, if you're looking for a solid cup of coffee, this isn't a bad choice
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
Still open with excellent, strong coffee and nice ambience.
google avatar

Jo M.

Yelp
Bitter espresso. Pastries oily and rancid. Atmosphere's good. Never crowded. If you like Starbucks bitter coffee in a pleasant setting, this is not bad. The muffins and cinnamon rolls were inedible. The scones were decent. Not worth a trip for me.

Austin F.

Yelp
Best cappuccino in the Berkshires! Ryan has been serving up the best coffee drinks for many years and the rest of the staff is also experienced top notch Baristas. The atmosphere is laid back and vey Berkshires. My optimal experience is sitting outside during the warmer months and taking in the whole Lenox scene with a creamy cappuccino.
google avatar

Mark V.

Yelp
It was a cool but pleasant morning, just the right conditions for a nice cup of hot chocolate. So, we strolled over to Lenox Coffee in search for a nice gulp. When the cup popped up over the counter, I eagerly studied the elegant milk design on the top. Because of this work of art, trying not to spill any cocoa became my next tough objective. It was hard, since the cup was filled to the brim. But I made it to the table, taking my first sip. It was frothy at the top, just the way I like it, but the milk below the froth was not hot enough for my taste. Therefore, I'm reluctant to call it Hot Chocolate, only Warm Chocolate. However, after I had neared the bottom of the cup, the cocoa began to get warmer, ending with a final hot, tasty swallow.
