L'Entrecote - Le Relais de Venise

Food and service were impeccable. Their one main dish was delivered at steak doneness ordered. They brought me a second steak while I was distracted(and I am not complaining at all). The gravy is spectacular. Herbaceous, flavorful. The fries and the bread were perfect for mopping up the gravy. Salad was delicious.

I have been attending the Paris location for over 15 years and unlike that one there is not the hours of waiting to get in - if you are in CDMX you must go here its identical to the Paris location in terms of food quality but so warm and welcoming that only Mexico City can provide. The beef quality and amazing sauces are to be savored and paired with the best starter salad that is dressed to perfection. We also found surprising the amazing amount of Desserts they had to choose from. From rich sorbets, to decadent chocolate ones to a sky high tower of strawberry and merange that was equal part of crisp and warm berry goodness. Much Gracias, L’ Entrecote! We shall absolutely return.

Amazing dinner all around! It’s nice having to only make a few choices - drinks, how you want your steak, and dessert! We loved every bite and sip. Susannah was an excellent server. Highly recommend for a very nice and reasonably priced steak dinner in Polanco!

I’ve seen lots of recommendations about this place but can’t agree at all. It seems it’s a single time experience at best. The salad was forgettable. The meat was kinda dry, it needed more sauce and the fries had no salt at all. They give you two portions of meat and fries which might get you super filled. What I’d love it was the crème brûlée, it was super creamy! Maybe I’d back for the desserts and just that.

Despite the food being delicious, I am leaving one star because the service here is more than lacking. We ordered more than we anticipated because we were unaware the steak was served in two portions (they refill your plate once you are nearly done eating), and decided to take the extra cheese, bread and leftover steak to go. A senior waitress rudely informed us they do not have to-go boxes, to which I replied “How is that possible if you have an online menu?” She said the online menu is only for baguettes, but she would see what she could do. We flagged her down after a good time waiting and asked if she managed to figure something out. Her disposition towards us was condescending and outright rude. We suggested a bit of aluminum foil, and she let us know what a sacrifice and grand exception she was making on our behalf. When we arrived home, out of curiosity, I checked their menu on UberEats, and you can order fries, salad, and desserts, as well as the baguettes! They obviously have to-go containers. No reservation but we were able to get seated right away during the week. Expect a bunch of traffic getting there. The steak and frite was everything I could hope for. Highly recommend the chocolate cake!

Found a gem in Mexico City, you don’t have to go to Paris to have the famous steak and frites with their famous sauce. We came in on Sunday night and they had a lot of open tables but you should make reservations. They obviously only serve steak and frites and they’re masters of the dish, the meat was cooked to perfection and the fries crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They have a great selection of desserts and pastries. Friendly staff and nice place.
