The 14 Best Restaurants In Polanco

"This Paris-based French bistro with locations in London and New York keeps it simple with just one main dish for $25, and they nail it every time: a super tender, pre-sliced beef steak topped with a secret sauce full of strong notes of tarragon, dijon, and, of course, butter, and a side of fries. Between the red booths, white paper-covered tables, and French maid uniforms, this place screams Paris, and that’s part of the charm. The desserts are great, too, like their quintessentially Parisian chocolate profiteroles. If you feel like taking a stroll for something sweet, then head for churros at Churros el Moro, or a gelato at Amorino." - guillaume guevara

No reservation but we were able to get seated right away during the week. Expect a bunch of traffic getting there. The steak and frite was everything I could hope for. Highly recommend the chocolate cake!

Found a gem in Mexico City, you don’t have to go to Paris to have the famous steak and frites with their famous sauce. We came in on Sunday night and they had a lot of open tables but you should make reservations. They obviously only serve steak and frites and they’re masters of the dish, the meat was cooked to perfection and the fries crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They have a great selection of desserts and pastries. Friendly staff and nice place.

The food was good, mind you the steak is best medium, but the fries weren't good the first time around, the second time it was better. Service was ok, Michel was attentive but only if you asked. So generally the portions of mean are not much but delicious.

Actually 4.5 cuz iconic. i cannot give half stars. :( But for the place you get I think is fair. Its just something about the meat that is missing. The texture is off (i dont mean el término). But the gravy? Iconic and delicious. With the atmosphere, makes it super worthwhile. People complain about the tiny space among tables but i see it as a part of its charm. Also, the service was super nice and friendly from the moment I called to rsvp to the moment i went out. Guadalupe, si estás leyendo esto, le das mucha alegría al lugar. Muy agradable ser atendida por ti. (: but still, all the people there were suuuper nice. I course, 580/90 pesos and you have your meal. Xoxo ps. bread can also be nicer. Maybe softer and warmer. I get its not about the bread tho. AAA and fries, the ones that were a bit bland, a super match with the gravy. The other ones, were suuper fried.

I’m an American visiting Mexico City for the first time… I’ve been to the original L’Entrecote in Paris many times and was surprised to find a chain in CDMX. The restaurant was fairly packed with Polonco’s finest Primadonnas. The hostess had an available seat inside and was happy to accommodate the 2 of us at 6pm. The interiors esthetics and uniforms reminded us of how it was when we visited. The only English speaking server was the captain. She took our order and was nice to relay the message beside our designated server. We ordered our steak Medium Rare and ordered a cheese plate as well. The timing was fast, just like in Paris… Sat down for 5 minutes, placed our order, 5 minutes later the salad and cheese plate arrive and 15 minutes later entrees. The steak arrived black and blue in the center with a nice char around the edges (Rare). We asked the server to re-fire the steak via google translate. Instead of re-firing the entire order they re-cooked the steak and arrived medium well (light brown with a hint of pink in the middle). At that moment, we already knew the service was going downhill… First bite was atrocious. The famous “sauce” tasted more of a hot salsa verde with olive oil with a hint of mustard. The sauce was broken and could clearly see the separation in the sauce (not emulsified). We looked around the restaurant and everyone seemed like they were enjoying the experience, accept for us. Not sure if there was new staff in the kitchen or cooks making food of not “the standard”? They dropped off the dessert menu with only 4 desserts listed… My wife and I were disappointed because the one in Paris had an entire list of desserts to select from. We ended up choosing the chocolate cake (Relias). The table beside us happened to be ordering desserts as well and received a totally different menu (like the one in Paris). You can clearly see the menu because the tables are practically together with no separation. We asked our server and she denied not having that dessert menu available. So, we kindly asked the server to bring us the same dessert the table beside us was having =) Dinner came out to $90 Salad Cheese Plate Steak & Fries Food: 2 Stars - Would not recommend because the food isn’t the same Service: 1 Star - Language is definitely a barrier Atmosphere: 1 Star - Because of the clientele inside the restaurant… High nose/snooty locals who think their shit don’t stink

This has been my to-go place for anniversaries and treating myself. I love the traditional menu and I absolutely love the desserts. Fernanda was my last server and she was such a sweetheart, her dessert reco was 10/10.
