Had a wonderful French dining experience at L'Entrecôte The Steak & Fries Bistro. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, giving off a classic Parisian vibe—perfect for a relaxing dinner. The star of the night was definitely thier steak which tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Paired with their signature sauce and crispy golden fries, every bite was satisfying. You can really taste the quality, and for the portion and flavor, it's definitely worth every dollar. Highly recommended if you're craving authentic French cuisine with a great ambiance.

If you are missing France/Paris this is the place to go. Nice soothing French music, wine and food. Ordered the foie gras of course and was pleasantly surprised at the portion (ok it wasn’t cheap either) I love the caramelised onion jam that came with it. Next the European asparagus is so good! Hard to find such quality asparagus in SG. The flatbread bacon and salad was nice. Another reason we came here was for the wagyu buffet. But we could only down two portions (surprise to be one pax but we ordered two mains so they weren’t too particular about us sharing. But you can’t order one and share by two). Of course we had to have the signature dessert which takes 10-15mins to prep so order in advance. The oozing salted caramel chocolate with the iskrim was so divine. Definitely will come back. Total was about $140 (cos we didn’t order any wine). Pretty good for the quality.

We ordered the camembert cheese and the steak. Camembert cheese were nicely melted, paired very well with the bread and potato. The steak was on the harder and chewy side, did not really like the sauce. Used Eatigo discount, SGD 42 per person.

We are very lucky to have come on a rainy cool day. We entered the restaurant, it was so stuffy and hot. The air con is NOT working 🫣🫣. But lucky outdoor area was really lovely. With fan. Service staff is very friendly and attentive. Xall and ask about about aircon before you come. Bone Marrow and steak are delicious.

Jasmine saved the day. Ordered the onion soup and steak set (sirloin). The onion soup was great. Love the cheese in the soup. The medium rear steak that came out was not edible. The tendon in the meat was plenty and I had problems even cutting the piece of meat. Showed it to Jasmine and she immediately took action to replace the dish. This time, the steak was perfect with its secret sauce. Thank you Jasmine for saving my meal.

Had lunch with a friend on a weekday. Ambience was relaxed, casual with plenty of sunlight coming through the atrium overhead. Surprised to see only two mains on the menu. We had the entrecote steak and the sauce was good, as claimed, and gluten-free fries !! Also had the escargots baked with different herbs that you find in most restaurants. The meal came with salad and bread. We dived into the food immediately and forgot to take photos !! Until the beignets dessert ... To top it off, the service was excellent. Our server was genial and made our lunch experience a pleasant, relaxing one.... one small complaint though....restaurant was a tad too warm. We perspired during lunch. Aircon didn't seem to work too well.

L’Entrecôte at Duxton Hill delivers a satisfying steak experience that’s worth trying—especially if you’re in the mood for something indulgent. The steak itself was tasty and juicy, though the meat quality sits at about average. What makes the meal shine is the classic French pairing with a generous portion of golden, crispy fries. In fact, the fries came in such a large serving that we couldn’t finish them. The ambiance is charming and fitting for a Parisian bistro-style outing. While it’s not a place I’d frequent regularly, it’s perfect for a once-in-a-while treat when you’re craving a hearty, satisfying plate of steak-frites.

Use eatigo to get 50% off. Very good. Free French wine because of French National Day. Free bread and salad. Steak was Precut with nice cutting. Steak is tender. Can serve the dessert for the birthday also.

Yelp
We had no idea where to eat on our last night in Singapore and relied on some guys we met at a bar. So many restaurants close on Sunday nights. We weren't looking for French, but L'Entrecôte Bistro on Duxton Hill was open. It's basically 1 restaurant split into two next to each other but with different menus. We chose the Annex. The food was excellent. My Oven Baked Bone Marrow with Guérande sea salt and grilled buttered Poilâne bread satisfied my months long craving! I basically licked and sucked that bone LOL. A friend ordered sardines and it was served in its tin...very cute. I also ate 2 fresh shucked oysters from Ireland, then stuffed myself with a perfectly cooked medium rare entrecôte steak served wth French fries and walnut green salad. I don't recall the French wine we had, and they have a beautiful modern wine cellar to house their stock. Our waiters were nice and friendly. It was really a great, relaxing evening after so much hustle and bustle around Singapore.

Yelp
As a carnivore and french fries addict, this is my place to go to meet both cravings. You get a piece of beef which you select if you want Rare, medium rare or well done, they write the selection on the table and shortly you receive your meal. Salad with walnuts and dressing, then the beef and all you can eat fries. Everytime I have gone, they also serve a mini glass of the house wine. This Bistro also has dessert options and appetizers. We have tried their cheese appetizer, which was amazing (if you love cheese ^_^) If you have a craving for a simple yet fullfilling dish, stop by the restaurant in Tanjong Pagar. it is also on a cute cobblestone alley.

Yelp
We went to Duxton Hill wanting to go to Prawn Star which seems closed now, and ended up here. It is a nice 'French style' bistro type restaurant that serves French fare like cold cut and cheese platters, steak frites, mussels etc We had a cold Salmon platter and the steak & fries. The salmon portion was on the small side but ok, the steak frites was quite large, with the steak already cut in strips which was great for eating, and amazing fries to go with it. The sauce on the steak was good however I would've preferred it on the side as I like medium-rare with just a bit of salt best. The meat was ok but I have had better, especially for the price (32,50 S$), but that's S'pore. For dessert I chose a tarte tatin which would have scared a French person off as it was huge, with a tarte being normally flat, and the base was very heavy shortbread. It tasted nice though and the sour cream that came with it was perfect. Staff was very friendly and service oriented - we would come back to try their Saturday brunch, but not necessarily for dinner as it is rather expensive, in general, especially when there are so many great "local" places to explore.

Yelp
Average French bistro. We ordered their famous steak frites which was ok. The fries were quite good but the steak was pretty much uninspiring - something you may expect when you order steak from a general western restaurant not a place focused on its steak. We also ordered escargot which was also quite average... House red wine is ok. Overall, a bit pricey and not really worth it given the mediocrity of the food

Yelp
Dining in Duxton always make me feel like I am not in Singapore. No reservation, no frills, just good old steak plus fries. While it is not my favorite cut of steak (dry-aged filet mignon is my weakness), this is a decent piece of meat. Just do not come expecting the quality of a traditional NYC steakhouse. I still prefer my steak served simply medium rare, no sauce. Though the gravy is nice, I believe you do not need any bit of sauce on good meat.

Yelp
This is the kind of place for the lazy people who dont really like to be bothered with choosing your main course - there's only one main course here -- 2 portions of steak and fries! The only thing you might want to think about is - the doneness of your steak. :) For those who cannot resist the need to pick and choose, you have a selection of appetisers and desserts to choose from. Some signature to look out for, escargots for appetisers and the caramel cake with vanilla ice cream for desserts. The caramel cake is like the caramel version of the chocolate lava cake with the caramel oozing from the centre upon cutting. Great atmosphere, nice service. A fantastic hipster joint for those who have a few more dollars to spare. Would have been a five star if one could make reservations but you gotta queue for your tables! Guess that's part of the experience!

Yelp
Want to experience dining at cramped rustic Parisian bistro, this is the place to be. Le Entrecot packed its customers like sardines. Dining here doesn't allow you much privacy. The tables are so closed to each other, you can literally hear the next table's conversation. Well, one thing for sure. You don't have to think too hard what you want to eat for main as they only have 1 thing on the item and that is Steak and Frites. But with that said, you will have a tough time deciding what appetizers and desserts you would like to complete the meal cos there are too many selections to choose from.

Yelp
Despite the cramped atmosphere and the fact that the waiter literally has to pull the table away so you can step out to use the restroom, L'entrecote is a great place for what its best known for: Steak & Fries. Cooked to your liking and served in two portions with unlimited fries the steak is juicy, soft, and full of flavour. What makes L'entrecote different? THE SAUCE. Extremely delicious and simple, the sauce is the real treat here and I'm willing to bet will go with almost anything. I recommend ordering an extra side of it, there just never seems to be enough! The location is beautiful and very quiet, perfect for a romantic night out

Yelp
A classic example of the genre the steak and frites and sauce are absolutely delicious and I have a hard time choosing between the escargot and the onion soup for a starter and the cheese platter afterwards had me stuffed to the brim. I would eat here once a week if it was practical for me to do so. Delicious.

Yelp
A great place for steak and fries, highly recommended for a chill dinner with friends. It is located among the shophouses at the duxton area, so do keep an eye out or you might miss it. Inside, it has this unique ambiance which kinda feel like those french bistro. The staff were all warm and cheerful which I do really appreciate (it's becoming uncommon these days). The menu is simplistic, with some chouce of appetisers, desserts and beverages to go along and the steak and fries as the main highlight. I had the onion soup which was sweet and fragrant (liked it very much). The steak and fries were also great with great attention paid to the doneness of the steak. Most restaurants tend to serve the steak in one slab and that's it, leaving you with uneven doneness. Here, they took a different approach and instead separated it into 3 servings, ensuring perfect doneness as per requested and you would get warm food throughout the meal. The sauce was rich without being too overpowering. Perhaps it is also good to note that the fries are free-flow, though i found the initial serving was already very generous (But hey, fries is love fries is life). Overall, this is a highly recommended place for steaks if you happen to be in the area. An advice that i would give to fellow readers (and a suggestion to the restaurant perhaps) is to avoid coming in at peak dinner time since the place is really cramped and gets rather echoey when crowded.

Yelp
I waited here for 20 mins on a Friday evening at 8pm for a seat as they don't take reservations (major minus). I have to say I don't love the steak and fries, especially the half-rate sauce. Free flow fries don't appeal to me, because I don't love fries, and the first portion was way too much for me. The salad that came with the steak had a dressing that had too much vinegar for my taste. When it comes to my salad dressing, I guess less is more for me. So me and a girlfriend had: Homemade Duck Foie Gras Terrine Oven Baked Beef Marrow Steak and fries x 2 Profiteroles to share The terrine was horrible, and it was mostly butter, so avoid it if you come here. The beef marrow was out-of-this-world, and I wish they'd offer a jumbo portion of it. It's just beef bones cut into two with melting marrow inside, to spread on bread. Terribly sinful, but so simple, and so delicious. Our dessert - profiteroles, were drenched in chocolate syrup and ice cream; pretty standard fare and an easy combination that can't go wrong. Would I come here again? Probably not. It wasn't exactly cheap, and there are a few places that do steak better than this.

Yelp
Has only 1 main to choose from - a delectable steak and fries which they recommend you get in medium rare. Make sure you enjoy it with their secret sauce! You can choose your starters and desserts though - the escargots were quite tasty and I love the sauce it came with, went really well with the bread. Their signature dessert is a caramel lava cake of sorts which takes 15 mins to prepare but well worth the wait. Small place and can be a bit cramped and noisy when full, but perfectly pleasant once the crowds thin.

Yelp
After hearing about this place from so many people, my husband and I decided to check it out with a few friends. To start, we waited over 30 min for a table inside (which wasn't too bad as we were enjoying some lovely wine in their patio) when we finally signaled the hostess and asked what was taking so long she promptly ushered us inside and gave us a dinner menu which consisted of 1 item....steak and fries. Being a steak lover I was overjoyed and ordered the steak and decided on the escargot as an appetizer. The escargot were absolutely divine....and the wine was magnificent! The main course when it arrived looked good although a bit watery. It was perfectly done to my likeness but that was it....the flavor and sauce were a huge disappointment :( I couldn't understand what all the hype with the steaks was about!!!! The sauce was watery and to be quite honest not very well done which was a shame because it ruined the great cut of meat. It was a complete waste! It was as if they were trying to mask the flavor of the actual meat by loading it on with a strong green runny sauce. When paying premium price for a steak at a high end restaurant, the expectation is to get a juicy melt in your mouth succulent piece of meat full of flavor but here it was just meat slathered with runny sauce. See a well done steak on its own doesn't even need any sauce let alone be smothered in one. Overall, the ambiance is nice, the place is clean (although a bit too crowded...not enough room and too many tables) the wine and appetizers are great but if you're looking for a good steak...your better off making it yourself at home for a fraction of the price.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice and I will surely comeback. Reasons why? 1. Duxton Hill is a nice area to hang out after work or go on a date 2. L'entrecote reminds me of the cafe's i've been in Paris. It has a nice and cozy ambiance 3. Steak and Fries is great considering that you pay only $30! generous portions indeed Come here for a date or just chill with your girlfriends. Its a nice place kick off a Friday night!

Yelp
I LOVE this place. The food is simple, unpretentious and good. Of course, the steak is perfect. Served in two separate portions to keep it warm. It's the only main course on the menu. Order the house wine to go with it. But what doesn't get enough credit, in my opinion, is the amazingly good appetizers and desserts. The roasted bone marrow is a must order, and the waffles are fantastic too.

Yelp
The steak & fries are a must-have. Best part is while you're enjoying it, the waitress surprises you with a second serving, and then asks if you want more fries. Great atmosphere (although slightly cramp), courteous staff. They don't take reservations; first come first serve.

Yelp
We went to this place for my birthday, being American and craving a steak... I should have been more stringent with my choices beyond wanting the main entrée on the menu. They seated us... then reseated us when a larger group needed our section. I didn't mind, however it took almost 15-minutes for a waitress to appear to take our order and after that it's as if we were forgotten. Three other tables seated after us were served their salad, appetizer and then entrée and we hadn't even gotten our salads. 20-minutes and nothing before finally the manager seemed to notice and had two dry salads delivered, no dressing on them. We finished and again the waiting game began, this time they took our salads and after 10-minutes of nothing... came back with two more dry salads! We'd been waiting over 40-minutes and hadn't gotten an appetizers! Most of the tables seated after us had departed and by the time we got the main course we were thoroughly annoyed. The staff never explained why our order was delayed, never apologized... then never even spoke to us other than to nod and then dash off. I've worked as a waiter for several years, in both private & 5-star dining and found the entire staff to be seriously under-trained, under-staffed, the food mediocre and the bill to be far too high for how little the place had to offer. I would not recommend this place to my friends and would actively advise people to avoid it.

Yelp
There's really only one reason to visit L`entrecote. And that's for their awesome steak and fries. Everything else doesn't matter! Conveniently located and wonderfully furnished, you almost feel like in you're in Paris, thanks to the ambience and service afforded. Perfect for either lunch or dinner with friends or on a date, the steaks on offer are tender and juicy and proof that wagyu isn't the only choice when it comes to having grilled meat. The appetizers are very French, with a variety of escargots, pate's and terrines on offer so you might want to give that a miss if they aren't very familiar to you.

Yelp
We had high expectations when we went there lately. Food was okay but nothing special from our point of view, just ok. The service lacks some friendliness and the personal touch. The location is of course nice but inside, the tables are placed to close to each other. For a romantic dinner probably not the best precondition. Overall ok but there are many other places I would try first before coming back.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend. Steak has a salsbury like sauce which tastes a little like canned soup or boulion beef cube stock reduction with lots of pepper. The fries are as good as mcdonalds, but cost considerably more, Sigh.

Yelp
I had the signature dish of steak and fries with the 'legendary' sauce and the walnut green salad entree that precedes it. The salad is a few green leaves, approximately 4 halves of walnut and a sweet tasting dressing. Very basic and I am not keen on sweet dressings but unpretentious I suppose. The stake was absolutely drowned in the sauce. I think the steak was OK under all that but it was hard to tell. I would have asked for the sauce on the side if I had known, although I am not sure (I wasn't asked) if that was an option. I would suggest it should be offered as an option. The sauce itself was a sweet, mustardy runny liquid. I like mustard but that part was mild; again the volume of it and sweetness was not at all to my taste. The third component of the main was the fries. The form factor is like the frozen-to-frier string fry you would find at MacDonalds. In itself if you like that kind of fry (and who doesn't now and again) not bad conceptually, however these fries were served around room temperature. They looked and tasted like they had been re-fried and were so hard as to be brittle or impenetrable to fork. My co-diner used the ubiquitous sauce to soften them! The service was just above perfunctory. The tables are configured for maximum volume and turnover at the expense of comfort or privacy. The interior is delightful although bouncy acoustics due to all the flat surfaces. 14 December 2016, Wednesday at 11am

Yelp
Alright, if you feel like steak frites (and you really must feel like that, because there is nothing else on the menu...) The only choice is the size of the steak, regular or XL--which is really the normal size for a steakhouse. Ok service, overall.
google avatar

Valeriana S.

Yelp
Do you like fries? Sure you do, or have had McDonald's before = then you must come here. Otherwise, All: Don't bother washing your hair coming here; Ladies, Asians, or Me: Do not come here when the state of your skin ain't exactly at it's peak, or x - 7 days before your period etc. And otherwise, stare at yourself against that giant mirror staring at you and remind yourself how after all these fries that you are and still beautiful.

Yelp
This review is more about the service here than about the food because I'm still waiting for my steak to arrive and it's been more than a 20 minutes since we were finally given our cold appetizers. Probably a one off experience here but thought it worth sharing. We were initially moved to a different table after being seated for about five minutes so they could make space for a larger party. Then after orders were taken have been promptly forgotten by the wait staff, three other tables that arrived after us were served full meals while we weren't even given bread and now I guess they have forgotten about our meal because steaks still aren't here while other tables have been served! Frustrating!

Yelp
Appetizers are delicious. For a place with such a small menu, I had high expectations of the steak. It came medium when I ordered medium rare and overall was ok, nothing special. Ambiance of restaurant is nice.
