"This Middle Eastern and Mediterranean market includes a small bakery selling falafel sandwiches, fresh-baked pitas and a variety of baklava, cakes, cookies, and pastries. Some say the baklava here is some of the best in metro Atlanta." - Sarra Sedghi

Love this place. Great selection of middle east groceries, bread and spices. Ready to bake knafeh in the freezer! Hands down, the best baklava in town!

My family started going here like 30 years ago, when you had to go to a specialty store like this to get tahini because no one knew what hummus was. I used to stop by anytime I went back home to get a $4 falafel wrap. So it pains me to make a negative review here, but I’m guessing running the store has changed hands because the quality has gone way down. I moved away for 6 years, so I don’t know when it happened, but I’ve been disappointed the last 3-4 times I’ve come. The falafel wrap is $7 or $8 now. I understand inflation, but I’m just stating this to say it’s no longer a great deal. Worse still is that each time I’ve had it it’s been bone dry and bland. I also bought hummus last time and it had either gone bad or was messed up. I had to throw it away it was so bad. The mujadara from the hot bar was much worse too. I hate to post this review but I’m hoping it inspires some improvements.

I can’t recommend this place enough! The owner is kind and generous, making you feel like family. And the baklava? Simply the best in town—flaky, buttery, and perfectly sweet. I keep coming back for more! If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out!

Very cool place, wish I had known about it sooner! Rabi was super helpful in ordering baklava for our office to celebrate Diwali. I will be certain to continue shopping here for Mediterranean specialties. So many yummy things!

This is the place to shop for those who miss Middle Eastern food. What is surprising is the bar of options to buy olives by weight. You can bring a glass jar or jars. Just like my mother used to buy olives at the market in Haifa. Very fresh pita bread and, of course, an artichoke bottom for filling. Enjoy the place and the nice owners and employees.

My grandfather has been shopping here for years and I recently went in for the first time to pick up some frozen lahmacun and Armenian cheese. This really is a hidden gem for middle eastern groceries and fresh foods. I got some fresh pita bread (made in house) and pistachio baklava that were delicious.

Google
I love this store, they have the most interesting and delicious things. Part of today's haul: fresh off the tree pistachios and apricot paste.

Loved the baklava. They have Dubai chocolate .

Yelp
Got a few prepared foods to go. Upon reaching home, I opened the hummus container and there was fungus on top. That made me question the tabouli salad but it tasted fine. Dry, but fine. The beef and spinach turnovers were overly doughy. The cheese turnover had good flavors and the ratio of filling to dough was good. The beef grape leaves were frozen and when thawed and heated like the guy told me, they were nasty. I did not get groceries so maybe it is a good grocery store, but the prepared foods are not worth it, especially when they have fungus indicating that it is not fresh.

Yelp
Family owned! Always fresh and healthy foods!

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to Leon International Foods forever but never thought about it. Because I was craving falafels and wanted to try a new place then I remembered I should finally check out Leon's. The location is one you would never think of, it's located off Pleasantdale Road behind Burger King close to I-85. There's a bunch of businesses behind there that you would think are for warehouses. Leon International Foods is located straight back and you cannot miss it. The store is a lot smaller than I would think but their bakery is big enough and they have lots of food that I overlooked. Most of their foods needs to be heated up. I asked for the falafel wheat wrap. I wish they offered pita instead, would've been more delicious. They even had vegan baklava. I was like what???? Yes, please! The staff was really nice and offered me to take samples of their vegan food bar. It's cold though but they gave me a plate and spoon for me to take some. When I got home, I heated up the sample plate. The food is delicious!!! My falafel wrap was really good too. I never had so many flavors in a falafel. I tasted a lot of fermented food which complemented well. I also got spinach fatayer. There were meat versions and this was the only veggie one they had that day. I warmed them up in my air fryer. It had a sourness to it and I liked it. I am glad it wasn't sweet! Now, time for the vegan baklava. It is flaky, crunchy, sweet but not too sweet. I loved it! Definitely worth a trip for the food, especially the bakery. Yummy Lebanese goodies. 86/2020

Yelp
The best Middle Eastern grocery in Atlanta. Be sure to try their prepared foods while you're there.

Yelp
First time here can't wait to be back Falafel sandwiches and spinach pies and lots of groceries. Love it all Thank you so much

Christopher Z.

Yelp
We stopped for 2 sandwiches. Ordered falafel and shwarama. When we saw old falafel being placed in a microwave, we ran out the front door. Also, realize this place is NOT being inspected as a restaurant. There are no food safety ratings because they are operating as a grocery store. Several local competitors that make fresh food nearby.

Retha A.

Yelp
The falafel was moldy in the shelf. The zartar rolls were stale and the pickles were not right. It seems like it's not the same people that have been there before. Prices are much higher. I will not be returning here after shopping here for over 30 years.

Yelp
Everything from the bakery is delicious! I have been going here sense I was a baby, they never disappoint.

Marina B.

Yelp
I love this place, everyone is so kind and the bakery has some of the most Delicious desserts, literally the best baklava!

Tuong Vi P.

Yelp
I continue to go to Leon International Foods and my love of the business is unwavering. The baklava is still some of the very best in the city (as are the other phyllo dough-based Middle Eastern sweets), and now I sometimes buy spices and dried beans here (which are well priced). A few months ago, I got a to-go box of prepared food, since I had a hangry toddler on my hands, and everything was tasty (though I'm ignorant about the names of the dishes). Today I grabbed a box of knafeh from the fridge, after hearing magnificent things about this popular dessert made of shredded phyllo dough and stuffed with sweet cheese. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. The service is always kind and welcoming and the smell as I open the door makes me feel like I'm walking into someone's well-used kitchen that is overflowing with spices of all kind. I'm thrilled that Leon International Food continues to thrive and I hope this gem stays around for many more years to come.

Yelp
Best hummus I've ever had!!! Plus lots of other delicious food!! Worth the drive so check it out!!

Yelp
The establishment is a mix of an eatery, grocery & bakery shop. Their sandwiches are great(limited option), but the cheese and spinach pies are amazing. They have one of the best Baklava in Atlanta, and my personal favorite is the Rum Truffles. I believe they are known for their pita bread and pita chips. I haven't tried the pita bread, but the pita chips are great. If you are in the area and looking for a reliable go-to place to pick few things, this is it.

Yelp
To prepare for a big date, I decided I was going to make some Middle Eastern dishes I had never tried to recreate in the kitchen. I decided upon menaeesh bi zaatar, fatoush and bell pepper stuffed with couscous. All of this sounded delicious in theory, but I knew I needed some key Arab grocery items. I called my friend's mom, who is Palestinian, and she said her favorite store was Leon's in Doraville. What a tip! She should have been busted for insider trading! Leon's is THE place to go for Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian foods. They don't sell fresh produce or meats, but they have a variety of essential spices and cooking supplies from that part of the world - an awesome and cheap olive bar that is at least 50% cheaper than Whole Foods; a bakery with fresh pita, pastries and cakes; a good spice selection (with lots of sumac and zaatar choices); and a lot of other foods. They also sell hummus, falafel, baba ghanoush, Arabic CDs and other odds and ends. Masha'Allah!

Laura P.

Yelp
Hands down the best homemade hummus and zatar pita bread! Tons of beautiful options for cooking up your favorite middle eastern and Mediterranean dishes. Do yourself a favor and go and stock up!!

Peg B.

Yelp
Great pita and perfect place to get all my Easter grocery items. Grape leaves, hummus, tahini, olives, olive oil. Best prices around.

J R.

Yelp
I like coming here for middle eastern groceries and food. The pita bread is always fresh and the owner of the place is really nice. I buy my garlic spread from here as well and it's so tasty.

Charlotte S.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! Staff is super friendly and kept clean. It is a little hard to find even with gps but nonetheless worth it! Check this small business out if you're looking for Mediterranean or Middle Eastern goodies!!

Katie R.

Yelp
I feel like I went back in time...! Little shop with a great middle eastern bakery and a couple of aisles of shelf stable goods. They have a fantastic olive selection, as well as good choices for vegetarians. I got some zaatar man'oushe and some spinach fatayer. Sooooo good. I look forward to going back for some Lebanese stables like falafel, spices, and pickles. Highly recommend

Amar P.

Yelp
Awesome fallafal wrap made with fresh pita! I have been here a couple times and the quality stays consistent. Great variety of olives and baked treats!

Rachel W.

Yelp
Our family has been going to Leon's for more than 30 years; we used to live 2 miles away, and now that we moved quite far away, I make a point of visiting at least once/month. Best products including many varieties of olives (by FAR the lowest prices anywhere in the state), bulgur and farik, olive oils, not to mention the delicious pastry -- it will delight you. For a special occasion, or to keep your pantry stocked with basics, this is the place to go. High quality, friendly staff. (Wish I were a part owner!) - Rachel. P.S. the string cheese is from Fresno, y'all! (You fellow Armenian-related folk will understand...)

Zohaib A.

Yelp
Incredible family owned bakery with the best baklava and fresh pita in town! The owners are very sweet and keep their customers happy and loyal.

Nida K.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Run by a family and has much of what you would want from the Arab world! Even cooked food. If you call them in advance they will prepare whatever you want! Its in the back parking lot of McDonalds - a bit hidden, but well worth it!

Paul J.

Yelp
A great little store with Levantine products and food. It's in a weird area by some loading docks, but it's worth seeking out if you need Lebanese/Palestinian ingredients. The falafel is also really good - it's classic Lebanese style with pickles and tahini. Order at the counter on the left and they'll wrap it up for you. There's one table up front if you want to eat in. Great selection of honey-drenched desserts as well.

Tony Z.

Yelp
Good wholesome ethnic food, clean environment, friendly service, courteous staff who makes you feel welcomed, what more can you want? Don't let their warehouse location in the middle of an industrial park fool you, the food is delicious and quality speaks for itself. If you enjoy European style flavors, unlike the sugar heavy American junk, you have to stop over here and pick up some real quality food. Why give Whole Foods your whole pay check when you have a local inexpensive alternative? Leon, please keep up the quality.

NerdoLoco H.

Yelp
I go here for Kataif (I know that is horribly misspelled). I think I misspelled "misspelled". Anyway, I get the cheeses, olives, etc. They started selling falafels and I am reviewing that. It's $4, HUGE, and delish. Get one.

M C.

Yelp
Tabouli Thursday is amazing. You can buy groceries here but the best part is there sandwiches and fresh made salads and hummus. Also the people that work inside are so nice and helpful!

Ahmad K.

Yelp
great taste, the closest to what we used to eat in the middle east....

Sara A.

Yelp
Clean place and courteous staff. They have an excellent olive and pickle stand which is self-serve. I particularly love their pickled turnips. They also have a bakery and their pita bread, meat pies, spinach and cheese pies, and baklavah are pretty good. I also love getting the Tazah Mango soda which is delicious!
