Leone's Ristorante & Pizzeria

Had pizza at Leone’s on Jacaranda in Venice this evening for the first time. I found their pizza to be the best I have had in this area. I had the regular crust and a friend had the thin crust. We exchanged a piece with one another so that we could see what we like best. Honestly, they were both Delicious. The weight staff, in my opinion, was exceptional. This will be my go to place for ordering pizza in the future. There were 15 to 20 of us that ate there this evening and many of us complimented the staff on how good our food was as well as the service. Give it a try if you have never been.

7-20-24, my first time dining at this elegant ambiance filled restaurant. Nice for either fine dining or casual fare. I sat at the bar and had Mark as my quite competent bartender. I went with the linguine bolognese? It came with two warm flavorful bread sticks. All was very good. I highly recommend. It wasn't very busy 😮‍💨. 12-4-24. This is our 5th time ordering their pizzas. We dined in tonight and Christopher was our waiter. My father ordered the soup and could not enjoy it because it was too salty. They supplied the other soup, but the affect was lost on my Dad. We ordered the Pepperoni and sausage thin pizza. Not their best. I still am satisfied with the overall experience and quality of their service. I recommend

Loaded Baked Potato Small: 10” - $19 Medium: 14” - $23 Large: 16” - $27 Smashed potatoes, chorizo, corn, sour cream, sharp cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan drizzled with mayo lime sauce & chives Ordered takeout baked potato pizza for first time down here . Only pizza place around that offers it. Good but one strangely jarring addition -please skip the mayo lime sauce! The lime is just not a good addition. It overwhelms the basic potato, chorizo taste! Try Mashed potato, bacon and cheese(s) Or BLT pizza (with shredded lettuce on top) Kudos for trying a different type of pizza though!

Absolutely horrible! We got wet flaccid pizza this was a little over a mile away from our hotel and it was delivered. The so called called “chicken piccata “was pale and equally as lifeless as the pizza. Picatta is usually lightly browned and finished in wine lemon juice reduction with capers snd lemon slices. This tasted like broth poached flavourless chicken.. I had to warm up the pizza in a dry frying pan in the hotel to dry out the crust to make it at least edible. The Greek salad contained maybe 3 olives and the dressing had the distinctive viscus and oil free mouth feel characteristic of bottled dressing. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

Cold Soggy Pizza!! Also wrong Dressing given. Spent $49 for an anti pasta salad and a pizza. Unreal!! This is the 3rd time I have had issues with this restaurant. Never Again. Beware ! You have been warned. Get a pizza warmer and wake up!!

First time at the restaurant and I ordered the Veal Piccata. I called at 8pm and placed my to go order. The food did not taste flavorful but rather bland and could have been seasoned. They did not include plastic silverware, which I did not discover until I got back to work. This was surprising to me because I communicated with the server that I was working an overnight shift and googled restaurants close to my place of employment. Also I was somewhat confused that the Veal Piccata price is $24 on the online menu but my bill came to $32.10. I just paid it and did not inquire any further since they were cleaning preparing to close for the night. I honestly had higher expectations based on the location of the restaurant as well as the menu.

I grabbed a seat on the bar and have been treated like a king especially by the cool bartender Jimmy! I've heard rumors and read reviews about certain attitude here but all I can say is, Finally! an Italian place that is also operating like an Italian place which is the opposite of most businesses nowadays being robotically systemic with no soul in their food and no character in the atmosphere. Most businesses do anything to kiss the customer feet to be profitable but it's hard to get a real good food experience that way because it reflect the approach to everything especially the FOOD Which is the point here and is absolutely amazing in this place so when you come here be respectful don't try to change anything or cause problems, be patient, be nice and cooperate with what this place offers and the hard working people that are serving you and you will have a great Italian dining experience

We were a table of 5 for dinner, & we all ordered something different. All of our entrees were delicious. I split a Caprese salad. Loved their balsamic glaze. Then skipped their nightly specials to enjoy spaghetti Meatballs (hey, just a country kid here). The staff from Hostess Mary to Server Trish all waited on us like we were the only ones despite how busy it was. Owner Stefca can be proud. And the bar is full service too.

We ordered a large pepperoni pizza , and a salad salad was great , pizza was wonderful , great atmosphere and Ty he waitress was very attentive. Our family enjoyed the food and we left satisfied, with extra c slices for later

Wow this place is going in the wrong direction. i usually eat here frequently but not sure anymore. #1 they got rid of the breadsticks and replaced them with mundane bread rolls. When i commented i was told by waitstaff i just have to get used to it!!! Are u friggin kidding??? This isnt a breadline i am a customer paying for a meal and experience! I I only have to get used to a new place that values my patronrage Place was empty but Lasagna took forever and was luke warm to cold. Just have to find a new italian/pizza spot.

We went to dinner here during hi season and were easily seated. Our server was very nice, but she was busy. My parents ordered the Chicken Parm, a small pizza and salad. I ordered the Greek Dinner salad and Meatball Appetizer to keep things lower carb. My salad came out as a side salad with very little toppings. I immediately asked "Is this the Greek? It's like $16" She switched it to a side salad and only charged me $5. ??? My meatballs were ok, but I was trying to figure out if they were homemade. Couldn't tell... so that was not great. The sauce was delicious! Had a great flavor and plenty of it. My parents said they enjoyed their dinners and Overall, I would go back during hi season.

Leone's is the best kept secret in Venice. Being of Italian decent, I know good Italian food and Leone's is it. I have been going there for over 12 years and the food is excellent. My favorite is Veal Parmigiana. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. The service is good and the wait staff and hostess are very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is typical and welcoming. Today, I ordered a Margarita pizza. It was also delicious and made with ample amounts of cheese and tomatoes. The

Went there for lunch, place empty. Paid $60 for two salads and water with very salty chicken. WTF? I see why it was empty.

had lunch here. service was very good. my wife went with pizza and I had the chicken parm. my wife said the pizza was just ok. my chicken parm lost the coating as I cut it.

The pizza was good, as were the mussels but the antipasto leaves much to be desired... mostly lettuce and few olives, no mozzarella balls, roasted peppers or other items usually found at other restaurants

The restaurant was very noisy the linguine with white clam sauce dish I had was very different. It was more like linguine with clam fettuccine. My wife didn't care for her dish either. Won't go back.

A couple of years ago, I went to Leone's a couple of times and came away dissatisfied. But lately, I started going there again and both the food and the service have drastically improved vs my prior experiences. I don't know what changed, but whatever it was really improved things! I'll be back for more!

We had dinner at Leone's last night in Venice, Fla. It's tucked away in a small strip center with limited parking so get there early. The restaurant is very spacious with a great bar. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered eggplant Parmesan - it was a very generous portion and very flavorful. I actually took half home and had it for dinner the next night. I've had the pizza here before as well and it was outstanding. If you're looking for good Italian in the Venice area, give Leone's a look- you won't leave hungry or be disappointed.

We took advantage of the opportunity to try an Italian restaurant that was located really close to our house. Less than 2 miles door-to-door, we had to try it. Situated in a strip mall, there was plenty of convenient parking. The storefront makes it look small from the outside but there is a nice size dining area and a bar area with sports on TV. The ambience was better than expected. With pizza being a culinary fetish these days, we gave the 10 inch margarita a try. The pizza was nothing magical, just middle of the road pizza. Our dinner timing was planned around happy hour, and there were $2 draft beers, a good value. Unfortunately, the keg ran out of Bud Light and the only other beer on the happy hour special was Michelob ultra. For my main course I had the chicken franciase. No complex flavors here, it was sort of dull. To doctor it up a little bit I added some grated Parmesan cheese. The added cheese on top was was not enough to make it really delicious. I'll say the dish was just OK. Service was on the slow side, I think they were training a new server at the same time. We had to ask to place our order for the main course. The server said I didn't want to rush you. Said another way, timing was off. The best part... My wife didn't have to cook tonight. Salute!

Not really sold on this yet. My carbonara was greasy and the food took longer than expected. Breadsticks are tiny and eggplant appetizer was very sweet with the sauce. We will go back again and I really hope to have a stronger review next time. The staff were all very nice.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we stopped by for an Italian meal at Leone's in Venice, Florida. Being from the New Haven, Connecticut area, we know good Italian food and service. We ordered the Chicken Piccata, and it was large enough for the two of us. Ample garlic breadsticks, and great Italian beer and wine completed the delicious and affordable meal. We met the owner who has extensive experience running Italian restaurants here and in Rhode Island, and told him what a great 'find' his restaurant is, and that we'll be back soon with friends! Leone's is a winner!

Good tasting food friendly service. Don't like the upcharge for a credit card though. I think better to have one price even if you have to tweak the price to cover credit cards. But we'll worth the trip.

Great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Good bartenders and happy hour. Pizza is delicious and bruschetta to die for! Lots of regulars having a drink and picking up pizza to go too. Dinners are good size and tasty. We stunmbled on this place and returned several times while visiting the area.

The menu sounded perfect. Ordered on line and picked up. Service was prompt, friendly and the food was warm.... Unfortunately it had no flavor! Take out dinner for 3 was just shy of $100. And absolutely no flavor. My daughters comment.... It's like I have Covid and lost my taste! Chicken Alfredo and veal Marsala..... try something else .... It's like burning a $100 bill

Hands down, best pizza in Venice! The Leone's is conveniently located in the shopping center at Jacaranda Blvd and Center Rd. The pizza is nice and thick with a great balance of sauce, cheese and spices. My only complaint and reason why I didn't give 5 stars was due to the guy who helped me out when picking up my order. He wasn't very welcoming or pleasant.

If you love pizza and pasta, don't miss Leone's. We loved the white pizza and the carbonara too. It is the closest I've had to my NY roots great pizza! The service is amazing, too. We love it so much we've started sharing with others by having Leone's deliver their pizzas (anonymously) to the local heroes working at nursing homes! ENJOY!

Looking for a good pizza house. After searching we decided on giving this place a try. Unfortunately it was not a good experience on pizza flavor. Toppings did seem fresh and the pizza sauce was very bland. I don't know why something so simple can be so difficult for pizza places.

Nice bar, sauce was tasty, service excellent! Had eggplant and meatballs that were very good! Definitely a go back to try their pizza.

We visited Leones for an early Sunday dinner We enjoy pasta undercooked a tad but was served over cooked. Very friendly waiter ,, portions were big, quality was low. It was OK , pizza store quality overall.

The people who run this place seriously suck. Super unprofessional. Environment is dark and stuffy. Seemed super disorganized and all over the place. Aside from their Hawaiian pizza (which only even tastes good the next day), their food is mediocre at best. Management is awful here. Avoid at all costs.

I loveeeee this restaurant. The pizza is soooo GOOD! I also highly recommend the Chicken Scarpiello, the Chicken Parmesan Sub, and the Meatball sub. Also the Calzones are amazingggggg!! I get meatballs, roasted green peppers and garlic and it's out of this world. Our server,Andrea, is hilarious and on top of everything. Top Notch service and food. My favorite Italian restaurant in Sarasota County, hands down.

Went there last night Jan 14. Food was good especially the sausage and meatballs. However I needed more sauce for the pasta. Most restaurants this is not a problem. Later when we looked at our bill we realized there was a charge of 5 dolarrs for the extra sauce! I found this unbelievable. Hesitant now to go back

Fabulous pizza and a great bar. A little noisy sometimes in the bar thanks to some local barflys, but the food is really good and the service is, too!

Fabulous gem that's been around for 25 years. Wine beer and liquor and the food is SO GOOD. Parking is easy and you can order online for take out. Locals love this place. Decent size bar that serves full menu.

We have gone to Leonies several times. It's close to my parents home in Venice. We have always been satisfied with their food as well as the service. This last spring, it was my mother's birthday and my father had also just suffered an injury therefore they could not go out to eat. Over the phone I was able to arrange for gift certificate and my sister to pick up the meals that they ordered. My parents and sister were very happy with their meals!

The margarita pizza was delicious, topped off with tiramisu. The service was helpful & attentive.

Hidden away in a little strip mall at the corner of Jacaranda and Center is Leone's. Heard by word of mouth about the pizza so we decided to drop in and take a chance. First the place is deceivingly spacious inside and when we stopped by packed to the rafters with diners, which is always a good sign. The menu is straight forward and the service is fast and friendly. The pizza was hot and gooey on arrival. The crust was light with a good amount of air pockets but substantial with a good chew. Evenly cooked and the toppings generous. Sauce was a little sparse and I have a personal issue with peppers that are not peeled before cooking but that's me. Combined with a generous house salad we walked out satisfied with a couple of slices extra for breakfast for around $30, not bad in this market. Simple surroundings, good service and good food. And best of all, it's a 5 minute drive.

I had a wonderful experience with the kind lady's working at Leone's. The food is great and the staff is kind. I stop through every chance I get.

Driver forgot salads, Linguini Bolognese was horrible! It tasted like they put dill in it and I experienced serious digestive issues during the night! Never again, there are too many good Italian restaurants in the area.

I went here because of the positive Yelp reviews. I had a poor experience I went at 4 pm. The server showed me the menu which included $13.50 specials. I ordered the fish special I asked if they could add lemon. No problem and it included salad and bread My salad was inedible tough leaves from romaine tops were the greens, a mashed pepper,and the tough ends of an onion the cucumber pieces were from 1 inch thick to paper thin The bread was greasy sandwich roll The fish came and it was cooked nicely but the pasts was way overdone and not warm Only 2 lemon slices and a sprig of basil with big brown spots!! My bill for a water and an early dinner should have been $13.50 plus tax but I got a bill for $29. Are you kidding me!! The manager said the kitchen staff cuts things differently and that basil gets brown in the walkin cooler. Well don't serve it!! My extra charge was because the addition of lemon changed the sauce and that made it $8.00more!!! The other charge was the server giving herself a tip !!! And she said so!!! Never again. Sloppy food, uncaring manager, unfair overcharge!!!

This was our second visit, the first time the food was excellent and enough to take some home. I wanted to go for my birthday dinner because I loved the food..... however......... our food was half the size as the last time, although my lasagna was very good my husbands veal was way over cooked. Our waitress never came to offer a second drink or any drink. Our garlic bread was rolls with a garlic spread. Very disappointed and will not go back again.

My wife and make it a point to dine here often, when in Florida we have ALWAYS had great meals or pizza here!! Wonderful service ! You can't go wrong here!!

We have not been there since they remodeled. So tonight we went there for a good Italian dinner. The meal was good as was the service. However, the rolls were rock hard. I showed the waitress when I knocked it against the saucer. She seemed disappointed but never said much. Then while we were there they served a huge group of people that included a lot of teenagers and kids. The noise was deafening. We could not hear ourselves speak. This is not the place for a large group of kids. We would have normally had a second glass of wine, but we declined. Others noticed it too. I was very disappointed in my experience. I loved my dinner. But Venice has a lot of Italian Restaurants to pick from and who don't serve rock hard rolls and also provide a pleasing dinning atmosphere. We won't be back, which is a shame as we always liked this place.

A local favorite of my parents and their friends. We visited for a nice dinner with my parents and family in from Germany. We had our table ready when we arrived, set for 8 of us. Service was very friendly, and since my parents are regulars, the owner came by to say 'hello' and ensure we had great service - it pays to go anywhere with 'regulars'. Our server was patient as we translated food items and made our dinner choices from a very rich and varied menu. From what I gather, the current owner is the son of the previous owners, taking over after a time of confusion. I'm guessing & hoping the poor reviews were from that transition time. Our meals were excellent! I tried the blackened trout (I think this was the fish - we looked at so many choices) which came with vegetables and garlic potatoes. The recommended wine of Pinot Grigio was perhaps a bit bit sweet for the meal, but a good wine for what it was. The fish was perfectly prepared, and blackened well - something I don't like at most restaurants as they just season it rather than actually blacken it. Yes, I checked how it was done before ordering. Vegetables were excellent, and the potatoes were also very good. Atmosphere was nice casual, not quite elegant, but clean & welcoming. With many good seafood restaurants in the Venice area, this is one solid Italian restaurant to stand out from the crowd. I've been here several times over the years, though not in the past 5 or so, and have always been pleased by the food. I see the current owner as taking this restaurant back to the top for a good, sit down meal. A note on carry out: We enjoyed a couple carry out pizza's from here earlier in our week. The pizza was very good, but no longer hot and fresh like you would receive in house. I'd recommend eating at the restaurant. Their pizza, though very good, may not be their strongest dish.

Best kept secret in Venice...their pizza is our favorite! We also like their fresh ice cold house salad--all Romain lettuce!! Their ranch dressing is house made!! We have also tried many of their menu items and like this restaurant when we are hungry for Italian. Garlic rolls served warm are so good!

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful Italian restaurant so close to us... great atmosphere and the food is to die for. The Osso Buco is amazing... as is the Chicken Nona.... We haven't had a bad meal ever... so the list of recommendations is long. Food is amazing, service is top notch. I highly recommend.

Just stumbled upon the Italian restaurant as I was going to a new grocery store. Very nice restaurant and they have home made cannolis'. Yum!!! I will be coming back more often.

We've been to Leone's three times in the last two weeks. It's always crowded at 6:00, but we got in the first two times. The food was good, and the wait staff was friendly and did a good job. Not top shelf Italian, but good enough. We went there for dinner tonight at 6:15. Typically crowded at this time, but there were tables available. The hostess was running around the restaurant and didn't acknowledge us standing at the hostess station. She finally came to the front, looked right at us, and we smiled and a said there were just two of us. She never said a word, looked at her book, and walked away. We stood there for several more minutes and no one so much as looked at us. We eventually walked next door, picked up a few things at Winn Dixie and went home to make dinner. I don't think we'll rush back.

Just flew in from Cleveland. Marcos was suggested but I prefer smaller independent Italian places. HIT the jackpot with a carry out Marguerita Pizza! It was among the best ever, anywhere coast to coast. Thick cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes and a perfect touch of Basil. Crust was crispy and delicious just the right thickness. We carried out. I'd love to try the restaurant if the pizza is this goid

Have visited several times over the last six months and we are pleasantly surprised at the quality of their meals. This has become my go-to Italian restaurant in Venice. A hidden gem!

Staff wear masks, but when I went to pick up a pizza (average at best) they had 20 patrons elbow to elbow at the bar none wearing masks. Come on, separate these fools.

The pizza was probably good...but we never got it. They use grub hub. Half an hour after our order was due, the driver called to say he'd gotten into an accident leaving the restaurant. We did get a refund, but no dinner, no call from Leone's asking if we wanted to reorder. Next time we'll use a restaurant with more reliable delivery.
