"The name is a tribute to the original founder, who opened this modest eatery back in the 1940’s. It has since morphed into a trendy gourmet bistro in the capable hands of an enthusiastic young couple. Originally from Deux-Sèvres, the chef fell in love with the Basque Country and its produce; he has made game his speciality in season. Hidden gem! This restaurant is a bit outside of the city center, but certainly worth the ~15 minute walk. It’s the perfect combination of casual and elegant — the food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! Both of the people who served us were friendly, helpful and spoke great English. I’m Not a huge dessert person, but wow, this one blew my mind! 👌🏼

What a delightful restaurant that serves fine quality offerings. The starter ham with cream starter was delicious. Followed by escargot coated with deep fried potato strings in a rich butter cream saice. The beef steak was tender and juicy and one of the tastiest steak i have had cooked perferctly medium with a rich meat sauce. No room for dessert. Service was also great. Kudos to the professional waiter.

Best meal and service in Biarritz. Although the restaurant is located a bit away from touristic area, is definitely worth the visit. We really enjoyed the service, the food was also amazing! My nr.1 in Biarritz

Friendly reception despite not being a regular customer. Shared a copious plate of charcuterie and then the meat dish of the day. Well cooked and very tasty. Washed down with an excellent red from Pays d'Oc.

The best meal I have had in forever! It’s a simple, elegant restaurant. A little off the beaten track but in a good way. Service is impeccable, the wine delicious but the flavours are out of this world. Best of all, it’s really good value. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Had a beautiful meal in Leonie's restaurant this evening. We had 3 courses and all of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was very polite and helpful, explaining the menu to us etc. I highly recommend this restaurant!
