Baekjeong Korean Barbecue Closes in Koreatown, Making Way for Origin | Eater LA

"Leo’s, one of the most expansive al pastor taco truck empires in Southern California, has opened a Long Beach location and will serve nightly, expanding beyond its truck operations." - Matthew Kang

Leo’s is everything you want from a late-night taco spot — fast, flavorful, and consistent. The al pastor tacos are the star here, carved fresh off the spit with a perfect balance of smoky, juicy pork and a touch of sweetness from the pineapple. The salsa bar is clean and well-stocked, with great variety — the green salsa and avocado sauce are standouts. Plenty of outdoor tables for sitting. Service is friendly and efficient, and parking is easy in the lot. Prices are fair, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. If you’re in the area and craving authentic street-style tacos, Leo’s in Long Beach never disappoints.

I stopped by Leo’s Taco Truck after reading all the great reviews, hoping for something a bit more gourmet or unique. The location is great, right on the corner of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Wardlow, with plenty of outdoor seating and a lively, friendly vibe. The staff was awesome, super helpful and upbeat, which really added to the experience. The salsa bar is a standout, easily a 5/5. Tons of options, very clean, and the staff even wiped it down twice while I was there. Everything was fresh, and even the lime wedges were perfect. As for the food, that’s where it fell short for me. I ordered a California burrito ($13) and a plain quesadilla ($11), plus a small card fee and tax, which came to almost $30. The burrito’s meat was dry, and overall it tasted pretty average for the price. I’m one of those people who usually comes for the food first — priority #1 — so, on that note, I left a little underwhelmed. If you’re here for the full experience — great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a top-notch salsa bar — it’s worth the stop. But if you’re coming strictly for the food, you might find better options elsewhere.

Ordered their chicken tacos, chicken nachos, both tasted good. They offer salad and condiments through the salad bar right infront of the truck. Usually, the place id pretty packed during the weekends and apparently there’s a wait time. We visited it during a Taco Tuesday, there wasn’t much of time and the place was pretty decent to eat right there.

Google
Leo’s Taco Truck is hands down one of my favorite spots for tacos. The al pastor is incredible, super flavorful and perfectly cooked. I also love their all carne asada tacos which are packed with tender, juicy meat. Their horchata never disappoints either. It’s an outdoor setup with a few tables, but I usually recommend grabbing your food to go. It does get busy, especially in the evenings, but the line moves pretty fast so you’re not waiting too long. Definitely worth it every time.

Google
Leo’s is always a hit! We ordered the tripe quesadilla, al pastor gordita, and 3 tacos (Al pastor, asada, and lengua). The gordita was hugeee! We love the quesadilla here paired with the crispy tripe. Their meats are all super flavorful! My favorites were the Al pastor and lengua. All their salsas are delicious as well, and the orange salsa is pretty spicy!

Google
In my recent food adventure one of my best taco experiences in LA. The food was fresh and flavorful. The ambience was great with bright lights in the parking lot. Luckily we didn’t see much ppl today because of Christmas. I tried Al pastor and beef tacos both were super good. The meat was juicy and tender and was packed with plenty of flavor. They had plenty of option for sauces and salads to add on top. Overall a must try for me.

Google
Soooo good. We love these tacos. Every time we are in California we find the nearest Leo’s Taco Truck. The service was fast, salsas and cilantro etc was set out so easy to grab and go. Tables were clean with nice stools. Must try.

Google
got two al pastor and a carne Asada. Its abit on the salty side without much flavor. Hot sauce made it better. Pricing is reasonable. 3 tacos and a Mexican coke for $11.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Do not skip on the Al Pastor. Highlights: Really fun and busy Mexican food truck. The al pastor is really flavorful, not too salty which is my usual complaint, and I love the thin slice of pineapple that comes with it. My husband really enjoyed the cheek meat and his California burrito was loaded! I love their self-service salsa and toppings bar. I am usually a little hesitant with lone food trucks in neighborhoods in case the food isn't as fresh, but there's so much traffic and turn at this place, I wasn't even concerned. They also have lots of seating. Lowlights: It is busy so sometimes it can take a little to get your food. I thought the actual taco itself was on the smaller side even though it's loaded with meat.

Yelp
Love the food and the staff is always friendly. It's the only place in the neighborhood to get good food after 9pm. It's been gone for 3 days now. Anyone know what happened, will it be back?
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
I usually only get the al pastor tacos and burritos here. The al pastor and asada is good here, but just not quite 5 star worthy. The tacos are $2.30 each. Parking is super easy and the lot is usually not full. They have all the salsas, onions, cilantro, etc. that you would expect from a taco stand. This location is an easy and convenient taco truck to satisfy my al pastor cravings.

Yelp
I visited the popular Leo's Taco today at lunch, arrived before the lunch crowd. Every-time I pass the truck there's a line. Today I Ordered a regular chicken burrito. It was $12 plus tax and an additional $1.00 when using a credit card. The extra $1.00 fee was noted on the truck, but there was no pricing listed for any food items. Only pics of the food. My order took about 5-7 minutes before my number was called. Brush up on your counting in Spanish or remember who you ordered after. My order number was immediately said in English, whew !! When your order is ready for pick-up you're given choices of , lime, radish, salsa, onion and cilantro. I took it to go because it was windy and cold. They do have tables and stools to sit on for outside eating. My chicken burrito was flavorful and a generous size!! Midway through devouring it I realized i hadn't taken a picture. Four stars due to no pricing of the food listed. I will go back!!

Yelp
Leos taco truck is conveniently located at the intersection of Wardlow and los coyotes diagonal. Best tacos in the area and reasonable prices. My favorite part besides the food is the bottle of cokes that they offer. Al pastor tacos are cooked from the traditional vertical skewer and served with pineapple. Carne Asada meat is also very good. They always serve you with your choice of red or green salsa, radishes, and cucumbers, and limes. Excellent services and outside seating is folding chairs and tables they provide themselves.

Yelp
This location is just as good as the other locations in DTLA. Wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night around 730 PM. I echo some of the other comments that said they don't know why the place is getting subpar reviews. They are known for the Al Pastor and that's all I get here. Maybe it's because people got the non-Al Pastor items. The tacos were flavorful, had a good amount of meat, the condiments/salsa bar had a good taste selection, and there was plenty of pineapple. We were pretty happy campers. The price, quality, and overall quality met all of our expectations. I consider myself a taco lover, have had tacos all over California, Austin, and Mexico City. I hope this review was helpful. Cheers.

Yelp
Incredible tasting food and fast friendly service! Sure, there are cheaper taco stands around... but their portions here are very generous, and it's perfect every time. I love that they have the stand outside with the salsa bar and tables with coverings available so you can eat there if you want to. I recommend Al pastor with pineapple in tacos or burritos. Their alambres is a HUGE amount of food. Order that and get some extra tortillas - easily enough for 2-3 people to eat. I appreciate that they have sopes and huaraches here too! Run, don't walk... this place is the truth!

Yelp
Not sure why the reviews are just meh; this place is great! Spent thanksgiving on a taco crawl in the area and these were my personal favorite. I love an Al pastor taco that has a little crisp to it. Tacos don't look special, but they taste great! Service was kind and truck has a few tables nearby so nice to sit and eat. It was very popular but they move quick.

Yelp
food is good but service and wait time can be better and being more efficient. Because when I went other people order who were placed after me and ordered more more food got called ahead of me so idk how the tickets order are being ran but I was highly especially since I was on 30 min lunch break . I also suggest there be one person staying at the register and another to get the food out because then your food just sitting there while that one person is just taking never ending orders .
google avatar

Jose L.

Yelp
18 min wait mediocre cheese and food, not worth it , salsas not spicy, asada had nerves and not much flavor, the tripas are salty as well.
google avatar

Dayna G.

Yelp
I love this place for a late night meal! They're open late which is super convenient. I ordered the cabeza burrito and wasn't disappointed! They also have a cart with sides you could take to go, their salsas and pickled onions are the best! They have benches outside to sit if you want to eat your food there. If you're driving by make sure to stop for some great food!
google avatar

Gabriela G.

Yelp
Service was horrible! They didn't want to give my husband a taco he paid for, dude took off his black cooking gloves as if to fight OVER A FREAKN TACO! The lady with the mask RUDE AF! FOOD WASNT THAT GREAT EITHER!

Yelp
Leo's Tacos are known for their trucks that are strategically positioned across LA. I heard about the legend of Leo's Tacos when yelpers were doing taco truck crawls in Eagle Rock back in the day. I'm happy that I can go to their truck in long beach. They're A-OK. They say that they're known for their al pastor. I think it's just fine, particularly if I want something to eat after hours. Long Beach has some really nice taco options with Leo's, Angel's, Sonoratown, Guisados, Tacos La Carreta, Amor Y Tacos, and Taqueria Brand. We're lucky to have taco representation from so many regions of Mexico. This is what I go to if I want something really late night. Protip: you can ask for onions/peppers with your order and they give you a generous amount of grilled onions and spicy jalapenos wrapped in foil on the side.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't pay attention to the reviews. Go try the Al Pastor tacos. That's what they are known for. There is a reason why they have multiple locations across LA. I live in OC and would suggest this is probably the best Al Pastor around. Can't find much good Al Pastor in OC. This gets as close to Tacos Gordo feeling as you can get. I've also had their California Burrito and would say it's really good too.

Yelp
let me start off by saying I have heard a lot of good reviews about this taco truck. Upon my arrival, I noticed only one couple in front of me so I proceeded to wait in line and after the people in front of me ordered, I was next. There was no greeting for me or a simple can I take your order? I stood there waiting for 10 minutes just to see if any of the workers would greet me or ask if I needed any help, nobody did. There was a lady browsing her phone next to the cash register and I asked if they accept Apple Pay in which she responded yes so I asked if I order here and she said yes. I didn't want to make a thing of it, but usually establishments greet new patrons or returning customers when you arrive. I ordered my food, which was three Asada tacos and a bottle drink then paid and proceeded to wait for my food. As I went to the condiment stand to get sauces and cilantro, a guy's girlfriend decided to grab the condiments with her bare hands and walk deliberately in front of me, as if I didn't exist. I thought this was very rude. I backed away and decided to let them have their way so they could take care of their needs, and I will be able to take care of mine. once my food was ready, they handed me my bag. I asked if they needed the receipt. I don't know if he didn't hear me or maybe there was a language barrier, but I was ignored and basically sent on my way. Anybody trying this for the first time should know that I did not feel as if my business was welcome, despite the food being spectacular. It pains me to say I probably will not return to this spot until the customer service is improved upon and there are some better safety and health regulations or guidelines in place. I hope this review finds you well. Be blessed.

Yelp
Leo's Taco truck started in downtown LA and it's know for its Al pastor tacos. This place is hygienic and has some delicious Al pastor tacos. I used to visit the 600 taco truck but they skimp on the meat and it's not clean. Highly recommend this place
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
No price posted; everything is over priced! Theres better tacos trucks within 3-4 miles radius. I'm so disappointed.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
We took a trip to LA and stopped here for some late-night tacos and this place didn't disappoint. We tried the Al pastor tacos and I wouldn't say the prices are higher than normal. The tacos tasted good and authentic. They had a lot of toppings available for free and the fresa agua fresca was also great. The employee making the tacos was friendly and gave good meat portions. I will be back on my next trip

R K.

Yelp
Just okay. I've had better, I've had worse, so it sits right in the middle. The al pastor is shaved from the spit, grilled with some pineapple, and they give you some condiments to go with it. Nothing special so I wouldn't drive out of the way to get it.
google avatar

Marji S.

Yelp
We just love their food! The Al Pastor California Burrito is out of this world!!! We love to take out of town family there as a treat!!

Emily S.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious. We have tried the carnitas quesadilla, which is perfect because there is a lot of meat in it and it's not 90% cheese, the sopes which are perfection and the tacos. Their green avocado salsa is also yummy! Their carnitas are not dripping with oil, and you can taste the actual flavor of the meat.

Yelp
Had heard about this truck in LA but hadn't been and then it popped up in Long Beach and i always saw people there. Finally came to check it out on a rainy Saturday night and there were still people out there! We got 2 veggie burritos and a medium horchata for about $28 bucks. They have a great salsa and toppings bar as well. The burritos were solid and the horchata was delicious. Would definitely come back here!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Just OK. Had a carne asada burrito. The area around the truck was dirty and really should be kept nicer considering they have the use of the old Ralphs parking lot.

Ángel P.

Yelp
The Food was Good. Service was a little off im assuming it was the cold weather. Ambience is nice. Good salsa roja.
google avatar

Ladydi P.

Yelp
I am conv that people who frequent this truck have no idea what a good taco should taste like. I Libreville walking distance from it, but after a couple of different tries, I'll never go back. There is nothing on their menu to recommend it, and prices are high, especially for a food truck! It's too bad becau I really wanted to like it as a convenience, but it falls way too short!
google avatar

Ronald S.

Yelp
Overpriced and mediocre. I'm white and this is a more of a Mexican't than a MexiCan place. The cartel taco stands on almost every corner are so much better!! If you know, you know

Laura S.

Yelp
Worst tacos ever! No sauce, no cheese, nothing but meat no very tasty. And these people charge a dollar to use an ATM card. Are you kidding!
google avatar

Ally C.

Yelp
Bean and cheese burrito carne asada burrito 2 carne asada tacos. $27.00 - no flavor to the meat - way too expensive- had much better food from other places for less money-
google avatar

Bee O.

Yelp
The tacos al pastor were sooo good! A few small tables. A condiments bar. Easy parking.

Carl H.

Yelp
Loud speaker for a taco truck...till 11:30 PM? Any respect for the neighbors?...no. I wouldn't be as mad if the food made up for it...most bland burrito and salsa I've had in a while.

Kristy M.

Yelp
Terrible! Horrible! Dirty and terrible food. Terrible customer service! Awful and horrible.

Ruth V.

Yelp
Uno de los mejores tacos que me ha tocado probar , los tacos al pastor son mis favoritos

Meghan T.

Yelp
We have tried twice and just can't recommend. We were charged $3.50 per taco which consisted of one 3 inch tortilla and 3 silver dollar sized, ultra thin slices of meat. The "agua de fresa" was strawberry quick, or some other weird milky overly sweet substance. Seriously, my teeth were coated after one sip.

Cassandra G.

Yelp
I pass this taco truck everyday and decided to try it the other day. My usual order at any taco place is Cabeza, Lengua and Buche. So I was happy they have it but it was so bland and overpriced.. buche and cabeza was $2.25 each then lengue was $3. I can get those tacos for $2 at my fave taco place and they are delicious. I mean i guess if it wasnt that expensive it was okay. But like bland + overpriced ‍ their horchata tastes great tho not too sweet and not watered down.

K R.

Yelp
never have written a bad review but there's a first for everything. if i could give this truck zero stars i would. went when it was not even the slightest busy, they forgot to give me 2 tacos i had ordered. and the tacos they did serve me, had about 5 hairs in it. when i brought it to their attention they didn't even apologize for it, but rather 2 of their employees tried to deny it the taco had multiple hairs in it. and to put the cherry on top, they turned their lights off on us while we were eating (they were still supposed to be open for an another 40 minutes). to say this place was disappointing is an understatement.

Princess M.

Yelp
Lots and lots of toppings!! I love how they are open late and have seating. The al pastor tacos are really good but their food can get very pricey...but hey support small businesses

Juan D.

Yelp
Hands down best al pastor tacos. Not over seasoned like all other stands do. Cabeza and buche also top notch. Sadly in a neighborhood that doesn't appreciate a gem.

T. S.

Yelp
I've ordered the CA burrito twice, and my brother ordered the tacos. Great food, low key atmosphere, with a few tables. We enjoy the community feel.

Yeganeh Rene S.

Yelp
Horrible Taco's. Carne asada Taco's and carnitas were too crispy almost burnt like and the Al pastor had no flavor despite the pineapple at the top. Our regular taco guys on Los Coyotes didn't show up which is why we went tried Leo's tacos. Never again.
