My friend and I visited here for a quick bite and then chose two dishes under the "Thai Comfort Food" section of their menu, which I understand may not be a complete representation of their food, but they were enough for me to get a feel of what their food quality was like. Of course, I would love to return if I have the chance to do so.
I ordered the Ka Prao Kai Dao, which was ground chicken stir fried with onions, chili, basil, green beans over rice and topped with a fried egg. There wasn't much flavor beyond the chicken itself, and the chicken seemed to be relying on a sauce for flavor rather than seasoning. I couldn't really taste the basil or the chili. Plus the fried egg was overcooked. My friend ordered the tom yum noodle soup, and didn't comment much on the taste. I had a little bit of it, and decided that it didn't achieve a good balance between sweetness and sourness. It had some light creamy texture but that was about it. There was a lot of pork, which normally wouldn't be a problem for a dish like this. Personally I don't eat pork and couldn't really have the soup because the fatty pork was dominating both the taste and the oily broth, which I didn't like. However, I am fully aware that this is more so a problem that only I have. I just didn't want a tom yum soup to taste like mainly fatty pork.
With all that said, the Thai coffee was quite good, with a good amount of sweetness but not overwhelming. I noticed that they had no indoor tables and only countertop areas. My friend and I sat outside and had a good time chatting and dining.
