"Sometimes it’s hard to imagine a place with any kind of relative serenity in Shoreditch. But through all the bustle, ball pits, and streams of beer, there’s Leroy. This wine bar is a great spot when you’re in the area but also looking to escape the area. "A full bin is not great in hot weather. Nor is Shoreditch. Unless you’re in Leroy, that is. This European-leaning restaurant and wine bar is the place to be when the sun is shining, but you’d rather it shine on your glass of wine or your veal tartare on toast, rather than your face. It gets pretty buzzy here day or night, so you might need to call ahead to see if there’s a table or a spot at the bar to pitch up at. "Leroy has moved some letters about in its name (and yes, added one more) to launch Royale, a new rotisserie chicken delivery service. Half a juicy chicken, seasoned with their own blend of herbs and spices, will set you back £12. Or a whole bird with potatoes and salad to share is £38. "Two, or three courses: £22/£26 There’s no lack of restaurant options in Shoreditch, but Leroy is up there with the best. The low-key wine bar and European restaurant offers a changing set menu during the week with dishes like asparagus, courgette, and parmesan risotto, or a crunchy plate of baby turnips with whipped goats’ curd.
