Les Affranchis

"This young duo happily ignore the classics to create tasty cuisine, such as the œuf parfait façon carbonara ("perfect egg" with carbonara) or pollock with cauliflower, orange and botargo. An (excellent) place that is right at home in the bourgeois - bohemian 9th arrondissement." - Michelin Inspector

Great place, we went for lunch. The food and the service was great. Got a chance to try different dishes and the ravioli for me was the best! Its actually quite expensive for a lunch, it’s 60 euros for starter, main and dessert. We booked on the fork with 40% off so the price were ok but without it its a bit too much.

Must go. Absolutely flawless customer service and Delicious.... And very reasonably price. All my family composed of very demanding foodie were ravishing about each meals. I still believe I had the best of them the oeuf bio in entrée is going to stay in my memory. Recommended to friends and will be visiting at my return. Thank you for such a great cooking

We had just arrived in Paris and were looking for a good dinner, thankfully we got in here without a reservation and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal. Our CDC cards were accepted. Portion size was perfect (Wish they were this size in the US) and courses were not rushed. The egg appetizer course was delicious. My dessert was a mini soufflé and was fantastic. My friend had the Rum Baba.

We had a nice experience at les Affranchis restaurant. The food is really good (The carbonara style egg is delicious), the wine list is limited as several options were out of stock , the waitress was nice but the restaurant was completely empty so she could have offered us to try more desserts at the buffet :-)

Really wonderful. I had the crispy piglet and it was amazing. I also recommend the pork belly for your first course.

Google
Insanely amazing food and service. I docked one star for atmosphere bc it was a little toasty and there isn’t outdoor seating. Such creative dishes - do the tasting menu with wine pairing - you won’t regret it! Major bang for your buck… you get to taste so many things. The service was absolutely stunning too.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Paris and I can't visit Paris without a dinner here It's classical French food with a twist

Yelp
I waited before posting this to see if I really meant it, but the longer it's been the more annoyed I am that I wasted a meal on this place. Don't get me wrong, the food was okay. It was a decent fois gras and a nice piece of pork with great skin, but had I not written down what I ate I don't think I'd have remembered it. The experience didn't help. I actually decided on this one out of the many I wanted to try in the area because it was empty. Completely and totally empty. They treated me like a nuisance because I dined solo. They put me in a corner at a table for one.... The whole restaurant was literally empty. Mind you, there are 4 other restaurants across from it that are packed. I should have listened to Paris and followed their lead on this one. The wine has nothing special and there was no atmosphere to speak of, regardless of it being empty. For the price point and overall experience it's not one I can recommend to a local or a traveler.

Yelp
I may not know exactly what I ate but I do know that it was delicious! When my husband and I didn't have dinner plans on our second night in Paris, a bartender recommended we give Les Affranchis a try so we walked over and luckily were able to get a table since we were the first ones in that night. By the time we left the place was completely packed, so if you want to dine later I'd definitely make a reservation. The prix fixe dinner options were written on a chalkboard in French but luckily a server/manager was able to come over and give us a good idea of what each option was in English. Like I said, I'm not exactly sure what I ate, but if you take a look at my pictures you'll get the idea. We had chorizo to start and then for small plates my husband had a terrine and I had some kind of poached mackerel. For large plates my husband had Scottish beef and I had black pudding. The small plates were good but it was the large plates that stole the show. The presentation was beautiful and everything was just so full of flavor, in combinations you wouldn't expect. My black pudding dish had what I believe was some kind of apple pancake but then there was a chili sauce on the plate that added such a great twist to the it. To end the meal we had an amazing dessert which I also do not know the name of, but there was a piece of cake that was similar to a pound cake with cherries underneath and a pistachio whipped cream that you put on top. This was heaven for me...it reminded me of spumoni ice cream and I love spumoni ice cream! 2 thumbs up for great service and great food at Les Affranchis!

Yelp
Wonderful, perfect restaurant. A hidden gem in LE Pigalle. Our favorite restaurant with excellent food and wine pairings. Try the sea bass starter...

Yelp
Great service and amazing tasty food, I had the ceviche de bar (sea bass) to start then the volaille (chicken) and the saint-Nectaire cheese as a dessert. The dinner formula is 45€. The sizes are consequent, but remain very refined !! A must in Paris

Yelp
Waiters were so rude we left before even ordering. Left us waiting for 25 minutes with no one in the store and then had the worst attitude i have ever witnessed in paris. La honte

Yelp
Great Michelin romantic spot in Pigalle area of Paris! Don't know what the negative reviews here are about. They were nice and sat us (mid 30s couple from NYC) on Friday night around 8:30pm with no reservation. Wait staff quiet/shy but very nice and accommodating! Got the menuette menu (3 courses), 50€ per person and well worth it!! Delish!

Yelp
First things first, Les Affranchis is one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. This happened to be my local friend's favorite as well, given that she used to live nearby. Secondly, make a reservation a day before to secure a table because it gets really busy in the evening (after 8pm) and I have seen the hopes of countless eager foodies dashed. Now, let's get down to business. I would highly recommend whatever's on the plats du jour (dish of the day) as you can never go wrong. In a week, I visited this quaint restaurant tucked in a quieter corner of 9eme (closest metro stations: Pigalle or Saint Georges) TWICE - As a tourist, I almost never visit a restaurant more than once. For appetizers, I had different soups on both occasions. In my first visit, I had the creamy cauliflower soup that was so amazing. The texture of the soup was perfect - not too creamy, not too watery, not too granular, yet not too chunky. The taste was perfect - light, refreshing but really flavorful. In my second visit, I had the pumpkin soup (I usually hate all things pumpkins) and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it - no specific taste particularly stood out but it was really delicious and I really enjoyed it. For the main course, I had the grilled codfish which was heaven sent. It was grilled to perfection such that the outside was the right level of brown and crunch, yet the inside was not overdone. The fillet was perched atop a mini spinach hill that absorbed the accompanying sauce. All in all, the dish was simple, yet cooked so well that you'd want more. In my second visit, I had the duck breast confit which was probably the best I've had in Paris. Some restaurants make it too well done (even though I always only ask for 'medium') that the meat's texture is like leather. Others overfry the surface and undercook the inside, which just makes the texture weird. Les Affranchis does not of that and finds the right balance in texture (all boils down to perfect frying temperature). The slices were arranged in a fan-like display and was drizzled with some awesome sauce - utterly delicious! For dessert, I had the same chocolate grand marnier cake (because everything taste better with alcohol, ha!) and loved every single bite of it. You can tell that everything is made using the freshest ingredients and cooked on the spot. Even the cake had a crisp outer texture which feels like it is fresh off the oven. Definitely would recommend this to EVERYONE :D

Yelp
The ambiance, service and cuisine... impeccable. As I walked in, I were enveloped by a space that was warm and inviting with beautifully attuned acoustics. The service as a whole was perfectly Parisian with a honed ease, wit and, telling but never told, appreciation for the food and wine that was being served. The menu was curated with passion, purity and a precision that can only come from a true artist; therefore no shock when the dishes of deliciousness were presented like a piece of artwork. The product itself was fresh and along with the plates' centerpieces, came complementary tastes that were found throughout the delicately plated accouchements of lightly seasoned purees and sprigs of spring-like (edible) vegetation. From there, I could already forecast what this all meant for the dessert... Hats off to owner and Chef Bertazzo. Merci Encore!!

Yelp
Great service and amazing food for a reasonable price. Me and my friend paid a total of 130 euros for a bottle of Chablis and three course meals. Service was very attentive! Try the 65 degree egg for the appetizer and the meagre fish for your main course. Fish was cooked so well that it melts in your mouth :)

Yelp
They do not honor reservations, but I cannot speak to the food. The staff was impolite.

Yelp
Unprofessional waiter Food was good, no problem about this. The problem was elsewhere. The restaurant has two waiters, who may also be the owners of the restaurant, I don't know. One is very gentle and kind. The problem is the other waiter. This chap is sort of kind, as he makes some jokes and tries to by cheerful and funny to clients. The effort is appreciable, but unfortunately the result is quite disappointing. This is fine, not everybody has a natural talent to interact with people, but the REAL problem is - and now I get right to it- that a waiter should not upset his guests. I ordered a piece of meat and asked to have it well cooked. In reply I was told that this was not possible, the meat is only served as "bleu" or "saignante". Well, I asked if the cook could make an effort - I am sure it would not have been a huge one - to leave the meat just longer on the pan and have it well cooked. The reply was that the cook would have never accepted this and that I would have rather better to change my order. What I eventually did. I insisted to have the meat as I like it and everything what I had as reply was a snobbish NO, and an imperative: "Change your order, please". If I would have been alone, I would have left the restaurant at once, but as I was with friends, I did not want to spoil the dinner to my guests. Now, this is not a big deal, but just makes you very angry and, definitely, I will never go again to this restaurant just because of this stupid - and I could also say poorly silly - attitude toward their client. I put the blame on one guy only, the other was very nice and professional.

Yelp
Most visually and taste bud tinitllating experience--quite possibly one of my top 5 meals EVER. Started with the duck liver which came as two thick cut unadulterated pieces of pink organ rolled in warm cinnamoney spices, so rich I didn't think I could tolerate more than a few bites, but managed to eat a whole slice--best described as magical meat butter. The terrine is also tasty, but more like a crumbly gourmet spreadable sausage in comparison. The pan seared seabream came with orange curry foam (with just enough funk to make you check your armpits ;) surprisingly perfect pairing with beautiful carrots, calamata olives, beet slivers, and bitter greens. The pork loin dish was more like candied pork belly, very rich and satisfying. Topped off dinner with the citrus panna cotta which came with pink grapefruit sections topped with citrus sorbet/cream--the perfect refreshing ending to a perfect meal. We were very lucky to come around 7pm when they start dinner service to get a table without a reservation, several others were turned away since the reservations were booked for the evening.

Yelp
Expensive but great food, wine and lovely staff! Good atmosphere even on a Sunday night.
