15 Chic Courchevel Hotels for the Ultimate French Ski Escape | Condé Nast Traveler

"Palace pomp with Habsburg hunting-lodge theatrics meets chalet coziness here, a 1990s creation that swaps musty grandeur for wildlife murals, salons lit by chandeliers and dim sconces, and deeply comforting dining in raclette- and charcuterie-heavy Le Coin Savoyard (one of several on- and off-site options). Rooms go full winter fairytale with thick curtains, intricately carved balconies heavy with snow, and regal murals, while hammam showers and the La Mer Spa unknot post-ski muscles. Finely tuned service—spruce staff in traditional Savoyard dress deboning fish, shaking 7 p.m. cocktails, and easing boots—earns its “palace” status, with three ultra-private chalets accommodating up to 15 for high-altitude hedonism." - Rosalyn Wikeley

Having read a number of reviews focussing on poor service and rude staff, I wanted to share our experience this evening. My son and I were walk-ins this evening for a drink in the bar. We were welcomed warmly by the doormen who took our coats. We were greeted by the manager and interacted with many other staff members - all of whom were friendly, charming, attentive and professional. We ended up staying for three drinks and thoroughly enjoyed our evening because of the wonderful setting, atmosphere and service. Will certainly be back.

Les Airelles is an absolute dream come true! ✨ From the moment you step into this magnificent hotel, it’s clear you’ve entered a world of pure elegance and charm. The atmosphere is chic yet welcoming, with every detail thoughtfully designed to offer the utmost luxury and comfort. I’m completely in love with this place – it’s magic in every sense of the word! The service, the ambiance, the rooms – everything feels like a fairy tale. But let’s talk about that lunch buffet… OH. MY. GOODNESS. It’s out of this world! Every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The variety is incredible, and every bite is a little slice of heaven. Les Airelles, you've completely won my heart! I can't wait to return!

We had an amazing dinner experience at their buffet restaurant La tables des Airelles. Super rich buffet with top quality food, very good service and super professional staff. Although it is self service, you feel pampered by the staff taking care of all your needs. Keep up this good level, bravo…

Having experienced numerous tea times around the world, Les Airelles Courchevel truly stands out as the finest we've ever encountered... From the moment we arrived, greeted by traditionally dressed doormen, we were transported into a fairytale setting. The attention to detail is remarkable. From the enchanting decor to the impeccable service from both the buffet and bar teams 🙏 I'm particularly picky about hot chocolate and it's quite rare to find places that serve it the traditional way nowadays. At Les Airelles, it was absolutely perfect: thick, rich and traditionally made, just the way it should be and the pastry buffet was outstanding! For those looking to experience the unique Airelles universe, this afternoon tea is the perfect way to immerse yourself in their magical world, even if just for a few hours. A truly unforgettable experience!

I joined a group of friends for an indulgent, week-long ski vacation in Courchevel, and my experience as a guest at Les Airelles was fantastic. The concierge staff was incredibly responsive (and I had multiple issues, from where to get skiwear locally, to arranging a taxi from the train station) and I found all the customer-facing staff were engaged and helpful. Even the ski room experience is plush, where attendants help you in and out of your boots, and then offer you hot drinks or shots of genepi, the local herbal liqueur.||My room was lovely -- the design is Tyrolean-luxe. My breakfasts and the one lunch I ate at the buffet were all delicious (we typically ate off site for lunch/dinner). The place is expensive, but you do get the sense that the money has gone into maintaining a "palace" level (i.e., 5-star PLUS) hotel property, and recruiting a top-notch staff who are deft at satisfying a very discerning clientele.

We recently visited Les Airelles Hotel for dinner as Aman guests, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Before going, we called ahead to inquire about the corkage fee, as we were bringing our own champagne. We were told it would be a flat €40, which seemed reasonable. However, upon arrival, we were informed that we had misunderstood and that the charge was actually 40% of the bottle’s value. Given that we had a bottle worth €1,500, this meant we were being asked to pay an eye-watering €600 just for the privilege of opening it. This felt completely unreasonable and left a sour taste in our mouths. I’ve dined at numerous Michelin-starred and fine dining restaurants, and I’ve never encountered such an extortionate corkage fee. The food was really basic and overpriced. Really disappointed.

One of the historical hotels of Courchevel. We had our tea time there and that is an experience we highly suggest to everyone passing by Courchevel. The service is incredible, everyone is very nice and polite. The atmosphere is unique ... it cannot be compared to any other place! Fantastic

If I can put 0 stars I would but I can’t, very bad service very very bad. My family and I came in just to ask if we can have a reservation or talk to the reception for the restaurant or join tea time but the guards by the door didn’t even let us wait in the lobby they asked us to leave and even wait outside. One of us was able to go through them and talk to the reception but they didn’t even let us wait for her inside they made us wait out in the cold rain and snow. Very bad service for a 5 star hotel. Even when asked to browse the restaurant or speak with the receptionist, we were told it’s not possible. That we have to do it all by a call. Even though the receptionist is right in front of us and two steps away. What kind of 5 stars hotel asks a family to go outside and wait in the rain? And stops guests from browsing a hotel or even checking the restaurant? They were very rude. Stopping us from even taking a step inside physically standing in front of us and pointing for us to stand outside.
