The 20 Best Sports Bars In Philly

"This throwback Fishtown bar has lots of Eagles green and karaoke nights. But it still feels like the kind of place that you could show up to any time, grab an empty table when there's no game on, and get a $5 Citywide special. It’s also the kind of place that can get loud as the stadiums during kickoffs and tip-offs. While you’re here, you should also order a cheap beer or well drink and a solid slice of pepperoni that's ideal when you need something to line your stomach." - candis mclean

The Best Long Island Iced Teas In Philly

"This throwback Fishtown bar has lots of Eagles green and karaoke nights. So there’s only one drink to order when you’re in a celebratory or belt-your-heart-out kind of mood. And it’s this half-iced tea, totally gin-forward beauty. " - candis mclean

Google
Greatest dive bar in Fishtown! Family owned and operated. Pop up restaurants in their kitchen on Saturday thru Tuesday. Cheap beer buckets and cocktails. Bartenders are absolutely awesome!

First stop on our day visit to Philly. Clean and cute little bar. Smells really nice for a corner bar:)

Google
Amazing lil dive bar! Me and my girlies went for karaoke on a Saturday night and had a blast. Doreen and her BFF were bartending and were so sweet but they are definitely in charge so don’t cross them. CASH ONLY but there’s an ATM on site. I will definitely come back!!

Google
Great classic neighborhood bar. Beer is cheap with a decent draft variety. Only 5 on tap, but usually Miller High Life, Bud, and 3 local selections. Good bottle selection, typical bar food, but the bartenders are super nice. Don't be a dick, or you're gonna have a bad time. Parking is rough, since it's street parking in a residential area in Philadelphia.

Will Wall

Google
This is bad the bartender gets drunk and can't figure out his elbow from his ass. Terrible terrible bar. Place is dirty crappy hole in the wall.

Theodore “Theo” McNamara

Google
The happiest place on Earth. Disney could never create a better atmosphere or have $2.50 beers.

Niall Segundo

Google
place rocks. no frills, cash only, cheap booze

Google
Great neighborhood bar with low prices and friendly service and patrons. A citywide is $5. Don't hesitate to stop in for a nice time.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Whether it's the Hams buckets, the local chatter from the regulars, the awesome bartenders (Bill, Shannon, Gerry, etc), the different pop-up food specials served out of the tiny side window outside, the payphone still in operation, the gambling machines, the jukebox music playing (but NOT while the games are on), etc. I could go on and on. Parking is a bit of a bitch, but that's okay as it's worth it. My husband and I feel like we're at our home away from home when we come here and that's exactly how it should be! CASH ONLY AND ATM AVAILABLE. The Happy Tap is just that, a no-frills bar with a lot of character!

Yelp
Great neighborhood dive! They have karaoke on Saturdays and bring in different chefs on the weekends. The staff are all super friendly too!

Yelp
Spent Friday night at Les & Doreen's Happy Tap. A place that can definitely help you forget about the pandemic. Simple, cheap, and tasty drinks in a lively atmosphere make this dive worth a stop. Quality: Les & Doreen's Happy Tap is a bar that meets its expectations. If you come in thinking you will get fancy cocktails or craft beers, you will not be happy. But if you come in expecting strong drinks and cold beer, you won't want to leave. Quantity: Solid pours for each cocktail ordered. Value: Deals abound, so check out the wall. Under $7 for most beers. Under $10 for most simple cocktails. Ambiance: Les & Doreen's Happy Tap is a corner dive bar located in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia. It is a long skinny space with the bar stretched along the far wall. That wall is covered in advertisements and deals for the different drinks on discount. Opposite that wall are a few additional stools and a tiny wall bar with enough space to put a drink down. This wall focuses on sports memorabilia and posters. Toward the front of the bar there is a small entertainment machine and in the center a digital jukebox. Keep an eye on who is hanging out near the jukebox as it may dictate what music plays for hours. Crowd: Our small group brought some life to the bar, but there were a fair amount of regulars already hanging out. A cheerful scene, despite the circumstances. Service: The bartender was great and funny. Knew how to handle a small crowd while keeping the drinks flowing. Parking: Some street parking can be found in this residential area.

Yelp
Great dive bar, wonderful beer selection and lots of local brews to choose from! Pop up kitchen was a great surprise! Lovely friendly staff!

Yelp
Thank you so much Doreen for having us during our annual " Twisties Annual Train Wreck" pub crawl... You and your staff were the best... You are right, your tavern is a good ol' time neighborhood bar and we all had a ball !! Your place was clean along with a friendly staff and patrons... We all hope to be back soon....

Yelp
Came here because I'm opening a business on Girard Ave... and it's definitely a great dive. My kind of bar where you can chat with the regulars and get the drinks your in the mood for. Cheap beer too. I am a craft brewer and opening my own taproom in fishtown, but this This will probably be my own secret watering hole. There is something great about the local neighborhood corner bar that makes you feel comfortable. I absolutely love it. Great people, Great bartenders (assuming they are owners), and great atmosphere.

Yelp
What can I say - Doreen is a godsend! This is a local joint and felt like the King of Fish Town when we were in there The bartender at Mexican place down the street wouldn't even look at us, let alone serve us

Yelp
Looking forward to the end of covid so we can enjoy this true neighborhood bar. There are lots of neighborhood bars but Les and Doreen's is the only one where I see all of fishtown coexisting. It's a great mix of old and new neighborhood members with killer karaoke and oddly enough some if the best thai food coming out if their pop up kitchen on Saturday's called spicy time. It's so delicious

Yelp
Not sure what the appeal of this place is. Terrible beer selection. People smoke inside. It was horrible for my allergies. The night I went with friends, they had awful karaoke. I'm talking, karaoke so bad it sounded like a sick moose being anally violated by a cow. Tons of hipsters there on a Saturday night, tho--I really can't figure it out. Hearing a guy BUTCHER David Bowie's "Heroes" was enough for me. I won't be back.

Yelp
This place is an original OG of the 19125. We came here when a local at the king-fu necktie bar suggested this spot for some cheap drinks and food. We are new to the area but wanted a real philly dive bar experience. We got it! This place is great, the people are friendly, the staff is friendly, cheap drinks and they have a kitchen that's open till 12 on the weekends!!! We have been here twice- Had a burger and BLT with fries. The fries are nice and crispy and the burger and BLT were yummy + cheap drinks... You cant go wrong. If you want a friendly neighborhood bar this is a great bar. It's kinda like a little hidden gem in a random neighborhood.

Yelp
Les and Doreen's is an institution that I warmed up to quickly after I moved to the neighborhood. It's where I first learned that I was a yuppie (a label later to be rescinded after a night of getting tanked with some local guys), it's where I first learned of the wonders of the bucket of ponies, and it has become the perfect end to any disaster/wonderful evening. At any given time (day or night) you will find the bar stocked with hipsters, old drunks, local gals out for a night of fun, or a dozen gay men. If you're lucky, it'll be all of the above. I have seen women dancing on the bar get hit in the head with the ceiling fan. I've seen a gay man humping a bar stool. I once got into a protracted argument with a delusional New Yorker about how the fact that he made sure to mention his Ferrari made him the biggest douche-bag I've ever met (the fact that he lives in a tiny apartment in NNJ put him into the running for biggest douche-bag worldwide). Karaoke night is something that you won't believe until you experience it. The bartenders are top notch. Mixed drinks are strong and cheap. Beer is cold and never empty. These women are pros. They may not be 18 year old blondes in bikinis, but damnit, they know how to keep you lubricated. The food is greasy, cheap, and perfect for the location. They actually make a decent steak sandwich, which is nice. L&D's is always a bad decision and a great time!

Yelp
First things first so you don't go getting all confused. Les n' Doreen's Happy Tap is a real live Fishtown bar. It's a dive bar, a neighborhood bar, a cheap as crap, sometimes loud, always smoke filled, half depressing/half fabulous dive bar. You are not getting fancy craft beers here and you will like it. I live one block from L&D so it's my corner bar and has saved me from being sober when broke or too tired or cold to venture more than a block from my house on many occasions. Some advice for the ladies- are you pretty, even remotely so? You will get hit on or stared at. Expect it, embrace it even. The drinks are dirt cheap and poured to please. They seem to specialize in buckets of pony bottle beers, something that seems embedded into Fishtown culture. I think my favorite drink, Jameson (well, it's Powers really but they don't have it) and ginger is like $2.85 or $3.15 or something crazy like that. The bottled beer selection isn't half bad and they also sell it to go. The jukebox is surprisingly good but if you're really lucky you'll witness or even partake in the karaoke. I think it's every Saturday night but don't quote me on that. They even had it during that crazy blizzard of '09 when I may or may not have belted out Poison's Nothin' but a Good Time on the microphone. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to travel to L&D but the one block voyage really does float my boat.

Yelp
Favorite Fishtown bar hands down. Drinks are cheap and are weird prices like 2.60 for a whiskey and diet coke. Cheap beer, they carry local microbrew so even beer snobs can get down. Staff is friendly, the regulars are quite varied in age and drunkeness, and they have food which I have never tried. Come at like 8 on a Friday for karaoke, be sure to eat a pickled tomato

Yelp
Some nights, this is the perfect place. The Karaoke is fun and casual. The drinks are stiff and cheap. And there is usually something good on the HD flatscreens. I watched most of the Summer Olympics there, and I quite enjoyed it. However, this is definitely a local bar. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. But if you live nearby, or are in the neighborhood, it is a good time. Warning! Smoking is allowed and seemingly encouraged.

Yelp
Love this place and the people behind the bar. Drinks are cheap and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm back in my small hometown.

Yelp
Small dive bar with cheap drinks that allows smoking. We were there on a Saturday night and they had Karaoke. It was actually pretty fun. The bathrooms are small and not very clean. The crowd was friendly and the fireworks they shot off on the corner around 1am were fun to watch.

Yelp
I visited Philly back in February with a couple of buddies and so we stopped by this local bar in Fishtown. Les and Doreens offers good drinks for cheap, friendly locals and a amazing bartender. Doreen is a sweetheart and her happy tap is a true hidden gem in Philly. Ill be making sure to stop by next time I'm in Philly

Yelp
If you look up "neighborhood dive bar" in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Les & Doreen's Happy Tap. You gotta respect a place that is what it is and makes no apologies. Do not go here if you are: sensitive to cigarette smoke, looking for a selection of microbrews, boring Do go here if you are: on a budget, looking for a cheap late night snack (they have a very extensive diner-like menu), wanting to do karaoke on a Saturday night, sick of kraftwork Enjoy!

Yelp
This establishment is the epitome of dive bar. We were looking at houses in the neighborhood and stumbled in to catch the end of the Penn State game. Much to our delight, the youngest patron was around 75. It was 2 pm, and everyone was loaded cracking inappropriate jokes. The bartender clearly knew everyone and we were reminded of a Cheers atmosphere where everyone knows your name. The bottle selection was decent, and to our delight, the jukebox was playing Motown music. It had a Megatouch machine: we were sold. We came back later that night and were delighted to see they had Karaokee with no line. At night there were a lot of younger hipsters. Surprisingly, the local older residents and hipsters got along well and cheered each other on for karaokee. Some dancing ensued. We decided to try their nachos and were amazed at how good they tasted. Definitely will be coming back...

Yelp
Visited Philly from California and had a couple hours to kill before checking in to our air b & b so we went to this bar since it was the only one open at 8am. Needless to say, myself and a couple buddies were welcomed by the best service and best people we could have imagined! Doreen is an amazing woman and if I am ever back in Philly I will make sure to stop by again!

Yelp
I LOVE this place. The bartenders are always so sweet and kind. The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is lively. The crowd is a wonderful mix of old and new fishtown residents and everyone seriously has a great time together. Down to earth, good old fashioned fun.

Yelp
Les and Doreen's is my jam, I don't even care. One time I went, there were f*cking corgis walking around. A great mix of diehard Fishtown residents and hipsters. Such an interesting crowd. You can easily get the bartenders to open up and have fun. The drinks are dirt cheap -- $3.50 for a rum & coke and it ain't skimpy, either. Take out beer. I haven't eaten the food because I'm a little scared of it. Some 50-something year-old dude is always putting Pink on the jukebox. This is the best place to go if it's raining or snowing and you just want to walk up the street and get drunk. It reeks of smoke in a very endearing way, but I haven't seen anyone smoke in there in a while, I wonder what's up with that.

Yelp
I love this place sooooo much, would give 5 stars but I can not stand cig smoke!! I have a "Les and Doreen's tuxedo" that I've reserved for going here. It's old sweats and ratty t shirt, and i fit right in. So close to perfection.....

Yelp
Les and Doreen's is a great little neighborhood dive bar. It is literally down the block from me so it's a perfect place to start/end my night. Lots of cheap beer and mixed drinks, happy patrons, friendly bartenders, and 80's/90's spectacular music. You used to be able to smoke there so your coat would reek of cigarettes but not anymore so that's a plus. It's definitely a weird mix of folks but people always seem to be drunk and having a blast. Quizzo is great and the DJ is really sweet. Oh and Doreen will whisper answers to you if you are struggling. What a lady.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
My favorite neighborhood bar. Sharron is the best! Always keeping our bottles full! I hear the food is pretty good too, but I haven't had the chance to eat there yet
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
Great corner bar, and if ya ever have a hangover they open at 7am lol.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Bartender was kind of rude, but this place is cheap and for a dive bar it hardly had any dive bar regulars in it. It was semi busy on a Monday night, mostly a younger crowd. They only have chips and crackers for food.
google avatar

Luke D.

Yelp
Les & Doreen's Happy Tap is without question the greatest neighborhood bar in the city of Philadelphia. If you're looking for reasonably priced drinks, friendly bartenders, and exciting clientele, you've found the spot. Show up any time with a friend or two and order a beer. Before you know it, you'll be drawn into the cozy atmosphere and wondering why you ever went anywhere else.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a dive bar with locals. Always quiet. Very chill and good environment. Plus they do take out beer which is awesome

Yelp
What a great little neighborhood bar in Fishtown. The place has a great mixed crowd. I like to go in here late night on Saturdays for the karaoke debacle. Its hilarious. Place is a total gem! Kinda reminds me of the Star Wars bar. Things can get totally weird and I like it.

Yelp
First things first: The smell! Cigarettes are smoked in excess and everything smells like the nicotine stains on the back mirror. Some of the regulars look like they are growing roots and have given up on...well, everything. DO NOT EAT THE FOOD!!! Drinks are poured well and are fairly priced. Draft beer should be avoided due to the gamble of flatness, staleness, and environmental pollution. The glasses are normally clean and the beer is cold so it's not all bad. Mixed drinks are good and you get what you pay for. Atmosphere: The people are generally nice and quite fun to hang around. Quizzo is lots of fun and the Quizzo DJ is a fun dude! The bartenders are polite and will not rip you off if you drink a little too much. Take-out is well priced and is preferable in price to some other places in the neighborhood. I would not take a first date here but would get ripped with some of my closest male friends here. The pool doesn't get much deeper for a dive bar but sometimes you need a place to get trashed on the cheap in sweatpants.
