The 38 Best Restaurants in Honolulu, Hawai‘i | Eater

"You’ll find Honolulu’s best banh mi here, served in the perfect Vietnamese baguette — crackly on the outside, white bread soft on the inside. While nearly every other place that sells banh mi buys their bread, owners Chi Lam and Minh Tuan Le make their own, as they do almost everything that goes in the sandwiches. My favorite is the Saigon Special, with the pork four ways (love that pate), but the roast pork, prepared like the crispy-skinned Chinese version, is also popular. It’s just sandwiches and drinks here: Get the coconut coffee, like a Vietnamese affogato. Know before you go: It can get busy, and there are only a few tables, so call in your order ahead of time if you don’t want to wait." - Martha Cheng

Google
It's one of the best Bahn Mi shops on the island! The place is small but has a good amount of outdoor seating. I tried the Saigon Special and Roasted Pork. The bread was really good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The Roasted Pork is more or less chopped crispy pork. Both are really good. Check them out!

Google
Best banh mi I’ve had on island: perfect bread-to-filling ratio, freshly made baguette with a thin, crisp crust and housemade roast pork - complete with skin bits! The sauce was so well-balanced, the perfect blend of sweet and tangy without overpowering the crunchy veggies. Looking forward to trying the others on the menu.

Google
This place is by far the best banh mi shop on Oahu and probably the best across Hawai'i. First, every sandwich is made-to-order so don't expect your food to come out immediately like how most vietnamese delis often are, but I promise it's worth the wait. Second, the menu is quite small. There's essentially only four main items, that being the Saigon Special, Roast Pork, Lemongrass Chicken, and Lemongrass Tofu/Mushroom. Personally, I consider this a good thing because it focuses on perfecting a few things rather than having ingredients sit around for items that aren't as popular. Third, the cost per sandwich was $11.50 each. Seeing that we live in the most expensive state and a subway sandwich will run you up to $20, I think it's a reasonable price. Lastly, the vietnamese coffee is very strong but still great. My favorite vietnamese coffee is at Bella Banh Mi Cafe in Liliha which is a close second for my favorite banh mi shop on Oahu but the difference isn't by much so you can't go wrong regardless. The hard truth is that good vietnamese food is hard to come by in Hawai'i. This is obviously a subjective opinion but being from California, I'm used to all asian food being a certain type of way and most of the food here has disappointed me over the years. Le's Sandwich is one of the few exceptions and I'm so glad I found it.

I got to try their lemongrass chicken banh mi and "WOW," it was great, so tasty. Moreover, they were very friendly and helpful and their place is so beautifully arranged. This is definitely a gem.

Google
Excellent freshly made lemongrass banh mi ! The space is spotless and the help is welcoming. It’s a busy place during lunch hour but plenty of table seating on the deck. Can’t wait to try another banh mi next time. Surcharge of 3% if paying by credit card. Best to park at Walmart and walk across the street. Although they do have valet parking if desired.

Google
The Saigon Special and Roast Pork Banh Mi are my faves!!! The bread is light and crispy but still holds up well, even when stuffed with all the delicious components 😋 The roast pork is juicy and tasty with pieces of crispy skin. I like that it's chopped into smaller pieces so it's easier to eat. The Saigon Special is filled with 2 types of pork rolls, ham, char siu, pate, pickles, mayo, cilantro and cucumbers. Everything is fresh and perfectly seasoned! And I appreciate that they take the time to carefully put together beautiful sandwiches.

Google
Delicious banh mi! I got the roasted pork which was tender juicy bites of pork belly. The fresh cilantro jalapeno cucumber and carrots give it a freshness with crunch. Also, the bun was a perfect vessel for this! It was soft yet crunchy and didn't ruin the top of your mouth. I also tried the sea foam coffee - it was tasty. A little on the sweet side but the sea foam adds a nice salty touch. I would order both again. Great local spot.

Google
In A Nutshell: -Le's Banh Mi is hands-down the best banh mi I've eaten. -Get their Roast Pork Banh Mi, it's so good. -Crispy bits of skin w/ moist pork on a perfect banh mi roll make this a delicious sandwich. -Their Vietnamese Coffee is also very powerful, I always go all black baby. -Their customer service is phenomenal too. Overall, you can enjoy your sandwich(es) right outside their door on a nice, sunny Hawaiian day overlooking parts of Honolulu.

Yelp
Probably hands down the best Banh Mi I've had. The baguette is perfect, the pickled veggies, paired with the cilantro, cucumber and jalepeno is perfect with every bite. I always recommend lemon grass chicken for the newbies, and for advanced, I recommend the roast pork add pate! I'm a traditional banh mi kind of girl, so I always get the Saigon, extra pate. (something in my little heart sings that it's called Saigon)! Don't forget to call in your order, cause parking is kind of a nightmare, so you can run up fast kine! I always get my sandwich with a Coconut Water, but you can't beat their combo with a coffee!! Great price, my go to 10/10 recommend. They have little tables for you to enjoy with a friend right outside the shop. It's located on the third floor and parking is in the 808 valet.

Yelp
The Roasted pork was succulent, so juicy juicy juicy, with crackling skin. I was biting into heaven. Really good Vietnamese sandwich on the third floor to the right hand side. We had the roast pork sandwich and it was fresh and delicious. The meat was tasty and tender with lots of flavor. The pickled daikon and carrots were sweet, the fresh herbs and vegetables added more freshness to the mix. The sliced jalapeño gave it an extra kick of spiciness. And can't forget the bread, it was crispy and soft, nicely baked to perfection. It doesn't get better than this. I call in for my order but somehow it failed to pass through to the kitchen. The gentleman at the cashier was really nice and gave me a discount plus 2 extra baguette for the mix-up. Plus the sandwiches came out in 5 minutes so not a big deal at all. I would come back for more!

Yelp
Everything is so so good!!! This place is located on the third floor. You cannot really see it from the street. Lots of street parking around the strip. Those fresh baguette's are freaking banging delicious!!! The Lemongrass chicken is amazing! The Roasted Pork, incredible. Thai tea is yummy. Please don't come here if you are picky and want to eliminate an item or sub something on these sandwiches. They are perfect as is. So honestly please stay away If you want to change anything on these suckers! Service is fast . English isn't the greatest, but easy to order anyway. We ordered and had sandwiches in about 7 minutes. We outside on the veranda. Ample seating. 4 tables that two top seating. $28 for two sandwiches and the Thai tea. Amazing price! Freaking cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
One of my favorite banh mi spots on the island. The bread is fresh baked and beautifully crunchy/flaky without being too hard. The Roasted Pork banh mi is absolutely to die for. The pork skin is so deliciously crispy, and the flavorful sauce is the perfect complement to the pork and veggies. The Lemongrass Chicken banh mi, while it can't beat the roast pork, is a close second and also a great choice. The combo pricing with a Vietnamese iced coffee is the way to go when you need a caffeine hit as well. I do suggest going in/calling in as early as possible, as by 12:30/1pm, they tend to start running out of the roast pork, chicken, pate, and bread. The last time I went, I phoned in an order for the lemongrass chicken because I was told on the phone that the roast pork was already sold out. When I got there 15 minutes later, there was a line out the door and I overheard the cashier telling the customer ordering that his choices were tofu or nothing. Located in the 808 Center, which has its own parking lot that is valet-only, but there's also ample street parking available around the area. The shop is small with just a couple tables inside and a few more outside on the walkway/lanai. The interior is trendy and the workers are all very friendly. All in all, a great spot that I regularly visit at least a couple times a month.

Yelp
Le's is one of the best spots for Bahn Mi in Oahu. A small menu that consists of perfected sandwiches, you can't go wrong with any of their options. Keep in mind that this restaurant is not open for dinner, though we all hope that it will be in the future.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, so I finally made the drive into town from Ewa Beach. I tried calling ahead, but the call went straight to voicemail. The message was outdated--saying they'd be closed for a short time in April--even though it's now June 2025. Parking wasn't the easiest, especially if you don't have someone to drop you off and pick you up. When I walked in, there was no greeting or acknowledgment--just a straight-faced man who took my order without much expression. The food came out pretty quickly though--two Combo #1s were ready in under 10 minutes. My boyfriend had the special, which he loved. The bread was perfectly crispy, and he said it tasted like an authentic Vietnamese bánh mì, complete with spicy peppers. I had the roast pork sandwich, which I liked, though I would've preferred the meat to be sliced rather than chopped. The bread was a highlight for me too -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Good sandwiches with Vietnamese coffee for the combo. Will be back and maybe try something different

Yelp
Le's Bahn Mi is a little bahn mi shop on the 3rd floor of Sheridan & Rycroft. There's valet or street parking available for you to park at. This shop has a few table and chairs indoor and outdoor the place to enjoy your meal at. They have various different bahn mi options to choose from such as roast pork, tofu, mushroom and shrimp. The sandwich was good, but not my favorite. The meat was better than the bread. Le's also serves Vietnamese coffee and teas to choose from.

Yelp
Fantastic fresh Banh Mi, crunchy bread and delicious fresh vegetables, roasted pork, Saigon special or chicken. coffee is strong and delicious. We have been all over Orange County CAlifornia trying Banh Mi. And this place is way better. OC is kinda the Mecca of Banh Mi outside of Vietnam, and this Banh Mi place blows all of them Away.. Get there early, this place sells out all the time before they close. It's that good!

Yelp
the banh mi is amazing! the bread is the star. It's so light, crispy and airy. Today I walked and made myself walk during lunch to here to get the Saigon Special. There's a constant flow of people going in and out picking up orders, ordering, in and out of people. I can eat the bread by itself all day everyday. yum!

Yelp
Dare I say this is my favorite banh mi on island? The roast pork and the lemongrass chicken bang mi are amazing. The bread is so light and crunchy in the right areas. The roast pork was amazing, crunchy perfect amount of meat. Yum I'm getting hungry just thinking about it ! We also had a Thai coffee and it was strong and just the right amount of sweetness!! I can't wait to come back, I've been recommending Le's to all of my friends. They're located on the second floor. Street parking is easy to find. Lots of seats outside and a few inside as well.

Yelp
One of my top two bahn mi spots! I thought I did this review earlier but as usual, I did not. This place is a little further away for me but definitely worth it. It's located in the 808 Center by Walmart. I loved my Saigon Special bahn mi and Vietnamese coconut coffee! The sandwich was a good portion, bread was perfect- a little crispy, still soft on the inside, a little chew, there was a nice amount of pate and the mix of pork products was yummy and well seasoned. Yay for not putting cilantro as requested!!! Always a highlight for me. The Vietnamese coconut coffee was something I've never had before and I really enjoyed it. Nice bitter coffee flavor which is to be expected and it was offset nicely with the coconut slush which wasn't too sweet at all. Will definitely be back! So sorry didn't post this sooner it's prob been like a year SMH.

Yelp
The place is small but has a good amount of outdoor seating, clean and bright. It's located on the very top floor of this interesting little complex. Lots of cute shops, coffee, eateries to explore here, all small locally owned joints so its a great breakaway from touristy spots. This bahn mi shop is good, a solid offering. I can't say its the best in the region, but is certainly satisfying. Lot to explore in this building, so definitely worth the hang out, explore and experience. The service staff are efficient. I tried the Saigon Special and Roasted Pork. The bread was really good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The Roasted Pork is more or less chopped crispy pork. Both are really good. Check them out!

Yelp
Our new favorite spot for banh mi! We decided to try this place just off of the good yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! We got the roast pork and lemongrass chicken banh mis and both were amazing! The roast pork was so soft with crispy edges and the lemongrass chicken had a sweet bbq sauce on it that was so flavorful. Bread was crispy on the outside and really soft inside. There's lots of nice outdoor seating on the balcony so we were able to bring our dog. I think you have to pay for parking here so we just parked across the street at walmart and walked. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Le's Banh Mi will be CLOSED 3/29-4/14 for renovation. The business reopens 4/15. Le's Banh Mi has become an obsession of mine. I'm hooked on the freshly made Banh Mi. I personally love the lemongrass chicken, though the Saigon special is delicious too. The bread is perfectly crisp, light and fluffy. The sandwiches are made to order, and with care. Service is consistently kind and quick! Be sure to support this local business! Plenty of seating and tables inside and on the balcony area. Though I've never ate in, I usually order for takeout! Warning: They are closed on Mondays!

Yelp
The BEST place for banh mi! I come here about once a month with different groups of people for lunch. Everyone I've brought here also agrees this is one of the best banh mis they've had on the island. The bread here is so fresh and light which is the main difference compared to other restaurants where I'm usually breaking my jaw chewing on hard bread. I've tried the roast pork, lemongrass chicken and lemongrass tofu with mushroom (you can request combination of both). My favorite is the roast pork - the crispy pork skin with the sweet glaze along with the pickled daikon goes so well together. You can also make it a a combo with a Vietnamese iced coffee or tea for about $17. The restaurant is quite small with only 3 tables inside but there's a few additional tables along the side of the railing. A lot of times it looks packed but people tend to eat quick and seats open up by the time your food is ready. I would suggest calling in your order if you decide to come late afternoon. Sometimes they completely run out of bread before they close at 4pm which is understandable because they're so dang good!

Yelp
Favorite banh mi spot on island thus far! PARKING: We parked on the street for ease, but believe there is a small lot dedicated to business patrons of the building. INTERIOR: Small shop, clean and brightly lit. There are a few dining tables outside. FOOD: Banh mi is the highlight and for good reason. The banh mi is so tasty! We ordered the tofu with mushrooms which is absolutely delicious, as well as the chicken which is equally as tasty. The bread is fresh and soft on the inside but crispy on the outside, the portion of protein is generous, and the pickled carrots & daikon fresh and crisp. We also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee which is refreshing and tasty. We always call ahead and just pick up, it is so easy to just take-out (and seems to be the intention of the shop as well).

Yelp
Lets just get this out if the way, should be a 6 star cause that bread is in its own category. Located on a third floor plot this modest shop is slinging some heat w their banh mi sandwiches. Simple setup w a few tables inside and more located outside on the walkway to enjoy what is a very underserved sandwich market in honolulu. Fresh bread that has a perfect crusty texture but dont be fooled cause that bite is a perfect crunch to pull ratio. Soft and chewy inside to nestle in one of 3 sandwich options. Pair w a Vietnamese coffee and you got the perfect meal to carry you through the rest of the day. On this stop I had the roast pork. Perfect crunchy skin thrown in like a shake of bacon bits, and crunchy veg inside w some a good heat kick. Though just visiting, im already plotting a way to maybe hit this again before leaving the island in a few days.
google avatar

Chantal M.

Yelp
Always fresh bread perfect texture and doesn't get hard if saved for the next day. Chicken, Pork, vegetarian and the special all well priced and delicious! Service is good, but the lady owner NEVER smiles or says thank you.‍I would say I go 2-3 times a week for months now. It does get busy regularly so best to order in advance 15-30 minutes. You can purchase the bread separately but order in advance cause during busy times they won't allow you to buy it. It's a tiny bright clean cafe with tables inside and some outside. They open at 7:00 am so I pick up a bunch for people at work.

Yelp
I dont know what an authentic sandwich should taste like. I just know what my taste buds like, plus what I grew up eating (basically from Kahala Mall Bale). So I won't compare, but rather simply say that i tried the Saigon special and tofu/mushroom banh mi sandwiches. Both were good, but rather sweet. I could see how the tofu/mushroom would be sweet, as the tofu/mushrooms are cooked in a sauce, but i expected the Saigon special to be salty especially with the pate. Both could use more veges though. The bun is nice, it didn't hurt my mouth, but I also ate it at home so they had time to get a little soggy. The strawberry tea was a good compliment. Ill definitely go back but will ask them not to put whatever sauce they used on the Saigon special. Parking was somewhat easy on the street, just fed the meter. Was nice that they had patio seating and even allowed dogs. I called in my order after reading other reviews (thanks yelpers!), so made my first visit so easy!
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
It's a small spot but there's plenty of outdoor seating. The bread tastes fresh and handmade from the first bite/taste, so for those that love banh mi, this is definitely a must-visit. Food came right on time despite how busy they got, so props to the staff for being able to create such delicious food on a busy timeframe - Miguel Morales Photography
google avatar

Yelp
I say this without exaggerating. Hands down the best banh mi I've ever had. We had the original and the roasted pork and both were amazing. The bread is perfectly chewy and flaky without ripping the roof of your mouth open. All the flavors and proportions worked perfectly together. The pate they use is definitely made in house. I wanted to go back again during our day stay in Waikiki, but sadly didn't have time. I'll be back one day! Until then, I'll be dreaming about this sandwich.

Yelp
Wow! After being let down by Bahn mi's lately this was an amazing turn around!! Way to go Le's!! We got 2 pork belly Bahn mi's and a lemongrass chicken Bahn mi and a Vietnamese coffee. $39. Each had a burst of fresh flavors. With unique and delicious flavors. They all had crispy bread and juicy meet and great tasting veggies. The lemongrass chicken was my favorite. Nice touch putting the sandwiches in labeled bags!!

Yelp
12/28/24 @1240 Located on the 3rd Floor, you are greeted by a huge good luck bamboo plant. The place is small with a few inside tables and also available is outside tables. It's clean and bright. The menu has a few items which helps you to make a decision. Having only a few items, allows them to concentrate and focus what they do best which is of course Bahn Mi. I ordered the roast pork Bahn Mi and it was tasty. The bread was perfect. It was crunchy and not thick where it takes away from the fillings. The pork was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh. It came out pretty quick after ordering and the presentation was on spot. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I will definitely be back! The only thing is the parking. It's either the valet or street parking. I guess you can go park at Walmart as well. Overall an excellent experience.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
They are located in the 808 building on the 3rd floor. Parking is a headache. I phone ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches and one with no cilantro. When I got there the guy at the register who also was answering the phone and was running all over the place to the back and to the front. And when he handed the bag to me of course there was cilantro in both... only reason why I give it 4 stars. The sandwich was good and the bread wasn't too crispy. It was soft but crispy at the same time.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I came back to le's banh mi. I've been to several other ones here and there but none compares to le's. It's something about their bread that is so magical! I'm quite the picky eater especially when it comes to Vietnamese food - but this shop is by far the best on the island. They are located on the 3rd floor in the 808 center which is next to the Walmart in town so you know the parking is kinda tricky especially when you don't want to valet your car. But! If you go on a Sunday you can park on the street and it's a short walk over. Most of the sandwiches cost about $10 average which seems to be the going rate right now. I've tried the Saigon special, roast pork, and the Vietnamese coffee and it surely did not disappoint. It seems like their hours aren't as long as before, but they seem to be open most days and quite early. Their store is small but it's bright and very clean. They surely try their best with how busy they are and with the staffing they have. They have indoor and outdoor seating available - most people tend to sit outside. It did get kind of crowded inside tho as they have rushes here and there for lunch.

Yelp
Really loved their lemongrass chicken banh mi since they give a big portion of chicken and their bread isn't so hard that it breaks the roof of your mouth. The price isn't too bad and they have lots of outdoor seating. I also got their strawberry iced tea which had chunks of strawberries inside.
google avatar

Amy Y.

Yelp
I LOVE sandwiches! This banh mi spot opens early in the morning. Located at the 808 Center on the 3rd floor. There's a few seating inside and outside. We decided on takeout since there's minimal parking. We did a phone order for the Saigon special (variety of meat) and a lemongrass chicken. It was about $11.50 for each sandwich. They make it fresh when ordered. The bread was toasted and was crispy. The meat and vegetables had a balance amount portion. The sandwich was delicious!

Donna Chantal M.

Yelp
I love their Bahn mi always fresh and generous at only 12.00. It's a very limited menu, pork lemongrass chicken, special combo and vegetarian options. Tofu or mushroom. They make their own bread and it's nice because their bread is still soft the second day. I've had some Bahn mi that the sandwich bread gets hard as a rock same day not theirs! What I love is that they open at 7:00am I call in an order before I go to work and have it for lunch! They've added some outdoor seating, which is nice. If they have enough, Supply, you can order the bread separately which I've done on occasion.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by my daughter's nail tech saying it is the most authentic bahn mi places on the island that she's eaten at since moving from Vietnam. Parking is valet - 1st hour free if dining at the restaurants there (just need to tip the attendant). Restaurant is on the 3rd floor (same building as Margaritaville). Our party of 4 went and I had the $16 combo - Roasted pork sandwich with Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The bread is made in-house - nice and crispy on the outside & light and soft on the inside. The pickled veggies had a little kick to them since there was jalepeno, but not to the point where I couldn't eat it. Meat was tender with pieces of crunchy skin. I only ate half of my sandwich since it was so filling - wrapped the other half for another meal ;)
google avatar

Suzanna M.

Yelp
This is one of the best banh mi sandwich I have ever had. The bread is very fresh as well as the veggies. The roast pork and lemongrass chicken are very juicy and flavorful. The prices are a bit high. The restaurant is very clean with clean rest rooms. You need a code to use it. I would say that parking is challenging.
google avatar

Yelp
Mmmm, looking for a really good Vietnamese sandwich? Your search is over :) It's the bread! Super fresh with a hint of sweet crunch. Soft in the middle and big enough to hold their generous portion of filling. It's the flavor! Lemongrass chicken was so delicious and the lemongrass tofu was equally tasty. The Saigon Special was full of flavorful ingredients. Their iced Vietnamese coffee was smooth and strong. Really hit the spot. Also, it was super helpful that each paper bag is conveniently labeled with the type of sandwich. Thank you, we shall return to try other menu items.

Yelp
Hubby and I came here to grab some coffee before heading out for the day. We wanted to get some Vietnamese coffee and see how it would taste here vs back home. I looked around and was able to find Le's Banh Mi. As we were walking up the stairs where Le's Banh Mi was located at, Hubby was telling me how it reminds him of Vietnam. The atmosphere and the location with the slight humidity reminded him of Vietnam. It's a nice cozy little spot. Once we arrived we looked at the menu real quickly and went with the Vietnamese Ice Coffee. We didn't have to wait too long to get our drink. Staff was friendly and kind. They didn't rush us as we were looking at the menu. Drink came out fast and delicious! Will be coming back here when we are back in Hawaii for more coffee and maybe a Banh Mi next time!

Yelp
Banh mis and coffee, what else do you need? Le's Banh Mi is my favorite type of spot- they have their speciality with a few different variations but that's it! No Cheesecake Factory sized menu here. This is a fast casual spot on the 3rd floor and has a few tables inside and outside on the patio area. I brought my dog with me and we enjoyed our banh mi and coffee outside. Service was great, we ordered at the counter and then when our sandwich was ready- they found us outside! I would suggest NOT eating their banh mi in your car. A true sign of a crusty baguette.... it is very flakey and crumbs will get everywhere. I got the Sai Gon Special combo that also comes with a vietnamese iced coffee. Name a better duo- I'll wait!!

Yelp
Got lazy and UberEats delivered our Sammie's and they are still excellent and delicious down to the last bite!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Yelp
Always come here, it's great every time! Huge fan of the Saigon special and the roasted pork sandwich! I love ordering extra sauce with my banh mi & sea foam coffee is great! Call in your order so it's ready when you come!

Yelp
Highly Highly recommend eatery for that BANH MI sandwich fix. So Yummy I tell you. What i tried - Their Roasted pork sandwich and their Lemongrass chicken sandwich both sandwiches are so GOOD & YUMMY and very well portioned out with the meats. If your undecided on what to get just get both (ahha) Cause that's what I did and their good. They also have a tofu sandwich and another special one which I hope to try on the next visit to this eatery spot. They also serve coffee drinks as well. Parking - Not to sure if this building there at offers parking cause I Believe they don't have a parking structure but I could be wrong. So what we did was park at another parking spot and walked to this eatery spot. As for TABLES and CHAIRS they have about 3 small tables inside of the eatery and also about 4 tables outside as well. (Good to know kine things) specially if you want to eat there. Their located on the 3rd floor of this building their at so you can take the elevator or walk up the stairs.

Yelp
Amazing banh mi, got the Saigon Special. Bread was light and tasty and the steamed pork roll, charsiu, pate all worked well together and was adequately balanced with the insides. Sits on the third floor of a nice building but there's plenty of seating to enjoy the breeze and buildings. Decor is also very cute and the workers were nice - got my food relatively fast even with a longer line.

Yelp
Had high hopes with all the rave reviews, but not impressed with this banh mi shop located on the top floor of the 808 Center. Cashier/front house staff not so friendly...not even a welcome or much less a smile when walking in. Limited sandwich menu. In fact, they have more drink offerings than food. Ordered the Saigon Special and the lemongrass chicken banh mi sandwiches ($11.50 each). For takeout, it was well wrapped. Baguette remained crispy on the outside and was not soggy on the inside despite the pickled veggies. Another plus is that they make their own French loaves, so it's fresh and adds that freshly baked bread scent to the establishment. However, the banh mi overall was lackluster. The Saigon Special had almost no taste. I couldn't taste any of the meat in it. Also, there were way more carrots than daikon for the pickled veggies, and the cilantro was mostly stems that were hard to bite. The lemongrass chicken banh mi was better...at least it had more taste, but it didn't quite have that lemongrass flavor. To me, it was more like teriyaki chicken. I did like the jalapeno added in, especially as no hot sauce was offered. I think there is better banh mi to be found in town and at a lower price.

Yelp
Located on Sheridan Street on the 3rd floor above Margaritas, Le's Bahn Mi is serving up delicious food! We ordered the Roast Pork Bahn Mi combo with the Vietnamese Coffee. The sandwich was delicious with chunks of juicy roast pork, crispy pork skin, pickled veggies, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeños. It was sheer perfection. The Vietnamese Coffee was strong and lightly sweet. Parking can be a little hard but the building has valet. There is also very limited seating but worth grabbing and eating elsewhere if there's no tables. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ever since l've had a roast pork banh mi in California, it's been a mission to find a place back home that can match the deliciousness of that sandwich. I'm happy to report that l've finally found it at Le's. The crispy pork skin adds an extra layer of depth and texture that's simply amazing. Everything in the sandwich tastes fresh and even the bread is baked in-house. I've also tried the special and while it's good the roast pork is the star of the show. Service is friendly and quick, it takes about 10 minutes to get our sandwiches whenever we go. There's a few tables if you decide to dine in, or you can enjoy your sandwiches right outside with some tables and chairs. So, if you're a fan of banh mi and are craving some delicious roast pork, head on over to Le's!

Yelp
After my "near death experience" with another well known banh mi with secret hidden jalapeños... I made sure to specifically ask if there were any included here. I was met with quite the judgemental tone (rightfully so) when I asked to 86 the pickled veggies lol. Was hoping to sub with lettuce or some other veggie but there is none available. So with my odd request I was asked, "so just bread and meat?" Well since you put it that way, um ya *le sigh*. At that moment, I've never felt more basic in my entire life! With all that being said, the bread and meat banh mi was still super good! I am not one to enjoy spending outside monies on sandwiches but every now and then I could justify a really good banh mi. I can confirm that this spot is well spent outside monies for just a sandwich! Parking sucks for this building but I normally meter street park around the area and walk.

Yelp
One of those days where I was craving a special banh mi sandwich and ended up on Sheridan st. This place is cranking out delicious banh mi sandwiches, of all variety, but like any purist, I go ahead and get the Saigon special with an ice coffee (combo 1.) Amazingly fresh/soft bread with a crusty exterior, that pate is certainly homemade and delicious, just the right amount of veggies, meats and sweet mayo. Customer service here is kind and ran out my food to outside where we were having a small lunch. Delicious ice coffee with enough condensed milk; have to remind myself to get the coconut coffee next time. This place is on the third floor of a building complex, next to all kinds of other businesses, good place to explore and support local shops. Beware though, parking is horrid here, and not too many trash receptacles, but Le's was worth the small hassle of parking down the street. Le's is cozy. Line moves quick and all menu boards appropriately in eye view. Next time we will be extra classy and valet park the whip.

Yelp
I got the combo 1 with roasted pork. Absolutely delicious sandwich. The bread is fresh and crispy, the pork is juicy and they put in a lot too. I've had a few banh mis around Honolulu and have to say this is my number 1 spot. The vietnamese coffee is alright, nothing special. I'll have to try the Vietnamese latte next time. The parking for this area is a a hassle which is the only bad thing I can say. I'll definitely be back here again and again for lunch.

Yelp
Finally got to check out this place! They are located in the 808 Center on Sheridan St. I ordered their Saigon special and my hubby ordered their lemongrass chicken banh mi. We also ordered their Viet iced coffee too. The Saigon special which is like the original Viet banh mi comes with pate and charsui and steamed pork. If you prefer something more tasty then order their lemongrass chicken banh mi. Great spot to pick up banh mi sandwiches if you're in the area!

Yelp
I think I found my favorite banh mi place! It's taken..what 2 years? for me to actually try this place. Their bread for the sandwich is like crunchy/crispy but not like where it hurts the roof of your mouth (as mentioned by my bestie Kelly D.) My favorite is the saigon special (with everything in it)with their iced coffee combo! Le's Banh Mi is located in the 808 Center on the third floor. Walk up the stairs as your workout before eating! The place is small and it does get crowded during peak times. They have a few tables inside and outside as well. I do suggest calling in your order so you won't have to wait long. They do have a section of 15 minute parking if you're just picking up your order and a small parking lot with an attendant monitoring. Ever craving for banh mi, I do recommend Le's Banh Mi!

Yelp
My favorite banh mi! Le's only serves banh mi and drinks so it's no wonder - they're so specialized and everything tastes so good. I've had Le's lemongrass chicken sandwich to go before, but today was my first time eating in and everything tasted even better! Le's is located on the third floor of the shopping center and has cafe style indoor and outdoor seating. If you dine in, you'll order at the counter and they'll bring your food to you. I got the lemongrass tofu and mushroom banh mi today and my bf got the roast pork. For drinks we didn't need too strong of a caffeine boost (I'm sure the coffee is super strong!) so we got the peach tea and strawberry tea which hit the spot. The cafe was super busy, even for their hidden gem location, but nevertheless food and service were spot on + there wasn't a long wait for everything to come out. Will be back soon!
