One of my favorite banh mi spots on the island. The bread is fresh baked and beautifully crunchy/flaky without being too hard.
The Roasted Pork banh mi is absolutely to die for. The pork skin is so deliciously crispy, and the flavorful sauce is the perfect complement to the pork and veggies.
The Lemongrass Chicken banh mi, while it can't beat the roast pork, is a close second and also a great choice.
The combo pricing with a Vietnamese iced coffee is the way to go when you need a caffeine hit as well.
I do suggest going in/calling in as early as possible, as by 12:30/1pm, they tend to start running out of the roast pork, chicken, pate, and bread. The last time I went, I phoned in an order for the lemongrass chicken because I was told on the phone that the roast pork was already sold out. When I got there 15 minutes later, there was a line out the door and I overheard the cashier telling the customer ordering that his choices were tofu or nothing.
Located in the 808 Center, which has its own parking lot that is valet-only, but there's also ample street parking available around the area. The shop is small with just a couple tables inside and a few more outside on the walkway/lanai. The interior is trendy and the workers are all very friendly. All in all, a great spot that I regularly visit at least a couple times a month.
