The 38 Best Restaurants in Honolulu, Hawai‘i | Eater

"You’ll find Honolulu’s best banh mi here, served in the perfect Vietnamese baguette — crackly on the outside, white bread soft on the inside. While nearly every other place that sells banh mi buys their bread, owners Chi Lam and Minh Tuan Le make their own, as they do almost everything that goes in the sandwiches. My favorite is the Saigon Special, with the pork four ways (love that pate), but the roast pork, prepared like the crispy-skinned Chinese version, is also popular. It’s just sandwiches and drinks here: Get the coconut coffee, like a Vietnamese affogato. Know before you go: It can get busy, and there are only a few tables, so call in your order ahead of time if you don’t want to wait." - Martha Cheng

Google
One of the best banh mi’s we’ve had. This place is way better than all of the viral spots you’ll see on TikTok. The bread is crunchy and soft and doesn’t tear up your mouth. The meat and fillings are fresh and so tasty. Best of all it’s not like one of those behemoth sandwiches. Great place to eat before you go Ala Moana.

Google
Wow this bread is really good. So crispy and flaky on the outside, and soft pillowy on the inside. The filling of the sandwich is where they lose some stars from me. It is really sweet, too sweet for me. This is more like a dessert sandwich, which confuses me. I would only come back for the bread

Google
Fantastic tofu Bahn Mi! Some Bahn Mi’s have too much bread to filling ratio but not Le’s! It’s packed with amazing tofu and veggies! Will definitely be coming back.

Google
Excellent freshly made lemongrass banh mi ! The Vietnamese Iced coffee was delicious but strong! The restaurant space is spotless and the help is welcoming. It’s a busy place during lunch hour but plenty of table seating on the deck. Can’t wait to try another banh mi next time. Surcharge of 3% if paying by credit card. Best to park at Walmart and walk across the street. Although they do have valet parking if desired.

Google
The Saigon Special and Roast Pork Banh Mi are my faves!!! The bread is light and crispy but still holds up well, even when stuffed with all the delicious components 😋 The roast pork is juicy and tasty with pieces of crispy skin. I like that it's chopped into smaller pieces so it's easier to eat. The Saigon Special is filled with 2 types of pork rolls, ham, char siu, pate, pickles, mayo, cilantro and cucumbers. Everything is fresh and perfectly seasoned! And I appreciate that they take the time to carefully put together beautiful sandwiches.

Google
I got to try their lemongrass chicken banh mi and "WOW," it was great, so tasty. Moreover, they were very friendly and helpful and their place is so beautifully arranged. This is definitely a gem.

Google
It's one of the best Bahn Mi shops on the island! The place is small but has a good amount of outdoor seating. I tried the Saigon Special and Roasted Pork. The bread was really good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The Roasted Pork is more or less chopped crispy pork. Both are really good. Check them out!

Therese H.

Google
Best banh mi I’ve had on island: perfect bread-to-filling ratio, freshly made baguette with a thin, crisp crust and housemade roast pork - complete with skin bits! The sauce was so well-balanced, the perfect blend of sweet and tangy without overpowering the crunchy veggies. Looking forward to trying the others on the menu.

Yelp
Really good banh mi. Worth it. But first what I wish all reviews for this place started with LOCATION: It is on the third floor of the corner building kitty corner to Walmart parking garage. Parking is awful (I think it's 30min valet) and signage is terrible so I almost couldn't find it. I ended up parking on the street. The menu is limited but that's why you come here. Because you want amazing Banh Mi. I loved the chicken one. With that hint of spice from the jalepeno I think. There's really nowhere to sit in the store but there are a lot of tables just outside you can sit on. Bathroom is on the 2nd floor I think. Location is terrible trying to figure out parking etc but the banh mi is spectacular.

Yelp
Taste: 5 Creativity/Authenticity: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Bang for your buck: 5 I came just for the coffee alone but left with the Saigon special banh mi and tbh better than Vietnam!! Yeah I was just there and it's the fresh ingredients which makes it stand out, one of the most solid banh mi I've had. The coffee too, which they have the salt coffee which I absolutely love in Vietnam and this place has it!! Overall this will be my go to spot for Vietnamese coffee and now banh mi!! Thanks for the food

Yelp
Really need a Vietnamese Coffee buzz and found this place to be high on the list of recommendations. Parking is fairly okay to do street side for the 808 center, may need to look around for a bit. The location is on the third floor. Very simple store with no frills decor or service, but very good coffee. Since it is pre-made, cannot make alterations. However overall excellent.
google avatar

Kacie S.

Yelp
Fave banh mi place on the island. Bread is so fresh and crunchy. Roasted pork is always fire. Decent sized sandwich for the price. Coffee was super strong and yummy. Located on third floor of 808 center (behind Walmart ish). Usually can find street parking or just park at Walmart and walk over. Great service. Some tables, but pretty small inside.
google avatar

Yelp
Great banh mi. not huge, but the Special sandwich is packed with meat, pate, veggies, and 2 huge slice of jalapeño peppers that most places don't give you. make sure tell them put them in side if you don't like hot. Also bought them at 8am in the morning on a Sunday, where else can you find these hours ! perfect if u need snacks/ meal for kids games/ events. Sunday morning street parking was easy..Catch elevator to 3rd floor or take the stairs. Clean/newish building

Yelp
@fortunefoodfinds: "Don't BAGUETTE to smile today! A Roasted Pork n' a Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi Combo 1 that's paired with a Vietnamese Ice Coffee from Le's BANH MI located at the 808 Center. Whether you dine-in or grab to-go, you can find their scrumptious sandwiches on the top floor just so you know!" Staff: friendly Interior: small, very limited seating, maybe 2 parties max. Surprisingly was able to fit our very large stroller. Exterior: on 3rd floor, elevator available, some table seating Wait time: 10 mins Parking: valet, metered street Overall comments: you get a Vietnamese ice coffee in Combo 1, which I believe saves you $1. The bread was crisp on the outside n' soft on the inside. The roasted pork had the crispy skin n' succulent meat while the lemongrass chicken was flavorful n' tasty. The pickled n' fresh veggies brought the sweet crunch. Both sandwiches were yuMmmy!
google avatar

Yelp
The Roasted pork was succulent, so juicy juicy juicy, with crackling skin. I was biting into heaven. Really good Vietnamese sandwich on the third floor to the right hand side. We had the roast pork sandwich and it was fresh and delicious. The meat was tasty and tender with lots of flavor. The pickled daikon and carrots were sweet, the fresh herbs and vegetables added more freshness to the mix. The sliced jalapeño gave it an extra kick of spiciness. And can't forget the bread, it was crispy and soft, nicely baked to perfection. It doesn't get better than this. I call in for my order but somehow it failed to pass through to the kitchen. The gentleman at the cashier was really nice and gave me a discount plus 2 extra baguette for the mix-up. Plus the sandwiches came out in 5 minutes so not a big deal at all. I would come back for more!

Yelp
Bread was breading, fillings filled to the brim, and tastes were tasting amazing. I was surprised to see a spot with so many good reviews (cautiously optimistic?) but honestly, I can see why. This spot is tucked into the 3rd floor at a complex with other eateries and can be easy to miss if you're not looking from the street. The interior is small but bright and cute and the outdoor tables are a great vibe. You order at the counter and there are a mix of banh mi, viet coffees/teas. We pulled through with a matcha so can't comment on the viet coffee, but others seemed to really enjoy it. Now for the banh mi, your girl had to get the mixed tofu and mushroom one (you can do both or either one of the two as your veggie option). The banh mi are not playing AROUND. The bread is super crisp crunchy without being hard and the inside is fluffy perfection. The pickled veggies and jalapeno topping are A+ and they do not skimp whatsoever. My friend's lemongrass chicken banh mi was also bustin at the seams. My only qualm was that the tofu/mushroom was a biiit sweeter than I'd like but I think easily fixed with more jalapeno or chili sauce. You get great quality and quantity for the price and service is super friendly. Street parking in the area isn't bad either! Come thru and support this cute business with some of the best banh mi I have had in a while!

Yelp
Super delicious I went with my sister. She got the lemongrass chicken and I got the Saigon special. The baguette was really warm and crispy. I also ordered a peach tea and she got the coffee with foam. Service was super fast and easy. I ordered mine as a combo. I like how quiet it was and it was only down the street from Walmart .
google avatar

Jess C.

Yelp
Wow, this place is so good! They absolutely nailed the bread which was fresh and crusty. The pickled vegetables and herbs were the perfect amount with the right acidity, so I didn't need to pay extra. But the best part was the delicious, roasted pork inside that complemented the bread and vegetables perfectly. My husband and I are split on which we prefer; I'm a fan of Le's, and he prefers No Name. Both have less-than-ideal parking. I love that Le's is open early, but remember you have to go around back to find the stairwell.
google avatar

Kayla T.

Yelp
Always delicious and can't go wrong!! Located in 808 Sheridan center with limited parking. The restaurant is located on the third floor. This place is always busy so give it some time or place a phone order. My favorite is the tofu and mushroom with extra jalapeños or the Saigon special. Not only the bahn mi but the Vietnam coffee is a must. So sweet and delicious!!
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
The banh mis here are amazing. The roast pork is the standout for me because the meat is juicy and tender with perfectly crispy skin. The bread is everything a good banh mi should have, warm and airy inside with just the right amount of crust on the outside. Every bite hits that perfect combo of crunch and flavor. The Vietnamese coffee is nice too, a little lighter than I prefer but still smooth and refreshing. This spot really knows how to make a satisfying, well-balanced banh mi.
google avatar

Danan F.

Yelp
Everything is so so good!!! This place is located on the third floor. You cannot really see it from the street. Lots of street parking around the strip. Those fresh baguette's are freaking banging delicious!!! The Lemongrass chicken is amazing! The Roasted Pork, incredible. Thai tea is yummy. Please don't come here if you are picky and want to eliminate an item or sub something on these sandwiches. They are perfect as is. So honestly please stay away If you want to change anything on these suckers! Service is fast . English isn't the greatest, but easy to order anyway. We ordered and had sandwiches in about 7 minutes. We outside on the veranda. Ample seating. 4 tables that two top seating. $28 for two sandwiches and the Thai tea. Amazing price! Freaking cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
One of my favorite banh mi spots on the island. The bread is fresh baked and beautifully crunchy/flaky without being too hard. The Roasted Pork banh mi is absolutely to die for. The pork skin is so deliciously crispy, and the flavorful sauce is the perfect complement to the pork and veggies. The Lemongrass Chicken banh mi, while it can't beat the roast pork, is a close second and also a great choice. The combo pricing with a Vietnamese iced coffee is the way to go when you need a caffeine hit as well. I do suggest going in/calling in as early as possible, as by 12:30/1pm, they tend to start running out of the roast pork, chicken, pate, and bread. The last time I went, I phoned in an order for the lemongrass chicken because I was told on the phone that the roast pork was already sold out. When I got there 15 minutes later, there was a line out the door and I overheard the cashier telling the customer ordering that his choices were tofu or nothing. Located in the 808 Center, which has its own parking lot that is valet-only, but there's also ample street parking available around the area. The shop is small with just a couple tables inside and a few more outside on the walkway/lanai. The interior is trendy and the workers are all very friendly. All in all, a great spot that I regularly visit at least a couple times a month.

Yelp
Loved everything about this banh mi. The baguette is all about texture- crunchy outside pillowy inside and the lemongrass chicken / roast pork is flavorful and plentiful. Fresh veg and pickled veg balance everything out. And definitely get a viet coffee to cool the jalapeno that looks like a cucumber slice. A very good combo. $11.50 sandwich, $5.50 Vietnamese coffee. Metered parking around the area was plentiful if u dont mind a short walk then up to the 3rd floor of 808 Sheridan. Charming, but limited seating along the balcony.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, so I finally made the drive into town from Ewa Beach. I tried calling ahead, but the call went straight to voicemail. The message was outdated--saying they'd be closed for a short time in April--even though it's now June 2025. Parking wasn't the easiest, especially if you don't have someone to drop you off and pick you up. When I walked in, there was no greeting or acknowledgment--just a straight-faced man who took my order without much expression. The food came out pretty quickly though--two Combo #1s were ready in under 10 minutes. My boyfriend had the special, which he loved. The bread was perfectly crispy, and he said it tasted like an authentic Vietnamese bánh mì, complete with spicy peppers. I had the roast pork sandwich, which I liked, though I would've preferred the meat to be sliced rather than chopped. The bread was a highlight for me too -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Good sandwiches with Vietnamese coffee for the combo. Will be back and maybe try something different

Yelp
Le's Bahn Mi is a little bahn mi shop on the 3rd floor of Sheridan & Rycroft. There's valet or street parking available for you to park at. This shop has a few table and chairs indoor and outdoor the place to enjoy your meal at. They have various different bahn mi options to choose from such as roast pork, tofu, mushroom and shrimp. The sandwich was good, but not my favorite. The meat was better than the bread. Le's also serves Vietnamese coffee and teas to choose from.
google avatar

My My N.

Yelp
the banh mi is amazing! the bread is the star. It's so light, crispy and airy. Today I walked and made myself walk during lunch to here to get the Saigon Special. There's a constant flow of people going in and out picking up orders, ordering, in and out of people. I can eat the bread by itself all day everyday. yum!
google avatar

Russ L.

Yelp
The place is small but has a good amount of outdoor seating, clean and bright. It's located on the very top floor of this interesting little complex. Lots of cute shops, coffee, eateries to explore here, all small locally owned joints so its a great breakaway from touristy spots. This bahn mi shop is good, a solid offering. I can't say its the best in the region, but is certainly satisfying. Lot to explore in this building, so definitely worth the hang out, explore and experience. The service staff are efficient. I tried the Saigon Special and Roasted Pork. The bread was really good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The Roasted Pork is more or less chopped crispy pork. Both are really good. Check them out!
google avatar

Ngan S.

Yelp
Le's Banh Mi in the 808 Sheridan building (3rd floor) is great for fresh banh mi! As a Vietnamese foodie, I can vouch for the fresh, crisp-outside, pillowy-inside baguettes that make every bite amazing. We had the Saigon Special and Vegetarian Banh Mi, both packed with flavor and the coconut Vietnamese coffee was a creamy, dreamy must-try. Lunchtime gets busy with a steady line and lots of take-out orders, but it moves quick. Parking is valet or street, and seating is limited inside and outside, so plan ahead. Heard the roast pork is incredible, so I'm already plotting my next visit.
google avatar

Rachael K.

Yelp
Le's Banh Mi will be CLOSED 3/29-4/14 for renovation. The business reopens 4/15. Le's Banh Mi has become an obsession of mine. I'm hooked on the freshly made Banh Mi. I personally love the lemongrass chicken, though the Saigon special is delicious too. The bread is perfectly crisp, light and fluffy. The sandwiches are made to order, and with care. Service is consistently kind and quick! Be sure to support this local business! Plenty of seating and tables inside and on the balcony area. Though I've never ate in, I usually order for takeout! Warning: They are closed on Mondays!
google avatar

Lexi H.

Yelp
The best banh mi we had in Hawai'i! We had the pork & lemongrass chicken. So crunchy & also priced well! Coffee & tea was ok, 3.75/5.
google avatar

Ay T.

Yelp
Ordered via uber eats, so I can't speak to ambience or service. Roasted pork bahn mi was full of flavor with crunch to the pork and crisp veggies. The bun was flakey and light. Delish!
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
It's a small spot but there's plenty of outdoor seating. The bread tastes fresh and handmade from the first bite/taste, so for those that love banh mi, this is definitely a must-visit. Food came right on time despite how busy they got, so props to the staff for being able to create such delicious food on a busy timeframe - Miguel Morales Photography

Yelp
Finally remember to leave a review after many orders. Best Banh Mi place on the island. My go-to banh mi has always been the Sai Gon special (and one time was lemongrass chicken) and for my boyfriend it's the roasted pork. My workplace has also ordered from this place a couple of times for whenever we have meetings and everyone loves it. Highly recommend to call ahead to avoid long wait times.
google avatar

Damian M.

Yelp
Le's is one of the best spots for Bahn Mi in Oahu. A small menu that consists of perfected sandwiches, you can't go wrong with any of their options. Keep in mind that this restaurant is not open for dinner, though we all hope that it will be in the future.
google avatar

Scott O.

Yelp
Wow! After being let down by Bahn mi's lately this was an amazing turn around!! Way to go Le's!! We got 2 pork belly Bahn mi's and a lemongrass chicken Bahn mi and a Vietnamese coffee. $39. Each had a burst of fresh flavors. With unique and delicious flavors. They all had crispy bread and juicy meet and great tasting veggies. The lemongrass chicken was my favorite. Nice touch putting the sandwiches in labeled bags!!

Yelp
Favorite banh mi spot on island thus far! PARKING: We parked on the street for ease, but believe there is a small lot dedicated to business patrons of the building. INTERIOR: Small shop, clean and brightly lit. There are a few dining tables outside. FOOD: Banh mi is the highlight and for good reason. The banh mi is so tasty! We ordered the tofu with mushrooms which is absolutely delicious, as well as the chicken which is equally as tasty. The bread is fresh and soft on the inside but crispy on the outside, the portion of protein is generous, and the pickled carrots & daikon fresh and crisp. We also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee which is refreshing and tasty. We always call ahead and just pick up, it is so easy to just take-out (and seems to be the intention of the shop as well).
google avatar

Dwayne F.

Yelp
12/28/24 @1240 Located on the 3rd Floor, you are greeted by a huge good luck bamboo plant. The place is small with a few inside tables and also available is outside tables. It's clean and bright. The menu has a few items which helps you to make a decision. Having only a few items, allows them to concentrate and focus what they do best which is of course Bahn Mi. I ordered the roast pork Bahn Mi and it was tasty. The bread was perfect. It was crunchy and not thick where it takes away from the fillings. The pork was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh. It came out pretty quick after ordering and the presentation was on spot. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I will definitely be back! The only thing is the parking. It's either the valet or street parking. I guess you can go park at Walmart as well. Overall an excellent experience.
google avatar

Moani K.

Yelp
Dare I say this is my favorite banh mi on island? The roast pork and the lemongrass chicken bang mi are amazing. The bread is so light and crunchy in the right areas. The roast pork was amazing, crunchy perfect amount of meat. Yum I'm getting hungry just thinking about it ! We also had a Thai coffee and it was strong and just the right amount of sweetness!! I can't wait to come back, I've been recommending Le's to all of my friends. They're located on the second floor. Street parking is easy to find. Lots of seats outside and a few inside as well.
google avatar

Lily D.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I came back to le's banh mi. I've been to several other ones here and there but none compares to le's. It's something about their bread that is so magical! I'm quite the picky eater especially when it comes to Vietnamese food - but this shop is by far the best on the island. They are located on the 3rd floor in the 808 center which is next to the Walmart in town so you know the parking is kinda tricky especially when you don't want to valet your car. But! If you go on a Sunday you can park on the street and it's a short walk over. Most of the sandwiches cost about $10 average which seems to be the going rate right now. I've tried the Saigon special, roast pork, and the Vietnamese coffee and it surely did not disappoint. It seems like their hours aren't as long as before, but they seem to be open most days and quite early. Their store is small but it's bright and very clean. They surely try their best with how busy they are and with the staffing they have. They have indoor and outdoor seating available - most people tend to sit outside. It did get kind of crowded inside tho as they have rushes here and there for lunch.
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Our new favorite spot for banh mi! We decided to try this place just off of the good yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! We got the roast pork and lemongrass chicken banh mis and both were amazing! The roast pork was so soft with crispy edges and the lemongrass chicken had a sweet bbq sauce on it that was so flavorful. Bread was crispy on the outside and really soft inside. There's lots of nice outdoor seating on the balcony so we were able to bring our dog. I think you have to pay for parking here so we just parked across the street at walmart and walked. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Chantal M.

Yelp
Always fresh bread perfect texture and doesn't get hard if saved for the next day. Chicken, Pork, vegetarian and the special all well priced and delicious! Service is good, but the lady owner NEVER smiles or says thank you.‍I would say I go 2-3 times a week for months now. It does get busy regularly so best to order in advance 15-30 minutes. You can purchase the bread separately but order in advance cause during busy times they won't allow you to buy it. It's a tiny bright clean cafe with tables inside and some outside. They open at 7:00 am so I pick up a bunch for people at work.
google avatar

Kanani C.

Yelp
I dont know what an authentic sandwich should taste like. I just know what my taste buds like, plus what I grew up eating (basically from Kahala Mall Bale). So I won't compare, but rather simply say that i tried the Saigon special and tofu/mushroom banh mi sandwiches. Both were good, but rather sweet. I could see how the tofu/mushroom would be sweet, as the tofu/mushrooms are cooked in a sauce, but i expected the Saigon special to be salty especially with the pate. Both could use more veges though. The bun is nice, it didn't hurt my mouth, but I also ate it at home so they had time to get a little soggy. The strawberry tea was a good compliment. Ill definitely go back but will ask them not to put whatever sauce they used on the Saigon special. Parking was somewhat easy on the street, just fed the meter. Was nice that they had patio seating and even allowed dogs. I called in my order after reading other reviews (thanks yelpers!), so made my first visit so easy!
google avatar

Amy Y.

Yelp
I LOVE sandwiches! This banh mi spot opens early in the morning. Located at the 808 Center on the 3rd floor. There's a few seating inside and outside. We decided on takeout since there's minimal parking. We did a phone order for the Saigon special (variety of meat) and a lemongrass chicken. It was about $11.50 for each sandwich. They make it fresh when ordered. The bread was toasted and was crispy. The meat and vegetables had a balance amount portion. The sandwich was delicious!
google avatar

Teresa C.

Yelp
I say this without exaggerating. Hands down the best banh mi I've ever had. We had the original and the roasted pork and both were amazing. The bread is perfectly chewy and flaky without ripping the roof of your mouth open. All the flavors and proportions worked perfectly together. The pate they use is definitely made in house. I wanted to go back again during our day stay in Waikiki, but sadly didn't have time. I'll be back one day! Until then, I'll be dreaming about this sandwich.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
They are located in the 808 building on the 3rd floor. Parking is a headache. I phone ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches and one with no cilantro. When I got there the guy at the register who also was answering the phone and was running all over the place to the back and to the front. And when he handed the bag to me of course there was cilantro in both... only reason why I give it 4 stars. The sandwich was good and the bread wasn't too crispy. It was soft but crispy at the same time.
google avatar

Rose H.

Yelp
I saw the reviews and had to try. It's very difficult to find a good banh mi in Hawaii but this was pretty damn delicious and tasted just like in Vietnam. The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We came about 130p and they had already sold out of the lemongrass chicken. We chose to eat in and it took about 10 minutes but was worth the wait. About 5 minutes later I heard they ran out of coffee. Better to come early before they sell out of what you want. $11.50 a sandwich so not cheap but the pork was juicy and the pickled veggies were super fresh. Will definitely be back to try the lemongrass chicken and the Saigon special.
google avatar

Lorie G.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by my daughter's nail tech saying it is the most authentic bahn mi places on the island that she's eaten at since moving from Vietnam. Parking is valet - 1st hour free if dining at the restaurants there (just need to tip the attendant). Restaurant is on the 3rd floor (same building as Margaritaville). Our party of 4 went and I had the $16 combo - Roasted pork sandwich with Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The bread is made in-house - nice and crispy on the outside & light and soft on the inside. The pickled veggies had a little kick to them since there was jalepeno, but not to the point where I couldn't eat it. Meat was tender with pieces of crunchy skin. I only ate half of my sandwich since it was so filling - wrapped the other half for another meal ;)
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
This is by far the best Bánh Mì we've ever had! I'm from the Bay Area, California--where great food and amazing restaurants are everywhere--but this place is on a whole different level. We absolutely love the special sandwich #1, and the tofu mushroom was just delicious. The bread is perfectly fresh and crunchy, and the fillings are flavorful and fresh every time. We loved it so much that we came back multiple times and even brought our parents--they approved and agreed these sandwiches are unbeatable! And if you really want to take it up a notch, pair your sandwich with the Vietnamese coffee. You're welcome!

Yelp
Lets just get this out if the way, should be a 6 star cause that bread is in its own category. Located on a third floor plot this modest shop is slinging some heat w their banh mi sandwiches. Simple setup w a few tables inside and more located outside on the walkway to enjoy what is a very underserved sandwich market in honolulu. Fresh bread that has a perfect crusty texture but dont be fooled cause that bite is a perfect crunch to pull ratio. Soft and chewy inside to nestle in one of 3 sandwich options. Pair w a Vietnamese coffee and you got the perfect meal to carry you through the rest of the day. On this stop I had the roast pork. Perfect crunchy skin thrown in like a shake of bacon bits, and crunchy veg inside w some a good heat kick. Though just visiting, im already plotting a way to maybe hit this again before leaving the island in a few days.

Yelp
The BEST place for banh mi! I come here about once a month with different groups of people for lunch. Everyone I've brought here also agrees this is one of the best banh mis they've had on the island. The bread here is so fresh and light which is the main difference compared to other restaurants where I'm usually breaking my jaw chewing on hard bread. I've tried the roast pork, lemongrass chicken and lemongrass tofu with mushroom (you can request combination of both). My favorite is the roast pork - the crispy pork skin with the sweet glaze along with the pickled daikon goes so well together. You can also make it a a combo with a Vietnamese iced coffee or tea for about $17. The restaurant is quite small with only 3 tables inside but there's a few additional tables along the side of the railing. A lot of times it looks packed but people tend to eat quick and seats open up by the time your food is ready. I would suggest calling in your order if you decide to come late afternoon. Sometimes they completely run out of bread before they close at 4pm which is understandable because they're so dang good!

Yelp
Best banh mi I've had on island: perfect bread-to-filling ratio, freshly made baguette with a thin, crisp crust and housemade roast pork - complete with skin bits! The sauce was so well-balanced, the perfect blend of sweet and tangy without overpowering the crunchy veggies. Looking forward to trying the others on the menu.

Yelp
Drove about 13 mins away from our hotel for these delicious Banh Mi Sandwiches- totally worth it! The Saigon Special is the original taste I love! The bread was fresh and had a nice light crunch. I also got the pork which was juicy and had a sweet flavor. I prefer the Saigon Special over the pork but overall this place definitely did not miss. Quick ordering process and short waiting period! If I didn't live in Ca, Le's Banh Mi would be the regular spot!

Yelp
Food- the banh mi's are so goooood. I've tried the Saigon special, the roasted pork, and chicken. All were good, but imo the chicken is the best. Banh mis are made with French bread, which cut up all your gums, but these are worth it lol. Everything is so fresh and tasty! The only reason I needed to take away a star was because for the past couple of times I've gone it was like a couple of hours before closing 1-2pm (they close at 4pm) and they were completely sold out of everything. Like good for them, but also why and how do you not make enough product until closing?! I understand if it was like a completely new business and you don't want to buy too much just in case but they've been established for a bit and they're busyyy. So I don't understand how you don't make enough or have enough until at least closer to closing. I'm coming from Hawaii Kai so it's not like a short drive there either. It's been disappointing.

Yelp
Hubby and I came here to grab some coffee before heading out for the day. We wanted to get some Vietnamese coffee and see how it would taste here vs back home. I looked around and was able to find Le's Banh Mi. As we were walking up the stairs where Le's Banh Mi was located at, Hubby was telling me how it reminds him of Vietnam. The atmosphere and the location with the slight humidity reminded him of Vietnam. It's a nice cozy little spot. Once we arrived we looked at the menu real quickly and went with the Vietnamese Ice Coffee. We didn't have to wait too long to get our drink. Staff was friendly and kind. They didn't rush us as we were looking at the menu. Drink came out fast and delicious! Will be coming back here when we are back in Hawaii for more coffee and maybe a Banh Mi next time!

Yelp
Really loved their lemongrass chicken banh mi since they give a big portion of chicken and their bread isn't so hard that it breaks the roof of your mouth. The price isn't too bad and they have lots of outdoor seating. I also got their strawberry iced tea which had chunks of strawberries inside.

Yelp
Mmmm, looking for a really good Vietnamese sandwich? Your search is over :) It's the bread! Super fresh with a hint of sweet crunch. Soft in the middle and big enough to hold their generous portion of filling. It's the flavor! Lemongrass chicken was so delicious and the lemongrass tofu was equally tasty. The Saigon Special was full of flavorful ingredients. Their iced Vietnamese coffee was smooth and strong. Really hit the spot. Also, it was super helpful that each paper bag is conveniently labeled with the type of sandwich. Thank you, we shall return to try other menu items.

Yelp
Banh mis and coffee, what else do you need? Le's Banh Mi is my favorite type of spot- they have their speciality with a few different variations but that's it! No Cheesecake Factory sized menu here. This is a fast casual spot on the 3rd floor and has a few tables inside and outside on the patio area. I brought my dog with me and we enjoyed our banh mi and coffee outside. Service was great, we ordered at the counter and then when our sandwich was ready- they found us outside! I would suggest NOT eating their banh mi in your car. A true sign of a crusty baguette.... it is very flakey and crumbs will get everywhere. I got the Sai Gon Special combo that also comes with a vietnamese iced coffee. Name a better duo- I'll wait!!
