Les Bartavelles

A dining experience far beyond my expectations! My wife and I recently dined at Les Bartavelles to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Everything, from the warm welcome and personal attention given by front of house hostess Veronique, to the clean and elegant yet modest dining room, to the well presented and creative menu, to the selection of delightful accompanying wines, to the food itself, was absolutely exquisite! When we initially made our reservation we thought it would be a one time thing to treat ourselves. However, I think it’s safe to say we’ll definitely be making a return visit! Thank you for giving us such a memorable experience we’ll never forget!

I will out 10/5 if I can. After 3 years in France I will say this is the best restaurant I have ever been ( including one star michelin restaurants). Will be there next time I go to Tours, it worths every euro!

Food and service to match the best restaurants in Paris. We had a long stay in Tours and walked by this small restaurant with a beautiful interior several times. We always saw the same lady with a big smile, serving tables and speaking with customers. We tried to get in twice, but the restaurant was always full. We needed to reserve and we did. We had a wonderful lunch and later, a tremendous dinner. The food and service matches the best restaurants in Paris with 10 times the care and love. The cuisine is modern and creative. The spices are subtle, no heavy creams, not too much butter and accompanied by a small, but varied list of wines by the bottle or the glass from the local regions, as well as some Burgundies and Bordeaux. Next time we will reserve before arriving in Tours.

Wow, what a treat. Four of us participated in their opening day quite by accident and it a very fortuitous accident. We sampled and shared the 3 plate dinner choices and the food was wonderful - a combination of variety of flavors, contrasts and textures in every combination. Fish fowl and fur, interesting/uncommon veggies and fruits, lots of imagination - a great experience. We all left full, very pleased, and wishing we lived closer or could be here more often. And - the service was impeccable from greeting to goodbye.
