Les Closeaux - Restaurant

Cute farm settings near a real forest. Family run service, professional and warm. Incredible quality/price ratio. The seating space outdoors is quite calm and soothing.

Michelin quality food at unbelievably reasonable prices! Enjoyed an exquisite four course meal with wine pairings on the patio. Veal was perfectly done and it was the best bearnaise I have ever tasted. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the wines and food. Recommend dining when they open for dinner at 7:00 pm as they get busy.

We had a lovely dinner sat out on the terrace. We had the menu du jour (€39-49 depending on menu) with wine pairing (€13) - the wine pairing in particular was excellent. The food was good with all local and seasonal produce. The setting was beautiful and tranquil with a nice ambience. Most staff spoke limited English but were able to accommodate us knowing minimal French, which we were grateful for. We chatted with the owner who was very friendly. There is plenty of parking on site.

This review for the restaraunt only. The experience we had was very different from the other reviews. We were served the dry baguette. This was unexpected for the French restaraunt. The chef compliment - was very unattractive at the very least. Wine selection was another dissapointment. The main course we ordered beef and cod - were just ok. Fantastic location in the French countryside. The food presented with style the taste matched it 100% full of flavour and left me wanting to have tried more off the menu. Service was both attentive but yet not over imposing and always at the table. Left feeling content and like I had not just had some lunch but a bit of an experience as well

A very cool experience — This restaurant feels like a casual but elegant farmhouse dinner party, and the food is as delicious as it is creatively presented. We appreciated the wine pairings and the pacing.

We had dinner. It's fine dining, and a very pleasant experience. A starter and a main was 29 Euros. The food was very attractively presented. Having two courses I had enough to eat because I took the bread roll that was offered with each course. On the downside, we had to ask four times for a jug of tap water. It arrived just as we were finishing our main course.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Les Closeaux, but the main dishes and service left a bit to be desired. We sat outside on the patio and did the 32 Euro menu, which included an appetizer, main dish, four cheeses, and a dessert. They also brought out several amuse-bouches, including a cherry tomato with a caramelized sauce, a cucumber mixture, a melon purée, and a tasty white cheese. The meal was paced over 2.5 hours. The fish and foie gras appetizers were tasty, as were the generous spread of cheeses and the chocolate dessert. We tried two main meals - the duck and veal. Neither contained particularly good pieces of meat or sophisticated sauces. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the atmosphere, but would probably try another restaurant in Amboise before going back a second time.

A bit like a French agriturismo, this is a farmhouse with an outstanding kitchen. Truly fantastic food and very good value at 31 euros for 6 courses including home made foie gras. Highly recommended.
