"The only thing that outshines Les Cocottes’ brilliant use of glass jars and Staub cast-iron cocottes is the menu itself. Chef Christian Constant has developed a robust offering of salads (a nontraditional Caesar salad), soups (pumpkin, seafood bisque), and mains (ratatouille, langoustine ravioli) that satisfy without breaking the bank. And then, of course, there’s Constant’s famous chocolate tart. Those who fly by the seat of their pants will appreciate the no-reservations policy, even though there’s almost always a wait—which isn't bad, as it’s conveniently located near the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Eiffel Tower."

This was our first meal after arriving, and it couldn’t have been better. We had the squid ink risotto and the white fish dish — both were absolutely delicious, but the fish was especially outstanding. It was perfect! Moreover, all the staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, which made our lunch even more enjoyable. A special thank you to Jonathan, our server 😊 he was so sweet, kind, friendly and very handsome too! Thank you for your amazing service, Jonathan. You truly made our first meal in France a memorable one😉🥰 Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting!!

Google
A nice restaurant near the Eiffel Tower serving hearty French food. We had a Cesar salad, squid ink pasta risotto, and beef chuck stew, all very good. Squid ink pasta risotto with tender pieces of squid on top was particularly memorable. Service was friendly.

Google
Hearty and delicious food that warms your heart all cooked and served in a cocottes. Love the squid ink risotto and creme brulee. A must order when you visit. The beef chunks are super tender and the sauce is perfect with the bread. Staff speaks good English and are eager explain the menu to you. A busy and casual restaurant and all seats are high chair. If you are not comfortable sitting on high chair it won’t be suitable for you. Good to give it a try if you are visiting Eiffel Tower.

To die for. Service was amazing, very attentive and kind waiter and waitress. Beautiful interior that creates a lovely ambiance. I ordered what the other reviews suggested starting with the lobster bisque and ending with the squid ink risotto-the best risotto i’ve ever had in my life-making a meal I won’t forget.

Been to the restaurant on multiple occasions and was pleasantly impressed every time. The food is good and my personal favourites being the lobster bisque, squid ink pasta risotto and brioche french toast. On top of that, the service is excellent. Damien it’s always friendly and professional, provides great service and never fails to crack a joke. The location of the restaurant is also just a stones throw away from the Eiffel Tower, perfect for a walk after a god meal. :)

Google
This place is EXCEPTIONAL! Everything is served in the famous french cast iron pots of STAUB. The food was very tasty - especially the starter “Jambon Arrossegarai” which is only served in this restaurant in Paris! The “daube de boeuf” was sooo soft and aromatic. The beef was melting in our mouths! 😍❤️ The Creme brûlée and taste chocolate are crazy! The best food we had here in Paris. The serive was so kind too, especially Alice was so friendly☺️ we highly recommend Les Cocottes

Google
Banos provided fabulous service with an incredible smile! The food here is stellar! We ordered the beef chuck and the supreme chicken which seemed to be a favorite since we had a great view of the kitchen and it was ordered a lot! Absolutely fantastic food and service! We can’t wait to return.

Google
This is my must-visit restaurant every time I come to Paris. The food is absolutely delicious and you really can’t go wrong with any dish on the menu. The service is always wonderful. Every time I dine here, Damien takes care of my table and he is truly amazing, incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely funny. He makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable and memorable

Yelp
This is must stop. We put ourselves in our server's hands and had an incredible meal. My escargot was hands down the best I've ever eaten. My wife had the 3 course prix fixe. The starter was a "salad " of celery root noodles with a citrus dressing and poached egg. Wow! This is primarily a local bistro. Go. Keep an open mind. Enjoy.

Yelp
The food is quite good, even if the scallops were horribly overpriced for the tiny portion and the steak was similarly tiny. The spinach salad was literally spinach and dressing but it was so tasty that I wasn't even offended! The bread was *delicious*. The service is brisk and attentive. The restaurant is oddly long and decor is somewhat sterile, but it works! We liked it. The location was convenient for us, and the street it's on made for a charming walk after dinner.

Yelp
our server was great but this place was filled with Americans and the food was like eating at a chain in the US I had langoustine ravioli my husband had a terrine then he had poulet vollaile I can't even remember my meal but that's it Nothing was memorable food was truly like a Sad chain with Cisco food a very sad example of a French restaurant with a Michelin chefs name on it

Yelp
A reservation is a must here ... very popular. We were greeted nicely and were seated at the entrance. The menu is small but the choices are perfect. We started we razor clams in a tomato sauce that was delicious ... we then ordered black squid, a chicken and potato plate, baked salmon and a risotto ... and wow, wow ... everything was excellent. The service was friendly and everyone spoke great English and a menu in English was also provided. The wine list is small but packs a punch ... dinner for 4 with wine, 4 mains and 2 desserts was 225 Euros ... well worth it ...

Yelp
Came to dinner here at 8PM on a Monday night while traveling in Paris. We didn't have a reservation but got seated outside at a high top table right away once we arrived even though the place was very busy. Super cute bistro on a quiet street near the Eiffel Tower with a very nice/relaxed ambiance. Our waiter was really friendly and gave us very useful information about the daily specials. He was very patient with our broken French and even taught us a few words. For drinks, we got a small pitcher of white wine that was around 2 glasses per person that we split between two. The wine was good quality, smooth, and refreshing. For food we ordered: Appetizer of the day: the daily special happened to be a delicious roasted eggplant with some tomato, pesto, and burrata. The eggplant was roasted perfectly, had really tender flesh and a very crispy skin. The cool, creamy burrata on top was perfect and balanced the dish well. Cod fillet in bouillabaisse sauce: this dish was very good! Came in a hot casserole (hence why this place is called "Cocotte" as mostly all dishes come in these stone bowls), and had flaky and tender cod with vegetables (peppers, peas, potatoes) in a tomato/paprika/fish sauce. Entree of the day: on Mondays they have a special veal stew (Axoa de veau) which my boyfriend ordered and really enjoyed. It had a tomato sauce that was very flavorful and some potatoes that also came in a hot casserole. The veal was cut in small tender pieces that were lean. The portion size was very nice. Super warm, comforting special and on Mondays it is only 20 euro! Chocolate mousse: please order this, you will not regret it. The mousse was smooth, creamy, and light. It was topped with this homemade granola topping and some chocolate crumbles. Very nice flavor, not too sweet. One of the best mousses I have had. Highly highly recommend this place! It was a wonderful culinary start to our stay in Paris. They had many options for main dishes and the space was really nice. Service was also super friendly and pleasant. Look forward to coming back again in another occasion to try more of their delicious dishes.

Yelp
All I gotta say is I loved my pigeon platter . It was cooked medium rare and it came out delicious. Tender and reminded me of a cross between beef and chicken . The fluid saucey sauce that it came with was balanced very well and it was not salty one bit. The accompanying veggies dressed it up well. The foie gras is duck and it's in pate form . For me personally I'm not a big fan of the pate form but I did find the beauty in this form. It reminded me of melted butter if you do it right. The scallops was minimal but def packed a punch. The scallops here was fresh and prepared fine dining. Shout out to the Chefs I'm glad I took a dive into this place because the food was good The reviews from prior threw me off. Yes I agree the host can do better with the seating arrangements but heck I came here for the food Service was good and punctual. Refilled water and brought out the bread. Waiter also gave some recommendations and explained their chef dinner specials Overall food was good as they have two managements working. One in the front and one in the kitchen making sure everything comes out as it should. Thank you for dinner

Yelp
One of our best meals in Paris! Wonderful, welcoming staff with excellent service. You can tell they really pride themselves on their quality of food and service, which makes all the difference. We stopped in for a lunch and ordered the half caesar salad and sea scallops with spinach to share. Both were fantastic and so incredibly fresh. The Caesar had perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs and thinly sliced chicken in it with nice, small, flavorful croutons. The dressing was perfect and you can tell it was homemade. I love that they weren't skimpy with the dressing. Sometimes restaurants only give you a little but this salad was dressed to perfection. Really enjoyed the small, close-nit ambiance. They offer bar seating and also high top table seating. Wish I could pack this restaurant with me because I would definitely be a regular!

Yelp
The restaurant is pretty close to the Eiffel Tower, about a 5 minute walk. It is a small narrow restaurant that is minimalist and modern. Half of the restaurant is bar seating and the rest looked like high tables. The food- the best thing here is the beef stew. It has some potatoes, carrots, onions and mushrooms. Some of the smallest brown mushrooms I have ever seen. I would have ordered two of these and skipped the rest of the food I ordered ( steak frites (tough and bland), lobster bisque (just ok and kind of fishy), Cesar salad(boring)). The meal will come with a cold baguette. If it was warm, it would have elevated the meal. The service was very good. I had a youngish gentleman that was very helpful and pleasant. It also looked like he spoke many languages as I saw him interacting with customers. Be warned that each person at the table needs to order a main dish or two appetizers. Also, no kids menu, so if you have a picky eater they will probably be eating fries and some free bread.

Jan Danielle V.

Yelp
My family and I have been traveling Europe and it's our first night in Paris. The service and food and good, everything tasted great! Unfortunately, when I went to eat my mushrooms, I found a piece of coiled metal from a sponge. It was just the single piece found, however, I have worked in food service and dining before, that metal is from a coiled metal cleaning tool. I got the attention of the host and he immediately took it and went to tell the kitchen. Nothing was done after, no sorry or anything. I understand that it is busy, but something like this should not be accepted or expected from a restaurant of quality.

Jay T.

Yelp
One of the worst french restaurants. Everything is pre-cooked. Full of Asian tourists. Totally a joke
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic French cuisine, this is the place. Known for the best Caesar salad in the area. Everything we had was delicious.

Yelp
Reservations were made in advance per the suggestion of a friend but it appeared that walk-ins were welcomed. Escargot, squid ink pasta, chicken, & pigeon were ordered; all were very delicious and fresh! The restaurant provides complimentary bread but no butter or dipping sauce so it was a bit dry. Prices were reasonable and service was great. Restrooms on site, credit cards accepted, overall vibe was casual.

Yelp
reasonably priced great food. staff is friendly and english language friendly. the space is charming and generally suited for smaller parties.

Yelp
This place so cute and service was excellent! Also gave the best recommendation on what to order. The food we ordered was superb! Would definitely come back if we are back in Paris!

Yelp
yoooooooooo this restaurant is AMAZING. This the first trip to Paris my husband and i have taken. I have to say that of all the palaces that we patronized during our 5 day trip, THIS was the best restaurant we dined in! Located just a couple of blocks from the Eiffel Tower, barely a 10min walk, we saw a packed restaurant with an intrepid menu. Even though we had no reservation we were seated immediately at the bar and received the most excellent service and a thorough explanation of the menu. I ordered chicken and mac, and i know this sounds childish and simple but this was an extrodinary elevated culinary masterpiece! I have never had more delicious chicken or mac n cheese in my life! the sauce that was served with my chicken caused a brief out of body experience . The mac and cheese was phenomenal as well. Absolutely the most memorable and delicious dining experience we have had in Paris

Yelp
Food was AWSOME!! Loved everything about this place will definitely come back again! I highly recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
Cute little bistro a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. While we did not have a reservation, we were able to be seated right away which was nice. Everyone that came after us seemed to have reservations so I think we got the only walk in table available for two. We shared the Caesar salad and jambon to start. Huge portions for starters, we couldn't even finish them. Very delicious flavors though. Think the salad had a bit too much dressing for my liking. Then we each got the steak frites cooked medium. It was extremely tough and hard to cut. Also huge portion, I regret not sharing. The fries were my favorite fries I've ever eaten, would come back just for those. Everything else was okay, didn't blow me away.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We were in area to see Eiffel at night and decided to try this spot. We made reservations. Everything was delicious. Squid ink risotto, steak, and potatoes stuffed with pig feet. All amazing. The apps we shared were the razor clams and the escargot both delicious. Desserts the crème brûlée and chocolate pie were both also yummy. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Price for three with no alcohol but sparkling and coffee was about $170. Very reasonable for dinner.

Yelp
Unique flavors and great service. Our server was so patient with helping us to figure out our order. We got a number of items and all were delicious. The "Foie gras de confit" is really great and 'home made'.
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
We enjoyed the steak frites and duck confit here. We were seated at the window by the front of the restaurant. It made for great people watching while enjoying the natural light. Service is very efficient and professional. I know this establishment serves the tourist segment but we did enjoy the restaurant. There were a steady stream of tourists coming for dinner so it seems to be a well known and recommended place. We thought it was a very bistro near the Eiffel Tower to recharge and enjoy some great French food in Paris.
google avatar

Kers Y.

Yelp
We came here without a reservation and they seated us immediately. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. Food was delicious! Very small place with plenty of hooks to hang your bags and jacket. We sat close to the kitchen so we were able to see everything, which we loved.
google avatar

Doris U.

Yelp
A lovely place with great food. This Resturant sits within an alley close to the effile tower.
google avatar

Jacob H.

Yelp
We ate here last night and we're pleasantly surprised for a random stop. The food was fantastic from the beginning to end! All flavors were incredibly on point and the wine paired perfectly with our meals. Definitely coming back here, make sure you look at the tip before going. A full entree per person is expected.

Liam C.

Yelp
Yes yes yes. Great brasserie near the Eiffel Tower. Inside the decor is very charming but not too much room. Foie gras was the best I've ever had in my life. Consumed with plenty of bread. This is a MUST GET! Escargot and steak frites were good, although I've had better. The steak was a bit chewy in all honesty. However service was good and very friendly and welcoming.
google avatar

Helen G.

Yelp
Very good food and wine. Tiny place kind of tucked away but overall very good! Rice pudding is a must try! Escargot was also amazing. It was crowded so definitely recommend a reservation.

Yelp
The host (Damien) on Sunday evening, 11th of September 2022, was an arrogant racist. My wife asked if we can get a table without any reservation. He said he'd check. There were another two who came after us without a reservation. He told us there weren't a table for us and he sat the other group. We asked why they got a table before us and he told us, he had a choice on who to sit and who not to sit. We've been coming to Les Cocottes for a long time and it is unfortunate how the quality of customer service has gone down since Christian Constant left.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Tried the fixed menu for a late lunch. It comes with parsnip soup with almonds and chorizo, chicken with fries, a sliver of goat cheese from the basque region, and a cream cheesecake tart with passion fruit. All for €38. Not bad for Paris. Will certainly return to this place. Service at the counter was great. Will need reservations if 3 or more people.
google avatar

Alma T.

Yelp
One of the best seafood restaurant I've been into in Paris- nice ambience, really delicious seafoods, good local Parisian Ale and they took us in without a reservation. We will be back here for sure again!
google avatar

Yelp
The most rude staff we've encountered in our week in Paris. Be aware they will make you feel less than human. Dirt. They continued to me berate me for asking a simple question. For Lunch: We sat down hungry, ordered drinks and a starter, intending to order main courses after. They told me it was not allowed: starters, only mains. I was confused as I saw others in the restaurant eating the starters listed on the menu. The gentleman came back and I asked to clarify and he states "we are not a wine bar, you can't order starters!" Hmm ok then why do I see others eating? He said oh you can order starters and main but not just starters. I felt I was being scolded and judged by my appearance which was in casual Lululemon outfit. He saw my face getting red and upset but continued to double down and be rude. We decided not to stay. We had dinner reservations for the evening and so glad we didn't come all the way to be treated like that. I'm glad we didn't spend $100+ for pigeon and unkindness. It was also cold and sterile inside, not a fun ambiance. My advice: Walk down the street and have a better experience!
google avatar

Elaine H.

Yelp
Friendly, clean, and wonderful service. We ordered the prepared menu of the day and it was very good! Compared with the US, also reasonably priced for quality of food. We left fully satisfied and ready to walk through more rain :)

Martin V.

Yelp
A gem close to the Eiffel Tower. The food is quality, fresh and very well prepared. I had the squid ink risotto with sautéed calamari and chorizo. My wife had the beef stew with veggies. Both delicious. The lobster bisque was tasty but watery and there was no signs of lobster. The service was excellent. The waiters are all very friendly and attentive. The place is small with bar height tables and stools at the bar. We arrived with no reservations at 6:46 and It was packed by the time we left around 8 pm. If you get a chance to go eat there we highly recommend it.
google avatar

Araceli L.

Yelp
Horrible service and food sucks. I was starving and didn't even eat my plate. Avoid at all cost
google avatar

Cate B.

Yelp
Wonderful food for lunch. Must try the delicious chocolate mousse, served wya unique flair.

Michele K.

Yelp
Every time I visit Paris this is the place to eat. Excellent food with great staff and service.
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
This place has pretty good French food and it's a nice modern restaurant to visit if you have a reservation. We got the 3 course meal which was recommended by fellow Yelpers. We got the california avocado appetizer, duck, and a puff pastry dessert. The duck with the grilled apricot was the highlight of the meal. The dessert and the appetizer was pretty mediocre so I give this place a 3.5 but I'll round up for the clean and modern ambiance.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
The food is very good! Definitely recommend the squid ink risotto!!! Service was also great, from the moment we stepped in for a table to leaving we definitely felt like we were valued!

Yelp
Sister restaurant to Cafe Constant, though slightly more upscale. Like other reviewers, amazing food and amazing service experienced here. The beef cheeks is a must order. Rich, deep and flavorful broth. The beef checks fork tender and falls apart easily. The carrots sweet. The mushrooms meaty. All of it together ... PERFECTION the ravioli's is light with 3 delicate raviolis in a light, lemony cream and foam sauce. unfortunately I can't recall the name of the dish I ordered but came in a red pepper cream sauce/soup, poached egg, lardon and rocket (arugula). It's complex, rich and then addicting as each bite had a different taste on the tongue. the service was nice and friendly. the setting simple and cute. Was definitely glad to visit
google avatar

Darryl R.

Yelp
Wasn't sure that we would be seated as it was Saturday night & we didn't have a reservation but we were seated immediately & the food was spectacular.
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
One of our Paris staples. Most recent visit, we got a caesar salad and white bean soup to start, followed by the pigeon cocotte and beef cheek stew, and then the chocolate tart for dessert. The soup was good and the caesar was great, but the mains are really what we'll remember -- both were absolutely outstanding, among our favorite dishes from this trip. I can't remember getting pigeon anywhere before, and it surprised me how similar it was to duck (more so than chicken). And the beef cheek stew is essentially a beef bourguignon, as it's cooked in red wine with carrots. I'd have trouble not getting both again next time if they're still on the menu. Overall, just really excellent food. We've come here on every visit to Paris and have no plans to stop.
google avatar

Andrea Q.

Yelp
It was a lovely surprise to stop at this place and get the best food in the area. We started with their appetizer specials, and it was the best "Devil eggs" we had tried. In addition, we ordered Tuna steak, the best dish on the menu. This is a must try! and Steak - everything was fabulous. Service: the service was excellent! They also had a wonderful list of wines and desserts.
google avatar

Steph L.

Yelp
The first visit was a 3 star because the very tall waiter wearing black did not inform us of a $3 fee for water (it a tall thin bottle) for a total of $6. The service was also awful aka nonexistent. However, our second visit to the restaurant we had a different waiter (slightly balding) and the water (served in a smaller container) was free. The service was excellent. He refilled our water and our bread without us asking. We ordered 3 pigeons and it was fall off the bone delicious. Definitely a must try dish if you come here. The steak was not good and I would not recommend. The beef cheek stew was also super tender but a bit too salty.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, excellent service, pleasant staff and affordable prices. The ambiance was very nice

Yelp
stumbled into les cocottes this evening with no reservation and although it looked very packed - they were able to seat us right away at the counter. everything from service to food was phenomenal! we tried the daily special (pumpkin soup for starter, veal stew(?), goat cheese and tiramisu) and escargot, beef chuck stew and crème brûlée for dessert. it was not only our first meal in paris but also my birthday meal and it truly blew us away! our waiters were so helpful and attentive and kind. we were nervous since we are not French speakers but they immediately put us at ease!
google avatar

Jennie K.

Yelp
Second meal of the trip and it was delicious. I've been to Paris before and there are restaurants that are subpar and prey on the ignorance of tourists. Luckily, Les Cocottes is not one of those. Reservations are easy to make and online. You don't need to talk to anyone in broken French and no credit card was required to make the reservation. Please note that everyone in the table must order something. My mother-in-law wasn't very hungry and just wanted an appetizer. However, the server said the restaurant requires everyone to order a plate or two appetizers. She opted for two appetizers and they were both delicious. My husband ordered the steak and it was delicious. He likes his meat medium rare and this was actually the first time it was cooked properly. The steak was delicious and the potatoes that came with it were perfectly seasoned with crisp outer edges. I ordered the lamb with beans. It was good but quite heavy. What was interesting is that all the dishware was from Staub. Great restaurant to eat at if you are going to see the Eiffel Tower.

Habiy W.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! A bit pricey but it's near the Eiffel Tower. Reservations recommended. I got there around 3ish - no problems. As I was leaving around 6ish it started filling up and they were turning people away w/o reservations. Nice ambience - quiet , hip. Good for dates, friends. I wouldn't recommend taking young kids. t though they are welcome.

Yelp
Best place to eat in Paris, handsdown. It's a MUST. Service is great, very clean, and just great vibes all around. And the food was phenomenal! Only con, is that it's slightly pricey, but it is definitely worth it! I had a group of 6 people, and they accommodated to us, adjusted the tables and chairs, and seated us right away. We were lucky enough to come at a good time, right before rush hours (as we were leaving, there was a line of people waiting), which was about 8pm on a Sunday. I definitely recommend getting the "le menu des cocottes" -- basically a special of the day meal (which includes the appetizer, entree, cheese, and dessert) all for 37 euros! The specials they had on the day we went were: lobster ravioli: it was cooked to perfection! the lobster did not have a harsh seafood/salty taste. the lobster taste was still there and had a very pure and "clean" taste. the broth for the lobster ravioli was very refreshing as well and was a great choice for the appetizer. veal stuffed with ham and cheese over risotto: the veal was very tender and the ham and cheese complimented nicely! the risotto with the veal juice was one of the best risottos we've ever had. it was cooked to perfection, not too soft or too hard. i guarantee that even if you are iffy about eating risotto or that you're not a huge fan of it, this would change you're mind. basque country cheese: it was good! the jam on the side gave a great taste to the cheese, but nothing stood out too much about this dish to me, unless you're a huge fan of cheese, you'll really appreciate it. almond cream cake: surprisingly one of my favorite parts of the meal. the cake was so soft and it just overall was amazing. I could've finished it in 10 seconds if I really wanted to. a nice way to end the meal without being too heavy on the stomach. we also got two more dishes since i was sharing with my boyfriend and we figured we should probably get some more appetizer and entree which were: lobster bisque: amazing! again, it wasn't too heavy compared to usual lobster bisque which was cooked perfect as an appetizer. there were so many pictures on yelp of this so i had to try and it was worth it! pigeon: by far my FAVORITE pick of all the choices. it was extremely tender, tasteful, and something i've never had before. i would definitely come back here just to eat this again. and the portion is big enough to fill you up if eaten alone. beef stew: super soft and tasty as well! didn't stand out to me as much compared to the rest of the food, but it was good!

Eduardo B.

Yelp
Very good ambiance and friendly service. The food was tasty and with varied options. We shared some dishes and were recommended a good wine at a reasonable price. Good option in the area.

Rebecka R.

Yelp
Staff was ok (luke warm) to me, but extremely rude to my guests which included a VIP with a traveling celebrity. Made a reservation here based on a locals recommendation and founding chef reputation. Food was not up to expectation and atmosphere was uncomfortable. Overcooked steak and sweltering dining room.

Yelp
A place I would return, specifically for its squid risotto. Reserve when you can, the place can get crowded. We got eggplant caviar, beef cheek stew, potato stuffed pig trotter, squid risotto, and the rice pudding. We both loved the beef cheek and pork trotter, but the squid risotto was out of this world. The squid was first stir-fried and then serviced with the risotto that was very well flavored. You can smell the squid all the way from the kitchen. We would simply come back again for the squid risotto. The beef cheek was stewed very well, it was not stiff at all, good with rice or bread. The pig trotter was well seasoned and panfried with potato, and the vege creates a good balance. for the dish overall. The eggplant caviar and rice pudding were the two we felt mediocre, probably because the mains are so good? The price is appropriate and I believe the service was above par.
