The Best Fried Chicken in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"With the exception of sides of fries and some pickled daikon, every single menu item at this Korean restaurant from Jisoon Park and Hanhak Kim has fried chicken in it, from ‘salads’ made with tenders and saucy 27-piece platters, to sandwiches using either toasted brioche or bao buns." - JP Karwacki

I’ve ordered from Les Crazy Chickens a few times, and the food has always arrived exactly as described—perfect in both taste and temperature. My favorite item is the chicken bao bun sandwich, but unfortunately, it comes with dark meat, which I can’t eat. When I visited the restaurant, I explained this and asked if they could customize it. They accepted my request graciously. As always, the food was fresh, flavorful, and served at the perfect temperature. Thank you for the great experience!

We took the boneless combo with the honey soya Bao and it was delicious. The batter was thin and crispy. We ordered two sauces (garlic spicy and creamy onion) which added flavoured to the dish. A little disappointed by the creamy onion sauce which was more watery than creamy but the taste was good. The aesthetic of the place was cozy and cute. I highly recommend this place if you want crispy and flavourful fried chicken!

Some very solid and tasty Korean fried chicken. Restaurant is a bit small and there is usually only one person working there but service is quick enough and friendly, with the chicken being fried fresh to order. The Montreal combo has some drums, wings, tenders, and fries, with sauce on the side. The chicken is hot, juicy, tender, and crispy, but without the excessively greasy flavor/aroma that you get at other fried chicken places. Obviously fried chicken isn't the healthiest thing on the planet, but I feel slightly less guilty after eating it here. Nice selection of sauces too and fries are satisfactory. I will say that prices are on the high side ($60 for the contents of the photo) but you get what you pay for. I'd definitely go back again.

An incredibly awesome Korean restaurant on Notre Dame street that sells the best fried chicken ❤️❤️ We walked in and ordered a salad, ugly nuggets, and chicken combo with fries and it was super fresh and beyond delicious ❤️❤️ Cannot wait to go back and try more items on the menu 😇😇

For such a tiny restaurant, this place is packed with fun decor, great food, and many great options to choose from. I would recommend checking this place out. The staff were also kind, quick, and friendly, which is always a plus!

A little place in the heart of Saint-Henry. It's my second time here and the Spicy fried chicken is simply delishh!!! They even have Portuguese beer, Super Bock and Quinas which are really good.

Haven't actually visited the place itself but definetly planning to!! I had their chicken at the pocha festival and the flavors are amazing!! Even tho the chicken was slightly overcooked, the spicy garlic was so delicious even if it was burnt to a crisp it would taste good😩😩

I thoroughly enjoyed both the ambience and the food! Ambience: a nice 2D style paint and decor environment, with touches of healthy green plants scattered about makes this a really fun place to take pictures and chill. The food: Wow! The chicken was soft, moist, and crunchy at the same Time! They have a diverse selection of sauces to choose from, and I highly recommend an order of Ugly Croquettes (nuggets). I’m a fiend when it comes to Korean Fried Chicken Sandwiches and this is going down in the memory books as a place I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to!

Yelp
Petit spot sympa pour du poulet frit Coréen et des bao. Ils offres plusieurs petits a côté.

Yelp
We had to wait til 5pm on a Monday for the establishment to actually open. They were out of bao buns which was disappointing. Altogether we ordered 3 different chicken sandwiches (gave us stomach cramps later on though it tasted good at the time), fried shrimp (skinny and bland) drumsticks w/ wings and fries and one piece of the honey cookie (took one bite. It tasted like it was cooked in dirty oil) .

Yelp
Amazing fried chicken. Juicy, crispy and super fresh. I just wish some sides were included with the "family style" plates. Overall it's just a tad overpriced. The service was good, you order and pay at the counter. I love the 2D style decor.

Yelp
Cute cafe with super tasty fried chicken sandwiches. They didn't have Baos when we walked in on a Sunday at 12pm, which was slightly disappointing. However, we got the spicy fried chicken sandwich on a brioche bun and it definitely did not disappoint! It was a perfect fry and just the right amount of sweet, spicy sauce. The sandwich also came along with fries which were good too. A great place for a quick snack/meal!

Yelp
Overall good Korean chicken but the service was horrible. The cashier didn't provide any utensils or napkins, we were a party of 5 with the family combo worth over 60. Have fun finger licking'

Yelp
We got the combo with drums/wings with half spicy garlic sauce and fries as well as the ugly nuggets. They were all pretty good and flavorful. The side with no sauce didn't have much flavor so it's definitely better to get them coated with sauce. The inside's decoration is very interesting. The staff was nice.

Yelp
Yummy Korean fried chicken! Et les frites! Good old fashioned deep coloured fries. Pas de bao disponible aujourd'hui. Cute decor. Try it!

Yelp
Passed by at Les Crazy Chickens for a snack and a picture of their interior... and the restaurant is very cute. The concept of the restaurant is all in 2D drawing which is pretty cool and Instagram worthy. As for the chicken, I ordered the Spicy Bao. The buns were very fluffy like a pillow soft bread. The fried chicken pieces were very big! It was tender and juicy! However the level of spice was wayyyyyy to high for my liking. I usually can take the heat but this was just a little too much. The sandwich is a great snack for 2 or good meal for 1! Overall, I really enjoyed the bao, next time I will be trying the mayo version instead!

Yelp
I ordered the "Ugly Nuggets" and the Bao sandwich. SOO GOOD The Nuggets were hot and perfectly seasoned, as well as the Bao sandwich, which came two per order. The chicken was juicy, and sweet and savory. No notes. I'm glad my friend said this was THE spot! Definitely coming back here this summer. Also, the price was reasonable with tip unlike other spots

Yelp
Best chicken in Saint-Henri, watch out competitors this be the big boy in town. Grabbed a bunch of chicken tendies, wings and drumsticks and hot damn this was totally worth the stop. Every single pieces had the trifecta of perfect Korean Fried Chicken; it was moist, well seasoned and crispy. The spicy mayonnaise sauce was for once spicy. Ain't none of that sweet spicy mayo weak sauce you usually get in other restaurants. This be the real deal and I'd totally get a bucket of that. Definitely coming back to this place for more chicken deliciousness.

Yelp
Amazing selection of fried chicken, either pieces or sandwiches. Service very friendly, fun vibe! Went for lunch and enjoyed it a lot!

Yelp
Came back and got a Korean Chicken Sandwich on a bun (not a bao this time...though I was tempted to bao again.) Slaw on the side, and with a spicy mayo on the side. Pretty good! Nice bun, good slaw and chicken, all goes well together, but the mayo...not quite for me. Not bad taste wise, and I wouldn't say it's too spicy (less spicy than the previous bao sauce for sure, and doesn't have the tingly quality that that sauce had.) Just not for me. Pretty much as soon as I tasted it I said, "That's going to make me sick later." And I was right. But that's just me, and it's not a bad sauce as far as flavors go. It tasted familiar, I'm sure I've before but I couldn't place where. Regardless, sauce on the side is 100% the move for sauces, less sticky and less mess. The chicken maybe fits on the bread bun in a way that is a little less unwieldy than on the bao, for me at least. Though their bao is great. Next time I think I would get a bao with no sauce on it, and I'd be curious to try their honey onion mayo.

Yelp
Bao buns were very tasty and huge. Spicy mayo was slightly better than the regular bao, IMO. Would definitely return!

Yelp
Very good korean fried chicken! The batter is really crunchy. I took the ugly nuggets which was $10 and I was full after that even though it seemed small in the container! Charming 2D decoration!
