"The third generation of the Ibarboure family quietly presides over the fate of this lovely family property and grounds. The sons, chef Xabi and Patrice, Best Pastry Maker of France 2019, who honed his talents in establishments from Paris to New York, rule over the kitchen. Fine Basque produce is showcased in seasonal menus: Adour salmon, Kintoa black pig, red fruit from Mendionde, gingerbread from Ainhoa, Espelette pepper, Pyrenean lamb, Ossau-Iraty cheese. They delve freely into the estate’s vegetable garden, concocting dishes such as courgette flowers stuffed with langoustine or vegetables on a bed of herbs with an emulsion of rocket leaves and tomato water, that are emblematic of their flair for adding a creative spin to family favourites." - Michelin Inspector

My review applies for the restaurant. Wonderful experience, everything was perfect. There is a huge amount of work made with their local products which makes flavours unique and very interesting from the starter to the dessert. Having two great chefs cooking together really makes a difference!

Fabulous stay in this beautiful tranquil haven. Loved the whole calm and relaxed set up and the cute spa area. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Tasting menu and all wines were exceptional and perfectly paired with each dish. Highly recommended.

I only wish we stayed longer. The dinner was fantastic, with excellent selection of wine and each item of the tasting menu creating flavor memories. The setting is somewhat reminiscent of Costa Rican forest, minus the loud animals. Must visit!

We had the pleasure of experiencing the full six-course menu, which offered a well-balanced array of vegetable, meat, and fish dishes. They were flexible in adapting and changing out certain dishes based on our preferences. Some memorable highlights included the corn bread with piment d’Espelette, the ris de veau, and the pigeonneau. The raspberry dessert served as an excellent palate cleanser, and the fluffy madeleines, fresh from the oven, were a delightful end to the meal. There were a couple of minor issues during our visit. There were some mosquitoes earlier in the evening. The wine selection discussion with the sommelier felt somewhat awkward, and the service became a bit lax towards the end, with our glasses not being refilled. Despite these small blips, the atmosphere was lovely in the alfresco seating, even as a storm was brewing. I’d recommend this restaurant if you’re seeking an experience with traditional flavors and a focus on local produce.

Some Michelin star places are very snobby and cold but the staff made this such a wonderful experience. Calm, comfortable and a great place to escape to. The staff in the hotel were so lovely and their friendliness was infectious. The food….well….wonderful. This stay was a treat to ourselves and boy, it delivered. The restaurant staff also were wonderfully welcoming and the chefs taking time to serve some dishes was just the icing on a gorgeously delicious meal. And the gâteau basque for afternoon tea………..❤️

The hotel is not far from the coast ( 2 km) on a big property full of trees, flowers, palms,,, Inviting building is encircled ba maniqured garden and there is also the outdoor pool and a sauna cottage. The interior is attractive, with rustical and modern decor. The same goes for the rooms and the breakfast restaurant. My room was spaciopus, with a balkony looking to the garden, bed was super comfortable and location is quiet - birds singing wakes you up....The bathroom amenities are quality natural products - you might wish to buy some as they are for sale. As well as chocolate pralinees- made by awearded hotel chef. The breakfast is buffet style , served in an airy and lightfull restaurant with a big panoramic window and views of the garden.Food is delicious - home made marmalade, bread, sweets, yogurt, local ham, cheese,...There is a big selections of tea and even a detox healthy juice. The personnel was very attentive, helpfull and polite, speaking good English. Parking space is just a few steps away from the hotel entrance.

I only went here for a wine tasting and then dinner (did not use the hotel). The Sommelier was very knowledgeable and patient with our 20-people group! We had the tasting menu with wine. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. At the end of the meal the first brother Ibarbour came to great us and ensure the experience was good. Then the second brother came in the middle of the dessert portion to do the same. This place is worthy of every good critic and star it earned! The attention to detail and personalized service made everyone comfortable and satisfied. You must go eat there!
