"Chef Guillaume Besson has no equal when it comes to juggling dishes! This minimalist and contemporary space is the setting for a delightful dining experience with its white walls decorated with paintings and photos, its parquet flooring and wooden pieces. The set menu dubbed "sur le fil", made with impeccably cooked ingredients, is a masterclass in clear and simple presentation. Modern, clear and precise, occasionally bold, the dishes are always balanced, which is hardly surprising given the name (a funambule is a tight-rope walker!)." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best meals my partner and I have ever had. Each course was a delight and the service was so kind. I will be thinking about this food for months to come and want to come visit Strasbourg again, for many reasons, but specifically to eat here again. Absolutely recommend the 30 € wine pairing. Very well done. Great value

A beautiful experience. The staff explained every dish without any problems and in English, which is amazing for a French establishment. The way the chefs play with your taste buds is exceptional; all the dishes were surprising in their own way and incredibly tasty. The cheese platter was another highlight—out of this world and a must-try if you visit Les Funambules. The only thing I would suggest improving is the wine selection for the wine pairing. While the wines were tasty and complemented the food, I expected better choices.

The food was really good and the service was top notch in my opinion. No English menu but the menu are not complex/complicated. Prices was very reasonable for a 1 star restaurant. Will definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting Strasbourg. I am a mid size Asian and had the 4 course dinner, the portion fits right. Booking was easy. Please remember to book ahead.

We have visited Strasbourg annually for the past few years and always make a lunch reservation here. Les Funambules is actually one of the reasons we return to this city. We have never been disappointed. Rather we’ve always been delighted. Quiet, comfortable, welcoming, creative…perfect.

Great place to enjoy a well done savory gastronomical meal. The 3 set menu is a real delight done to the perfection. I had one of the best meals of my life in this tiny restaurant. The ambiance is great but reservation is a must. A little bit pricy due to the amazing ingredients they serve and their skilled staff. One negative thing that I should mention is the different smells that dominates the place, it's a little bit annoying at first but you get used to it after a while.

Yelp
It is my first Michelin star restaurant experience, so I have not much experience to compare. However, I have heard a lot of friends telling me that Michelin star French restaurants usually cost an arm and a leg and they are often overrated... well this one would be the exception! I found this restaurant on French websites that gave stellar reviews. Price for dinner is extremely reasonable for a French restaurant. I reserved a table via email and their confirmation was prompt. They also asked for details of food preference and allergies, which is very atypical but well appreciated from a French restaurant. They do not tell you the menu in advance, but rather leave the decision to the check to surprise you. The food courses literally meet the name of the restaurant - it brings you excitement and keeps your tastebuds on tippy toes. The flow of the dinner was very well orchestrated, and there were much more food than I expected. There is a good blend of soups, seafood, meat and dessert. For a French dinner, please expect this dinner will take about 4 hours to take place. If you are ever in France and would like to try a Michelin star French restaurant- this place will definitely impress you. Please give it a try!

Yelp
Great experience (we had the lunch 4 dish menu) and particularly appreciated the veggie and coffee pairings that the chef included in two of his dishes (the zucchini mousse starter as well as in the veal dish where it was incorporated in the sabayon). The 'lièvre à la royale' (or royal hare) which is a traditional dish of theirs was delicious and we also really enjoyed the wine pairings. A pleasant experience all in all, thus we definitely recommend (it is a Michelin star restaurant after all )
