The staff were so unprofessional, it was completely unacceptable for a five star hotel. We were given misleading information about prices and asked to pay our bill twice. We were also asked for a €800 deposit after we had already paid for the room too, which was not mentioned previously.
It was my birthday, which I informed the hotel of prior to our arrival and my mother had emailed with notice asking if it would be possible to arrange a flower delivery to the hotel. Her email remains unanswered and the hotel did not arrange anything for the special occasion, which in my opinion does not align with a five star service.
When checking in, Antoine the staff member on reception told us breakfast was included in the price. When we double checked, we were told this was not the case. Was this going to be an issue when we would be asked to pay the bill upon checking out? Read other reviews and make your mind up. During checkout the same staff member who checked us in, forgot we had already paid, even though he took the payment and deposit and the receipt was in front of him. How is this acceptable for a five star hotel?
The room was nice, however the carpets were stained and there was dust in places.
I am beyond disappointed and I feel like I have looked forward to this trip for a while and the service is seriously appalling considering the price and star rating
