"Outdoors, diners are sheltered from the bustling Rue de la Régence by wooden decking, while indoors, a luxurious brasserie décor provides the perfect foil to a lineup of Gallic classics and stellar Mediterranean fare. The extensive menu offers dishes that star time-honoured family favourites like calf’s brains in a zesty lemon sauce, tagliata of beef, veal kidneys in mustard and desserts such as French toast. Les Petits Oignons delivers spot-on cooking every time as it bends over backwards to pamper and spoil its regular customers and passers-by in the Sablon district." - Michelin Inspector

I understand why they were Michelin Star worthy. Exceptional service, starting with their butter and rolls. Never had such good butter in my life. Had their risotto, beef tartare, steak. Risotto and tartar was my favorite. Exquisite taste and aroma and flavors. Also, biggest takeaway was that it is highly affordable for a Michelin star restaurant.

Warm atmosphere! Service is very pleased and attentive. Good view on the terrace! We ordered beef tar tar and cod fish and it was a perfect food journey! Portions were big for the reasonable price!

Brussels has no shortage of restaurants, but if you’re looking to skip the tourist traps, Les Petites Oignons is where you want to be! This Michelin-starred gem serves up an authentic slice of the city with its outstanding service, super-friendly staff, and, of course, truly exceptional food that leaves a lasting impression. The bustling French Bistro style, warm and inviting atmosphere just adds to the charm. A word to the wise—make a reservation or come with a bit of patience, as this spot is a favorite with the locals!”

Are you looking for a classy dinner at a Michlen restaurant in Brussels ? You are in the right place! I was amazed of food, service and atmosphere 5/5 🌟 I ordered the Michlen menue and was fantastic in one word. Will definitely try it again!

The food had a lot of variation in terms of quality. I visited with my family, and we ordered appetisers: the perfect egg and the carpaccio. The carpaccio was underwhelming, but the perfect egg was delicious: probably the most memorable dish from our visit. For the main courses we ordered the kidneys, sea bass on potatoes, the vegetable risotto, and the Caesar salad. My dish, the sea bass, was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it all, but my family had a different experience. The kidneys were overcooked, and although their flavor was nice, it rendered some of them inedible. The Caesar salad's chicken was also overcooked, leaving it dry and unimpressive. The risotto was decent, but lacked flavor (for my liking at least). The deserts were really good. My lower review of the service is due to two factors. The first of which is the lengthy amount of time it took to receive both our food and drinks. The second factor is that when we tried paying for our food the card was "rejected" three times, but the payments went through each time. On the fourth attempt everything went through, but he had to come back once we realised we had just spent €800 on our dinner. Now typically this would not be the fault of the restaurant, but when we requested a refund of the three failed payments the staff were helpful but very condescending. Summary: The food is good if you know what to order, and besides the issues with payment the restaurant was an overall pleasurable experience.

Came here for lunch during our brief stay in the city. Reservation is recommended. We really enjoyed the mussels and fries, even after eating it almost everyday since we arrived 😂 We were also impressed with the goat cheese salad! The generous portion of goat cheese was something you don’t see often in the United States! The only thing that we were a bit disappointed was the fact that the restaurant was under renovation so a portion of the dinner area was closed off and our table was facing right at the workers painting the wall 😂 not the most appetizing view. C’est la vie 🤷

Wonderful restaurant it was our second time to eat here. We went for our wedding anniversary and the staff were impeccable. The food was amazing great atmosphere and will definitely be back again

Google
Overall an underwhelming experience. We did the 4 course Regence menu. The foie gras with the chocolate sauce was creative. The bread was so dry, practically not edible. The main chicken dish was a generous portion but slightly dry, too and the pasta was slightly undercooked and all lumped together. Service was just about okay. The pauses between dishes were way too long.

Yelp
We had seen Les Petits Oignons referred to in the Michelin guide and the menu looked interesting, so made a reservation for a Sunday lunch. We were seated right away and brought menus and the recommendations. The restaurant was busy with locals. We were spoken to (of course) in French and while I muddled through, they were kind enough to speak English with us. My guy ordered a glass of white Burgundy and I ordered a Kir cassis for aperitifs. The Kir cassis was way too warm, but the Burgundy was delicious. We both ordered the set menu of appetizer/main/dessert. I especially liked my sea bream (see picture) and we both enjoyed our cream of asparagus soup. I would order off the main menu next time as I saw some good looking meals being served around us, notably some dishes with in-season white asparagus. Service was leisurely paced but not overly slow. The atmosphere was charming--a local brasserie buzzing with people enjoying a leisurely Sunday lunch. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Yelp
2022 09 12. M0.

Yelp
I ordered the three course meal. The chickpea soup was average, nothing spectacular. The shrimp risotto was very fresh and earthly. The chocolate dessert was my favorite of the three dishes. I believe the dessert was a chocolate mousse, which is typically very light. However, this mousse was heavy and flavorful. I was unexpectedly surprised. The staff was friendly, but I felt rushed to finish eating and to leave as quickly as possible.

Yelp
3 stars for food. This is one of the recommended restaurants in all guides, we didn't knew that just found out afterwords. I ordered a buttery cod and I wasn't crazy about it but I liked it, the fish was a bit softy. My bf had veal liver and was very very good. Regarding the service - our waiter was extremely unpleasant and I felt treated with lots of despise which you don't want to happen while your paying almost 30 eur one course. The other waiters seemed a bit more human, is this "french attitude" wtf. The restaurant is very cool located and has a very distinguished atmosphere but if you care about the service take note from the first instant about how they treat you.

Yelp
Les Petits Oignons was recommended to us by our hotel because they are in the Michelin Guide and our concierge said they were "a cut above" other places for the price. I think it depends on what you order. The lamb shank is everything he promised succulent, tender, and bursting with delicious flavour. The cod however, as beautifully presented as it was, was just drowning in butter and absolutely no other flavour. I found it very tasteless and had to force myself to finish it. We also ordered the mussels to share as an appetiser and those were pleasantly buttery and quite nice, although I am no expert and have not had mussels too many times. The restaurant itself was quite cute from the inside although the outside is easy to ignore and walk by. Location-wise, it is quite close to the Sablon, which is very convenient. We didn't have any problems with the service and we were happy with the price considering how amazing the lamb was.

Yelp
Went here with one of my good friends on a whim I had the red bean soup which was amazing and I will probably go back today to have it again. My friend had the shrimp croquettes which was also delicious. I also had a glass of wine not sure how to grade that it definitely was not bad. The service was good and the setting of the restaurant is cool and vibrant, the chef was also walking around since it was lunch and that was kind of cool to me. The price was good, but I also just came from Paris where expensive is their middle name so the price didn't bother me at all because the soup was really good, I try and think about the quality of the dish and if I was satisfied and I definitely was satisfied. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because I haven't tried anything else on the menu but I would give this place a chance and this is coming from someone that never does yelp reviews I just saw people going crazy so I thought I would help them out since the service and food was good.

Yelp
Nope on the service, and meh on the food. For some inexplicable reason, the waiters (we had 3 service the table??!) could not give a descriptive of the variety of oysters that were offered, of which there were only 2. They both were described as 'tasting like oysters'. Wow, just wow. I love oysters and eat them regularly. Usually an origin is enough, but they couldn't provide that info either. My friend ordered the risotto. The flavor was good, but texturally undercooked and missing the starched creaminess of a nice risotto. Two more did the lamb meatballs with linguini. The meatballs were great in flavor and texture, but the water was undersalted for the pasta, mushy on the edge and slightly watery. Not too crowded but the tables are on top of each other. We were constantly either bumping or being bumped by the party behind us. Also, the waiters had hung another couples coats up behind us, so we ALL had to get up from our meals so the waiter could retrieve them. This, coupled with the general reaching and passing of food and drinks by the staff made this feel more like a family diner than what I think is intended. Overall, certainly not worth checking out, Michelin or not.

Yelp
Well, what a fun meal. My Burratini with fresh grilled vegetables was a delicious lead in to a delightful order of crispy sweetbreads. My partner definitely did not want s taste which was fine because I did not want to share. He enjoyed his vol au vent - which tasted wonderful and had a light flaky crust. Yes, while not sharing my entree I was not bashful about sampling his! A nice relaxing evening with good people watching and a friendly, helpful Maitre d'. Simply put: you should go.

Yelp
Excellent grilled salmon with mashed potatoes, crispy veggies and a safran sauce. To finish, moelleux au chocolat with vanilla ice cream, always a winner. The prices are what you can expect from a more classy and elegant place like this. Would recommend for a special occasion or a fancy night out. A bit quiet so not the place where you take a bunch of loud friends.

Yelp
Very good food, starters and main. But ruined by an extremely slow service and inatentive waiters. 2h15mns for 3 courses meal...

Yelp
Food was pretty salty and we found some buckshot in the hare. I get the sense we ordered the wrong thing by going with the seasonal menu and that there were better options.
