Les Pins de Cesar (Saint-Jouin-Bruneval, Normandy) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For overseas visitors the south of France gets the lion’s share of attention, but the north has charms of its own. And it doesn’t get much more classic Normandy than this — five minutes from the white chalk cliffs of Étretat, France’s answer to Dover, set in a nature preserve full of Austrian black pines, is Les Pins de César, a family estate converted into a stylish and luxurious boutique hotel and spa." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is beautifully located in the heart of nature, surrounded by lush, well-maintained gardens. We stayed in one of the “nature rooms”—a bungalow designed to immerse you in a peaceful, natural environment. The concept is unique and truly tranquil. Note that there’s no Wi-Fi, the shower is located outside the bungalow (though the toilet is inside). Note that the fan provided wasn’t sufficient during warmer summer nights, this room is not recommended on hot days . Breakfast was lovely, with fresh and tasty options. Overall, a special experience—though we’re unsure if the price fully reflects the value.

Absolutely loved our stay here. It was a very serene, peaceful setting located on a beautiful property. We especially loved the dinner service we opted in for each night of our stay-the menu featured a roast duck with sweet potato that we greatly enjoyed and can’t seem to replicate at home! The service, staff, and amenities were excellent, Les Pins is definitely worth a visit.

Had a wonderful stay at Les Pins. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the location is outstanding. Loved the peace and quiet surrounding the place. Breakfast is great (do try the homemade hazelnut spread!); dinner is fine but nothing special.

amazing place to leave all the stress and life hustle behind and have a few days of cleaning mind. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi is amazing. it is great that there are not many people. most of the time we were alone in the pool or jacuzzi. We haven't tried massage but I bet that is good too. Rooms are very nicely decorated. It is great for couples. There is a big bathtub in the middle of the room. Only thing is the first room had a weird smell. we switched to another room later on. I believe it smells some kind of a pet pee. I felt it so much on the bed and pillows. the second room was great, the room smell was so nice. Food is very poor, especially dinner. I think this is a bit of western Europe thing, the cuisine is not that delicious. I would recommend having dinner somewhere else. Breakfast was missing scrambled eggs. there were not much variety of food. just boiled eggs, some cheese and ham. I had my own breakfast the 2nd day. Also, all the food content in the breakfast was labelled in French. I could not understand what is what. I am avoiding bacon since I am a muslim. it was a bit challenging. Staff is super kind and helpful. there is a very nice trust relation between the stuff and the visitors. You write down what you consumed at the dinner so they charge you according to your statement. it was a nice touch. It is very close to Étretat and Le Havre, both are like 20 mins away. there is nothing to do in Le Havre but Etretat is nice to visit. the whole complex is hidden in the middle of the forest, that gives an amazing privacy and comfort. it was super peaceful. Parking was free. I definitely recommend this place.

Lovely small hotel, with its small buildings spread across a beautiful landscaped property. This is the perfect place if you want to be surrounded by nature and to relax. The room was great, with a comfortable bed and a nice tub. Same for the breakfast. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi and the heated pool. Étretat is less than 20m away (by car), so the location couldn’t be any better. The staff was very welcoming, professional while relax. Only negative side, and the reason for not giving 5 stars, are the check-in and check-out times. I still remember when the standard was 12:00 for check-out and 14:00 for check-in; regardless of the reasons behind it and ways to mitigate its impact on guests (you can use the spa and explore the property), a check-out at 11:00 and check-in at 17:00, when you pay more than EUR 400 a night, is difficult to understand. Other than that, amazing place. Recommended!

A lovely weekend getaway retreat from busy Paris. About a 2 hour drive from Paris to Etretat, you're wisked away to this charming countryside retreat! A perfect way to add some calm to your French vacation.

Lovely, lovely place. Staff is excellent, we truly enjoyed the surroundings, the spa, massages, and just overall this small hotel with a feel of a BnB. The bed and bedding is excellent, and the rooms are so quiet - you can get the best sleep and still be under 20 min away from Etretat! Highly recommend!

The hotel has beautiful grounds, but it seriously lacks in safety and customer service. During our stay, we faced a distressing incident that made me feel completely helpless. My 67-year-old mother slipped and fell by the pool because there was no anti-slip coating. There were no staff or cameras or any survellance near the pool. There was no one else in the pool, no staff to assure the security, no surveillance, no other visitors. The door to the pool was shut. When I tried to help her get up she lost consciousness. She was in my hands and I didn’t know what to do. I shouted for help for about 10-15 minutes, no one heard anything. I was crying and didn’t know what to do. Luckily she got her consciousness back. I was able to bring her chair and accompany to the hotel room. When we asked the hotel staff for assistance, they were dismissive and did not provide transportation to the hospital to check if my mum had brain concussion or hematomas. They also claimed that the hotel had no insurance for such incidents. The person responsible for the spa area said: “it was her fault that she fell down, we have nothing to do with it”. The manager was not there for two days and did not address our concerns when contacted. This lack of care and response from the hotel was shocking. This experience shows that the hotel has major issues with safety and customer service. Future guests should be aware of these problems before deciding to stay here. The problem we faced could happen to anyone.
