Grand Hotel du Lac Vevey (Vevey, Canton of Vaud) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you look at the Grand Hôtel du Lac and see a spectacularly well-preserved 1868-vintage example of the classic Swiss lakeside grand hotel, well, you’re mostly right. As a matter of fact, longtime patrons of this Vevey favorite will recognize that it’s in what might be the best shape of its life — which is high praise for Pierre-Yves Rochon, the Parisian designer who presided over its extensive renovation. Today it’s a classic luxury hotel with just enough contemporary visual interest to still feel fresh — and of course the timeless views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps beyond its southern shores are nothing short of awe-inspiring." - Tablet Hotels

A very beautiful hotel with elegant decor, and our room was just as lovely. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely attentive and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The spa is small but charming, and although I know a jacuzzi is not possible due to the space, it would have been a great addition. Breakfast service was a little slow, but not enough to affect the overall experience. Overall, a lovely stay in a refined and welcoming setting.

Lovely stay, spoilt by a unhelpful receptionist. We stayed for 4 nights in 2 rooms, junior suite and a twin room for our teenagers. Overall we had a lovely stay, rooms cosy, clean, well serviced by housekeeping and well appointed. Lovely breakfast with excellent service from all the staff at breakfast. Unfortunately our departure left a sour taste. On our last day when requesting a late checkout the senior female receptionist was quite curt in telling us the best she could offer was 1pm. So we checked out at 12.30 and went out for a few hours, having left our luggage at the hotel. On our return to collect our luggage and use the bathrooms before our departure, I asked the same receptionist if there was a quiet space we could use to pray before leaving for the airport, she quickly without any hesitation said all the rooms were occupied, the meeting rooms were full, the ballroom etc all occupied. It is off season and the hotel seemed very quiet to me. In all our years of travelling we have asked for space for prayer in many hotels, museums, restaurants, airports, train stations etc, and never been dismissed in such a manner. The other young man in reception was helpful throughout our stay. It's funny how a small action can taint the memory of a otherwise excellent stay.

100% a 5 ++++ Star experience!!!! From booking with Yullia to departure the service we received was top notch. Not only is the hotel absolutely beautiful but the quality of service was outstanding. Location is wonderful, just a short walk to restaurants and Old Town. Our room had a patio overlooking the lake and back courtyard which made our trip feel extra special. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH about the breakfast!!! We have never had a better and more beautiful selection. The fruit was amazing and the pasties / bread are unequaled. The breakfast staff was so kind and caring. This hotel holds itself to the highest standard and it shows. I can't imagine a more wonderful hotel with a more amazing staff. We loved Vevey but really we just can't wait to return to stay at Grand Hotel du Lac!

This is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a junior suite with balcony for our 42nd wedding anniversary. The room, the hotel, Julian and Yulia at reception, everything was perfection.. We arrived early in the morning after our flight and they graciously stowed our bags so that we could go explore until the room was ready. Dont hesitate to book this hotel. It is gorgeous, an histore building from 1874, charming, elegant, impeccable, very clean with warm reception. It was a lovely start to our anniversary trip. I can't say enough good things about it. Everything was 5 star

Spent 4 days in Switzerland with Grand Hotel du Lac as our base. I can highly recommend the hotel, service, food, staff - friendliness, helpfulness & attentiveness. We were with a group and no ask was ever a problem. The what’s app hotel chat extremely helpful and the team organised the loveliest of taxi drivers to look after our pursuit transfers. A huge thank you for making our stay so memorable. And to close we dined at the Veranda restaurant on Wednesday night. The food was sublime - so many options I would have to loved to try, I may very well have to come back.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel du Lac in Vevey! The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy and welcoming, and the rooms are very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing visit. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast – absolutely amazing, with so many delicious options and great quality. It was the perfect way to start the day while enjoying the beautiful setting. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and we have to give a special mention to Julian and Patrick, who went out of their way to make sure I felt taken care of. Their friendliness and attention to detail really stood out. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and we will happily return. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Vevey!

We were pleasantly surprised by our weekend at the Grand Hotel. Although we are familiar with Vevey and some of its hotels, this was our first time staying at this property—and it exceeded our expectations. We booked a Deluxe Room with a lake view, which was absolutely lovely. The room featured a huge, comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom that appeared recently renovated with all the modern amenities, and two balconies (each with a table and chairs) overlooking the stunning lake. The views were simply incredible. At night, the room was exceptionally quiet, and the windows were truly noise-proof, ensuring a restful sleep. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but we chose to enjoy it both mornings on the beautiful terrace. The buffet offered everything one could wish for, all beautifully presented. The staff truly exemplify the best of Swiss hospitality. We also had lunch on the terrace and were very impressed by every dish—classic favorites, but executed to perfection. The hotel’s garden is beautiful, and during our summer stay, the pool was never crowded. There were always comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas available, and access to the lake was just a two-minute walk away. We will certainly be returning!
