This was my second stay at the paradise that Les Suites undoubtedly is. It was reassuring to see many of the original staff from my visit three years previously. The team at Les Suites are essentially the icing on a very fine cake. They are genuinely happy, helpful and do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible. From the housekeeping to pool staff, reception to restaurant, they're all delightful. ||The breakfast is one of the delights of the day, Al fresco with ocean view, and a fine selection. We ate at Avista Mediterranean twice, and the Rose Garden once, and hugely enjoyed. You can walk from Les Suites into Cliff Bay, internally, which I found out this time. ||If you hire a car, there's ample free, secure parking, and often a space right out front. This really is a place that once you've found it, you will undoubtedly count down the days until you return!

We stayed at three hotels during our trip to Madeira and Les Suites at Cliff Bay was the most luxurious. If you can afford to stay here, you probably should. Photos do not do it justice. The suite was spectacular, rivaling the hotel rooms in Asia. Spacious, modern, clean, comfortable, and oceanfront. What stood out to me was how quiet the property is. After a day of hiking, I would go down to the pier and swim in the sea, lay out on the pool deck and then sit on the balcony and stare at the sea for hours, uninterrupted.||We arrived 90 minutes early and our room was not ready, so we were given drink vouchers for beer or wine and offered the opportunity to relax on the pool deck until checkin. The pool deck is stunning. I wish they would heat the jacuzzi beyond lukewarm, but we enjoyed the pool and had a large soaking tub in the room. ||Unfortunately, the Avista restaurant was closed due to a recent fire, so we did not fully experience the property. Our dinner reservations were cancelled, and while they did place us on the waitlist for Gallo D'Oro, we did not get called. They did provide two alternate dining experiences, but the Mediterranian option was on the pool deck of The Cliff Bay which was chaotic, so we didn't try it. We had breakfast at The Cliff Bay one morning which was average and very busy. After that, we opted for room service which was very good.||Pro tip- there are no pool towels in the room, at any of the pools at The Cliff Bay or on the swimming pier. After taking the two different elevators and walking down several levels to the swimming pier without encountering any towels, we were told that we would either have to go back to Le Suites for towels, or go up to the spa in The Cliff Bay (cannot be accomplished from any room at Le Suites without three elevator rides). ||Every member of the staff that we encountered was pleasant and unintrusive. ||Overall, the magnificent room that you get at Les Suites is a good value regardless of which resort amenities are available at your time of travel.

My second time to this Cliff Bay spa hotel and first time to Les Suites with husband. in general the service from airport pick up to departure was top notch. There was nothing that was too much (even when I came pouty at my room and Rosana at he front desk, agreed to change it straight away!). |Other little touches like I asked for a larger mug for my home bought coffee dripper and it was bought to the breakfast table every morning. Fresh flowers, cut fruit and bubbles on arrival. Everyone knew us by second day and we felt like we were VIPs. There had been a fire that meant Vista Asia and Mediterranean were closed but we were offered a magical evening by the seafront with an extraordinary menu, music and sommelier who made our night. |Les Suites had the added benefit of a dedicated reception, infinity pool, jacuzzi , outside bar and breakfast at Vista restaurant (if available - due to fire we were offered complimentary in room or any of the other breakfast services), as well as the facilities in the main hotel.|The spa treatments were decadent and unrushed BUT BOOK EARLY!!!|We are seasoned traveller and very particular and wanted for nothing. We had considered the much acclaimed Reids Hotel but from our visit for dinner and the difference in service, we agreed we made the right choice and it would not be our last visit to Cliff bay. Reids maybe dining off its previous reputation whereas the Cliff seems to respond to the importance of the building their reputation in the present. Well done to all - see you all soon

Les Suites at Cliff Bay provided an exemplary experience during our stay. The staff was welcoming and professional with a thoughtfulness in anticipating guests needs and addressing any unforeseen issues with care and urgency. Unfortunately, a fire occurred at one of the on-site restaurants during our stay causing notable damage. Management was exceptional in their response to the incident, rightfully placing the safety of their team members and guests as a top priority, while ensuring effective communication and accommodations for impacted team members and guests. ||Our room was beautiful, clean, quiet, relaxing, and provided an outstanding view of the sea (and the fireworks in the harbor). Every staff member we encountered was warm and professional. We will definitely return!

Easy check in. Beautiful duplex suite with gorgeous views directly over the sea. Loved the elevator in the room! Pool water was warm and delightful to swim in.||Restaurant food was delicious and views from terrace and Avista windows are stunning. Breakfast exceptional and staff all seemed genuinely friendly.||Special mention to 'Marlene' I think she was called, at breakfast. l'd employ her in a heartbeat. So professional, friendly and efficient. This is a hotel where you instantly unwind. The most relaxing holiday we have and we have a lot! Can't wait to return to this very special hotel.

Have just returned from another stay at the beautiful Les suites. We normally book a duplex suite but decided to try a one level suite this visit (no 52) and really glad we did as you get a much larger balcony which we enjoyed sitting on and admiring the view .|The suite as always was spotless. Breakfast is always our favourite and everyone is so welcoming and attentive . |If you’re thinking of booking just do it you will not regret it !|Already counting down to our visit in October for our wedding anniversary!|Thankyou to everyone 💕

Went for 5 days which included 3 meals at Avista, it was so good we paid for the 4th night. Excellent hotel, wonderful service, great views. So good we are planning to return next year - a first for us. We stayed in a garden room suite, excellent. You can use the facilities at the Cliff Bay hotel, or just use the facilities at Les Suites, which are only available for those staying at Les Suites.

We had a wonderful stay here from 1st to 7th June. We were blown away by how great this resort is. The team that work at Les Suites can’t help you enough. Check on was smooth and very professional with a welcome drink. We were shown our room and everything in it, including a lift in our duplex! The pictures show what our room was like. It was very clean, plenty of towels and soft drinks in the minibar were all included. There are two shower rooms and two balconies. The amenities were brilliant, a stunning breakfast with plenty of choice and a menu to choose from. Hand made coffees, pressed juices, water and even sparkling wine. Plenty of seating. Les Suites guests have breakfast at Avista included, guests at Cliff Bay can pay a fee to eat breakfast at Avista, and also offers walk ins but breakfast was always quiet and calm. The pool area is superb, the infinity pool and sun loungers are only accessible by Les Suites guests. Plenty of sun loungers and a nice jacuzzi. There’s a well equipped gym and Pilates room too. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. You can get access to all the Cliff Bay Hotel amenities too including the Lido, pools and loungers. An excellent stay. Thank you!

Yelp
The Avista restaurant is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous view. The seating is very comfortable, the drinks are good, the food is great. The shrimp and beef tartare starters are must-gets and the veal in beurre blanc was incredible. The rice that I got as a side was plain rice however it was the most flavorful plain rice I've ever had a restaurant. This would be a 5 star review had it not been for the terrible service. A member our party has a nut allergy and alerted our waiter to it and he kept asking her if it was just an intolerance or an allergy to which she kept replying that it was an allergy. He'd make a face and then take 5 minutes to write it in his notes. He barely checked on us throughout the night and proceeded to give us dirty looks when HE tripped near our table and almost spilled something on us. When we were ordering food (with the intention of taking some home so we could try more) he kept insisting it would be too much food for us and made us feel bad about ordering so much. I would have loved everything about this restaurant if it weren't for that waiter.

Yelp
A stunning hideaway! Gorgeous views and delicious food. Great experience guaranteed:) The first floor has fish, steak, pastas, all you could ever dream of, combined with the view it really might feel like a dream! The second floor is sushi only and is only open on weekends- chef's choice in sushi assortment but everything we got we loved so trust the chef! Either way, a reservation is pretty necessary so be sure to make that with them or the concierge at your hotel. Be sure to get a glass of Madeira wine with your Tiramisu! Also if you get cold, they have heaters and blankets for you :) Thank you to Leonardo and João for taking the best care of us!!!

Yelp
You will feel like you are in Positano or Torrey Pines, but better because this jewel box of a location remains relatively undiscovered by the masses. Yet every luxury demanded by even the most discerning international traveler is exceeded. Wow. Wow. And wow. Sit in the terrace for the view, then order a 5 star meal at Avista. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
It's a nice property but the service from the administration is ridiculously poor. The snobbery, unfriendliness, and bad management are nowhere approaching professional. Perhaps they didn't like us. We were repeatedly approached to ask if we were staying there and treated like were were trespassers. We were staying for over a week. Very odd. After a full week at the hotel and constant poor service and just weird interactions bordering on offensive, we asked for a late check out and were immediately told no. I mean, immediately. Like she was taking pleasure in it. Like we were begging from her. Normally a top quality hotel will at least pretend to check to see if anyone else is taking the room. Perhaps charge us more money? Whatever. We were given a hard no. Yes, soooo sorry we spent thousands of dollars at your hotel and asked for an extra hour. My bad. I recommend stopping by for tea, if you want to see the property. Reid's is nicer. Then again, there are a whole lot of nicer places on the island that don't require you to receive service from the hotel people, bordering on abusive rudeness, certainly when it comes to the hotel staff (the service at the restaurant is good, meaning pretty standard). I do notice that most of these Yelp reviews are for the restaurant, not the hotel. Tripadvisor might be different. If you want a superior experience, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Cliff Bay is a five-star, European spa of great style and refinement. Staff, food, facilities and service are top notch. Plan on dressing for dinner. I highly recommend the resort to American travelers seeking a high-end spa experience; Cliff Bay is a well-kept secret of German, French and UK guests. Dining, swimming in the sea, wine by the pool, spa treatments and working with reception on excursions around the island (whale watching, hiking and more) are all fabulous. My recommendations: join the Prestige club online first. Choose a premium package room with daily breakfast, and a water view. Book hotel dining reservations several weeks prior to arrival (at least). But if you don't, there are many options. Not to worry. Relax!

Yelp
We had a great sty the food is good but pricey. The staff at Avista (restaurant and pool) was great and fun to be around. These people deserve 5/5 The reason why only 3 out of 5 The management of this place is mediocre at best. When we arrived we had a lengthy and exhausting process of checking in. But where I lost my confidence in the establishment was when a 400$ bracelet went missing after the room was cleaned. The management was in no way accommodating or even thought of taking any responsibility and blatantly said "well go to the police then" (it was our last day). Their "investigation" into the matter was a bad joke. "We asked the girl who cleaned the room and she never saw it" -- sorry but not good enough. Hotel management was not trying to help but was defensive and deflected. Even trying to get them to recognize this incident at all was a fight. It was handled poorly and reflected atrociously kn the entire stay.
