15 Iconic Dishes That Define Barcelona - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"Ask anyone in town for the city’s best tortilla and they’ll say, “My mom’s place.” If you haven’t found yourself a Spanish or Catalan mom, you’ll have to go for the next best thing. It’s the potato and chorizo omelet at Cal Pep, a loud, cheery El Born stalwart that’s been around since before the neighborhood became trendy. This eggy wonder is the kind of thing we wake up craving on mornings after a heavy night: a golden, crisp exterior smothered in zingy alioli and a creamy, molten inside full of potato and chorizo, oozing goodness as you cut into it. The gooey truffled tortilla at Bar Alegria and the rich, yolk-ey Betanzós omelet at Batea also deserve a shoutout here." - isabelle kliger

Above average tortillas, they have a lot of choices. Nice environment and nice, helpful staff. The ones with chorizo and trufa were good though.

Great variety of Spanish tortillas. We all had something different and everyone loved their choices. The service was good considering there was a language barrier. The dining area is big and spacious. Great spot for traditional Spanish cuisine with some extra flare.

Fantastic Tortillas! Never saw a place that served so many flavours. Octopus was my favourite! Brie was awesome and eel with shrimp was also gooooood. Would highly recommend if you like tortillas. It was pretty crowded by the way and we were lucky to get a table for 45 minutes. I would suggest making a reservation. Best place to have 😁 I personally did not like the chocolate tortilla, I ordered as the waiter said it’s the best. Waiters are very friendly and guide well

My first time and I absolutely loved it! We tried 7 different tortillas and they were all cooked perfectly! we both loved the spinach, goat cheese and pine nuts one 😍 my favourite was the croissant and jamón one! And I also recommend the smash burger tortilla! Can’t wait to come back to see new options on the menu

Beginning and farewell. We were expecting more given all the hype that’s been around this place. The specialty is Spanish Omelette. However, what I liked the most were their croquettes.

100% recommended if you want to try something traditional with a twist and still good quality and tasty…i think its perfect for tourists because its not croweded and its in residential area. Their best tortillas are not the traditional though…i would recommend to order the croissant and prosciutto, octopus tortilla and last chorizo or butifarra… we also tried croquetas and were really nice. Desserts were better than expected but nothing mindblowing… the choco tortilla its like a very creamy soft brownie.. a bit of vanilla ice cream or citric sauce would be nice to contrast the sweetness… In terms of food i think its 4 stars, but the service was so nice and friendly i will give one star to that and also because i think this place deserves more fame

Order the standard 3 tortillas per person where u get to choose from a huge variety of different flavours. From classics to unique flavours. Portion is just nice too. Good to reserve if you can. If not, you try to walk in at their dinner opening time since the locals eat quite late.

Next-level tortilla omelets. Super creative, unique, rich and velvety. The €13 set let you get 3 pieces. "Ham and Croissant" was a delight like no other. The chorizo one is a perfected classic. "Pesto Pasta" and Octopus were exceptional too
