Les Vignes et son Jardin

"This bistro serves tasty food that is infused with local flair and made with seasonal ingredients. Dine in the wine - tasting cellar in winter and in the garden, among the vines, in summer. All in a hotel that is in itself worth a look!" - Michelin Inspector

Exploring Provence's Luberon Valley By Bike (and Car, and Foot)

"Rooted in Coquillade’s sprawling 5,000m² estate garden, this restaurant leans hard into local, seasonal cooking: produce from dozens of mint and tomato varieties, peppers, cucumbers, butternut squash, berries, herbs, and frequently harvested artichokes funnels straight to the kitchen, with an additional 30–40% of vegetables in summer sourced from nearby farmers. The team uses the property’s own olive oil here (the Italian venue uses Italian oil), and honey from the hotel’s 20 beehives sweetens things in good years, with local apiaries filling the gap when needed." - Sophie Friedman

We dined here several times during our stay. Mostly we dined outdoors, but one night was stormy and everyone was inside. Regardless of the weather the staff was charming, professional, knowledgeable and almost all of them were fluent in English. The food was excellent and well prepared. The champagne and wines from their own vineyards were quite good. They all went the extra mile to make us happy. I see some complaints about the pace of the evening, and I think people from the US (like us) have to understand that while dinner in the US might last an hour, in France they expect it to last two or more, and that is what they plan for. If you need a different pace be clear. We did make a reservation every evening we dined there.

Heaven on earth, easy as that! Definitely 5 star place, people & service! Food was excellent, not a big menu but very qualitative and tasty! The entire property is simply spectacular. We had an amazing diner with a beautiful walk afterwards. Thank you!

What’s going wrong here? Despite many bad reviews about the service and the kitchen, we were curious about this beautiful location. The place and the setting are incomparably beautiful and promise a lovely and enjoyable evening. The reception was a bit rough and no one really had time to welcome the guests. Okay, that can happen. We got a nice table and made ourselves comfortable. We would have liked to enjoy an aperitif, but no one came to ask us about it. The restaurant was quite full and there was little staff. It seems that management here is optimizing costs at the expense of the staff and the customers. Let's see. The service was good and we were able to order after a while. The starter was good and arrived after about 30 minutes. But then came the long wait. We had to ask three times if our main course would come. The waiter did a good job, but he just couldn't get the food and was overwhelmed with the many tables. 90 minutes after the starter, the main course finally arrived. Stressed and somewhat carelessly presented, it was served to us. He apologized and said there was a mix-up and we were the victims. Paying was just as frustrating. After four attempts to pay, I finally went directly to the kitchen and paid the bill there. What a disappointment for such a location. Shame, shame, shame. I do not blame the waiter for this very poor performance. But in such an expensive restaurant, it cannot be that you only receive the main course two hours after arriving. That you can't pay the bill. Management is doing a poor job here. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and there was also not enough service staff on site. Who is in charge here and why don't they hire enough people? The very high prices should justify good service. Well, we won't be coming here again. There are so many other good and service-oriented restaurants in the area.

The location is beautiful and the service professional. However, the food is below average and very overpriced. I returned nearly my entire main course (squid) and explained to the waitress that there was far too much vinegar in the dish. She took it back, but I wasn’t offered an alternative or any form of „compensation“. We were fully charged even for the poor main course. There are too many excellent restaurants in the region to choose this restaurant again.

I very rarely leave reviews but I feel compelled to share some feedback on this occasion. The view is superb and the service is courteous and professional but the food is well below par at best. The poulet de Bresse was extremely rubbery (significantly overcooked) and the sauce tasteless and way too liquid. Absolute amateur hour. The starters were forgettable at best and only one desert (the olive oil ice cream dish) really stood out out of 6 dishes. I would strongly recommend you avoid this restaurant, there are many phenomenal establishments in the Luberon and this one is nothing short of a disgrace food wise (la Table du Mas is a 20 min drive and I can assure you you will leave this restaurant with memories to last you a lifetime for the same price). This hotel should really consider hiring a proper chef.

The view of the vineyards is as breathtaking as ever. Unfortunately, the new and ridiculously expensive menu also cuts off your breath. We were looking forward to top dishes, but were served ordinary cuisine at a luxury price.
