L'Escarbille

"Abutting the railway lines, this town house (once the station café) has morphed into a gourmet restaurant, with a chic, modern vibe and adorned with photos and artwork. The recipes are the work of a seasoned chef, Régis Douysset, who is backed up by a crack team in the kitchen. The ingredient-led cuisine is flawlessly cooked and precisely seasoned, a case in point being the cod, fresh morels and watercress. These dishes are accompanied by meticulously selected wines from small-scale producers. You can also enjoy your meal on the terrace. Valet parking available." - Michelin Inspector

First class in every respect. The service was charming, attentive and efficient. The food beautifully presented and genuinely delicious. Wine list had some excellent bottles at sensible prices. We will return soon!

For a Michelin star restaurant, I find the price to be more than reasonable (at least the lunch menu during the week). The food was delicious. They very kindly cutom made a meal for our son on the spot. The chef and his wife chatted with us for 15 minutes as we were leaving.

While admittedly expensive, the food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We were a table of 6 and all took the tasting menu with paired wine. I would have loved to see an additional red or two in the pairing, though all the parings were logical relative to the dishes served. We had a couple dietary considerations with some members of the dinner party and the chef provided stellar alternatives and/or modifications on the few dishes where it would have been an issue. The presentation was lovely, the staff very accommodating and engaging.

So good, If you are looking for the best French cuisine in a cozy ambience and warm and competent service, L’Escarbille is highly recommended!” Absolutely stunning food and wine served with great care and charm. Highlights were the sweetbreads and the blood orange soufflé.

Absolutely stunning food and wine served with great care and charm. Highlights were the sweetbreads (an unexpected treat) and the blood orange soufflé. The set menu / prix fixe options are even fairly reasonably priced! Definitely worth the short trip from central Paris.

The food is really superb! The taste of the dandelion purée with snail will stay in my mouth for a long time. Initially, the obligation to have a fixed menu “carte blanche” when the number of guests exceeds 6 seems a bit of nuisance. It means you have to completely rely on the chef for what you will eat. But after having experienced this 6 courses meal, I can assure potential customers that it is really a worthy experience. My advice is also to let you be guided for the choice of the wines: their wine list is simply wonderful. Finally, I would like to stress the quality of the service, which is always friendly and never obsequious. A great experience!

Google
Overall much below average for a 1 star Michelin restaurant. - Food nicely executed but without any special taste you will remember afterward, - Cold and very slow service (even heard some shouting coming from kitchen), - Bourgogne red wine served too warm, - No good selection of wine by the glass

Yelp
One of the finest places around here. It might not be looking as trendy and snobby as other Michelin starred places but the food is excellent, the staff is extremely helpful (and multi lingual), always up for a fun conversation and the atmosphere is great. Nobody is giving you the evil eye when your party is getting a bit louder, enjoying a great evening. I have been here several times and the standard of quality was excellent each time. No one-hit-wonder. It really is a great place to dine and I highly recommend going there to whoever is in this area. Me not being a wine drinker myself I have I have been told by friends going there, their wine cellar is offering a wide range of excellent wines from all regions and their staff is giving excellent advise on which wine to select for the meal chosen.

Yelp
Loved loved the ambiance- very cozy backyard, not too pretentious like Michelin can be. Service wasn't as friendly - didn't feel welcome, the young lady and gentleman that helped us never smiled and felt like they were just reading lifeless script. Half of the time never refilled our glasses and we served ourselves. Sommelier was super friendly and welcoming. Food was quite a disappointment for a 1-star Michelin establishment . We ordered two different tasting menus. On one, fish was way too strong and salty. On another, it was too bland. Apperetif were dough heavy without featuring any interesting ingredients. With so much great food across Michelin recommended, I would pass on this one!

Yelp
Delicious food! We came here on our way to see Versaille. The service was prompt, helpful and courteous. The food came out looking fabulous, we had white truffle, pigeon, sweets, wine, and tasty cakes. Presentation of the food was top notch, every plate looked cleanly crafted and added to the taste of the food. The food came out hot, bubbly and you could tell care was put making these dishes. The dessert...home made to perfection. Plus they gave us little sweets afterwards. Why not 5 stars? This is suppose to be a high end place yet there were few flies buzzing by which was quite annoying when you are trying to enjoy a nice lunch. Overall satisfied, a good meal made the day even better.

Yelp
Toujours excellent Nous y allons tres souvent a l'Escarbille. C'est toujours excellent. Service impeccable et des bons conseils sur le choix de plats et le vin. En tout cas, on adore! Pour un restaurant de ce qualite le prix est honnete.
