The Grey Will Bring Its Southern Cooking to Paris With a New Restaurant Next Year | Eater

"A longtime casual 7th-arrondissement café known for morning coffee, brasserie lunches, and early-evening wine is being transformed under new ownership by American restaurateurs Mashama Bailey and Johno Morisano. Without fanfare the tiny kitchen began serving Southern dishes — red rice balls, chicken country captain, and smoked fish dip — alongside classic Parisian offerings like croque monsieurs, steak tartare, and salades vertes, signaling a formal relaunch planned for early 2024 under a new name. The concept will center on French-focused cooking with explicit nods to Southern, port-city techniques and preparations; the interior seats about 50, an outdoor terrace adds extra seating, and a wine cellar below the dining room will be used for private dining." - Osayi Endolyn

Ordered plat du jour which was stewed veal. Portion kinda big and tasted good! Service was OK but since I ate at almost 3pm when the lunch time came to an end, the noise of collecting used dishes was unbearable! The price was reasonable in the area.

Quite expensive, though nice old school café. Bar staff were quite rude and abrupt though, shouting at me when I wanted to go the toilet rather than being polite - not nice when you're a paying customer!

Ok, the men's toilet experience is unbelievable. No, seriously it's clean and the drinks are good. The men's toilet is a vey nice tiled clean hole in the floor.. You must give this one a try or you are missing out!!! Also the service and drinks are great!

Just walked past this place and had to go in. Great little pub/bar that has a really cool atmosphere. Managed to have a chat with the barmen even though neither of us could speak each others language. Good place for a quick stop
