"Previously Laurent Petit's sous-chef at Le Clos des Sens in Annecy-le-Vieux, Stéphane Dattrino has branched off to open his own restaurant that is pretty as a picture. Behind its discreet façade, there are plenty of tables for two (opt for one upstairs) and, despite its deliberately relaxed feel, the service here is very much on the mark. With a sure hand, the chef creates flavoursome and colourful dishes, his seasonal palette combining top-quality produce, such as local plants and herbs. Line-caught hake from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, endive compote; crispy calf sweetbreads and salsify medley – these are dishes that are big on flavour." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Top notch place. We got to meet the wonderful lady that owns the restaurant with her husband. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. Great wine list too. The chef added surprises which made the experience really fun.

Exceptional food, service and value. We had the great value lunch menu (appetiser + 3 courses for just €55) and the food was delicious. Accommodating to vegetarians, those with a thirsty fork only for fish, and meat eaters (as well as any dietary requirement you may throw their way, e.g. “only a moderate amount of egg or cream”). All this comes at no compromise to the exquisite palate of flavours they throw your way. Lovely staff passionate about their craft welcoming you with open arms, truly deserving of their Michelin Star 🌟 A worthwhile note that I think I used my favourite ever fork here. It was both rustic, clean and perfectly weighted (I prefer a heavy type). The knife was good too but the fork stole the show. There was a late spoon which looked like it had been cast from some kind of metal (possibly tin?); and reminded me of a craft I recently became aware of where people cast metal objects using the brittle and mechanically soft properties of the inside of a cuttlefish bone.

We did the 9-course+ menu and it was far too filling! Highly suggest opting for the 5- or 6-course options instead. Dinner was good (nothing remarkable), but special shout out to the preparation of the local trout. Rather despised the “special” dish from the chef (balance/taste seemed to be an afterthought). We’ve certainly had better 1* meals but, for this price tag and the location in the heart of Annecy, I’d say it’s a great value. Very cute chubby bird decor though!

Wonderful service by Manon. The food was fantastic, my favourites being the tomato dish, cauliflower/cabbage dish, and of course desserts.

One of the best places in downtown Annecy to enjoy fine dining in a cozy place. The staff is extremely friendly. Food was amazing.

We had a warm and friendly welcome from Magali, who runs L'Esquisse with her husband, Stéphane. She immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease in their cozy restaurant, which only had three tables of two on the ground floor. The menu is a surprise for everyone, including Magali, who knows the details of the menu a few moments before serving. The menu was comfortable and delicious, based on local and seasonal products and cuisine—while still having some playful elements. We look forward to returning some day.

Superb. Sublime food. Outstanding service. We are a pescatarian, and the fish options were incredible.... (We are big gourmet-gourmands, and travel everywhere and this was the best meal we've had.... )

Solid seasonal tasting menu, but some of the dishes were a bit off (eg. The cheese pre-dessert was delicious, but so intense — it should be one bite instead of an entire bowl; amouse-bouche was not tasty).

Yelp
Very delicious food, and a great Michelin experience in Annecy for those looking for a fine dining option! The plates are absolutely beautiful, and the food and service compliment this beautifully. The restaurant is small and cozy, but the design remains modern and hip. Would definitely go again! The only critique I would give is regarding the dessert. It is not bad, but does not nearly live up to the Michelin reputation. When we went, our options were either ice cream or this interesting cheese foam, but neither was anything complex or something to rave about. Especially in France! Still would love to go again, even if you have to pick up dessert down the road :P

Yelp
Now I know why they earned a Michelin star. Ended up with the 8 course menu. The price of the meal is just right. Can't get this type of a deal in Los Angeles. The progression of the meal was excellent. Dishes were very appealing and had the taste to match the visual experience. A must place to eat when in Annecy.

Yelp
The very first French restaurant that I tried in ANNECY! I found it in the Michelin guide and decided to give it a go. Very delicious and delicate food, the service is very caring and comfortable;) I recommend the menu "5 sensations", with this menu you can nearly try everything of this excellent restaurant!
