L'Essentiel

One of the loveliest dining experiences - the chef is an artist and a master of the cuisine. Front of the house are knowledgeable, kind, and professional. Our first visit to Dijon! They are a small local bistro with set menu options. We selected 3 courses plus optional local cheese plate.

We went in for a quick lunch at 30 EUR for a starter and a main. It was delicious and the service was quick and attentive. I would visit again if in Dijon again.

Excellent ! From start to finish, every bite is a true source of happiness. Seasoning is great , and savors perfectly balance. A very good place to consider while in Dijon. Service is also fantastic thanks for this great time.

Amazing restaurant with lovely waiters and a very nice atmosphere. You can really feel the care that has gone into the menu, cooking and service. We opted for the set menu of three courses, very reasonably priced at €54. However they also brought around some very tasty amuse bouches to start as well as some sweet treats to finish - not to mention the very good bread they kept us supplied with throughout the meal. Each course was delicious, with carefully selected and interesting ingredients that really popped on their own whilst complimenting the dish as a whole. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

Service was very welcoming and described each dish that came out, we went with the 6 course menu. The food was amazing, great combinations of flavours cooked to perfection. Plated beautifully. Fantastic experience highly recommended for a fine dining experience in Dijon.

Really lovely modern Restaurant with creative cuisine. We went for lunch which is a good value. The first courses we're fantastic and our favorite part of the meal. The main dishes we're also good but didn't match the creativity and deliciousness of the entrées, but the fish was perfectly cooked. Service could have been a little more helpful, a language barrier was a bit of an issue but we muddled through. Nice wine list but no guidance for it.

Had the most fantastic evening here. I have very basic French at best, but that proved no problem. The front of house team are excellent and were able to describe everything in English for me. I've eaten some very good food on this trip to France, but this would rate right up there. It's not cheap, but you get the full experience and it feels worth every cent. If I get back to Dijon, I'll certainly be coming back to L'Essentiel.

Everything I ate in this restaurant was delicious. Opted for the 3- course menu for €49. The appetizer was the only vegetarian option on the menu and that is ok. It didn’t hurt my feelings that the main course did not have a non-meat option as the roasted lamb plate with root vegetables was to die for. Literally. Every bite was slowly savored as I know I won’t get something as good anywhere else anytime soon. The service was impeccable. What an experience! 🤩
