L'Essentiel

Had the most fantastic evening here. I have very basic French at best, but that proved no problem. The front of house team are excellent and were able to describe everything in English for me. I've eaten some very good food on this trip to France, but this would rate right up there. It's not cheap, but you get the full experience and it feels worth every cent. If I get back to Dijon, I'll certainly be coming back to L'Essentiel.

Service was very welcoming and described each dish that came out, we went with the 6 course menu. The food was amazing, great combinations of flavours cooked to perfection. Plated beautifully. Fantastic experience highly recommended for a fine dining experience in Dijon.

Really lovely modern Restaurant with creative cuisine. We went for lunch which is a good value. The first courses we're fantastic and our favorite part of the meal. The main dishes we're also good but didn't match the creativity and deliciousness of the entrées, but the fish was perfectly cooked. Service could have been a little more helpful, a language barrier was a bit of an issue but we muddled through. Nice wine list but no guidance for it.

Everything I ate in this restaurant was delicious. Opted for the 3- course menu for €49. The appetizer was the only vegetarian option on the menu and that is ok. It didn’t hurt my feelings that the main course did not have a non-meat option as the roasted lamb plate with root vegetables was to die for. Literally. Every bite was slowly savored as I know I won’t get something as good anywhere else anytime soon. The service was impeccable. What an experience! 🤩

Delightful lunch at L’essentiel. Appetizing cold starters perfect for the summer. The fish works perfectly with the soft creamy aubergine, and the tiny crunchy vegetable piece added to the texture of the sauce. The slow-cooked veal was good too.

What an amazing dining experience! Balanced flavours and food textures, attention to food presentation and excellent service. We reserved a table on the same day over the phone and we got the four-service formula. There is a small back terrace which is lovely - would highly recommend this place!

Perfect experience! This hidden gem offers exquisite cuisine worthy of a michelin star at affordable prices. Higher recommended!

Every dish is spot on for taste, texture & flavour. We can see the glittering eyes of the chef with lots of passion in what he is doing. Impressive wine list and excellence service for the front of house. We will be back if we are in the area.
