The 9 Best Paella In Barcelona - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"The mostly industrial seaside suburb of Badalona doesn’t get as much foot traffic from visitors as other parts of the city, but that’s just because more people haven’t heard of L’Estupendu. Translated as “the stupendous,” lunch here is just that. Think of this place as “beach casual,” with a spacious patio that overlooks the waterfront and more seafood than you could ever eat in one sitting. Expect bowls overflowing with grilled mussels and clams à la marinière, and, of course, huge portions of arroz negro with razor clams and crab. This is also a great place for fideuà—L’Estupendu’s noodle spin on arroz comes loaded with shellfish." - isabelle kliger

It's a famous seaside restaurant to eat and chill out in Badalona. The quality is good but could be improved. The service is slow

A firm favourite. Summer weekends, outside with a great atmosphere. The croquettes de sepia are really good. The grilled mussels are delicious. A xiringuito with exceptional quality.

Location absolutely stunning! Service great but it stops there. Very overpriced for what we got. Fish was overcooked and very very greasy. Croquettas were good but nothing great. The seared Tuna was ok..the sauce on the tuna however not so great. Overall disappointed but the views made up for the bad food.

L'Estupendu is one or my favourite restaurants in Barcelona outskirts and definitely one of the best chiringuitos on the area. Due Covid the menu is a bit shorter than it used to be, but it is definitely good enough: 4 fishes, 3 meats, 5 rives, 1 fideuà and, most important, plenty of excellent tapas for the entre. Best approach is to share few tapas (sonsos, fried artichokes, cuttlefish croquettes,..) and then take any of their exquisite rices. They do also have a decent wine list. Service very friendly despite some are too new in t'he business. Finally the views: gorgeous sea views as it sits on front of the sea shore. Just make you book a table in the first line. Arrived at time for my reservation. Waitress seemed annoyed but still seated me. I was alone and I guess that's not good business for them. Doesn't happen often but does happen when you're a solo traveler. I ate the salmon tartar and sirloin steak. It was good but a bit too raw for me :p

The food is amazing, really delicious paella. Nice place and good service. A waitress accidentally drop a coke on my wife's white hoodie and they take care of the laundry and we offered the dessert for the inconvenients that this caused us. 👍

Restaurant with amazing bites and nice view to the beach! We were a group of people and I asked specifically to prepare the paella without gluten! Menu is without allergen labelling, but they are happy to accommodate your needs!

Good food but a bit too expensive. I guess it is the price to pay for the sea view. Disadvantage: many unskilled (probably seasonal) waitress, that seemed to be stressed while serving English speaking customers, for example they brought me still water instead of sparkling, they forgot about my order of an orange juice... Small things but can be irritating. But the way the senior waiter presented and served us paella in the end was very nice.

Yelp
The views!!! We visited here based on the recommendations one of our Taxi drivers gave us. It was a bit further north pass Barceloneta. I believe the beach is called Pont Del Petroli Beach, it was located on a more remote section of the coast with beautiful beaches and walkways with several restaurants next to the sand. * Note, if your staying into the heart of the city, this beach / restaurants requires a cab drive. It's a bit far for scooter or bikes * We were seated and I must say the views of the ocean and beach was spectacular. It was a really nice view of a crystal blue ocean with sandy beaches and palms, simply gorgeous. Now the food, I found the food to be a bit overpriced compared to the portions and prices in the Gothic quarter where we were staying. We had Croquettes that were absolutely delicious. Extremely flaky with good consistency and fried perfectly. We also ordered Gambas al ajillo, now it was a slight error when they brought us Gambas en Salsa ... however they quickly corrected the issue... They were delicious, cooked perfectly with olive oil and garlic cloves. We also ordered pan con tomate which was soft in the middle and crispy on the edges. All in all it was a good experience, I would probably find something a little closer to Barceloneta since it's closer to town and cheaper but the views were amazing!

Yelp
IMPORTANT: Please don't follow this review for food as I haven't tried it yet. Will update later as we would like to try their Restaurant. We only had the chance to visit the bar and grab a beer. I am giving it this rating for the place and the experience. 4 Stars for: Great atmosphere, location and authentic-looking place. Located right in front of Badalona's Platja del Pont de Petroli. The place and decor remind me of Venezuelan beach restaurants with an authentic vintage feeling, not just made up with brand new furniture intentionally made to look vintage.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant three times in one week when we were holidaying in the area, only because the food was very good, but it was possibly the worst customer service I have ever received in a restaurant. I don't know if the staff here just don't like tourists but we felt extremely unwelcome. We were ignored by staff and every time we finally got their attention they were very unpleasant to deal with. It seemed as though they did not want the business. When we arrived on what would be our final visit here, the hostess was on her phone and so we walked to a table at the back. My partner went to the bar to order drinks and brought them back to our table. We then waited for 30 minutes without being acknowledged or approached. After trying to catch the staff's attention and being ignored, I approached a member of staff to see if we could order and was told that we could not order food because of where we were sitting (we had sat here previously and ordered food). We waited at the bar for a table to become free and our glasses were empty at this stage but we could not get the barman's attention - at one point he was texting on his phone. We eventually had to call him over. When we did get a table, we rushed to it as the staff did not call us over. We sat down and had to get up again to ask for a menu as no one came over to give us one. As mentioned, the food is very good here but that was the only positive aspect of each of our visits. On our first visit here, I ordered frites. When the waiter brought over the rest of our food he knocked the frites on to the ground and walked off - I was not offered a replacement. I felt the staff were not comfortable interacting with us and if we were back in Ireland this service would be completely unacceptable.
