I’ve visited a handful of times now and am looking forward to returning this October as it’s my favorite natural wine shop in the world. Hervé introduced me to some incredible wine and was quick to remove the “pretentiousness” that comes with a lot of wine shops. Stopping here is an experience, a really great experience. Looking forward to coming back!

We visited L’Étiquette hoping to enjoy the warm, knowledgeable wine atmosphere it’s praised for. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing and quite the opposite. I attempted to place our order in French, listening to the owner about which wines to try. When he asked me a question quickly and I apologised (in French), he rolled his eyes, and then repeated the same question a moment later in perfect English. From then on, he largely ignored us: barely acknowledging our presence, didn’t respond when we thanked him, nor reply goodbye as we left. As someone who makes an effort with the language and was genuinely interested in his wine recommendations, I found his behaviour unnecessarily dismissive. It felt as if he was unwilling to engage with anything but fluent French speakers or wine-insiders. There are many great wine bars in Paris where passion, patience, and respect go hand in hand - this sadly was not one of them for us.

We popped in twice. The second time we did the tasting withHervé and it was a wonderful experience. It is so far removed from what you expect a wine tasting to be and will probably change your approach to drinking. Above all it's just a lovely place to spend some time and get some wonderful wine. You really should go before it's gone. Thanks for a big highlight of our trip. Brad and Vicky x

Great wine shop with an amazing selection. We did a tasting with Hervé and learned a lot about natural wine. It was a highlight of our trip to Paris. When the tasting was over he recommended two other wines based on ones we liked and we took those (plus a baguette and some French cheese) to Sacre Coeur to watch the light fade over the city. Hervé even recommended a restaurant to dine at in Montmartre that serves natural wine (Chez Eugene). Book a tasting ahead of time by email, you won’t regret it! Merci á Hervé et bonne journée.

An excellent experience to learn about natural wines and their process from the owner's point of view. I tried many different wines and what I took most was the point of view of someone very passionate about the subject. Unfortunately, with whom we shared a group, some guys from the Netherlands were very rude. One of them left a very passive-aggressive comment below, this guy is Jasper Peer. He was a violent person, he yelled and threw things on the floor, how the owner was able to cope with the situation and continue with the tasting was surprising. I don't know how to report that person but be careful with that individual if ever visits your shop or restaurant cuz if he does agree he could be violent! Everything else about the place was very very nice, We took some wines home with us!

Amazing find. Hervé is a fountain of knowledge about biodynamic / natural wines and an incredibly charming and fun host. His wine selection is superb and extremely diverse, picked with enormous care and laser focus on quality rather than reputation or brand /marketing. Elaine and Hervé will make your day!

My absolute favorite wine shop in Paris! Hervé has created a welcoming environment to learn about the world of natural wine. Before frequenting his shop, I would not have been able to tell the difference between conventional and natural wine, but after a few trips to the shop, I can see, taste, and feel the difference and greatly prefer it. The store has a great selection of reds and whites (and has lots of bottles chilled and ready to take and drink!) at very reasonable price points. The shop is usually my first stop when arriving in the city and my most recommended place for visitors. Also - do yourself a favor and order the oysters from across the street that they’ll deliver to the store - you won’t find better.

my favorite natural wine shop and bar in Paris, Hervé is so knowledgeable and has the best recommendations. Both Hervé and Elaine are wonderful people who are passionate about what they do and create such an amazing vibe. L’etiquette is a MUST!!!!!!!
