The 19 Best Desserts In London

"The old fashioned chocolate cake from L’eto caffe is a four-tier thing of beauty with chocolate cream and raspberry between each cake layer, covered with chocolate glazing, raspberry crumble, and major Matilda energy. It’s moist, plus the fresh raspberry makes the richness less overwhelming and adds a nice fruity tang. Perfect for Roald Dahl fans who have been dreaming of that cake since they were six years-old. There’s plenty of seating in this flower-filled Soho spot, and aside from the moreish chocolate number, there’s a variety of cakes on display so you’ll always find something for everyone. " - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

L'ETO Caffè - Brompton - Review - London - The Infatuation

"One of our top choices when it comes to chocolate cake, L’eto is a west London mini-chain of aesthetically pleasing cafes with cakes that actually taste as good as they look. In keeping with its OTT cake display, the iced coffees arrive to your table looking like a science experiment. Picture a glass filled with black coffee ice cubes, another beaker-type glass filled with warm milk, and another little glass beaker filled with condensed milk. Pour it all over the ice cubes and you’ve got a very sweet iced coffee. The coffee feels secondary in this little experiment, so we’d say it’s perfect for someone who likes theatre with their drinks, rather than someone who “just can’t” before their morning caffeine fix. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

What a lovely find! We couldn’t walk past after seeing the cakes in the window and had to go in…and then could t choose so we had to have three between two of us 😂🐷. They were all amazing (we tried to go for healthy drinks to counteract the calories 🙈). We didn’t eat the food but it looked amazing (and very big portions).

I had an amazing experience at Café L’eto! I ordered the Dulce De Leche, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, smooth, and perfectly sweet. Jenisha, who served me, was incredibly sweet and helpful, making the whole visit even better. Her warm and friendly service truly made my day. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Café L’eto to anyone looking for a great treat and wonderful service!

This is a quaint cafe with a selection of desserts for a quick stop in Brompton Road. Desserts and drinks aren't for the sweet toothed individual. We requested sugar for the hot chocolate and the Chocolate Fudge Cake was too bitter. Should have specified the cocoa content percentage for the youngsters.

We had a fabulous time, I had the pistachio and berry cake which is unforgettable. Quick service and a beautiful display window of all the cakes. Would definitely recommend

The place was nearly empty but the service was bad it take long time and no smile on their faces. We are 2 we order pot of tea they bring one cup. The Arabic coffee comes worm not hot as should it be. This is the first time I hope it will not be a habit to the hosts it is bad for the place Because of this we finish our food and leave without reordering any thing else

L’ETO Brompton Road is a great spot for a cozy meal. I ordered pasta with prawns, and it was absolutely delicious—the prawns were fresh and juicy, and the pasta was cooked perfectly with a flavorful sauce that tied everything together. The portion size was just right, and the ingredients tasted high-quality. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a lovely place to enjoy a relaxed meal. The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience. A great place for a casual meal with high-quality food!

Google
Love the interiors and the cakes were delish, especially the chocolate fudge or the pistachio one 🫠 Unfortunately the service was really bad, firstly we waited 25min for a drinks to be brought, then another 15 minutes for the cakes..I guess you would expect better. Then we waited 20min for the bill to be brought along with the cakes we ordered for take away - we had to go to the counter the remind about ourselves and wait another 10 min for the actual cakes to be packed🙄 Despite the cakes being to die for, after experiencing that lengthy service I am not planning to come back ever again.

Google
For those who plan on visiting L’eto for the eye-catching cakes you will have a wonderful experience. The area of specialty is cakes, my opinion. However, My colleague and I decided to try their brunch experience and we were left unimpressed. My colleague who had the club sandwich said “the appearance trumped taste.” As you all know I said it once and more then happy to repeat ones previous statement which was I do not like apricot on ones French toast. It’s an unappealing combination and the apricot just doesn’t compliment the French toast, my personal perspective. Do try the cakes, there are plenty of options and you will surely find one you like.

Yelp
Stopped by after being drawn in by the beautiful cakes on display (my friend and I were on a trip in London for the first time and this was a block away from Harrods). Unfortunately, service was incredibly slow -- it took half an hour just to get water and for our orders to be placed and another half for our drinks. We ended up canceling the cakes. The café is cute and the food looked good from nearby tables, but the wait was disappointing.

Yelp
Overpriced and inefficiently managed with abysmal service. Epitome of an Instagram cafe.

Yelp
I walked by this shop so many times ogling over the delicate cakes and pastries in the window. We finally stopped here and tried the raspberry cheesecake and chocolate cake. Both were excellent, but the price tag was STEEP; the cost was about as much as a good meal. The service was also awful. I would recommend picking up a piece of something as a gift for someone, or to get it as a treat to go.

Kymberlyn B.

Yelp
This place is as good as it looks! We stopped in just for dessert and it did not disappoint! I got the cheesecake and my friend got the pistachio, rose cake and they were both sooo delicious. The staff member helping us was so friendly and attentive and it was overall a really great experience!

Yelp
Woof. Went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and they only had one chef on staff. I was seated right away but had to wait over an hour for food. It wasn't even that busy.

Sam Z.

Yelp
Service was very hard to find throughout the meal. Food took forever to come out. My friend and I entered at a weird time of day (4pm), but the restaurant still had several tables full. Food itself was fun looking and fine tasting. The vibe of the restaurant was strange, and servers generally were not checking in quite enough, even with empty plates/water glasses in front of us.

Yelp
I adored this place! My boyfriend and I ended up in London earlier this month trying to fly back to the United States. We arrived in London on my birthday and were lucky that this place was still open and serving cakes. I had a lovely cream-filled cake with blueberries. It was not too sweet but just sweet enough. Obviously, there are many cake and pastry shops in London to choose from but I was glad we ended up here!

Yelp
I have just left L'eto on Kings Road.. midday on a Tuesday. ( March 5) There was only 1 table but when I asked to be seated, I was told it was takeout only. When I asked why, the server said," I'm tired and hungry, and I want to eat, too." It didn't seem like she was working under arduous conditions, but the response was strange and unsettling. It doesn't seem as if the establishment is run efficientmy. When I came on a separate occasion, it took roughly 45 minutes for an avocado tartine. While the displays are beautiful and the food is quite good, I will not be returning. Peggy Porschen , just down the street, seemed quite capable of producing an avocado tartine within just a few minutes. L'eto seems to feel customers are dispensable. Given there are a plethora of options in London, I would advise against that.

Yelp
Ok, I wanted to give this less than 5 stars only because one of the waiters kept holding the tray of hot tea pretty much directly over my wife's head...but since he didn't spill on her, I'll let it slide. Other than that, the tea and cakes were outstanding. There were four of us and we each got something different... The deserts were phenomenal. The variety was great and each tasted fresh and perfectly baked or cooked. The teas were amazing and I got a cappuccino, which I loved. The inside was decorated well and I think there were two or three tables out front, but it was pretty chilly outside so we sat inside. It's comfortable and cozy inside and you don't feel like you're in each others space, even though the tables are relatively close. We noticed that there were at least half a dozen people who just came in for a quick coffee or tea and then left, which was kind of cool.

Yelp
The best eggs Benedict I've ever had, no kidding. I got the eggs royale and the smoked salmon that they used was SO CREAMY. And the bread was super soft. Hollandaise sauce was not too sweet or sour. I would eat this every week for brunch if I could. Definitely no complaints about this. So why the four stars? For one, it is a bit pricey for only a little bit of food. I left not hungry, by definitely not full. And the other meal that I got, a tortellini with crayfish, was very bland. I could barely taste anything and had to pour a bunch of salt into the plate.

Yelp
4 stars for their desserts: layered honey cake and green tea cake. 3 stars for their regular food. Simple classic pasta and salad dishes (most of them premade and sitting out for you to chose to preheat) aren't bad but their dessert is where they shine.

Yelp
TL;DR: don't go here if you have any type of allergy! most disrespectful staff in the world. Absolutely shocking attitude from the staff here, especially towards my cousin who has an allergy. From the moment we walked in the staff were rude to us. Our party of 5 was squashed into a tiny table with barely any room to move our hands. When it came to ordering, the waitress interrogated my cousin about his walnut allergy, asking what would happen if a walnut were to be in the same pan as his steak sandwich. then proceeded to tell us if he has a severe allergy they would be unable to serve us!!! even when i asked why they couldn't just use a different pan (she told us it was hypothetical anyway). Food service was slow and we were interrogated again about the allergy when the food eventually came. Food is mid at best and extremely overpriced. Asked for tap water and waiter treated this as a major inconvenience. No apology from the staff when we complained about this encounter. Overall I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Never been treated so disrespectfully.

Yelp
3 stars because the display is just so unbelievable to look at it's impossible to turn away! That being said, the cakes unfortunately don't live up to expectations. I've been to different locations (in hopes that the first location's kitchen just over-sweetened) but unfortunately they are all the same. The cakes are beautiful but so so so sweet. Some are even sickly sweet (beware of the honey cake). This time I went for the pink lady iced tea, the saffron tres leches and the pistachio & nougat cake. Pink lady Iced Tea: - definitely peachy and leche (hey, it's rhymes!) and very sweet! Would recommend either getting an iced tea OR a cake, not both! Saffron tres leches: - Growing up near a Colombian community, let's just say I'm no stranger to tres leches - so when I saw they had saffron tres leches I went for it without thinking twice. Weirdly the cake was gooey, thick, and sticky. The cake was heavy and not very sweet - almost tasteless tbh. Saffron doesn't typically have a strong flavor but that's kind of all you taste in this cake and it's just confusing. Pistachio & nougat cake: - Not sure if I read the label properly but the cake is more somewhere between a cheesecake and no-bake mousse. To my surprise, the cake is mixed with whole hazelnuts (love this!) and pistachios. Beware, this cake is super super sweet! WHAT TO TAKE AWAY: If you don't like sickly sweet cakes then just take some pictures and move on with your day.

Yelp
I highly recommend this cafe to anyone visiting London, even if you have just a short amount of time. Admittedly, my family and I only ordered off the dessert display as we were going out for dinner later (yes I know, we did dinner before dessert, fantastic parenting) but it was easily the best things I ate out of all the places I went to during my stay in London. I myself had the violet macaroon cake. The filling has raspberries and passionfruit-vanilla cream. If you are scared of the flavor "violet" (which I think is the same as lavender), don't worry - the cream is most of the flavor anyways. The macaroon was perfect and crumbled perfectly, you can tell these people know what they're doing as macaroons are extremely hard to master. I couldn't have been happier as I'm a big macaroon fan. My sister had the rose one and 2 she preferred it over mine. However, I preferred mine over hers, so I guess it's just preference really as the difference between the two cakes wasn't a lot. My brother ordered a strawberry tart (not pictured) which he loved, but I noticed he wasn't eating the base of it. When I asked him why, he said it was because there was an underlying flavor in it which he could not place. I tried it too, and I could tell it was some kind of nut. It drove me crazy (or nuts, you could say ) so we asked the waitress: pistachio! Even if you don't like pistachio the flavor is not even distinct enough to place but sensitive nut allergens beware I guess?? My parents ordered the coconut vanilla ice cream cake (this is not actually ice cream, it is made to be flavored like it) and were not very impressed with it. When the waitress came by to collect their plate and saw it was uneaten, she looked so upset that I wanted to say "we LOVED it" when she questioned us about it. Speaking of the waitresses, they were extremely kind and friendly towards us and easy to talk with. As for time, it took a surprisingly long amount for just plating our desserts (as we didn't order any actual meals that needed to be prepared). However this could've been due to the fact that they were busy since the place was full when we went in. 10/10 service and 9/10 for desserts! Highly recommend you check this place out.

Yelp
Cute and beautiful bakery near Harrod's! Also serves some food. The pastries were delicious! Serve all day breakfast, eggs, and regional entrees. Have all the traditional cupcake flavors, and new fun flavors too (like Rose and Lychee!). Love the whimsical window display. It's pricey so be prepared. Great for a late night treat- open late!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast after visiting the Victoria and Albert museum. Overall not impressed. The food was extremely expensive. A cup of coffee was 2x what you normally pay and nothing special. My crepe was cold and very bland. It came with fruit to put on the crepe but the amount they gave you was tiny.

Yelp
I'd give this place 7 stars if Yelp allows, it's truly a hidden gem in London!! My boyfriend and I didn't know about this place, but when we walked by, the outdoor seating area of the cafe immediately drew our attention- it was nicely fenced in, surrounded by colorful blooms, patio furniture was tastefully picked and it was packed with people chatting and laughing. Our instinct told us this must be a good place, so we walked in, wow, one word jumped in my head - elegant. It's like one of those nice cafes in Paris along the river. Staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Since it was early morning we didn't get a full meal, only tried their specialty latte and the pistachio cake, it was so rich and fresh that I could even taste the rose petals! Hands down the best I've ever had. Presentation was amazing too - see photo! Even to this day I still remember how good if was. "Count the memories, not the calories" is the slogan of the cafe, which I absolutely love. And they're right, great memories were definitely left behind at the Leto.

Yelp
Very nice space and beautiful desserts, but for £8.95 per slice, they should not be stale. We took away a cinnamon chocolate cake and a raspberry tart and both were very stale. Too bad, as the flavors, frostings and fruit were great on both. Hopefully it was a one-off issue.

Yelp
When it's cold and windy, nothing beats the smell of warm tea and coffee with some cakes on the side. Here we have them both.

Yelp
A truly great find during our 8 days in London. We had to return for a 2nd breakfast and for take away dessert on one of our last nights. Everything we had was very nicely prepared, even our children enjoyed the food and experience. Very friendly staff as well. Must return on our next visit!

Yelp
Super cute cafe! The coffee tastes great! Everything is presented in a very innovative way! Wish I wasn't too full to try the cakes.

Yelp
Good service ! Food is really good. Had a yummy "Eggs Royal" since they serve breakfast all day. Lox were stellar and hollandaise was very good. Air conditioning was very welcome as well.

Yelp
Had the pistachio cake with a cup of tea. It is absolutely scrumptious! Moist, just a touch. Just perfect.

Yelp
Nice but pricey cafe. The desserts were spectacularly cute and the drink I ordered came in a little cute teapot. The service here was not bad nor was it the best, and the atmosphere was complimented with their nice interior design.
google avatar

Gaidar M.

Yelp
Very good food, but the service is very slow. 15-20 mins to get a cup of coffee. Breakfasts are wonderful, if you don't mind waiting for very long.
google avatar

Zoe Z.

Yelp
I came here for both dinner and dessert and have a great experience. We ordered the mushroom risotto, the prawn/crayfish tortelloni and several pieces of cake including the rose petal/pistachio, the saffron?, and green tea/matcha cake. The risotto is rich and delicious. The pasta is good but a little dry. The cakes though are really the highlight. My favorite is the rose petal and pistachio. The cake was moist, and has the fragrance of the rose petal as well as the decadence of the pistachio. I highly recommend here for their desserts.

Yelp
I took a couple of different sweets take away. Because its very crowded inside, so I recommend to book before going.

Yelp
Loved it. Good food at reasonable prices. Excel tea. A great place for a tourist to eat healthy and save $$s.

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite cafe. The cakes there are sooo cute and fresh. The designs of them are also perfect. Been there every day when traveling in London:)

Steve G.

Yelp
I am obsessed with the porridge- if your American - think cream of wheat - only better- much better- like I'm gonna miss this when I leave London better. Kid loved the beef soup. Bread is really good. I wish they had different flavored Jams but the raspberry was good. Service is fantastic- very friendly even when the place was packed. Very clean. My favorite place so far in London. Will be back every day of our trip. Got to get my porridge while I can.

Yelp
One of my favorite place in london, their cakes are amazing and fresh, especially dulce, saffron and honey cake, so enjoyable, good vibe and nice interior, definitely worth going here everyday. Knight ridge branch is the best, the one in soho is a bit crowded, all in all, amazing cafe in London

Sam S.

Yelp
Tasty food and drinks, nice atmosphere, slightly small which could mean you have to wait for a table. Service is slow.
