Innovative Ideas From 2023 We Want to See Continue in 2024 - Eater Portland

"I want to see new buildings deliberately create space for food vendors, like the Moxy in Downtown Portland. Sun Rice and Let’s Roll operate out of small spaces like food carts that are connected to the hotel bar and lounge." - Eater Staff

Ordered to go…. It’s too hot to go outside in the high 80F. Thankful for to go order to be enjoyed in the cool hotel. But, it is what you paid for. It’s relatively inexpensive poke. It’s salty and it came with a thick layer of salty imitation crab meat topped with poke in soy sauce. Probably not again….

Ehhhhh. Big ass burritos which is nice since they're $16, but way too much imitation crab and sweet flavor. It's hard to taste the actual raw fish and imitation crab is just not good. Fun concept and quick service but I wouldn't get it again.

Let’s Roll has great poke bowl that mixes flavors very well. Each bite, no single ingredient is overpowering. It makes me appreciate how well their sauce accentuates the flavor without hiding it. The portions are perfect, and the ingredients are very fresh. All in all, it is a great experience I highly recommend. Text ahead for your order to be ready when you arrive!

Really good! I got to try it during an event at the hotel, and this place happened to be open. It's small and tucked away in the back, but it's absolutely worth it! They offer vegan/vegetarian options for both sushi and burritos. I tried the "Very Vegan" option to go, and it was amazing! It had a perfect ratio of rice, protein, and other ingredients. I would definitely come here again!

Had a salad (I think the Northwest? It had ginger guacamole). I ordered the jalapeno guac on the side as well. The salad was so fresh and flavorful. Sometimes with business travel you just crave vegetables and something that is not fried... this was perfect! The location is a cute boutique hotel that is very Portland. Lots of cool art for sale, photobooth, etc. I just got takeaway but could easily see myself enjoying a sit down there. The owner was friendly and the meal was *fast*.

Wow, I'm seriously impressed! Ordered blindly online (staying at the Moxy) and figured the portions would be the typical smaller portions. Nope, they were huge! Would have gotten 1/2 the fish for the same price back in Boston. Excellent food & value!

The food is fresh and tasty. I was hoping for a bigger burrito but what you do. It certainly has good flavor and the whole carts in a parking lot vibe is what people like the most. It's hard to decide where to eat, but it's worth it

To be fair we came here 30 minutes before closing, but wasn’t super into the poke bowl. The guacamole was seemingly store bought, I got a lot of cucumber skin, and no exciting ingredients. My boyfriend pulled a hair out of his. Overall just would much rather go somewhere else.

Yelp
Let's Roll PDX, which started as a food truck, has now transformed into a small, somewhat hidden shop inside the Moxy Hotel. I tried the Portland Poppers, Mochiko Chicken Plate, and the Spice Spice Baby Sushirrito. The Portland Poppers were absolutely delicious, especially when it just served hot. Looked a bit small but very flavorful. The Spice Spice Baby Sushirrito was a unique experience. It's essentially a large maki-style sushi roll made into a burrito. I was surprised by its size and found myself full after eating just half of it. I took the other half home, left it in the refrigerator, and enjoyed it later for dinner. The shrimp tempura inside the sushirito was a bit small and tuna and salmon were minced than diced, so it was hard to recognize the ingredients unlike other makis and didn't look like their sushirito pictures. But for real, it was tasty and fresh. Overall, the food at Let's Roll PDX was very flavorful, with fresh ingredients and a great variety of tastes. Ordering is easy with their screen system, and the food came out pretty fast. The Moxy Hotel lobby, where you can eat, is spacious and has a bar, offering plenty of seating options. Next time, I'm looking forward to trying their poke bowl.

Yelp
Quick and tasty lunch spot located inside the Moxy hotel. You order on a kiosk and get a text when the food is ready. The hotel has a great vibe with a full bar and lots of casual seating. We ordered the Poke Bowl with Ahi and the Spicy Bowl. The portions are great and the fish was fresh. We split two bowls between three of us and were completely satisfied. Definitely will be back to try other menu items!

Yelp
First time trying this poke spot. I had a craving for crispy rice and they were the only place that carried it, and was available for delivery. Really glad I tried it, I will definitely get it again the next time the craving strikes. I also tried the Beyond Excited! burrito, it was delicious and a great portion. The flavors on both were clean, fresh, and tasty; the spicy tuna on the crispy rice had a nice kick but was not overpowering, the veggies in the burrito added a nice crunch. Also extra points, in my book, for accommodating my allergy without sacrificing flavor!

Yelp
Located inside The Moxy Hotel, in Food Cart Alley. You order from kiosk in front of store and they call out your name when ready. Good size sushi burrito. Fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Came in from out of town and wanted a quick lunch. Got a delicious bowl here. Very reasonably priced at $15. Salmon was great quality and Tempura Shrimp was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and the guy working there was friendly. Easy and quick, too.
