Can't wait to get back to this place!
I seriously can't keep up with the number of new restaurants opening up in West Reading, It's not a bad problem to have.
First and foremost, Let's Taco Bout It is bold. How else would you describe a Mexican restaurant that schedules a February grand opening in Pennsylvania?
But more than that, the menu is bold. The ingredients are bold. The flavors are bold.
If you put "taco" in your name, you better serve up some unbelievable tacos. Fortunately, Let's Taco Bout It delivers, offering up a selection of no less than 10 variations.
When I visit a local place for the first time, I tend to go overboard with my order. I get as much as I can possibly eat in one sitting and then some, because I want to try as many things as possible. There was a place I went to a few months back where I ordered two sandwiches and a burrito. The cashier asked, "This isn't all for you, right?" I replied, "Hahaha of course not," as I shiftily looked around the room, laughing nervously.
So yeah, on my very first visit, I ordered two tacos, a quesadilla, and a luchador, which is a grilled 12-inch tortilla filled with cheese, meat, cilantro, onions, and avocado. The two tacos would have sufficed. The quesadilla pushed me close to my limit. Adding the luchador to the mix put me in a food coma that I didn't come out of until early evening.
Tacos are double-wrapped in warm tortillas. This adds much appreciated re-enforced infrastructure to each taco.
I think I'll pass on the luchadors in the future. The tortilla has a cornbread-like consistency, and it's just, you know, really heavy. The tortilla easily makes up more than half of the dish - think of this as a Mexican calzone, if you will.
TL:DR - This place uses fresh, local ingredients. It embraces the West Reading communal mindset. Taco aficionados will rejoice. Taco haters (if there is such a thing) will complain and write to their senators.
