Sunday staple at Paul Ecke Central, jointly supported by community groups with proceeds benefiting local programs. Praised by Axios San Diego for its vendor mix and easy parking, it’s a strong nearby option for Carlsbad shoppers.

I was pleasantly surprised at how great this market was. I always visit the vista Saturday market, but was looking for something on Sunday. I really liked that the majority of the market was on grass rather than hot pavement and that it has plenty of seating to take a rest and enjoy a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors. Live music was great and not too loud, just right! The only downside in my opinion was that parking can be really tough since the venue is at a school in a residential neighborhood. Streets are narrow especially with cars parked on them.

Google
Probably my favorite farmers market I’ve ever been to. Lots of parking nearby with only a short walk. Takes place at the cutest elementary school. Plenty of fresh produce, local artists, fresh delicious goodies like pasta and tea and almond butter, and plenty of food trucks. Great experience with a community feel.

Google
Great farmers market! So much variety of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, nuts, prepared food items, and non-food items. Plus, it's very spacious, making for a pleasant experience walking and shopping! Prepare to spend a bit of time parking, as it can get quite full.

Google
This farmers market is a decent size and has a good selection of vendors. There is cooked food, meat, plants, fruits and vegetables, and people selling other things such as clothing and pottery. It is actually on a grassy school playground. There is also a covered area with picnic tables perfect for sitting at and enjoying some food just purchased at the farmers market. There is a small amount of parking at the school, but most have to park on the street. Overall a good farmers market.

Google
Very pricey and posh, on my understanding a farmers market is where you can get local produce at an affordable price, Leucadia is unfortunately becoming Downtown Encinitas, where all the good food restaurants are being replaced by "Trendy joints" that are very worried about price vs offering quality.

Google
Big farmer in the future of the day meaning you can take it to the store. Produce is done with the work on my desk and then I can get them to the house. Parking is ready to start the best way home, but I'm not going to be there. Lovely and nice morning to the family.

Will Jones

Google
NOT mobility challenged friendly. There are very few disabled parking spots and if you’re not one of those few to snag one, you could wind up parking a mile away. Similarly, half the market is positioned on thick grass so good luck trying to get any sort of wheeled conveyance through the gauntlet.

Google
Love this place! Always somewhere new to try. Tief’s island cuisine has an insane beef rib you need to try.

Yelp
This is such a nice farmer's market in a bougie area with great food and vendors. Parking can be a little tough, but if you're okay with walking a bit, there's actually a lot of spots available along the road. My favorite stall is Rafiki's Foods. The spicy chicken, curry cabbage, black eyed peas, coconut rice, and collard greens are all so so amazing! And their hot sauce is super good too! We actually make the drive just to eat at this stand. There was also another popular stand selling frozen bananas that are sent through a masticating juicer to basically come out like ice cream. A bit pricy for what it is but it's a great dessert that can be made healthy. There's live music and also an indoor bathroom you can use (not just porta potties).

Yelp
was originally planning on making it to the encinitas street fair but by mistake ended up at this farmers market and we were not mad at all. it was fairly small, but still pretty busy especially by the food vendor area. you can find your usual farmers market essentials - produce, dairy, eggs but also other fun vendors i have not seen at other markets. i got myself some sugarcane juice and got too overstimulated to grab food. i imagine everything was delicious though seeing how people were lining up everywhere. there is also live music and you can sunbathe in the sun while eating or grab a covered seat at the tables. parking is tough but not too bad if you don't mind walking. you will find a spot depending how far you're willing to walk lol

Yelp
We were lucky enough to stumble across this Farmer's Market on 4/6. It was popping! Tons of vendors and shoppers. Excellent energy, love music, and lots of seating both on benches (shades) and on the grass. We tried a mango sticky rice from Mango on the Moon. Delicious!! Just the right level of sweetness, a nice cool snack for a sunny afternoon. We browsed the produce stands, thrifted clothing. Overall a great time. Highly recommend stopping by! Note: parking can be challenging since the school is within a residential neighborhood. We went near the tail end so was able to find street parking but there was a sign for a parking lot nearby.

Yelp
Such a fun Farmers Market. Everything looked so fresh and tasty. Lots of samples. I ended up buying the Dirt Food when I got home.
google avatar

Rhondie B.

Yelp
Great for fesh food but a lot smaller than I expected. I thought a lot more crafty vendors would be there. Parking was pretty bad but found spots along railway fence.

Yelp
Farmers market but no dogs allowed? What a dumb rule. If it werent for the banana icecream is give this place a 1 star.
google avatar

Roselia G.

Yelp
Such a great farmers market! Lots of great venders with food, clothing, jewelry, and health conscious items. I absolutely love the Kenya food tent. The Sambusa's are my favorite! It's definitely a must if you're passing through Encinitas on a Sunday early afternoon. Just keep in mind that they close at 2pm.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Roselia thank you so much for invited us to go to this farmers market! This is such a cute area and loved all the different foods and vendors they had here. I really enjoyed all the foods we got and drinks they had some awesome things here. Also got baby girl this handmade axolotl that is so cute. Terry K. Shared her delicious meal she got too and we all shared fries. What a beautiful farmers market really loved coming here! I hope to be back again. They had live music this young teenager boy was singing he did so good too. They had sugar cane drinks, and all sorts of delicious foods and treats here. The parking was a little rough but we found parking at the building behind us. Very cute place to go if you are ever in the area to go to a farmers market this would definitely be the place to go. I am happy with my freeze dried Bit O honey too lol :) thank you for everyone being so sweet here. The weather was perfect we had a table to sit down and eat too. What a lovely place. Highly recommend to check it out. Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

Yelp
Location is great with many vendors and food options. However, parking is really bad and it's always crowded. There are usually long lines at the popular vendors and there is no shade so it gets hot during summer.
google avatar

Madi S.

Yelp
This farmers market is amazing it's huge and has everything you could think of, from lunch spots to produce vendors, clothing vendors, or dog great vendors. We always buy salmon heads from the dog treat guy for our pit bull. Definitely go hungry or you'll be bummed you didn't! This is not dog friendly so be sure to leave your furry friends at home.

Yelp
How I miss California fresh produce! Every year when I visit my friend in Encinitas, we always come to this Farmers Market. They are open every Sunday from 10:00am - 2:00pm and they hold the market in the outside area of a local elementary school. There are so many booths offering delicious and fresh vegetables and fruits. Samples are always available. We always end up purchasing some fresh veggies so we can make a delicious dinner. In addition to the booths they offer a whole row of food and drink options from fresh smoothies to bold, flavorful coffee drinks. This time we decided to order crepes for the hike we were going on and they were so delicate and delicious. There are also fresh flowers to be picked up along with mushrooms and my favorite booth. This is a lovely woman who sells greeting cards but also air plants. I have purchased two air plants from her now and they are both thriving. Such a great locals spot to hit up when in the area. Enjoy!

Yelp
Delightful Sunday Farmer's Market with an abundance of great vendors. Veggies, fruit, all kinds of hot food to eat, plants, clothes and more!! You can spend hours there and spend lots of money or little money.

Yelp
Was in the neighborhood and went to a local fruit store that I visited last month. This month the prices had pretty much doubled so left to check out this Encinitas/Leucadia Farmer's market. Horrible parking as expected but a really fun place to visit. It was laid out like a maze. LOL Beautiful looking fruits and veggies. Also had a delicious Kenyan booth/stall to enjoy as well as a tea cup fresh coconut place. (forgot to take a picture). For sure will be going back to this place!

Yelp
"KAREN" AND "KEN" VENDOR OF THE FARMERS MARKET - small and selective - shoppers are predominately from Leucadia or Encinitas (mostly old.er people) - street parking While in line because they open the gate at exactly 10:00am on the damn dot, the organizer ALLOWED dog entrance. There was another dog in line before me. While IN the farmers market there was one service dog and a few other non-service dogs roaming around the market (respectfully). 1. Management changed roughly 5 months ago so rules may have changed. No dog rule before doesn't seem applicable - DOG OWNERS WERE WELCOMED IN!!!! 2. Farmers Marker is on school grounds but NOT school related so signs posted on school gates aren't necessarily for the Farmers Market (but of course we need to be respectful) 3. The area where there is grass and vendors serving cooked food has a sign posted "No Dogs". Respectfully we are following rules and buying fresh farm eggs and leaving - that's it, fresh eggs and leaving. Then KAREN and her husband KEN (a vendor) start making a scene "NO DOGS IN THE FARMERS MARKET". I replied saying "THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WITH DOGS AND THEY ALLOWED US TO COME IN. IF DOGS WEREN'T ALLOWED THEY SHOULD HAVE SAID AT THE ENTRANCE." And they continue to be the Karen and Ken they are... yapping away. So annoying they need to shut up. If they put this much energy in something this petty, how about they try putting that energy towards their booth because there isn't a single person at their booth shopping. F* YOU! I am doing my shopping very respectfully because we were welcomed in. Don't trying to push me out and isolate me when their are other dog owners with their dogs. You don't own the PUBLIC Farmers Market. Yes, their are rules but they were FOLLOWED TO OUR KNOWLEDGE. Quit trying to be the only Karen and Ken when it didn't bother a single person (in line, non of the organizers, and no other vendor) but yourselves. If you don't like it, leave! *clowns* I've been to every farmers market from Oceanside to Chula Vista and this is the only public farmers market that doesn't "allow dogs". School is NOT in session so the No Dog sign doesn't apply - especially when a farmers market organizer allows people with dogs inside. No harm in bringing dogs to the farmers market. There is a sign that applies to the farmers market - it's posted ON THE GRASS area and says "no dogs". Understandable and that can be respected.

Yelp
What a great farmers market here in Encinitas! They have everything here from clothing, specialty dog treats, organic veggies, flowers, cheeses, unique food booths and usually live music. As a new resident of Encinitas I've been twice! I bought my dogs the dog treats, had a crepe and an agua Fresca. I left satisfied and I'll def go back again and again. Market is on Sundays!

Yelp
This review is for the fresh seafood vendor "Fish Addiction." First time purchasing fresh fish at an outdoor market. We purchased Red Snapper on a cool April morning. Option was for either fresh or frozen. We took fresh. Vendor bagged in ice for us. We were stunned upon opening and grilling it up at home. The freshest most delicious Red Snapper we've enjoyed anywhere, prepared in our own kitchen! Very reasonable pricing.

Yelp
Nice medium sized farmers market. Its laid out in an oval shape and one side was dominated by a huge variety of food vendors. It had a good balance of farmers to food vendors / artists. Since its our first farmers market in the area, we don't have a great frame of reference for prices, but they seemed in line. Parking looks to be rough. We got lucky and did not have to wait, but lots of cars circling around and neighbors that lets just say are less than enthusiastic about your presence
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
We were honestly really surprised at how nice this farmers market was. There were quite a few tents and different things. I got a crepe and my boyfriend got a burrito. Both of our items did not taste amazing, so if we return we'd order different things for sure. We also tried taro mochi muffins which were delicious and some macarons which also were delicious. Parking seemed hard at first but if you keep driving there's plenty of parking on a dirt street that you have to drive over the curb for. You'll see a bunch of other cars parked there. It's located inside a school. Just follow the crowd of people or you can ask someone like we did. Nice vibes to hang out. Definitely family friendly

Yelp
Wow, wow. If you are info food, this is the Farmer's Market to go to. So many fantastic food stands here. YUM. I brought my pup and so did many others, I had some rude lady say something like i needed her opinion. But beautiful flowers and fruits and vegetables from all over the place. So many neat things to see and taste. On the school grounds so plenty of space, tables to eat at and grass.
google avatar

Jesse S.

Yelp
Nice hipster vibe. Good place to grab a drink or quick bite. I few nice sit and eat restaurants nearby.
google avatar

Addy W.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I have been to this farmer's market. I forgot how crazy it was to try to find parking. They do have a lot a good vendors, but I was disappointed that a few of the ones I use to go to weren't there anymore. Overall, still a nice change from the grocery stores to get your veggies and fruit from. Plus have a variety a little eateries to choose from too.

Yelp
one of the nicest farmer's markets around. Picked up some Rainer cherries and first apricots of the year this week. yum the elementary school location has a a nice lawn and amazing shaded tables to sit on and enjoy a snack or breakfast, lunch, etc. Parking is a nightmare, so ride your bike or skateboard or something. Good food, plant, meant, produce vendors. It is one of the County Department of Agriculture's certified farmer's markets, you have have that extra assurance, that the folks there actually grew their produce, and the organics are actually organic. Only downside is the costs. prices seem "fixed" and not as dynamic as you would expect. eVeryone has the same thing at exactly the same price, and its 2x the cost of the same at Vons/Kroger/Costco. Why is that? for better value, head to the Linda vista farmers market, especially at the end of the eve, and be brave to haggle! its a little sketchy listening to some of the vendors make their product claims about the healing properties of this and that. Sad, stupid and shortsighted that dogs are forbidden. (Wake up California. calling dog owners to organize and change the laws).. I Europe, dogs are welcome at all the finest restaurants, metro's and yet civilization thrives. we don't go terribly often, mainly due to the high prices, but its a fun expensive lark.

Yelp
Many eatery choices like Indian, Kenyan, Mexican, America - especially woodfired Pizza! All tasty lookin comfort grub! Eats for sweet tooth's, like Cinnamon rolls, chocolates and cakes! Double yum yum! Breads, olive oil's, hummus and honey! Local meat and eggs! Pantry and frig staples! Herbal teas, Kombucha, coffee and lemonade! Thirst quenchers! Certified organic produce! Or pesticide free! And other? Veggies! Popcorn, tortilla chips and pita chips! Munchies! Organic cheese made from Jersey cows! Gimme that cheese please! Surfboards, T-shirts, hats, crafts and jewelry! That's about it! Drive in circles, park and walk. Busy! Good December day crowd! Always, we seek out farm markets when traveling, mainly to buy farm fresh, organic and sustainable produce and proteins! Compared with farm markets throughout the west and Canada to Mexico, a little more produce for me would take it up a notch. A few more farmstands! But hey, I am thankful for the farmers here producing in the winter. Perhaps, this place come spring and summer, when more farmers are in prime harvest time, put a little more pop in this market stop!
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite farmers market in the north county area - freshes veggies and options to fill your house and very reasonably priced
google avatar

Imee C.

Yelp
I was just mesmerized by the beautiful, vibrant colors of their fruits and vegetables. There were so many to select from. They had a lot of vegan and organic things being sold. Definitely a go to on a beautiful Encinitas day.

Avery M.

Yelp
I work here so I love it! Come here if you want he best food and fruit or even produce

Loving San D.

Yelp
We've been to many farmers markets around San Diego and this is one of the best. Many local vendors and it helps raise money for a great local school. Keep up the great work!

Yelp
I do like visiting Farmer's Markets. They are just fun, meeting new artisans and farmers with their commonplace and unique items, not to mention all the delicious food vendors. This market was no different and offered a good number of organic produce farmer and specialty artisans, like bread, cheese, sausage making, and fish mongers. There are a couple of nurseries also selling succulents, palms, and a variety of other plants. I picked up some baguettes from Pager's, some beautiful strawberries, some coffee from Caffè Espresso, and some Arepas from a fine Venezuelan vendor. I like that they keep all the food vendors on the same area right next to the school lunch benches from the local school the market resides on. You have to wait until exactly 10 am for them to open the gates for this market. There's a small parking lot in front so most parking will be on the street in the surrounding neighborhood.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Really good quality farmer's market, this review is for management. Came in with my service dog, there were zero visible signs indicating dogs in general were not allowed let alone service dogs. "Manager" runs up to me and super rudely informs me of this. This is a great weekly community event, it's a shame the management has zero manners and tolerance for individuals with disabilities. Truly disturbed by the experience and hope that this issue is addressed.
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
I love this one! It's the best market around! It's the perfect size and offers a super chill North County vibe. There are lots of vegan options as well.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Love everything about our local farmers market! Food and people amazing. Great outdoor seating area to cater to all the food stands. So yummy!! If you are vegan or vegetarian this is your market.
google avatar

Yelp
Rafikizfoodz is the best vendor... Kenyan food that is absokutedelicious with huge portions!

Yelp
I love coming to this Farmers market every Sunday. Fresh vegetables. Lots of great food. Try the coconut peanut butter. It's amazing. The ceviche is a favorite. You will know what I'm talking about when you get there. Kids have a good time too. Please leave your fur babies home. They don't allow dogs. I see them tied to the fence all the time. Be kind to your animals..

Yelp
This farmer's market is in an elementary school, and right upon entering there was a bookcase with free books! Parking wasn't hard to find either. This is an amazing farmer's market full of fresh veggies, dips, drinks, and food. I got a delicious order of Kenyan food with coconut rice, collars greens, and black eyed peas. They gave free samples of the food as well. There was a delicious quinoa bowl with kale salad on top in homemade vinaigrette. I tried a vegetable I've never tried before or seen. There was an amazing ginger and lemon carbonated drink that tasted so fresh and amazing. Baba foods dips comes here. Bitchin sauce (a dip made of almonds). There were probably 3-4 rows of booths and everyone was super friendly. A spice lady had salt she flavors herself which was pretty decently priced and delicious. I'd come back for sure if I lived nearby.

Yelp
Come hungry to The Leucadia Farmers Market.  You can sample your way around to fullness for free or order something wonderful from one of the many food-truck style vendors around.   There are always new vendors popping up so it never gets old here. They also sell wonderful produce, bakery items, succulents, clothing, oils, candles, even worms for your gardens. You might tell me that there are better Farmers Market in the area.  The Carlsbad one is bigger.  There's one in Oceanside I should probably see.  All true, but you would get a great big "Nope" from me.  This is MY Farmers Market.  Not since I went to school in Davis have I found a better one.  (That one still RULES!)  This is where I run into my neighbors, my gym friends, my kids' teachers.  I get an ocean breeze while I enjoy my walk over.  It feels so good to be out in my community, supporting the local farmers and businesses.  Even if it means paying a bit more, I'm ok with that. Yelp
What a lovely market-- with all the things: produce, clothing, locally made goods/jewelry/food items. It's quite bigger than I thought. All of the vendors are friendly. There's an awesome plant guy-- with the best deals. I bet you won't leave here empty handed.

Promise Y.

Yelp
Local farm fresh fruit and veggies. Farmers on site to talk about their produce. Great ready made food.

Morgan K.

Yelp
No dogs allowed?... What a terrible idea for a farmers market. Find a more accepting place to get your produce.

Mary Ella H.

Yelp
I LOVE this farmers market. It is a weekly tradition for me and my family. The vibes are seriously amazing and there is so much fresh produce. I would definitely check out Thai DD for the most delicious pad see ew, Kombucha Cares for really yummy kombucha on tap, House of Bao for delicious bao buns and dumplings, and Superfood and Company for amazing kefir soda!! Also, Miho of Miho's Jewelry makes the most beautiful rings, necklaces, and earrings. Anytime I have a birthday to shop for, I go to her stand!

Yelp
Sunday is Fun day in Leucadia. I look forward to my weekly trip our fabulous farmers market. This market is like a local street faire every week. Families with little children eat from a huge assortment of food vendors and dance to live music. The diversity of prepared food is amazing. They serve everything from raw organic gourmet foods, Indian, African, seafood, crepes, salads, barbecue and many many others. Musicians sing and play while children dance and parents enjoy the covered picnic tables and chat with friends. There are vendors of crafty foods, soaps, salts, plants, home made cheeses, gourmet Greek olives, specialty sauces and juices. The hero of the event is fresh, local produce. Farmers bring organic purple potatoes, Kale, heirloom tomatoes, squash blossoms, passion fruit, cherimoya, squash, leafy greens and much much more. My favorite is possibly the mushroom guy, he is super friendly and has fantastic product. I usually get a basket with three varieties of mushrooms each week. Eating produce at peak season is easy when you shop locally and buy the bountiful harvest. Just look at which products are being showcased or talk to the friendly vendors who will give you tips on how to prepare their products. Leucadia's farmers market has a convenient location near the beach, a friendly crowd of both patrons and vendors and a great time on Sunday morning so you can be prepared for the week with healthy treats.

S F.

Yelp
Wide variety of everything, but never get fruit n veggies from the first booth, way overpriced. I bought some handmade wooden hair clips that are beautiful.

Dara S.

Yelp
This review is for Rafikiz foods as they don't have they're own page on yelp. Very good and flavorful food. The #1 includes all the veggie sides and two meats. I got beef stew and spicy chicken. The chicken wasn't spicy at all but very good.

Yelp
Sundays from 10 am - 2 pm Parking does get a little rough for the farmer's market on Sundays. I got there at 10:15 am yesterday, and people were already circling the school parking lot. If you don't mind a short walk, just keep driving down the residential street and you'll find parking eventually. I've never had to drive around for more than 5-10 min before I find parking. I love farmer markets! There's plenty of booths to look at. The market is set up that the 1st row, closest to the picnic benches are food booths, Thai, crepes, etc you order and they serve it up hot and fresh for you. The second row is filled with produce. Pretty good selection. This isn't the biggest farmers market out there, but it's a good size. I got some good deals yesterday on grapefruit, cauliflower, celery, and broccoli. I definitely recommend this market for a good Sunday morning stroll.

Yelp
So many vegan food vendors now! This is a great place to buy something healthy after buying your produce and other goods.
google avatar

Linda V.

Yelp
Lots of fresh produce, spices, fruits/nuts and a few artist vendors. Enjoyed talking to vendors... see their produce and the things they've made. Bought sprouted superfood seed salt with black truffles...love it! Lucky Vanessa and Jessica get a bottle, too (who needs some T-shirt anyway!).

Bonnie E.

Yelp
Great location, easy parking, large selection of fruit and veggies, good eats.
google avatar

Vienna Q.

Yelp
Definitely better then vegas' lol, all are bigger and more variety. Love learning and trying out new companies, foods and products. The different farmers and what they have to offer, made love to them and all the work they put into the food that they provide for people to purchase. Thanks

Yelp
I love this location! What a charming elementary school. Mosaic murals, gardens and I love that because of its location, there are plenty of places to sit down and eat. No fighting for a picnic tables. Parking was in the neighborhood (sorry local residents!). Vendors varied a lot from prepared food to flowers, to fruit (usual and usual... found a white sapote!) and veggies. Most of the booths here were super friendly but beware, there is the occasional assertive hustle. I really liked that there were vendors here that I hadn't experienced at the Vista location. Check it out!

Katrina C.

Yelp
Love this place. Great fruits and veggies. The guacamole is the best!! Strawberries were so good!
