During Bethesda's Restaurant Week, I enjoyed the bakery's cookie special: any 3 cookies for $10. I bought a chocolate chip walnut, an oatmeal raisin and a two chip chocolate chip. The cookies are scrumptious but huge. Each of them weighed between 6 and 7 ounces, so nearly a half pound a piece. Clearly each cookie should be shared among multiple folks. The cookies cooled off completely by the time I reached home so I reheated for 15 seconds in the microwave. This was just enough to get the chocolate chips to start to melt, which made for a truly delicious mess.

It's a beautiful bakery with lots of baked goods to choose from. I was craving a chocolate chip cookie. This cookie was thick, dense, and cakey, and the center was soft like and crumbly. The flavor was intense chocolate from the chocolate chip but was lacking the buttery richness that I prefer in a cookie. The price is at $5.50 per cookie. If you prefer thinner, chewy, butter rich cookies, this isn't it.

Perfection. This is the bakery you’re looking for. The cookies are huge—soft, flavorful, and warm every time. I’ve only been to this bakery a few times and each time has been consistent in quality and service. They are usually in stock of their full menu but early in the day to get their freshest batch of cookies and banana bread!

I stopped into this bakery on insistence of my friends who lived local to the area. Like most people, I have eaten a ton of cookies in my life- big, little, thin, chunky. The storefront was very cute and I loved the downtown vibe. It wasn’t super busy when we went so our orders got taken pretty quickly. I will say the cookie was a bit on the pricey side (around $5ish) but it’s a small, local bakery so I let it slide. I ordered the chocolate chip and oh my god. This was one of the best cookies I’ve ever bought from a bakery in my entire life. The cookie was MASSIVE. They are on the sweet side so I could not finish mine in 1 sitting. In fact, it looks me several days to finish mine. One because it was so large and two because I was savoring it since we didn’t go back to this area later. I don’t know what they put in their recipe but it was like crack and I loved every bite.

This place is fun! ( If you like cookies) all kinds of cookies. Yes they are pricey but the cookies are think and yummy. This company is generous on their chips. Here are some pictures to help with the visual.

We went on a national holiday and was surprised This location was not busy at all. located in the heart of Bethesda downtown area, convenient parking garage right across the street. Service: efficient but not very friendly, no smile :-( Food: the cookies are gigantic, and delicious, but too sweet for me, however hubby and rest of the family loves it. Price: not cheap at all, on the pricy side, but given the size of these cookies come in, I will say is not too bad. Inside the shop: a quite spacious place, looks clean Do recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Beautiful small place, very tasty pastries. Good service, fast enough. Though a log queue. Shows they are popular.

May 2023 I've ordered cookies from them a few times, and I have to say that they are pretty good cookies! Note these are big, lumpy cookies that weigh about 5.8oz each (yes, I weighed them with a kitchen scale). These cookies are expensive ($5 each), but honestly, the price makes sense when going by weight. They are also generous with the toppings. The outside of the cookies are a little crisp (dry) and the insides are thick, chewy, and doughy. I recommend eating them by pieces (as opposed to chomping on them) and having some kind of liquid nearby to help wash them down. They also taste good warm, though they fall apart easily that way. I personally love the chocolate walnut cookies, but that's mainly because I like having a little crunch in my cookies 😁. The store itself is small, clean, and brightly lit. There's a counter in the back with the standard cafe items as well as free water (and cups). There's some tables outside, but none inside. The staff were quick to greet me and were friendly.

Yelp
Fresh-baked, a wonderful aroma throughout, just plain yummy. The muffins--WHOA! Adamu offered great pointers--he is an excellent baker, in an excellent bakery. it's a treat.

Yelp
I first tried Levain Bakery in NY. They're huge, with a crispy outside and soft center. Not the underbaked kind, just right. My favorite is the Oatmeal Raisin. I've also been to the Georgetown and Bethesda locations. While the cookies are still good, there's something about the NY ones that makes them taste a little better. Recently, I tried the Coffee Toffee cookie. The first bite has a nice coffee flavor, followed by the crunch of toffee bits. It's not too sweet, and I can imagine pairing it with hot chocolate. The staff has always been pleasant and welcoming during my visits, which is always appreciated.

Yelp
Every time I visit this location, the employees working offer me fast, friendly and efficient service. There is always an ample variety of baked goods to choose from - even late into the evening. My favorite cookie here is the chocolate chip with walnuts, followed by the double chocolate cookie. I have yet to try their other options - bread and scones. The hot chocolate here takes a few minutes - but is well worth the wait! The price point on items is on the higher end, but considering how big the cookies are, it's not too bad. These cookies are great to give as gifts for birthdays or Thank You's!

Yelp
I literally STOPPED IN MY TRACKS when I saw there was a Levain in Bethesda because these are my FAVORITE cookies and I only thought they were available in NYC. This location has a prime space, and although small, it serves the purpose it needs to .... get the delicious cookies and exit and eat them! Ordering was a breeze as there were two wonderful employees at the counter who were extremely pleasant and I was in and one in minutes. The cookies ... I mean they are some of the BEST! I ordered 2 of the double chocolate chocolate chip and 1 caramel coconut chocolate chip. I literally ate a piece in the car and once home divided the cookies up and froze 3/4 of them (as the Levain directions recommend) as I knew I couldn't and didn't need to eat all of them in a week .... that is also just how large the cookies are. Do you see a favor, go try the cookies and don't worry about the $5 price tag per cookie because they're worth every cent!

Yelp
Cookie Monster strikes again. Cookies are my favorite dessert and I've been to the Levain in NYC and was happy to find one near me on my visit to Maryland. I stopped by this shop and was immediately overwhelmed with the buttery, sweet cookie aroma. The slightly crispy outer shell houses a soft warm gooey interior. These cookies are HUGE and a meal in itself. I got the chocolate chip walnut to go, warmed it up in the microwave, and devoured the gooey and delicious cookie. It left me in a happy cookie coma...& satisfied my craving for now!

Yelp
A friend brought cookies from here to our house I was really impressed. The oatmeal raisin cookies were huge and much taller and thicker than your average cookie. They're a tasty moist cookie with lots of raisins and they're almost the size of a scone. They're unique and really enjoyable and I'd stop here if I was in the area.

Yelp
After visiting a local kid museum in downtown Bethesda, I felt like I needed a special treat for making it through a summer afternoon with the kids. Off to Yelp for recommendations. To my surprise, the New York-famed Levain Bakery opened a location within 5 minutes of the museum. We had to do. I'd been following them on Instagram for years, drooling over the cakey cookies with epic chocolate chip pull. I was not disappointed. There was no line and we were met with a friendly face. They had a few cookie flavors available which made it easy to pick and go. I opted for their classic two chip chocolate chip, a double chocolate chip, and chocolate chip and peanut butter and a chocolate walnut - their OG - for a friend. The cookies remained warm hours after we left. Warning - this is a milk-required cookie. Do not attempt to bite without a beverage. It's a heavy cookie that resembles a scone until you bite into it. There's nothing dry about this cookie. Every piece of the cookie touches your teeth and roof of your mouth with each bite. It's almost too much at once, but you can't stop eating it. Each bite is jam-packed with rich, semi-sweet chocolate, and as much as your brain tells you to stop taking bites, you can't. It's so rich, it took me hours to finish, as I kept wrapping it up, unwrapping to take a bite, walking away, and repeating. It's not an every day or every week cookie. It's a special treat! So worth it!

Melissa B.

Yelp
Some of my favorite chocolate chip cookies from nyc and was super excited when they opened one in Bethesda! Their chocolate chip cookie is a classic and I tried the gluten free option as well but I'm sad to report it was terrible. Very dry and a bit bland. Would recommend trying elsewhere if you're looking for gf options but the classics are still incredible here. They come out hot and gooey in the center :)

Yelp
All I can say is that these are the best cookies I have ever put in my mouth.....and I mean EVER!!! We had received Levain cookies as a gift in the mail but this was the first time that I was able to get a fresh baked one and oh my goodness!!! So GOOD! The cookies are big and they have the right amount of crispness on the outside and soft inside. My favorite is the oatmeal raisin. Unfortunately no pixs of the cookies we got because they were devoured before we made it back to the car. The folks working in the store were really nice. Next time we are in the area we will get a double order so at least one cookie will make it home.

Nneka M.

Yelp
I have had the baked goods and everything is quality.. I ordered some of their 2 chip chocolate chips cookies as a good bye gift for one of my dear colleagues, who specifically asked for them..and she loved them!! And they're good! warm, soft, gooey..everything that hopes and dreams are made of :) highly recommend!!

Arista W.

Yelp
These mouthwatering cookies are so yummy. A crisp outer shell that holds up to some heat with an inner core that's soft and chewy. I got the chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and warmed it up in the microwave and OMG!!! There were enough nuts and chocolate chips for every bite. I'm sad that I didn't get more than one! I'll be back tho. Cute little shop tucked in Bethesda. Please be advised they do not take cash.

Yelp
Definitely a fan! Ever since I first discovered this bakery years ago in NYC, l've been hooked. And,....As much as I love Chocolate Chip Cookies, their Oatmeal Raisin does it for me. Hot, moist & filled with warm raisins everywhere!! I've ordered cookies from them a few times, and I have to say that they are pretty darn good cookies! Word to the Cookie Lovers out there!.....these are big, lumpy cookies that "phat", hefty and weigh over a quarter of a pound!! Ask me how I know.... I weigh them at home on my food scale. Lol! Also, please note, these cookies are pricey at $5 bucks each, but honestly, the quality and heavenly baked goodness that all up in them....makes them all worth it. The outside of the cookies are a little crisp (dry) and the insides are thick, moist and chewy just like I like it. I recommend getting them warmed or warming them before eating....the gooey-ness of the cookie and the melted chocolate chips are insatiable. eating them by pieces (as opposed to chomping on them) and having some kind of liquid nearby to help wash them. I personally love the Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie and the Double Chocolate Cookie is absolutely second best!!.... mainly because I like having a little dark chocolate bitterness and crunch in my cookies! :-) The store itself is small, clean, and brightly lit. There's a counter in the back with the standard cafe items as well as free water (and cups). There's some tables outside, but none inside. The staff were quick to greet me and were friendly.

Vineela G.

Yelp
Ambiance: It's a very cute cafe-bakery. They were very warm and welcoming. Food: I had their famous chocolate chip walnut cookie, it was Soo gooey and the edges were crunchy. It felt like the perfect cookie.Love the fact that they offer milk to go with the cookies. I felt the cookie was a tad sweet for my liking, but it's just me Parking: It's best to park in the public parking garage across the street. One must be extremely lucky to a street parking spot.

Sandra P.

Yelp
I stopped by to get something to drink and snack. I tried the lemon cookie and two chip chocolate chip cookie. Both were excellent! The service was super fast and shop inside has a cute mural.

A S.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest, I haven't even tried the cookie I got yet But my mom and I came to Maryland for just a few days and my mom wanted honey. I went around some cafes asking for one use honey because we didn't want to buy a full honey jar and waste it. This was the third coffee I came to asking for some honey packets, and the two workers who were there were sooo nice. Especially the lady! I wish I could bottle her energy,it put such a smile on my face. I got the caramel coconut cookie btw. Which is two of my fav mix ins

Yelp
Thursday 10/12/23 I had a great experience with my first visit. The baked goods (cookies & brioche bread) were delicious and the service was excellent for giving me a free item. This time around I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, dark chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon butter brioche bread, and a blueberry muffin for pick up and I feel like that wasn't the best choice because the items didn't taste as fresh and as warm as the first time I had it. The chocolate chip cookie and dark chocolate ship cookie were very good. The cinnamon brioche bread was dry and didn't taste fresh at all but I would get it again if it was freshly made. The blueberry muffin was a new item that I got and it was very underwhelming and I definitely wouldn't get it again. All in all, I still like levain bakery I just gotta make sure I get the items in store rather than for pick up so they are the freshest and tastiest they can possibly be. Personally the cookies are still good and right behind Crumbl for the best cookie I've had.

Allysha O.

Yelp
Levain is a very famous bakery that is known for their cookies. I tried their double chip, walnut and fall spice and I was honestly a little disappointed. The cookies were so hard and cold, while the center was a little bit goopey. Taste wise, I was disappointed and I do not think I would come back. However, the interior was decorated very cutely with minimal seating and they give free postcards!

Yuki N.

Yelp
I often see people lining up in front of Levain on weekends, so I tried this place on non-busy weekdays. The blue and white-themed shop was cute and simple. Although there was no table to sit and eat, you could easily find a space to eat outside. The oatmeal raisin cookie was pretty big, so it looked like a scone. Compared to thin chewy cookies, Levain's one was more soft, crumbly, and buttery rich with a decent amount of raisins. Unfortunately, this cookie was baked unevenly, leaving the underbaked dough inside. Another raspberry bomboloncini was a baked doughnut filled with jam and a great match with slightly sweet bread. There are other items I'd like to try, like Lemon Cake and Brioche, so I'll be back again soon.

Cheryl T.

Yelp
The weather was lovely and there was a line which moved quickly. First time I was ever given the wrong cookie. Ordered my usual Choco chip walnut and asked the person serving me their thoughts about the lemon cookie. They gave me a lemon cookie instead. Fortunately I was near and took it back and they gave me what I ordered.

Sara L.

Yelp
I immediately started salivating as soon as I walked in the front door. The smell hit me and I wanted one of everything but I stuck to two cookies - chocolate chip walnut and chocolate peanut butter chip. They both came out fast, warm and gooey. The Choco walnut cookie was under baked but I feel like that's part of the appeal. The lemon water they have was much appreciated after downing some cookie. I didn't love that the paper cups are all out - a little kid's hands were all over all of them, knocking them over. A cup dispenser would probably be better. Back to the cookies - they're rich but I could've easily eaten both by myself if I wasn't forced to share with my husband. Yum!

Melody Y.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and I love it! I love how warm the cookie comes and when you break it apart, you can see all of the melted chocolate chips. It's also sweet but not overly sweet compared to other cookies I've had. My favorite flavors are the chocolate chip walnut and the caramel coconut chocolate chip. The coconut isn't over powering. I'm not sure if I tasted much caramel but it was really good! I also appreciate the little water cups that they provide for self service!

Craig U.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from here and the order was cancelled. No communication, just cancelled. Gotta think...lots of competition around. Bad look. Will not return

Alice L.

Yelp
Finally got to try their lemon cookie- I meant to have half so I can eat the next day but too difficult- I ate it all - it was the perfect soft with crispy edge and huge portion- it is pricey but large- service was fine and quick ! Place is small but accommodates enough to have short wait inside - ate walking outside though since there is no space to eat inside

Yelp
Levain Bakery is a popular NYC-based bakery known for their cookies. I was happy to learn that they were opening locations in the DMV area. While in Bethesda Row, I knew I had to stop by and try a cookie or two. Ordering was pretty seamless. I ordered two chocolate chip walnut cookies and a dark chocolate peanut butter cookie. As soon as I got to the car, I had to give one a try. These cookies are thiiiiiiccckk. The chocolate chips were nice and melty. The only thing I was missing was an ice cold glass of milk, which I was sure to grab when I ate the rest at home. If you don't eat the cookies immediately, I recommend zapping them in the microwave for a few seconds. This way, the chocolate chips will have that nice melt to them. Yum! Levain Bakery definitely provides some great treats. Next time, I'd like to try some of their other baked goods but those cookies have me in a chokehold.

Stanley U.

Yelp
One of the best cookies I've had in my life. Just came down to visit my family and they said I had to come down and try this. The second I walked into the shop I was hit with a strong cookie aroma. The store was in the side of a shopping strip and there were lots of people waiting in line. Very good location and you must get the double chocolate chip cookie. Fudgy goodness!

Steve Y.

Yelp
Levain's cookies are so scrumptious! Today, I ate the chocolate Chip walnut cookie. Couldn't eat the whole thing in one sitting because it is thick and rich. I'm in heaven!

Sylvie C.

Yelp
I stepped inside and couldn't just leave without buying several pastries this afternoon. Everything smelled so heavenly. I had just gotten my hair done and visiting Levain really made the day even better. The store offers both pastry items as well as beverages. The cookies are $5 each but ginormous. Same with all the other items. I particularly relished eating the raspberry filled brioche. Omg so chewy and fluffy and plain old heavenly. The service was also prompt and friendly. I had zero complaints on what little time I had to wait. Loved it. I know for sure I'll be back really frequently from now on! That's for sure!!

Raghuram R.

Yelp
Love this store and the people that are working there are super nice! My favorites are the dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate walnut chip cookie!

Ken K.

Yelp
Love levain, but please do something about the flies. Saw a huge housefly in the display ok my visit there. I know that it's summer but these are ready to eat treats and should be covered.

Christina Y.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try cookies from a Levain and am so glad they added a location closer to home! Originally I saw their ads on Instagram and was sad I would have to go all the way to New York before. From stepping in, I was immediately greeted and the employees were very patient while I browsed the menu. I ended up getting a bunch of chocolate chip cookies for myself and a friend's birthday I was attending after. She loved them! Every single bite had a lot of chocolate chips which is what I wanted. I'm also a huge fan of walnuts in pastries like cookies and brownies so another huge plus! Parking is not that difficult in the garage and you just walk right over to the bakery. It's so easy to see too because the outside of the building is all a bold blue color.

Nneka W.

Yelp
I'm glad Levain isn't super close to my house, otherwise I would be there every day! Their cookies are so good! I little crunch on the outside and soft on the inside, perfection! The Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Walnut are all amazing. They are a good size so one was enough but it's so tempting to eat more than that. The space is small and there is no seating. So it's pretty much an in and out situation. I have not had to wait in any long lines but when people in the area start to figure out how good the cookies are I wouldn't be surprised if there ended up being lines. Next time I will definitely be giving a few other pastries a try. Levain Bakery is a MUST!

Monica K.

Yelp
I was very excited to try Levain Bakery as I've heard great things. Of course for my first visit I had to try a cookie! I landed in the two chip chocolate chip. The cookies are huge! They have a crispy outside with a soft, warm, and fluffy inside. Perfect for both those who love soft cookies and those who like more crisp cookies. The flavor is incredible! It's not too sweet, but definitely rich. This isn't a cookie you can devour in one sitting. You will likely need to take a break and split it into multiple servings. I would also highly recommend having a drink on hand. The cookies are $5 each, so a bit pricey, but also, since they can last more than one sitting, totally worth it! Service was friendly and fast as well. Can't wait to go back and try more items! I have my eye on the coffee cake bread and the cinnamon brioche!

Lisa G.

Yelp
I came here on a recommendation from a friend and got the chocolate chip walnut, two chip chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. These cookies are $4.50 each and about twice to three times the size of a standard cookie. They're good. I liked the chocolate chip walnut better than the oatmeal raisin. Parking was easy on an early Sunday morning. Staff was nice.

Joy B.

Yelp
Before there was a Cookie Monster on television, I was the original crazy Cookie Monster. No, I am not blue, unless someone takes my cookie. One of my favorite memories is baking cookies with my granddaughters. I was so excited when I heard that Levain Bakery was opening in Bethesda. Last night, I got the opportunity to try these cookies. They are huge, about the size of a fist. They are soft, delicious, and packed full of chocolate chips. I was in cookie heaven. I ordered a double chocolate chip and an oatmeal and raisin cookie. They are worthy of the hype. The bakery is cozy and efficient. Even, though there was a line, it moved quickly. The toughest decision was which cookies to buy. The people who work there are very nice. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Then, home to savor my delicious, tender treats. So, for the Cookie Monster in all of us, thank you Levain Bakery for making my cookie dreams come true.

Dontae G.

Yelp
So I want to speak on the beautiful customer service that this place gives. You feel so warm and welcome in this bakery. I could also speak on coming for my favorite chocolate chip walnut that was warm from the oven!! But I'll let you all find out about the wonder place this one is on your own!! No picture just greatness in the experience!

Sophia K.

Yelp
There's nothing like a warm Levain cookie on a cold windy day. The chocolate chip cookies here are UNMATCHED. The hot chocolate is also so delicious. I'm looking forward to trying out different things as well. The servers are very kind and helpful.

Alexis H.

Yelp
I normally go to the Georgetown location because Levain Bakery is amazing, but yesterday I decided to check out the Bethesda location. My hope was that I would be able to find quick parking and that I wouldn't have to stand in line outside for at least 15 minutes like you always have to in Georgetown. I'm happy to say that I was able to find parking very easily and I didn't have to wait outside at all. The Bethesda location allows 8 people in the store at a time and there were two couples ahead of me. Yay! Now, for the actual cookie. I am so disappointed. As I stated earlier, I go to the Georgetown location frequently and I always order the double chocolate chip. I did the same here - two double chocolate chip cookies please. I didn't open my bag until I got home and I was shocked to realize they were hard as biscoff!!! I don't know what happened but it's like this batch was cooked at too high a temperature. They break straight down the middle like biscoff although the insides still are a touch doughy. I tried warming my first cookie in the oven briefly to see if it would help and it did slightly but it still didn't get rid of the slightly burnt taste. Pictured is my second cookie which I won't be eating because it's really not a pleasurable experience eating such hard cookies. Everyone has an off day from time to time but I would have preferred for the cashier to tell me that I needed to wait for another batch of cookies to bake than to sell me two very hard cookies.

Jon F.

Yelp
The line was out the door. Definitely a smaller space than the Georgetown location. The way the setup is makes it awkward for people to enter. You come in and the cashier is on the right, not straight ahead which would make more sense. We ordered one gluten-free walnut chocolate chip cookie. The cashier was a bit cold. She did not seem like she was happy to be there. The cookie was almost $7. Crazy. It was my first time tasting it. Way more sweet than I remembered. And it definitely tasted grainy I guess because it was gluten-free. But I have definitely had gf cookies that didn't taste grainy. I think they have yet to perfect it. Still needs work in my opinion. Still a good choice to have in the area.

Candice C.

Yelp
Racist and incompetent employees. Just tried to buy some cookies and instead was rudely corrected and cutoff, accused of not listening to them. Then after all that they gave us the wrong order and were mad that we came back to correct the order. Rude and terrible customer service. I can't help but wonder if I was blond with blue eyes instead of Asian, if we would have been treated that way. Absolutely never going back.

Bella J.

Yelp
They make the most delicious chocolate and walnut cookie in the world. It is so good, I even dream about it :) Only drawback is, I recently learned that it is whopping 600 calories per cookie! But.. it is so worth it. So if you were a goodie and deserve a reward, this is it. Too bad it so high in fat and calories, I cannot eat it everyday, cause I know I would have been the happiest person if i did. Their bread is good and the blueberry muffin is very popular in our household as well. I also love their packaging and service has always been welcoming.

Yelp
Levain has been on my list for sometime now but since I no longer live in Maryland, it's been hard to actually stop by and check them out. Fortunately, I was in the area doing a pick up from Lululemon when I noticed that they had their storefront right next to them so I finally was able to stop by. I got two double chocolate chip cookies to go. I didn't try them until I got home about 30 ish minutes later and was disappointed to see that the cookies were not fresh. I thought they'd be at least a little warm but they were hard as a rock. I did end up warming them in the oven later so bring some life back. They do taste good but at the end of the day....its just a 5 dollar cookie.. Nothing too exciting.

Yelp
These cookies are WORTH IT!!!! I stopped by while picking up my lunch. We were helped immediately and I was honestly overwhelmed by how tasty everything looked. I ended up getting the chocolate chip walnut cookie and a blueberry muffin. The cookie was so soft, gooey, warm, and slightly crispy on top. Additionally, they're big! The muffin also had a nice crisp on top. It was slightly dense, in the best way possible. Will definitely be going back for more!!!

Yelp
Skip the long cupcake line and head over for a delicious ginormous cookie next door! Love the heavy-weight cookies and there's hardly a line at the Bethesda location! There are only a 5 classic flavors - chocolate chip walnut (house signature cookie), chocolate chip, 2 chocolate chip (semi-dark and milk chocolate), peanut butter, and dark chocolate chip, along with a handful of pastries and loaves of bread. The cookies weigh like a pound and extremely filling, great for sharing! The Dark Chocolate Chip cookie is hands-down my favorite! Tastes like an ooey gooey brownie when warmed up in the microwave for 30 sec. The shop is quite cozy and there's really no place to sit-down. Come in and grab a cookie! So glad another location opened up in Bethesda and don't have to drive all the way to Georgetown, a delicious dessert option aside from the overhyped cupcakes!

Yelp
They said consistency, quality, and delicious all in one! Whenever I visit, Levain always has the cookies that I'm looking to purchase (warm cookies that is). My favorite is the original: chocolate chip walnut.

Yelp
I came at 8am on a Tuesday morning to avoid the long lines and to find easier parking. The Elm Garage is the closest and directly across from the bakery. I didn't know and parked in the Capita Crescent Garage which is still close by. My thoughtful planning worked as I was the only one in the bakery and in and out quickly. I purchased the Chocolate Chip Walnut, the original, and the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. Loved the Chocolate Chip Walnut. May just be the best cookie I have ever had. The Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip was to rich and decadent for me. I would need milk or vanilla ice cream to balance it out. They do offer milk and non-dairy products. I tend to have digestion problems with milk in the morning so try to avoid it early in the day. The bakery also offers bread, pastries, and beverages (coffee, tea, milk, and bottled water). The bakery is small and I could see how there would be long lines extending outside. There's not much room to socially distance. Indoor seating is not available. There are two umbrellas with three seats and a small wooden table each out front. If the bakery was more spacious and had indoor seating, I bet they would attract even more patrons. Not that they need to worry about that. The server who took my order and rung me up was friendly. If I was in the area I would definitely love to come back, but probably wouldn't if there was a line. My alternative plan is to purchase the cookies in the freezer section at select grocery stores such as Harris Teeter and Whole Foods. Online purchases and delivery is also another option. I heated my leftover cookie in the microwave for ten seconds and it was so delicious. I will have probably love baking it at home so it's nice and warm.
