Levain Bakery – Williamsburg
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Even at $5.75 a cookie, I’m still in love. Levain has been THAT cookie for me for over a decade — ever since I had my first one back when they only had their original Upper West Side location. Now that they’ve expanded, the Williamsburg spot has become one of my go-to stops whenever I’m in the neighborhood.
The space is well sized and warm. On this particular rainy Friday evening, someone had the R&B playlist just right — total vibe. You walk in, get hit with that fresh-baked smell, and suddenly whatever stress you had going on just melts away. Service is fast, super friendly, and you’re in and out in minutes — which is dangerous because I could easily walk out with a box of six.
Of course, we had to go with the classic OG chocolate chip walnut — gooey, melty, crunchy on the edges, soft in the center — it’s the one that made Levain famous for a reason. But we also tried the seasonal lemon cookie with white chocolate chips, and wow… it was a HIT. Tart, sweet, buttery, and with that signature Levain texture. Honestly, it surprised me how much I liked it.
There’s just something nostalgic about Levain. These cookies always bring a smile to my face and make me feel like a kid again. After more than 10 years of being a loyal Levain customer, I can say with full confidence: they still got it.
Pricey? Sure. Worth it? EVERY SINGLE TIME.
