Two floors of classic arcade and pinball alongside a full bar and late hours; praised by local outlets and home to the speakeasy-style Alchemy 48 downstairs.

Really yummy drinks. Had the Link Elixir, and Scorpions colada. Both very tasty and mildly strong. Vibes are great. Music is at good volume. Veey clean. Love the pinball choice and a few other cabinet games!! Will definitely be back! Kind bartenders and staff.

Google
An arcade lovers dream, this had me and my sister reminiscing about being kids. We had so much fun introducing her kids to this place. My brother in law was a fan of the bar. The music was great and the pin ball machines were my favorite although big shout outs for the Mario/donkey Kong/Tetris games we played.

Google
Level One has always been one of our regular stops because it’s an awesome place to hang with great games, awesome service, tasty food and drinks. Always always always a great time! Level One was even gracious enough to let my husband and I take photos at the bar right after our wedding ceremony down the street on Valentine’s Day. So kind of you all for letting us come in and take some awesome pics! Thank you so much!!

Google
Fun, good food, and friendly staff. I don't drink alcohol and all of the bartenders have always been very sweet about it and I've even had them make me little non-alcoholic drinks, very laid back here.

Google
Great draft selection and prices. We're served quickly, and the beers are nice and cold. The food is hot and fresh; the loaded tots and boneless buffalo wings are the best. One of our favorite places to play darts and some awesome nostalgic games.

Google
Level 1 Arcade Bar gets five stars all day. You want video games? They got em. Want darts? Yup, got that too. Craving food and drinks that do not taste like microwave sadness? They are covered there as well. It is the kind of place that checks every box for a solid night out without trying to be overly trendy or pretentious. The vibe is super chill. It does get busy at night, but in a good way, like everyone just showed up for the same reason, to eat, drink, and pretend their reflexes are still sharp enough for Street Fighter. They run dart tournaments, which is fun whether you are throwing or just spectating with a drink in hand and silently judging everyone's aim. Staff is awesome. Friendly, fast, and they actually seem to enjoy being there, which is rare in any place that serves both food and cocktails while blasting arcade sounds. I used to be a regular here before I moved, and any time I wanted to get out of the house, grab some food, and throw some darts, this was the spot. It is fun, low pressure, and packed with just enough nostalgia to make you feel like a kid with better beverage options. Highly recommend.

Google
Level 1 Mesa is the BEST. As a pinball fan, I love this place. As a Godzilla fan, I'm always hogging that particular machine. 😅 I also want to give a shout-out to Alex the bartender! He always provides exceptional service and even goes out of his way to make up for other staff issues to make sure customers have a good time. An absolute gem of a human.

Ben Mills

Google
Truly a fun hidden gem! Went there with a few friends and had a blast playing some old school arcade games, grabbing a few drinks and food. Truly friendly staff too! There was even a speakeasy in the lower level. Hope to try that out next time. Also, 3 hour parking directly in the back of the venue.

Yelp
Came here to play darts and celebrate my partner's birthday. Not our first time and def not our last. Darts, shots, and some bar food. Was pleasantly surprised by the chicken quesadilla we shared (LARGE). The bartender was super sweet and overheard us talking about my boyfriend's birthday and offered him a free birthday shot which was thoughtful! Darts are great there as they have 4 individual dart boards and plenty of room for everyone to shoot. Sick pinball machines upstairs. It was about 2pm and not super busy since the night crowd wasn't quite in yet. Parking out back was still tight though. Vibes are nerdy and immaculate

Yelp
2 story arcade bar. We sat the level 1 bar for a while and didn't get any service but the bartender was quick to visit w her friends instead of helping us. We ventured upstairs where most of the games were. Service was quick at the upstairs bar even though I had to ask for the rainbow candy that was supposed to be in my drink. Games are 1 token except for the pinball machines, which were 4 tokens. There are other arcade bars that I would venture to and recommend due to lack of service.

Yelp
I had about an hour today before I needed to be somewhere and stopped in to check out the arcade here. They have HH here from 3-7pm and $1 off drafts. Bartender was nice and explained to me that the machines here take tokens. I got a pint of beer and then headed upstairs to play Ms Pac Man. I also made sure that this was the fast version Ms Pac Man as there is a regular version Ms Pac Man and I don't like that one. I scoped out the machine first before deciding to get a beer. The place was pretty empty when I came in and I was able to play two games of Ms Pac Man and enjoy my beer at the same time. They also put little side tables by the arcade, so you have a place to set down your drink as you play. Lots of old school video games here including Tetris and Dr Mario! I'd definitely come back again when I feel like playing a few rounds of my favorite arcade game! Parking available on the street, bathrooms located on both floors.

Yelp
Went on a Thursday night and it was hopping. They had karaoke going and great tasty wings at a low price. The variation of arcade games is minimal though. We brought a $20 bill and unless you are local and will be coming weekly, that is too much. It's $.25 per game minus the pin ball machines which are $1.00. The bar tenders are okay. Kinda stand offish and ignore you here and there. When you try to play machines near the folks doing karaoke, they give you the death stare. We didn't do darts, but that looked like the most fun option. Great place overall though. Has a great vibe.

Yelp
You know it's going to be a legendary night when your main competition at darts is a rogue fan blowing your aim off because, apparently, even the air wants you to lose. So, there we were, bar hopping around DT Mesa like pros, when someone casually mentioned, "Hey, there's an arcade upstairs at this underground speakeasy." Challenge accepted. Now, let me tell you, playing darts after a few drinks is a whole different sport. Did we break some dart tips? Absolutely. Did my buddy somehow manage to launch darts behind the machine like some kind of ninja? Without a doubt. And yes, we definitely tried blaming the fan for our poor aim because who else can you blame when your darts have a mind of their own? It was hilarious. Meanwhile, Mike D., aka The Darts King and also Mr. Friendliest 2018 (go add him), is still sitting on his throne. Honestly, I'm getting tired of his reign. I need to snatch that crown! This spot is legit, though. They have a handful of games, a well-stocked bar, and cozy tables where you can chill. That night, there was even a nearly-wedded couple with their whole crew hanging out. Super chill vibes. Yeah, I'm coming back.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot for a drink and to play some arcade games. Bartenders were friendly and so was the person who was checking ID's at the door. We hung out upstairs and the back patio. Drinks are fairly priced.

Yelp
Loved this place, didn't care for the drive to get here from Gilber, but I understand that they will have a location over in the Queen Creek area soon. I loved the fact that I could have my teenagers there with me to play some pinball as some vintage arcade games. The place had the vibe of an 80's mall arcade, C'mon, you know we all loved those places with our pockets full of quarters. They two convenient bars one upstairs and one down as you walked in. The tap beers were ice freaking cold, made for a great beverage playing the games. the age and care of the machines were top notch which added to the enjoyment of our visit. They had dartboards lined up downstairs and that will be the reason we go back as the boys love to play darts. You can't go wrong hanging out in old town Mesa at the Level 1 Arcade bar. The staff was super friendly and engaged.

Yelp
We were going meet friend here for happy hour and I didn't want to go at all. I'm a dive bar person. I was very happy I went. This place is super fun. So many games, the prices were reasonable and the bartenders were on point. We got the nachos which I thought were good. Chips, chicken and cheese. No Guacamole, salsa, sour cream, or anything else with it. I was fine with that, but others at the table wanted it all, whatever. We got there early on Friday, about 3 o'clock, by 7:30 the place was filling up. Pretty trendy, Diverse crowd. Boomers, girls with green and blue hair, just everybody. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in here while exploring DT Mesa and had a blast! We went near when they opened and there were only a few people there. I was immediately transported to the 90's and to my favorite childhood games that I played at the pizza place or laundromat. There's two levels with games on both levels (majority of them are upstairs). The price is extremely reasonable with the arcade games costing 25 cents and pinball $1. There's an ATM next to the coin change in case you didn't bring cash. I can't speak for the food or drinks because we didn't order anything. This was a fun surprise while out and about!
google avatar

Daniel P.

Yelp
Went to ask for simple change at the bar, all I got was a "I don't have change right now, come back in 20 minutes..", stellar customer service, right? Also, the Tekken machine is broken. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
My favorite local bar! Been coming since they opened up! Always a nice chill time, my fav drink is their scorpion colada! I am yet to try their food, but sure it's delicious, just like their drinks! Lots of arcade games! Music can be a bit better I think! Otherwise my fav place!
google avatar

Kyndra P.

Yelp
This is now my favorite bar! Such a fun concept, drinking and playing games lol love it! The drinks are great and the staff is super fun. I haven't tried there food but I'm sure it's great as well!

Yelp
Me and my friends were treated horribly here! We checked out this place on a Saturday night for the first time and the service was not great. We got there by 6:30pm/7pm and it wasn't packed. We waited over 10 minutes just to get one drink. She was serving people that got there after us first. When the bartender finally acknowledged us, she was rude and had an attitude. After, we went to check out upstairs, she followed us and went to tell the other bartender at the upstairs bar about us when I'm not sure why. She even went as far as to tell the guy outside for the speakeasy to not let us in either. The rest of our time there, she continued to be rude and continued to not serve us. We kept trying to get her attention so we can order more drinks and give the place business but she ended up kicking us out for no reason! We were never rude to her, never gave her attitude, never yelled at her or anything. She was the one wearing a referee costume and had short black hair and was about maybe 5'5? The place was really cool and we were excited to check it out but her bad attitude and very bad service ruined our experience!!!

Yelp
This is such a fun place for date night or to meet up with friends! They have a plethora of old style arcade games to choose from, as well as drinks. Came in on a Sunday evening and it was fairly quiet. The second level has most of the games but the only downfall was both of the atm machines to get cash out were down. Fun, cute place to go & I will be back if I am in the area
google avatar

Yelp
I'm pretty positive this is my new favorite place. Wish it opened up an hour earlier on weekdays but oh well. Games are great, pin ball is great. Outdoor area is great. Beer selection is more than great. Staff is nice. Food is yummy. Love being able to come here after work for a drink and some games. They have a mystery bag you Can get for 5.50 and it's gotta mystery beer and 4 tokens in it every time!

Linda C.

Yelp
I liked the food and drinks and video games!' So fun. However, later in the night, we found someone had vomited trying to get into the bathroom, and we immediately alerted her the nearest employee, who was the bartender, who just kinda shrugged. That was concerning. Yes I knew he was busy but he didn't immediately say he'd get someone!! HOWEVER, my friend also immediately alerted the passing bar back who immediately took care of it. He was the hero of the night.
google avatar

Shawna B.

Yelp
Such a fun spot. Nice mix of pinball and console games...including the GOAT-Burgertime.
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
I usually go to the Gilbert location but this one is much better! 2 levels of fun, bars on both levels , a patio , and darts! So fun!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Loved visiting this Arcade and Bar! We were treated so nicely by all the staff, including the door host - pictured with my review! He was so friendly and made sure we knew all the details and helped us to have a great visit. Tons of games, plenty of good food, and two stories of fun! 10/10 would recommend. We are planning our next trip to Level One for the Bloody Mary brunch - heard great things about it!
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Games are low quality. Food took forever to come out. Tacos were like glorified version from Taco Bell. Fried Oreos were okay. Some of the workers were snotty and rude when I asked about our munchies.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Had a good time playing all the old arcade games I played at the mall arcade years ago. Some games take 4 tokens (1$) and some only one. The drinks were great and the food tasty. The bartenders were amazing. Great time. We went on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't busy. Come check it out. It's fun.
google avatar

LittleBean ..

Yelp
Cocktails tasted great my friend said and as a non cocktail drinker myself I tried the toasty one and it tasted like hot chocolate kinda liked it they have a decent size amount of pinballs but a handful don't work or a lot have stick buttons and the screens don't indicate when you've inserted coins so you kinda go threw a trust the system know there coins even if the screen doesn't change , and the top floor of the place smelled like piss. Ok spot I still think yucca tap rooms pinball area is better
google avatar

Chelsea S.

Yelp
We had so much fun here. This was the first arcade/pinball bar I have tried since moving back to Arizona and it was a great time. A good selection of beers on draft. Absolutely love pinball and had fun on the pinball machines. Spent a lot of time on shooting games and fighting games, since there were 2 of us. We used it as a date night and it was well worth it.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
What a great idea to bring back all the old school arcade games!! It's on the strip to downtown Mesa! Perfect!! It's fun to take the kids to or to go on a date! We attended a 40th Birthday Party here and it was great!! Such a great vibe so fun and nostalgic, the employees were kind and the games were on point!! The drinks liked amazing and the food was like finger foods fast and easy, pretzel bites, chicken, wings, tater tots, tacos, stuff, like that simple filling. I would definitely recommend anyone who loves to play retro video games. This is the place for you! We had so much fun.
google avatar

Tarren P.

Yelp
We came for a friend's birthday party and it was so fun! What a great idea putting a bar in an arcade. The bartender was quick and kind, and the drinks were fair priced. My Montucky Cold Snack was $3! I didn't get a chance to try the food but Level 1 is a great place to host an adult birthday party or even go for a date night. So fun!
google avatar

AzIceQueen B.

Yelp
This place is COOL! Service was great! Wish I remembered the lady behind the bars name, she was so nice and friendly. Gave us a free taste of some mystery mix in the frozen machine at the 1st level bar. Not sure what it was supposed to be but, she didn't know either We ordered the pretzel with cheese and taco tator tots. Both were delicious, specially loved the pretzel and cheese. We didn't play any games on this visit but will be back another day to play. Will be back
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Very cool place with a good variety of games. Their food is surprisingly good too. The drinks are nothing to laugh at, unless you've had too many. We have been there a few times and will continue to visit to play some cool retro games and pinball.
google avatar

Toryanni E.

Yelp
Great place! Good cocktails, a bit on the sweet side but good flavor. Food is also good AND FUN! The funnel fries are a must order IMO. I also really liked the tater tots. Great atmosphere though, lots of games to play. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. The Odderpop cocktail wound up being my favorite and you get to keep the cup! They do also have a good beer selection so a little something for everyone really.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Level 1 is a cool place to spend some time (and money) playing a variety of arcade games! Pinball? Yep! Classic arcade games from different eras? Yep! Darts? Yep! Reasonable pricing? Yep! I got $20 worth of tokens... and would have only spent $5 of that if not for an epic hours-long journey into the world of Gauntlet! With two bar options - one upstairs and one downstairs - you never have to wait long to get your favorite beverage. Bartenders were welcoming and quick to get your order prepared. And prices are fair too. I will definitely be back, if for no other reason than to spend the rest of my tokens! ****FOUR STARS****

Yelp
Decent arcade bar with functional games! Not sure how the bar usually smells, but let's just say, we were there on a Saturday night when it smelled like someone launched a butt shuttle that stunk up the place for hours!!! If u're able to not let the stink bother u, then it's a decent arcade! Their dart boards were pretty new and we loved playing gauntlet legends! Arcade games were pretty inexpensive, 1 coin (a quarter) to play, but the pin ball, machines were more pricey ($1). Drink prices were on the higher side, considering it's an arcade, $12-17. From the few games that we played, it appears as though the arcade had functional games, this arcade isn't anything close to Dave n Busters. It's super small compared to Dave n Busters. I was a little annoyed that the workers kept opening the door and going in and out of their soon to open speak easy while we were playing darts. They were really nice about excusing themselves every time they did it, but they were going in and out very frequently, and I didn't like feeling like I was in the way for most of the time that I was playing darts. It would have been nice if they could have done their speak easy preparations during a time when not many people were playing darts. Overall, I had a fun time with friends and would go back here to play the 25 cent games again!!

Yelp
At Level 1 Arcade Bar, winner of Best Arcade Bar by Phoenix New Times, relive the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s with 100 retro arcade games and pinball machines, paired with cocktails that will take you on a sensory time machine. Play with classic tokens as you sip on a "Rainbow Brite" with vanilla vodka, strawberry syrup, orgeat, white creme de cacao, topped with a rainbow candy or go back to your childhood with the "Odder Pop"(yes it tastes like a grape Otter Pop), with Malfy Limone Gin, Violet Liqueur, lemon, simple, red bull blue and dried blueberries. The "Sub-Zero" cocktail for two, served with ice blue large format spherical cubes, is a vibrant punch of rum, blueberry vodka, blue curacao, basil syrup, lemon and sprite. Much like the cocktails that invoke the 80s and 90s, classic bar food options feed your late night cravings with an assortment of savory and sweet bites such as an epic Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, Funnel Cake Fries, Deep Fried Oreos, pretzel bites, pizza, tacos, and chicken bites. The space is two floors, with a bar on each floor, as well as a DJ and dance floor on the weekends. Though the aesthetic is modern, retro colors such as hot pink and teal create the vibe. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 3-7PM. Tuesdays, guests can get free tokens when they buy a drink. Wednesdays, women get free tokens.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Cool idea but just dropped money in 3 separate games and everyone one of them was broken/not functioning correctly.
google avatar

Chelsea J.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I can't speak to the food but it's very clean and well kept inside, even the bathrooms. The games are 1-4 tokens so a small cup of tokens lasts a long time. $3 domestic drafts, amazing price in todays economy. Great place to hang out and super nice staff.
google avatar

Diele K.

Yelp
In the valley, I've tried two of these locations and always find the atmosphere fun and a unique way to have a drink with a friend or even on a date. I love the nostalgia of playing a pinball machine, and love that I can also enjoy a beverage while playing. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and be aware it's bar service so don't be shy to go order up there! I'll definitely be back when in the area.
google avatar

K K.

Yelp
We love dropping in here w/ these guys! We have ordered their pizza, their nacho taco salad thing lol, and recommend both. The nacho tacos are great depending on who makes them. The delicious cheese can make the chips soggy super quick if not prepared properly. The pizza and cheese were a pleasant surprise for this type of establishment. Not five star food, but it's a gaming site and there is a large selection of items!! We love the friendly people here and watching the gamers while we sip margs and eat! Thanks for all the kindness and great service!! PS!! BIG DEAL and why they get FIVE stars is the cleanliness!! These guys don't skip a beat wiping tables immediately and the bathroom is so clean!! So important! Thanks again!
google avatar

Jesi M.

Yelp
If the employees don't like the music that's being played then they should work somewhere without a touch tunes. I paid money for music to play.
google avatar

Ari A.

Yelp
Love this place! Staff can be friendly but the vibes are cool and they play great music! Lots to do!

John H.

Yelp
Great service, and alot of fun! We went there after a show and had some drinks, and played some old Retro games!

Yelp
Sara was awesome, very friendly, good conversation and amazing food and drink service. Thank you Sara very much we will come back because of you.

Yelp
I'm happy to see another new arcade bar open up in Mesa. There is an upstairs and downstairs. We mostly spent our time upstairs. It is quite loud. If you're looking to have some deep conversations with whoever you go with, this is not the place for you. But if your looking to play some vintage games and have a few drinks then you'll enjoy this place. They do offer food but I did not try any during my visit. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Persephone J. W.

Yelp
LEVEL 1 Arcade Bar second location in Mesa. Their 1st is in Gilbert. Lots of games to choose from. Right in the heart of downtown Mesa. Full bar and solid food menu.
google avatar

Nick W.

Yelp
This place is amazing. There's now two great arcade bars in downtown Mesa; BRI and Level 1. This place (Level 1) is more of a party atmosphere than BRI. It's loud inside and feels more hype. BRI is a little more low-key and quieter. Both places are great, it just depends on the atmosphere you're looking for.

Shelby B.

Yelp
With it being my birthday I wanted to go to my favorite spot with my family have a beer and play games. It was before 7 when minors can be in with guardians. My younger cousins lives with me. She wasn't even sitting at the bar they said they couldn't serve us anything or be there because of a minor. They followed by saying I need to provide guardianship in order for us to be in the building. She's 20 years old and just wanted to play the arcade games. Very bummed to not get to spend my birthday the way I had planned.
google avatar

Jorge G.

Yelp
The drinks and atmosphere were amazing. I would highly recommend this to anyone the Mesa area.

Tony G.

Yelp
Service and bar tender were awesome! Cool place to hang out and have some drinks with retro games.

Chris L.

Yelp
Location, food, and service are fantastic. They have great games and the speakeasy down below is a completely different experience.

Anna B.

Yelp
I was unable to stay and accompany my family at Level One as I use a walker and an elevator is not provided. I will be reviewing ADA regulations. Out door seating is provided but the temperature is already 104 in Mesa,Az. We were treating my six year old great grandson here as a last treat before the start of school. He was already excited at all the games and I did not want everyone to leave on my account. Very disappointing and inconsiderate to the handicapped. I cannot access the high tops or tall bar stools. If even a couple of tables inside on the main floor. Level One is a three floor game and restaurant. Luckily I drove myself and didn't inconvenience the rest of my group.

George M.

Yelp
Leeann all the way! Great Bartender and Great Service! Always a great time! Highly recommend her specialty drinks and shots!
google avatar

Efren M.

Yelp
Everything was on point, except for the fact that I kept feeding the games more than I ever have , even when I was winning and had multiple lives left. It's a bit nefarious to have their games set up like that. I will continue to go there, but I will play less video games and since that's their main attraction and I don't drink, I'll move along to the next form of entertainment.
