"Fried Brussels sprouts and spicy tuna tartare are favorites at this lounge devoted to small plates designed for sharing. The globally-influenced plates go well with a cocktail: the long list includes a lime foam-topped gimlet and tropical white sangria." - Tierney Plumb, Claudia Rosenbaum

This was my second time at Level lounge, and I was looking forward to this visit a bit more since I had an opentable dining certificate to redeem. My happy hour dinner started nice with their Short rib flatbread and Fried house pickles, and the flatbread was on point with all of its flavors working their magic. Spicy pork belly was a-ok: liked the sauce but the pork belly slices were pretty dry. Curried crab bruschetta was also a-ok. But my dessert, flourless brownie, ruined my meal. It seems to be outsourced and was one of the hardest brownies I have had. The bartender serving me was pretty attentive and pleasant to interact with. In spite of this mediocre dining experience, I look forward to returning here on my next Annapolis visit as my first visit was rather nice.

The grilled oysters were so good we had to order a second plate! Bacon wrapped scallops are also a must. The Harvest "Mule" is a great mocktail option if you aren't drinking. Definitely coming back!

I stopped in for a bite to eat and was amazingly surprised. The food was perfect, drinks were tasty, and the atmosphere was casual yet upscale. I especially loved the Farm to Table delicacies! A MUST TRY!

We ate lunch here for first time on Sunday. Our server Jenna was FANTASTIC! She was very helpful, welcoming and friendly. All staff we had contact with were equally amazing. We started with the thai chili brussel sprouts and the jerk pork belly with cilantro sauce. The brussel sprouts had the perfect char on them. The pork belly had a very nice crust on it, I assume from the seasoning. Whoa man, we highly recommend it. We then got the Burrata with basil pesto and sun dried tomatoes and serloin with asparagus and feta dishes. The only thing I would suggest with Burrata is maybe 2 more pieces of the baguette. I am a picky eater and did not know what it even was. I was surprised, I loved it! The serloin and asparagus was delicious. I loved that they serve a good portion of asparagus. It too was cooked to perfection. For our drinks, I had the Peach Apple Sangria. It is my favorite Sangria out of all other places I've had Sangria around MD. My husband had the Bourbonapolis since he is a Woodford fan. He also got Born Again since he also loves Old Forester. We will for sure be back again. Don't even hesitate go in and order away. You will not be disappointed.

With a relaxed atmosphere, wonderful servers and delicious menu options, Level is the perfect place to enjoy an evening out! After pleasantries from the smiling hostess, Server, Sam G. Introduced himself and gave a brief overview of the menu. He was friendly and attentive throughout service! The restaurant specializes in small plates and custom cocktails all with farm fresh ingredients ranging from simple to complex flavor profiles. Of particular note was the Grilled Sirloin with asparagus, wild mushroom risotto with leeks and the crab Mac n cheese. The dish’s components were perfectly balanced and a delight for the eyes as well as the palette. Manager, Erich, was pleasant and personable and seemed genuine when he stopped by the table to say hello and ensure an enjoyable experience. All in all, a great evening and a new favorite restaurant!!

I’ve eaten here a few times and the food is AMAZING. We’re planning my bridal shower next month with Eric and he makes the process so easy. If you’re thinking about having an event here- do it! The food selection and spaces they provide are top of the line. Great selection of apps, entrees desserts and drinks.

Google
Had dinner here last night and it was lovely & delicious! All of the plates are shareable, and they don't offer entrees, which we preferred. My sister and I split 5 different plates: Crab Mac & Cheese (highly recommend!), Seared Scallops, Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, Pork Belly & the house made Fries. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, we sat outside and there was also music. Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere in Downtown Annapolis that's casual/yet elegant!

Google
We held a rehearsal dinner here and it could not have been received better! Planning it from across the country was scary, but Eric made it easy and walked us through the whole process with a positive attitude and great advice when we asked. The food was absolutely delicious, from the salmon to the ribs to the brussels sprouts to the "famous" fries to the cheesecake. The sliders for appetizers were a huge hit. Wait staff was professional, accommodating and so easy to work with. Easily the "best" decision was choosing Level to host our son and his bride's rehearsal dinner. A very happy Mom of the Groom here!!!

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening prior to seeing a concert. It was pretty empty, but that was likely because happy hour had just ended and it was raining outside. The venue is dark and romantic, and is very deceiving when you first enter. It looks quite small but upon walking back toward the bar, you can see that there is a larger dining area under the staircase. (And also, perhaps more dining on the second level?) The food was excellent. Grilled sirloin was fantastically cooked (medium rare, the only acceptable option other than rare lol), and was super flavorful. My favorite was the current restaurant week special though: scallops with aguachile. The plates here are small, as it is a tapas bar, but I found them perfectly sized for one person such as myself. The portions are enough that a couple plates would fill you up if you didn't want to share. But if you are looking to try a bunch of plates, between two people 4-6 plates should do the trick. Drink wise, I ordered the blood orange sangria which wasn't that great. The sweet to sour ratio was imbalanced with it mostly just being very sour and slightly watered down from the ice. Our waitress, Tracey, was very sweet and so helpful. So the great service and amazing food is worth overlooking the lackluster cocktail. Also, I'm sure if I told her I didn't like it, it would've been switched out but I was too involved in my conversation. All in all, I definitely will be back!

Yelp
Level A Small Plates is still our favorite night cap. Dessert and mocktails are a must here. Mocktails seem to be the new trend and they have a very extensive list (priced about $1-2 more than most of the other restaurants). Review is to simply thank staff for being awesome and to post some updated yummy images.

Marc M.

Yelp
We love this place. Every time I'm in town this is at the top of my list. The small plates allow you to sample all the different tastes without missing out. I love everything but the lamb is tops.

Dennis M.

Yelp
I really like this place. West street in Annapolis. We didn't have a reservation this round, but they found a table for 2 upstairs. Hostess stated the bar tender would wait in us. Uh oh. The bartender was super busy with his own tables sat at the bar along with fulfilling other servers bar orders for their tables. I expected a long wait, but between other staff helping, we ended up just fine in the service department. Wine - above par. We ordered a bottle of the Malbec. Super bold red. Food - wide and I shared multiple tapas. Favorites weee braised short rib and the scallops. Great vibe in the upstairs dining room. Nice exercise to get up there. Highly recommend

Yelp
Overall, it was a great date night experience with fun drinks, yummy food, and excellent service. The ambiance was cute, but for the price i was hoping for the food to be a little bit better. The drinks menu was awesome. There was great variety and they were open to making some into mocktails! The original demons drink was the best I've had in a long time. The pork belly was probably the star of the show for us and we made it during happy hour which gave us cheaper prices on that and the flatbread. Udon was great. The flatbread was okay. The scallops were yummy but a little burnt and was hoping for more of the sides for $17. The cookies were pretty dry and crumbly. Cookies are my favorite dessert, but these didn't hit the spot. Love the pride flags and more inclusive bathrooms.

Yelp
What a cool spot. Went on a Monday evening where there weren't too many other patrons at the time (~5:30PM) and ordered a few items before their happy hour ended. First thing I noticed is their flexibility to accommodate. They can make most of their cocktails into mocktail versions, so people feel less left out. And their cocktails are good! There's a good balance and depth to the drinks where it's clear whoever is in charge of the drink menu is somebody that takes great care in how they craft their drinks. There's infused liquor, presentation, and a few other "small" details that elevate the drinks to a different level. As far as food goes, much like the name implies, everything is tapas-style. Serving size per dish is probably for 2 people; 3 people per dish feels like it would be a stretch. Everything is delicious. I was impressed by the flavors of all the dishes, but the thing that impressed me the most was the cook on the meats. Everything was extremely tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. Definitely appreciated in a tapas-place because bites are limited, but each bite was memorable. Really enjoyed visiting and it looks like they rotate their menus on a seasonal basis, so there's new things to try throughout the year. I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Amazing service! The owner Eric and waitress Rhiannon was so kind and generous to us as we celebrated our friends bday. The food was 5 stars! Can't wait to go again

Lillian L.

Yelp
Such a cute little place! The restaurant is clean and the decor is adorable. Easy to make reservations which we did online. We walked here from our hotel but I am unsure what the parking situation would be like here. The service was excellent and our server Hank was attentive and patient when we asked questions. I think we ordered like half the menu. Do not leave here without trying their Brussels sprouts! They were the best thing on the menu. We also tried their ribeye, scallops, spicy pork belly, crab flatbread, truffle mac and cheese, shrimp n grits, fried calamari, grilled oysters, bulgogi lettuce wraps, short rib udon, and grilled lamb skewers. I enjoyed their ribeye, flatbread, scallops and mac and cheese. I would skip the lettuce wraps if I came back. I definitely would recommend and if am ever in the area again, would love to try the other things on their menu.

Hemanth D.

Yelp
Second visit was much better....I knew what to order! I didn't go wrong with Tuna, Brussel sprouts, and Shrimp. We ordered lamb but other was not so great. Banana pudding desert was ok as well. Service was good. There was plenty of space when my wife and I went there Friday evening. I'll visit again but will be careful trying anything new beyond those that I liked!

Brian S.

Yelp
Excellent food. Had the scallops, the salmon, Brussels sprouts and pork belly - all were excellent. Service was excellent; attentive waitstaff. It was a very quiet Tuesday evening. We made reservations on line: quick and easy. It was a bit out of our budget, but for a special date we would go again.

Maggie L.

Yelp
OMG, I cant even explain how perfect everything was here the night I dined in with my family. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING from service to food were top notch! I love the concept of small plates because it allows us to share and sample a variety of tapas. My young daughter AND my baby both enjoyed the food and we licked each plate clean. Definitely coming back again the next time I'm around.

John M.

Yelp
The food in this small, stylish restaurant far outshines the atmosphere; Staff wear T-shirts. We sat at the bar and they cleared space for us, but left the counter very wet. The food is primarily small plates and the grilled oysters were excellent. The crab bruschetta was very good and the trout was devine. The lamb chops were too chewy.

Gary H.

Yelp
They have a nice bar area with great cocktails. Their calamari and sea scallops stand out in my mind. The mojitos are great here. Easy to ring up a good bill with the "small plates" but this type of dining is very common in Europe too. Which means the plate sizes are common for Europe not not the US where everything is bigger. Noise levels can be high. Admirable whenever a restaurant stays in business as long as it has been.

Morgan D.

Yelp
Wanted to love it, but the food was too salty; every dish we had (4) was over salted and having the same flavor profile. The drinks were great and the service was nice.

Anna F.

Yelp
I've eaten at Level a handful of times and the food and service have always been spectacular. The ambience is modern. I was recently at Level for a friend's birthday celebration and they have Happy Hour from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. They have food also for Happy hour. I especially enjoyed the pork belly and truffle Mac and cheese. Their happy hour drinks are gimlet, angels and demon and bourbonopolis. Our server, Briget was great and so patient with all of us.

Walt F.

Yelp
The waitress was not very attentive, which was funny because the restaurant was practically empty. She had no idea what she was doing and didn't know anything about the menu. She also didn't understand that appetizers come out first followed by the entrees. The manager had to get our drink refills, because the waitress was nowhere to be found. After dinner I went to the restroom which had urine all over the floor and a dirty sink. This used to be a good place to eat, but has gone downhill. Not to mention it was freezing inside when we arrived and when we said something (3x) even the help said they were cold as well. The food was okay, but not as tasty in the earlier days. Not to mention our entrees were cold. Sad because we used to really like this place. After speaking with Eric the manager, he assured me that they were going to retrain the waitress and the other staff, which to be fair a number of whom are new, so they can provide the service we as customers are used to when we patronize this establishment. He also said they replaced the thermostat as they found it to be faulty. I told him we understood and would be back and that I would update my review. His attentiveness to us the customers is greatly appreciated. Eric is a stand-up guy, and we appreciated the call!!!

Tracy K.

Yelp
What a nice place! Small plates all but the Brussels, they are Devine, but a huge portion, the ribs were also a good portion. Good drinks and great ambiance!

John Z.

Yelp
How do you review perfection? We happened upon Level on our first ever visit to Annapolis to celebrate our Golden Anniversary. We have been ordering multiple appetizers for years, making our own small plates experiences, and Level specializes in this type of dining. The food was spectacular! The Grilled Oysters were as good as any in New Orleans, the Spicy Pork Belly was terrific, the Duck Confit was the best ever, and there were many more tempting dishes too good to not try. Finished our meal with warm homemade chocolate chip cookies with a dish of cereal milk for dunking. The cocktails were imaginative and paired beautifully with food. We dined on the upper level, which kept us above the frenetic pace of the main room, and I would be remiss not to mention the superior attentive service from our server, Jenna. In all, it was an evening to remember!

Mimi W.

Yelp
Not bad at all! Service was shaky early on but got better with time. I think they were a bit understaffed so we gave them some grace. The manager did come over and take our drink order and once our waitress showed up, it was smooth sailing. We tried a few dishes and 2 desserts. Calamari - 8/10 The presentation wasn't great but the taste made up for it. Hot and yummy. The spicy sauce is definitely the star of the show. Brussel Sprouts - 9/10 These were very good. Beware that the pan is hot and so are the sprouts. I was being so greedy I burned the top of my mouth. Still in pain 4 days later. I also didn't pay attention to the fact that they had pork in them, but we ate around it. Salmon Poke Bowl - 8/10 Another yummy one. The mango wasn't as ripe as I usually like them but I know how fruit can be hit or miss these days. Shrimp and Grits - 7/10 Flavor was a little lacking and the shrimp were slightly over cooked, but still good. Short Rib Pasta - I can't even rate this. Not happy with presentation at all...or maybe I was just expecting it to look differently When it arrived, I saw one piece of meat barely the size of the date. I thought maybe the rest was hiding but it wasn't. The noodles were just barely cooked. I don't even think they were Al dente. Sent it back immediately. Banana Bread Pudding - 8/10. Good but I wish it was a little warmer. Small portion which can be a good or bad thing, depending on who you are. Brownie - 8.5/10. If this brownie was hot, it would have been perfect. It didn't come with ice cream either, so we were comped a scoop because of our short rib pasta debacle. For drinks we had the Agua Fresca Al Fuego and the mocktail version. Both were good. Parking was easy. There is some street parking and a parking deck across the street. Definitely worth a visit. And close enough to the waterfront where you can explore the area before or afterwards

Chey I.

Yelp
Our time here was peaceful and easy. The food was wonderful and Hank was able to point us in the right direction when it came to the menu. Lamb chops, Brussel sprouts, and Bulgogi lettuce wraps were phenomenal. Thanks to the kitchen for the Kim chi secrets Jen, the manager- she made it special with her personal touch on hospitality!

Jena P.

Yelp
Amazing food, service, and libations! Crab dip flatbread was delicious! Bread pudding was a nice ending to a great meal!

Andrew C.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but we had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though we made a reservation. On top of that some of the food was so salty we had to send it back. The tuna and lamb chops were good. Vin is our go to though.

Carson F.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere was top notch. We tried several plates each being more delicious than the last. Definitely worth a visit, will be going back!

chuck t.

Yelp
Had wanted to just try somewhere new - this place is OK but priced way above their food quality. I can't say I'd make it a point to come back.

MJ P.

Yelp
Tried to add myself to the waitlist online and it said "no wait, come on in!" We arrived moments later and were told no walk ins at all tonight.

Jeannie G.

Yelp
One word: AMAZING! Had a reservation for outside but it was too hot and the host was accommodating . First timer. Cute interior. I loved seeing the bartender and chefs in action. Our server, AnnaLee, was so friendly and attentive. Food came out at just the right times. The food...Gnocchi Gratin special was a MUST ORDER. Other notables: Basil Hummus (who knew? I had to eat faster because I thought my hubby was going to devour this one), and Tuna Tartar. Best anniversary dinner in 20 years! Thank you to the staff for making it memorable.

Lesley E.

Yelp
So I have been here three times. Twice this summer and just a few days ago. The ambience is fantastic and the drinks are tasty but a bit on the small side. The honey bear is served in a cute bear glass but was way too small of a vessel for a $13 drink. The food however which used to be spectacular is not meeting the bar anymore. We ordered the combo board, the winter salad, oyster salad, the hen and the calamari. The combo board was yummy but needed one more portion of meat, cheese and fruit. Everything was under fried which made the dishes oily, soft and squishy. Needed more crisp on both the hen, oysters and the calamari. The salads were both too heavily dressed and rather large. We were expecting a side salad size and was surprised by the size. Lastly the hen that my daughter ordered was 'sad' in her words. The biscuit was incredible but the pickled veggies and hen left much to be desired. Not sure we will return for the food. But would come back for a happy hour.

Elle E.

Yelp
So many amazing dishes to order here...just not the short rib pappardelle pasta. I understand this is a small plate, but I counted 4 strands of pappardelle. Aside from the portion, the pasta was too thick, undercooked (and I really appreciate al dente pasta), and not warm. My usual cocktail, Angels and Demons, was a bit off too , so perhaps the bar and kitchen staff on a Tuesday night was different than busier night.

Tom D.

Yelp
Great place to eat, share food, socialize, and have a great martini. Make reservations on the week to ensure you don't have to wait.

Sean B.

Yelp
My partner and I come to Level for their signature Gimlet, but believe me, the food and other creative cocktails are equally exceptional! Food is always very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. We love the service and the manager, Jen, is so friendly with the guests and always pays great attention and care to offer the best experience! Doesn't matter what we get, we end up liking it. We've been eating here for a few years now and highly recommend Level.

Charman Z.

Yelp
We did my daughter's birthday celebration at Level. It wasn't enjoyable evening , the service was great. The food was great. The ambience was very relaxing and welcoming.

JEREMY G.

Yelp
We came into Level tonight as total randoms. We left complete fans. We got to spend about two hours with Isaac (upstairs bartender) as he walked us through four different drinks and three different plates. He, the food and drinks, and the restaurant, were phenomenal. This place is a must visit and will be a repeat visit for us.

Kell M.

Yelp
Wow this is even better the second visit! The gimlet here is my favorite drink I've ever had maybe ever. The grilled cauliflower steak is the perfect meat alternative, I was hesitant because I'm not a huge cauliflower person but it was very good! The old bay fries are very good as expected. And the crab appetizer was SO good. Those risotto balls were warm and delicious and cold crab chunks with that sauce was the perfect texture & flavor combo. Service is fast and friendly, will absolutely be back!

C H.

Yelp
Attended an awesome wedding reception last pm. Food, staff, amenities were top notch. All food were fresh/freshly prepared. Major compliments for crab dip, grilled veggies, roasted chicken, scallops, crabcakes, chateaubriand, mixed drinks. Staff was great,-worked as a team. Level is now top of Annapolis go-tos. Enjoy!

Brianne F.

Yelp
Great place for a special night out. A little pricey, but the food is always delicious and the drinks are so good. The Gimlet is my favorite!

Sydni L.

Yelp
I love this place! It's the perfect place to go by yourself, or with a few friends, willing to try some new twists on familiar dishes. The ambience is open and friendly. The servers are so personable! Jenna and Elaina are very accommodating, and have great customer service. The bartender Brandon, is also very friendly, and attentive. You can't go wrong here! I strongly suggest the butcher steak, and for dessert, the chocolate chip cookies with cereal milk. You're welcome!

L P.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great time at this quaint restaurant. The food and service were equally amazing. Definitely recommend!

Hansen K.

Yelp
Great food and specialty cocktails. Small plates so if you order several it can be pricey.

Cheryl J.

Yelp
Came here tonight with friends. The four was amazingly plated. We ordered the charcuterie combo board, trout salad, roasted squash, ribs, scallops, flatbread, duck confit, and the banana bread pudding. Everything was good, i didn't care for the trout salad as much. The trout was too dry. Looking forward to coming back again to try other dishes.

Diane V.

Yelp
Dined there Dec 14 22. Lots of choices. We got shrimp and grits. One of best we have had. Oyster dishes were good. Brussels crunchy and good . The hot cornish hen was delicious too. Definitely will go bk. It is loud in there Service great Diane V

Tracey D.

Yelp
We held our wedding reception here on the Friday after Christmas. It was perfect!! Throughout the process Eric and his team were amazing any time I had one of my many questions throughout the months leading up to the big day. The food was wonderful (I am always scared of buffets but this was GOOD!). We were offered a large menu to choose from for our event. We were able to bring in our own desert which we appreciated for a wedding. We rented out the upstairs and it was perfect for our 65 people. He recommended a great DJ. The best part of all - the bar was amazing! Superb service and amazing drinks! I can tell from other reviews that this place is kind of known for their specialty drinks and they were sooo good! The night was amazing and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an event. As an added perk it was definitely much more reasonably priced than other venues we looked at!

Robin G.

Yelp
Excellent service, fantastic food - fresh and flavorful. Everything we ate was amazing -- tuna tartare, bulgogi wraps, grilled oysters, tomato capers dip. The staff were warm and friendly and definitely knew their stuff! Highly recommend.

Zack S.

Yelp
This place was such a pleasant surprise. I really thoroughly enjoyed this mean and look forward to returning and trying things I didn't have a chance to try. Service was fantastic, food and drink was good and atmosphere was enjoyable. Portions were solid too for a tapas place.

Toni C.

Yelp
I had to plan a rehearsal dinner from 2,000 miles away. I chose Level because of the solid reviews, the wedding reviews and we had an opportunity to eat there one evening after I had made initial contact with Eric about using Level for our son and his bride's rehearsal dinner. I could not have been happier with how it all turned out, from the initial planning and LOTS of questions directed to Eric, to the servers the night of the event. We had many, many compliments on the food, the drinks, the service, and working with Level was just easy. We rented tablecloths and I used lavender cloths for down the middle, added battery-operated votive candles and had centerpieces by a florist in Annapolis delivered to use. The salmon, the ribs, the sliders, the chicken, the salad, the fries, the brussies, the cheesecake were all outstanding! The Charcuterie was beautiful and a great way to get everyone started. Bravo, Level. The wait staff assigned to us were hard working, very accommodating and so sweet & friendly. Next time we come, it will be to sit, relax and enjoy, again, all of your great food and the ambience. Goal achieved! One happy Mother of the Groom!!!

Christine P.

Yelp
We were really hoping to like this place given all the great reviews but unfortunately we left very disappointed. The food was sub par, not worth it. Way better options in the area.

Anthony C.

Yelp
OMG the food is awesome and Hank, our server was super nice. The honey bear cocktail was really good, but be careful, it's stronger than it seems...

Maureen V.

Yelp
Fantastic food! So unique and delicious. Convenient to downtown but with easy parking. I particularly love the Bourbonannapolis and the short rib udon. Enjoy!

Kay K.

Yelp
We stopped into Level for a quick snack and a drink, and we were not disappointed by the decision to pop-in while walking by! We got delicious and beautifully crafted cocktails, and some great tapas!

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Scallops were amazing! Alexis was our server and she was top notch. Wi tee salad was very yummy too!
