On arrival I was impressed by the beauty of the grounds, all the birds singing in the trees, the lawns and landscaping around the central dining/relaxation/bar area. Not far down a shady path was our beautiful and private tent/cabin, with polished wood floors that extended to a terrace with a beautiful view of distant hills. An occasional dik-dik shared the path, to our delight. Game drives in this region were wonderful - if you like rhinos, herds of eland and impala, oryx, zebras of all stripes, elephants and blue-necked Somali ostriches. And lions and leopards too. The landscape is impressive with rolling green/gold hills, creek valleys with tropical plants, and views of Mount Kenya in the distance. Things are very spread out -- including the camp's cabins - some would be too far for someone with bad knees - so specify if you need something close to the lodge center. Food was very good and staff were attentive and gracious. Pool area was inviting. I won't forget the post-sundown elephant "traffic jam". A surprise bush breakfast was one of many highlights -- and SO very delicious!
