The Korean Philly is a culinary masterpiece! I saw it on the menu and thought it sounded great but, it was far superior than just great. It was amazing! It’s a must try if you love Phillies and kimchi. It wasn’t too spicy, just right.

Tuesday has become our go-to night, and a big reason is Leah, our favorite server. She's the perfect blend of laid-back and attentive – always there when you need her. While the Tuesday night trivia is a definite highlight, the food is just as much of a draw. The Tuesday Special, featuring a choice of meatloaf or chicken fried chicken alongside creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, and perfectly sautéed green beans, you can't beat it.

Went for Trivia night and had the best time! Got the chicken fried chicken - seriously the best. Next time I'll ask for extra gravy but the potatoes the beans so delish. The chicken was juicy on the inside and the breading was crunchy. Trivia host was EXCEPTIONAL, funny, great mix of questions, and better yet, it was old school paper style.

We ate so fast I forgot to take pictures! First time here, unless you count 20 yrs ago. We both had one of the daily specials: chicken fried chicken, mashed, and some fabulous green beans. So good! Sat at the bar, Katie was bartending and was excellent! Definitely recommend it, and we'll be back.

Anna D was correct..."ranch" While the ranch does notably improve everything on the menu, and is good enough to raw dog as a shot (I might have done this), all the food is incredible by itself. Occasionally the fries are a little pale and flaccid, but the staff is always nice about making it right! Beer list is among the best and most diverse in the metro, and the couple cocktails I've had were delightful. You can also get Malört, which is hard to find (highly recommend...trust me bro). Have enjoyed garnishing my paycheck at Tuesday Trivia here for years, and it has become a favorite local haunt on quieter nights. I've been for New Year's, Halloween, and a couple customer appreciation nights around Christmas (super fun, they have a free Gingerbread house decorating contest). Always a relaxed environment and not *too* crowded. My only honest criticism/feedback for management (besides selling take-home bottles of Ranch) would be to consider listing prices for the beer/cocktail list. Food and drinks are starting to get really expensive as-is, and some canned beers can easily reach or exceed $10. As somebody who likes trying new things every week, it would be helpful to know what to expect (and for budgeting) without having to ask the already busy staff.

If you want an honest and true review of Lew’s you’ve come to the right place. I’ve eaten and had drinks there no less than 100 times, have had a private party there, and have tried a large majority of the menu. The grilled chicken Cobb will knock your socks off. The buffalo chicken wrap is a BANGER. The turbo tots will blow your mind. And any place you can get a Coors light in a BOOT, say less. The atmosphere at Lew’s is old school Kansas City vibes and true to the neighborhood. This is a true local bar filled with great local people. As far as service, there’s never been a server or bartender who has let us down but Jenny stands out as my favorite server I’ve had anywhere ever. In conclusion, you should go to Lew’s, you don’t regret it and you might see me there!

My food was good. Forgot to take a picture. I had the Korean Philly with the homemade mashed potatoes. Although the atmosphere was great, it was cold in the building. Also, you would think with many staff members walking past us, they would be hospitable. Nope, didn't acknowledge our presence at all. Only our waitress payed us any mind. And she was amazing. I will return.

Stopped here for lunch as we started our day of hitting up Pub Pass locations. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by both their menu options and the quality of the food. I had a roasted red pepper soup for the first time in my life and it was delicious. I also absolutely love things "blackened" and they offered both blackened shrimp tacos and a blackened chicken Caesar. Don't knock this place until you try it! Our server was also very pleasant and efficient. We went early on a Saturday and it wasn't too loud or crowded.

Stopped in here for dinner because some of my friends were looking for bar food. This is definitely bar food amplified. Our table ordered the meatloaf dinner, wings, Firecracker Shrimp, Turbo Tots, The Lew burger and the Chicken Fried Chicken. Our orders came quickly to the table. Portions were a good size and flavors were good. There is a large beer selection and several seasonal cocktails.

Our waiter was nice and attentive. We had drinks and appetizers. I would go for happy hour and late night again

Great neighborhood dive bar! Just had our second visit to Lew's. We really like the ambiance of this neighborhood bar. The food was solid and great selection of drinks. Low key place to kick back and hang out. Will be back!

I always enjoy going here watch a Chief. Love to grab some drinks and buffalo wings while watching a game. Service is always great can't complain. Always enjoy the group of people watching the game together.

A friend and I met for Happy Hour at Lew's the other day, and we had a marvelous time! Our server was Sara P, who was truly awesome. Despite being the sole server (and bartender!), Sara was friendly, welcoming and efficient. She guided us through the menu (as it was our first time visiting the establishment), gave us great recommendations on menu choices, and checked back with us frequently throughout the meal. She was genuinely interested in ensuring we had a good time, and I really appreciate her! The food was EXCELLENT--I had the Southwest Egg Rolls and my friend had the Nachos, and both of our meals were delicious! The kitchen did a nice job in preparing them quickly, and the presentation was lovely. Lew's is a homey, hospitable place; the seating is comfortable, and there's just enough space around the booths, tables, and bar so that we felt cozy without feeling closed-in. Fabulous food, fast and friendly service, and a welcoming environment--you can bet we'll be back to Lew's soon!

Great appetizer sampler, little bit loud , but not too bad , the server was quick with the food , and very caring , to check on us.

They charged me $3.00 for an ice ball for my bourbon. That is awful! I have never been charged for for one in my life. They never told me there was an additional fee for one. We won't be coming back.

We came here on for MNF. The staff was so nice and surprisingly, its hard to find bars in KC that will play the volume for games other than the Chiefs. The staff was happy to play the volume for the game we wanted. We ordered some apps to share and drinks. I have to say I was really surprised by how solid the food was. I can't believe we had never been before. Its a smaller place but makes it a great neighborhood spot. The staff was super nice and our service was great. It's a good classic bar and grill. I would def go back if we were craving that food again or had a football game we wanted to watch.

Lew"s is our favorite place when we are going to see a show at Starlight. Great food and prices! Crowd favorite is the steak or meatloaf. Burgers are good too. Large servings and a fun drink selection. One of our favorites! Friendly quick service too!

Great sports bar. Plenty of TVs, lots of beer on tap and really good food. Sara P is a terrific bartender.

The perfect place for a late night fix! I went to see a movie one evening, but to no surprise, most restaurants were closed by the time the movie was over (around 9:30-10). Lew's was open and still serving food, so I dropped by with a friend. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac N Cheese, and wow! The chicken was so tender and juicy, while the buffalo sauce was spicy and flavourful. The mac was absolutely delicious - if you're a bleu cheese fan, you'll fall in love as you can absolutely taste it. Service was also extremely quick and we were able to continue hanging out there after eating. I'm so glad Lew's offers such amazing food late, and I'll absolutely be back!

I live relatively close to Lew's so I consider it a local bar! I usually go to Lew's to watch a football or hockey game because of the fun environment and good service. The strip is juicy and the side of potatoes are delicious! Perfect place to snag a table if you are wanting to visit a bar but want a tasty meal.

The French fries we got were soggy and uncooked which is unusual because we typically don't have problems eating there

This place is great!! Great ambience; great location; great service... but the food!! Oh my. This place has amazing food in every possible way. It's big; it's badass; and it will have you wanting to return. They have my favorite sammie in town: The Big Pig. I highly recommend it. The Pork Butt Mac & Cheese is epic. And they have tator-tots which always an extra star from me. Everything h on the menu makes me go wow! Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Best part of my week is karaoke night on Wednesdays!! Large front area for smokers, nice layout for tables and bar and the restrooms are always clean! So much fun, only downside is they're very short staffed most of the time so it can be difficult getting service, but remember they're people too and doing the best they can! Tip well and enjoy your night. It's always a blast

Came back for the Friday Philly special and was blown away! The Chicken Philly is really good with a little added bbq sauce in my opinion. Lunch time is still the best time to come. Not many people and fast service! Clean place!

Definitely a dive bar. Dive bar environment, darts and shuffleboard in the back. Beers are always good and food is alright, over priced. Quality and price point is why I'm giving z3 stars. Otherwise everyone is friendly and the food is good.

I walked in @ sat down close to the end of the bar. I scanned the menu, choose what I wanted and waiting for the bartender to come over. The TWO bartenders stayed on the opposite side of the bar for several minutes, attending to one set of customers. There was even a couple that came and sat down at the bar after me; who ordered food and received food before my order was even placed. When one of the waitresses decided to acknowledge me, there was no apology, no smile, no conversation, nothing. I ordered my food from the waitress and she brought me the bill. I waited to pay until my food was ready. Plus I was having a drink @ the bar as well. I sat there for quite some time waiting for miniature pieces of chicken strips to be ready. Service was bad this time. I will try again.

I've definitely become more of a Super Fan of Lew's as a Sports Bar but also most recently as a delivery service (yes, DoorDash and Postmates and the like) standby for late night snack attacks. Lew's is still a never crowded it seems neighborhood place to grab a midday drink and they offer food specials daily which brings me to my last visit to Lew's for lunch. Having missed the ever popular Waldo Pizza Pizza! lunch buffet being it almost 2:30 me and my companion decided on Lew's and both became pleasantly surprised when the special said $4 off burgers and it happened to be $2 off craft drafts-double score! I had never had a burger at Lew's and to be honest I really don't know how this has happened because I basically live off burgers...but I immediately knew today was the day and settled on an incarnation of a breakfast burger complete with two of my favorite breakfast accompaniments, an everything bagel and a runny egg. We started with the turbo tots which are always in my delivery orders as well and travel well staying crispy and golden brown (the fried pickles not so much, better eaten at the bar and washed down with a cold beer) and devoured them just in time for our burgers to arrive. Mine was absolutely as rich and fatty and salty as it gets, the burger patty replicating the feel of a big patty of breakfast sausage, the everything bagel staying firm and not getting soggy from the meat egg and cheese and the pieces of bacon providing another layer of crunch and salt to the burger. It really was so mouthwatering and with a tummy full of tots I could only stuff half of this bad boy down but 10/10 would get again especially at a $4 discount.

Watched UFC here the other day. Food is pretty good and the service was great! This is a great place if you want to watch a game, looks like they also have a nice patio.

A fantastic neighborhood bar & grill-so reasonably priced for some yummy & filling grub. The table got plenty orders of nachos, salads, and burgers which were all solid. Personally, I had the Lew's burger (only $12!) that was packed with real lettuce (no iceberg crap), tomato, pickles, cheese, and a well cooked meaty burger. The bun was also the ideal size where it didn't overpower the flavor of the meat. Lew's has lots of great food & drink deals throughout the week which make for a returning, happy customer base. 10/10 would recommend for your next March Madness watch spot!

I have been here several times but the last time I came it was a disappointing experience. I had just moved into my apartment and brought my boyfriend here for a later dinner and drinks. It was all fine and dandy until our waitress seemed drunk (or something....). She forgot to put our food order In and upon telling us (maybe 45 minutes later) I told her don't even worrry about mine. I was over it at that point. It took forever to get drinks and refills. Otherwise, I would not have minded waiting. Her visits to our table were few and far between. Eventually our food came out, mine included. It took so long we were just ready to leave. We had worked all day and then waited forever for service. In the mean time, other waitress were running around, arms full of plates and drinks.. We thought that surely our food would be discounted or something but it wasn't. It was just a disappointing experience. **I will say: don't let this one visit/my review inhibit you from going. I have been many times and it is impeccable. The service is friendly and talkative and the food is tasty. However, I worry the service will be like this every time I go in now. :/

Great place to chill and watch a game! The nachos are very good and the considerable beer selection is a plus. Good service, good food, good vibes.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE! A menu to fit anybody's taste. We make it to KC every other month and will certainly return to Lew's for a great lunch. It's selection of beers is all one could ask for.

Cool atmosphere I guess. But there's one waitress for the whole place and it takes about 35 min to get bar food. And there's only 10 people in here right now. I have seen my waitress once. Would not recommend.

I used to frequent this place years ago and always had positive experiences. I hadn't been in a could years and was in the neighborhood so I thought I'd stop in for a beer and a late dinner. Unfortunately as soon as I walked in I was punched in the face with a foul sewer like smell that was unbearable. Needless to say we did not stick around.

Great bar for cocktails and a good time. The bartenders are always welcoming and the food is GREAT. Melissa makes a mean martini and mule.

the bouncer (al) is extremely disrespectful and was continuously coming up to my friend to "catch" her making a negative choice when she was sitting sipping her drink. extremely rude and was making our whole group feel uncomfortable. disappointing that a bar we have frequented for 8 years have been tainted by the disrespect from a new employee. this is one of our favorite bars and it's upsetting to get this treatment.

What a real disappointment. We live nearby, and are new to Waldo. We decided to try a local business and put in an early evening order yesterday on Halloween. We figured we would best the "rush". Put in order and it was done in a timely manner. We got home with the food and it went downhill from there. We had 4 basic orders, nothing special, and $53.00 later.. I had a $15.00 tenderloin sandwich. Sure it was big, but over cooked so dry, absolutely no flavor at all. Lettuce with it was wilted and had gone bad. The fries were hard and cold. We got a child's Mac and cheese for $8.00 and it was freaking Kraft! Nothing else's came with it. All the fries were cold and hard like they've been sitting there for quite a while. They had good flavor and would have been great if they had been fresh. Needless to say, we won't be back. What a ripoff.

The grapefruit margarita was weak but yummy. My 1st and last time at Lews. I made "reservations" by calling and confirming twice. Received attitude apon arrival starting they did not take reservations. We were treated like a burden rather than a customer. Crap service. Never again!!!

Got a lazy waiter today. More interested in watching football than waiting tables. Your menu is getting really tired.

After bad experiences in the past I have avoided Lew's for some time. I recently came back in to give this place another shot. I am happy to say things have changed and the people and the food were great. On my last visit, i came in right behind a peddle hopper party as well as another large group. I thought I was doomed based on prior experience. I was wrong! Our server Sade was wonderful. Made sure we always had drinks and apologized for the delay in food due to the large groups. I have no hesitation coming back or recommending Lew's again! On a side note. They have a new menu with a few new items to try. All look great and can't wait to try them.

This is only getting 2 stars because the cooks did their part. I walked into Lew's to grab my online order (Spicy Chicken Mac). Noone's at the bar so I stand and wait there. A server gets done grabbing her table's orders and asked me if I'm there for a pickup order. She finds my order and while she's walking it to me she says "Next time just come to the far side of the bar, save me a walk." Attitude is disgusting, definitely won't be patronizing them again, sucks because the mac was decent. These industry workers man...you're on your feet all day! To walk 5 steps to bring my food to me wasn't and didn't hurt you. Bye Lew's!

My girlfriend and I went to Lew's Grill and Bar on a Tuesday night for Trivia Night and really had a fun evening. We both had the chicken fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, country gravy, roll and southern style green beans. Generous portion and was very good! Will definitely be back to try their steak night or one of their burgers.

Great food and kitchen open late. Would recommend the Pig butt Mac. Large portion sizes, so easy to share. Has awesome service.

This is a neighborhood bar in every sense of the word - the TVs are always playing some local pro team's game, they have various types of seating to attract any time of engagement, and offer a ton of comfort food. I enjoy coming here for games (come early to grab a table!) or just to catch up with friends. It's one of those bars where you come more for the environment than the food, although it's not bad by any means.

Stopped in to watch the Mayweather-Paul fight because this place was one of the only running the PPV. Atmosphere was good, and there were plenty of TVs around to watch the fight. Fried pickles were thin but delicious.

I've been a longtime fan of Lew's. It's your typical neighborhood bar and grill. We came on a Saturday evening. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive. My friend got some breakfast burger and it looked AMAZING. He said it was one of the best burgers he had enjoyed in awhile!

This is my favorite bar even though I live in Independence MO I really love to go here I've had their nachos and tenderloin both are awesome and I enjoyed the food. I have gone here on several different days and always had a great experience and Mel is the best person ever always sooooo nice and caring Everytime I have came in she always talks to me and just made me always feel welcomed here and even one time I was trying to scoot my chair up and accidentally knocked my boot of beer over and it got on her and she told me it's ok don't worry about it things happen and I was upset and mad after that and she kept trying to make me feel like it wasn't a big deal ty Mel for always being sooooo nice and caring. This is why I will always come back to Lew's bar no matter what and enjoy a good night.

Subpar and overpriced - fries taste like freezer fries, Mac and cheese is flavorless. Really not worth what we paid.

We visited Lew's for trivia night on Wednesday this week and had a great time. The trivia master was funny and friendly, and he rolled with the punches all evening. Food wise, my two friends ordered beers and I ordered a wells drink. All drinks were good!

After a disappointing experience and incomplete service at Jake & Lloyds I had an errand in Waldo. I went to Pews. I ordered a drink and it arrived immediately. Then I got the delicious blackened shrimp tacos. They arrived very quickly and the server asked if I needed anything else. When I asked for my ticket and it arrived immediately. Nice to know some restaurants can do it right. I felt much better after my previous experience. Thank you Lews.

My California salmon sandwich tasted great. I liked the variety of sandwich and side options on the menu. It was nice to see "seasonal fruit" listed. The service was cheerful, friendly, and attentive. Very nice.

Surprisingly, it has been difficult for me to find good bar food in KC. The first few places I tried with decent reviews were overrated, in my opinion. However, Lew's is one of my favorites. I lived in South KC for a year and visited Waldo frequently. There are lots of restaurants nearby. Lew's is tucked in a shopping center with Aldi and CVS -- in a weird spot if you haven't been there before. Sort of away from the main Waldo strip of restaurants. Lew's is relatively small but can sit a fair amount of people. I have been here several times now and always have a good experience. The service is good, the food is above average bar food for KC, and it has not been too loud the times I have been there. Lew's is one of the first places I think of when I am craving bar food.
