Lex Restaurant

Stopped by this amazing restaurant in the Upper East Side, and it was absolutely worthwhile. The pasta and calamari were to die for!! so fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere on the summer and anytime!

We had to send back the rack of lamb, because we didn't know it was fried, so we ordered the Branzino instead. Good flavor but we prefer the skin a bit more krispy. I ordered my steak medium rare the first 25% of the steak was over cooked, but still juicy, once I got to the center part it was cooked to perfection. The fried calamari was delicious.

A traditional Italian restaurant with excellent service and good food. We sat at the outdoor heated seating, which was very comfortable but have also previously dined indoors. The indoor decor is very cozy. The seafood risotto was excellent, and the veal piccata was tender and well marinated. We ordered the special dessert for the day (apple crumble pie with ice cream) and the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. Both desserts were super yummy.

Definitely not recommending this place. The waiter was very pushy in upselling the food. Food was okay but not to come back for. It was lacking freshness and vibrance. Prices are too high for what is presented. The restroom was not clean, no towel(s) and very smelly. We had to take our own coats when we were leaving. The television(!!!!) at the bar was an annoying distraction. The courtesy to say goodbye from staff was not there. We went here because of the positive reviews. But this place has had its best days long ago…

This is an authentic Italian spot! The prices are a little higher but well worth it. They gave a little bruschetta along with the bread to start which was a nice touch. The penne alla vodka was perfectly cooked, with sauce that was creamy and clung to every noodle. The tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. Light, full of flavor and a decent portion, it was the perfect way to finish the meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, quiet, and intimate, perfect for a date night.

We had a great time and a great food with friends! Would to come again and definitely will do!

Old school traditional type restaurant with a true neighborhood feel. The room is simple and dimly lit , a bit dated but charming enough The special shrimp and ricotta ravioli in a vodka sauce was truly home made Bronzino with cannilini beans was quite delicious The quality of the food is very good ... it's just not exciting , but then sometimes you just want a quick and pleasant meal without the typical out to dinner vibe. Excellent food and service live here... Many different food options from fish, veal, beef, chicken, pastas, and all delicious & fresh. Wait staff here know the specials and how they're prepared by memory... no reading off a paper or pad. Normal size portions but truly satisfying. Full bar service making some very strong drinks, also full wine menu available. Dessert's are great as well, and they give some biscotti at the end of the meal as well. Definitely recommend

Decided to come here since it was starting to rain and there was a nice outdoor seating set up since we were out with our two dogs. The outdoor seating is decorated with plants and with ample heating lamps for the cold weather. It had a sliding door so the heat was also kept in. They had a steady flow of people for their indoor seating on a Sunday morning. The service at the outdoor seating was slow but given it's outdoor it was a little expected. They seemed to push cocktails and came to ask if we wanted anything from the bar every time they came to serve the table. We ordered the French onion which was standard. We ordered the ravioli for the table and it was a favorite flavor wise though the dough was very thick and a little hard to chew. For entrees we got the Alfredo which was very al dente, the veal was well flavored but tough and it took shaking the entire table to cut it. The ribeye was cooked to medium rare but was very thin, but the quality of meat was a bit lacking. It had a grey look in person so wasn't the most appetizing. It seems to be a popular place for locals but unfortunately will not be a place I'd crave to go again.

10/10 great experience! Food was delicious and drinks were superb. We had a nice size dinner party and our host was fabulous, informative, and quite hospitable and attentive to our large party. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I can't say enough good things about The Lex Restaurant. I was planning a birthday party with about 30 people, and I decided to make a last-minute change if I could find an alternative to the original location. Yesterday I walked into The Lex and basically said: "You're gonna think I'm crazy, but can you accommodate 30 people? tomorrow?" The manager didn't say "yes" right away, didn't say "no" right away - we went indoors and he figured it out. When we arrived this afternoon, the back part of the restaurant was set up for all of us. The wait staff and everyone was so accommodating, friendly and attentive. Everyone I invited was smiling the whole time, and everyone complimented both the food and the service. Those from the UES who didn't know The Lex all said they were so glad to have come here, and learn about another restaurant in the neighborhood. Thank you to the whole team for hosting us. It was a wonderful birthday party - maybe the best I've ever had, and largely thanks to The Lex.

Me along with friends/family have been to Lex several times. As you can see by the pictures the food looks amazing and tastes beyond amazing. Waiter was kind and cordial, always checking on us. It was a nice home environment where we were able to have a good time and have some fantastic food. Highly recommend this place for anytime of food outing. Great environment, fantastic food and gracious workers.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan - consistently delicious food and excellent service. Don't sleep on this one!

Lex is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Eggplant Parmesan, Eggplant Rolatini, and the special Shrimp and Ricotta ravioli are to die for. We're mostly vegetarian but occasionally have their wonderful seafood. The salads are complex, fresh and delicious. The entire wait staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. Over the time we have come regularly, we have come to adore them. The ambiance is warm and inviting and sometimes we sit in their very comfortable and enjoyable outdoor dining area decorated with plants. Desserts are great -- the apple tart with ice cream, brownie with ice cream, and creme brulee are our favorites. You can't go wrong here!!

My cuz suggested the nail salon next door and I wanted to surprise her with a birthday dinner afterwards and this spot couldn't have been more convenient. It had excellent reviews and it happened to be a spot she had been eyeing for awhile. The food was delicious and the service was on point. We will definitely be back to try new entrees. We had the Maryland crab cakes, seafood risotto, eggplant rotini and eggplant Parmesan on linguini. Good stuff.

We celebrated a birthday here. It was a rainy night but the outdoor area was beautiful and cozy. Two waitstaff, an Ecuadorian guy and a Brazilian guy, took excellent care of us. Both were charming , knowledgeable and just attentive enough. The food was delicious. Excellent overall and will come back.

Had brunch here and it was delicious. I had penne Al vodka with salmon. The sauce was creamy and delicious. My girlfriend had French onion soup and said it was very good. My mother had the eggplant parmigiana and it was very light and flavorful. My father had the spinach salad with grilled shrimp. Very fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back. Service was detailed and fantastic. Menu had a lot of options.

My friend and I enjoyed dinner at Lex. The waiter, I'm sure a long time regular, launched into the specials of the day. It was a little comical because there were 21 of them. I don't mean this as a negative, just an amusement. This is a nice quiet, cozy, classy kind of restaurant with very good service. I had the eggplant Parmesan. It was up there with some of the best I've had eating out.The accompanying penne was perfectly cooked. My friend had a chicken dish she enjoyed. They were accommodating to give her vegetables in place of pasta. It is hard to get used to the prices of food these days & the higher prices are notable here. I will say the portions are generous tho. When I'm up in this area, I would eat here again.

Excellent food, great service, awesome ambiance. Free Bruschetta appetizer was an unexpected gift. Chicken Caprese was great. Chocolate Mousse dessert was huge and tasty. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Italian restaurant at Lexington and 91st with outstanding service, beautifully presented food, and elegant, pretty outside and inside dining areas. Ambiance. Both inside and outside, the ambiance is wonderful. The tables are distanced and beautifully set with fresh roses, which I love, perfect for a family dinner or romantic date night. Service. Alfonso was spectacular, attentive and friendly, so eloquent and detailed describing the preparation of the specials and desserts. Water was refilled promptly, and fresh pepper and cheese were offered promptly when our entrees were served. Service was outstanding from the time we arrived until we left. Food. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and wonderfully prepared. My extra dirty martini was shaken and served at the table with giant, delicious olives, exactly how I like. - Fried calamari. This lightly battered calamari was the best we've had. - Veal special. I have never ordered veal before, but the description given by Alfonso was so tempting I could not resist, and it did not disappoint- tender and flavorful with a light sauce that was perfect with the potatoes. - Pasta dishes. The takeout we have ordered and the penne pasta dish on our in-person visit were fantastic. - Dessert. Both desserts were mouth watering delicious and beautifully presented. Definitely will return and recommend for outstanding food, service and an elegant ambiance with family or for a romantic date night.

Average food. Service was solid. The outdoor seating was cute. Portions are very small. 1 piece of bread for the table? Hardly the best $200 meal for 2 I've had.

We have never ever been disappointed with Lex restaurant. We sat outside with a lovely table setting and the waiter had his mask on. I ordered veal parmesan which was delicious. My friend ordered a combo fish dish which he's always loved. My cappuccino was perfect along with our tartufo desert. We split our dessert but we will not do that again as it keeps on shrinking over the years! Though this one was one of the best I've ever had in the City. And the chef's presentation was lovely. We could've ordered another one but we were stuffed from our dinner. A great neighborhood staple.

Nice interior and fantastic service. The food is OK. I had the octopus appetizer that was a very small portion. The main dish was good, but not great.

This place was amazing! We arrived closer to closing, but they were great about it. We also had a vegan in our party but they were also very accommodating towards that as well. We started with calamari and meatballs. I had the Bucatini pasta and it was phenomenal! The brownie with ice cream was delicious as well. Will definitely be back anytime we're in NY again.

This is my second experience I've had dining here & was another fabulous one! :) Called the day of for both dining experiences for a reservation for two, and received the time desired. This place is beautiful and TIMELESS.... has the feeling it's been there for years and it has been! The service is superb FINE DINING VIBES. The food comes out HOT and more than delicious. I LOVE that if you choose to share dishes they automatically split them in two(so convenient!). The mussels and sauce were so delightful we had to ask for a second round of bread just to soak up every last drop of the sauce. The Chicken Alfredo was so creamy, the chicken was very tender was the perfect portion! Since I'm doing dry January, womp womp I didn't get to have a martini this time around, but the last time was filled to the rim and perfect. A Friday nite around 7 was extremely busy every table full, Monday evening at 6 had the place almost to ourselves... looked like we beat the rush as when we left was more busy. I had just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to try new spots and came across a groupon, this place blew me out of the water! Highly recommend great for a date nite with friends or a romantic vibe.

The worst place I have been in the NYC, including Mc Donald's! It has the best service with the worst food! People were super nice, but The food, ugh! The pasta was uncooked, the chicken smelled and I got lemon drop for the drink which was like cheap vodka shots you get in park events! Do not recommend this place at all!

My absolute favorite UES neighborhood bar and dinner spot. Miro will make your family regulars after 2 visits. Get the whole Branzino, the other get veal scalopini pizziaola with green olives instead of capers. Let Miri pick your wine. Heaven. I miss being in NYC so much. See you when I can. Im sending some nurses there in a month. I only wish i could come and bring MrS B to have dinner with you there Victor. One day soon this year we will make it. Lex is one of those restaurants that just gets better every time my husband and I eat there. In addition to having consistently well prepared delicious Italian food with lots of great specials, it has great seating. We love the banquettes in the back, but there is also great outdoor seating and wonderful tables by the window in front. Lex's super power is the staff. Everyone from the host to the waiters and the guys who bus the tables radiates good energy. It has a warm and welcoming vibe. By our second visit, they remembered my husband's favorite wine and saved us our favorite table. Tonight, I had an amazingly good lasagna and my husband had his favorite salmon dish. I try a new dish each week. And no, I am not a friend or relative of the owners. I am writing this In appreciation for what is often so hard to find: well prepared food, comfortable seating, and truly welcoming staff!

Before going to the Guggenheim we wanted to get a bite of lunch. The food, atmosphere and service were excellent. Appetizers and Entrees were delicious with wonderful bread and they closed out the meal with an unexpected dessert cocktail on the house.

Me and my best friend/ sister went to Lex Restaurant today and I was surprised how good the food was. I had penne alla vodka with salmon and it was very delicious. The waiters were all very nice and made sure our water goblet is always full. My best friend/ sister had a sandwich brunch with crispy bacon and fries and I should give their fries two thumbs up as it Does Not taste oily at all. I can taste the potato!!!! I cannot wait to eat here again

We came here looking to try something new on the UES not expecting to have some of the best service and food around the area. It's a really cute and quiet spot perfect for a date. My boyfriend and I split the chicken parm...first of all it was great! Second of all, we split an app and the entree because we knew it would be a good amount and they split up the food without us even asking. It was the perfect amount of food for us! We are going back as soon as we can to try the dessert since we heard it was delicious. The servers/staff were so kind. Even if you have to sit outside under the heat lamps...it's completely worth it.

After walking past this restaurant so many times I finally got to give it a try. The restaurant has a great ambiance and the food is amazing! The pasta was so fresh and they serve the best bruschetta I have EVER tried. Lots of daily specials and I decided to try the ricotta stuffed artichokes which I loved. Great service, delicious food and it's the perfect spot for date night. I can't wait to eat here again.

Absolutely perfection. This place deserves a Michelin Star. The service is phenomenal -- specially from Felipe. They are friendly, professional and know the menu by memory. It's unbelievable. The food? You might ask, the best pasta I've ever tried in my life. Not even in Italy I've tried such an amazing pasta. I have had the pleasure to try arounds 6 of their plates and they are all phenomenal. My most sincere congratulations to the chef. Dessert is espectacular. Its flavor cannot be compared to anything on the market. Overall a 1000/10 restaurant. By far my favorite restaurant in the whole world.

Lex(ington St) Restaurant was a wonderful find for us and an most enjoyable experience. We noticed The "neighbor" restaurant had regulars and new customers like us. The service was very knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered of the day specials menu- one had the Branzini special accompanied different then the regular menu option and veal osso bucco with a wonderful mushroom risotto. We Loved ever bid would certainly my recommend Lex.

Cold windy walk in November down Lexington - hungry but not liking anything we saw for lunch. Then we spotted this quaint Italian bistro with outdoor seating and looking cozy inside - maybe 3 tables filled. We stepped in and received impeccable service. The food was well prepared and tasty. The review that says "I never ran out of water, but the waiter wasn't all up in my business" is a cute way to say that the service is discreet, attentive, elegant. It would be a great romantic spot for a tete a tete! Really lovely place - I recommend you give it a try. It's not a "go out of your way, the food is to die for" place but just a sweet place with wonderful service and good food.

Lex restaurant is one of the finest places to dine in NYC. They have the best Italian cuisine I've ever had and a welcoming staff that is very friendly. Definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Just ordered delivery on Seamless and it came in less than 10 minutes! Could not believe it. I got the Penne a la Vodka with chicken and a Caesar Salad and wow it was amazing! Presentation was great and everything was packed very nicely which is important in these crazy times. 10/10 will be ordering again.

I went sept 30th the day of my birthday and the service and food was amazing. Our waiter was funny . I went with my cousin and we used the groupon . I definitely will return I wanna a try their dinner and lunch menu. The store is very pricey but look at the location the Groupon makes it very affordable and Its a great small restaurants

After reading so many "ehh" reviews before, I was a bit hesitant to go since I also bought the $25 for two travelzoo deal. However, the service was not bad at all. We were promptly seated, menu was handed, bread was brought over quickly, water refills were frequent, and our order was brought timely. The food, however, was as average as it could get. We got the calamari and crabcake. The calamari was good - the crabcake was weird. It was too fried and just... weird. We then got the eggs benedict and chicken parm. The eggs benedict did NOT look appetizing at all (refer to uploaded picture). The bread part, which I would assume is the English muffin, was wayyyyyy too burnt. It just did not do it justice. The chicken parm with the linguine was very average too - perhaps getting it at olive garden would've been better. We ended with the brownie a la mode and the cheesecake. More cases of average. Brownie, without doubt, was just microwaved. I don't think I would return - but service was very prompt. The regular price is $25 per person for the 3 course brunch. I'd so rather go to the brunch for $19 per person at Le Paris few blocks over. Oh - the decor was on the interesteding side as well. I guess it could be cozy and cute, but I thought it was going through identity crisis. The ivory table cloth wanted it to be classy and refined, but the plates seemed like they belonged at a faraway bed and breakfast or some sort of picnic. The chairs belonged at an outside patio... just was very interesting.

This is the quintessential neighborhood restaurant with the white table cloths and pretty good wine selection. Their list of specials is long, everything is very fresh. Consistent quality and generous portions. The staff is friendly & they know the menu well. It's easy to get special requests to the kitchen. We visit NYC 6-8 times per year, our apartment is within walking distance, and without fail one night we dine at The Lex
