I recently did the Brewery and Distillery tour at Lexington Brewing, and it was a terrific experience. Our tour guide Lee was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was very fascinating to see and learn about the process of making the beers and bourbons that they sell. We got 4 drink tickets to sample the beers or bourbons of our choice. They had a couple of gins as well. They have so many great beers that they brew here. It was a really fun experience.

I was with a few friends that I met while stationed on my first sea duty assignment aboard the USS Dubuque LPD-8. At the time, the ship was home ported in Sasebo, Japan (about 39 years ago). It was actually our first time getting together since and we decided to tour the facility. We had an amazing experience. Van was our tour guide and he really kept it interesting and fun. We all learned quite a bit about the process and sampled the fine bourbon and ales there. Afterwards, we hit the gift shop to take home a little souvenir and spirits to remember the day. Thanks, Van! It was a great tour.

Google
Town and Branch tour was an extraordinary experience and it was just the most enjoyable tour. We learned a lot about the local history and of course making bourbon. We are from the area and have done a few tours but Dan, our tour guide, really made this the best one yet. I personally don't drink bourbon anymore and still loved this. I highly recommend this tour, from Lexington or even out of state!

Google
Nice dog friendly, outdoor seating area. We ordered two cocktails, a 5 flight of ale, and a flight of bourbon. Excellent flavors of ale, and surprisingly, I like bourbon! It was definitely a relaxed, low-key afternoon with friends. Would highly suggest!

🍺🥃 Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. – Where Irish Heritage Meets Kentucky Craft In the heart of Lexington, Kentucky, Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. is a rare gem—a unique fusion of Irish tradition and American innovation. As the only combined brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, it offers an immersive, dual experience under one roof. 🔶 A Legacy Born in Ireland Founded in 1999 by Irish entrepreneur Dr. Pearse Lyons, the company revived a brewing heritage dating back to the 1890s. Google
They called and bumped up our tour time due to the snow, so that we could still get it in! The guide was great. He was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. It’s a brewery and distillery tour which was fun! They give you 4 tokens and you can pick what you want to try (beer, bourbon, gin, etc) which is great should you not like one thing. We got to customize a bottle which is my fav thing to do.

Google
Highly recommend! Fun and interesting tour with an exceptional guide, Augustus I believe. We went in September and I forgot to do a review, but really wanted to say how great our experience was! The tastings were top-notch, and we ended up bringing home a bottle of whiskey and a couple packs of beer too. Can't wait to visit again!

Google
I’ll admit I was a little confused about the name when booking. The bourbon trail has them listed as Town Branch, and then I started receiving emails from Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. The place was fantastic. We checked in with no problems. Tom gave us our tour, and he was wonderful. We each received 4 tokens to trade in for samples. It was difficult to decide so my husband and our friends shared so everyone could taste all the things. The distillery tour was interesting, and the facilities were great. The beers were unusual and fantastic. The only one I didn’t care for was the pumpkin which I normally love. The raspberry was delicious, and I loved the cocoa. The whiskey area gave us a chance to grab some group photos. For the whiskey tasting, I didn’t care for the gin. I tried the rhubarb gin and was hoping for a local version something like the Edinburgh rhubarb but this was more like gin with a hint of rhubarb. I’m not a big fan of bourbon, but my husband really enjoyed them. His favorite was the single barrel. The highlight for me was the Sundowner. I will be enjoying some of that when it gets chilly this winter as a nice treat. After the tour, we went inside to purchase some goodies and met with one of the gentlemen in charge of the wedding side of their business. We got a private tour of the wedding facilities which have a medieval feel and are super cute. They can host medium-large groups and have a huge kitchen for catering. Ben was very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting information. Highly recommend this location!!

Yelp
Top notch tour here. Appreciate their tasting program where there is a large amount of items you can sample and tokens are provided with paid tour. They do a great job explaining what is ahead and how many samples you can get to ensure you get your top choices. Gift shop prices are competitive but you can still buy the same prices cheaper at a liquor store outside of the distillery.

Yelp
Started our bourbon trail experience here and it was fantastic We had a tour and Michael was our tour guide He was so great He is knowledgeable funny and loves his whiskey His recommendations were spot on It's a smaller distillery which is why I liked it so much Cost of tour $18 So reasonable It's a great way to spend an afternoon

Yelp
Steven was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable. The tour was informative and interesting. And the tasting was so very good.

Yelp
My family was in town vacationing from New York State and we needed to check off bourbon-tasting from our bucket-list. The cost was forty dollars for my husband and I to taste and this is among one of the few tasting rooms to allow kids on the bourbon trail. Check in was easy, and my husband and I enjoyed a beer in the back room while we waited for our tour. There is a TV and board games for the kids. Our tour guide Dan was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable; told us about the process of bourbon making, the bourbon culture in general, Lexington, history of the distillery, and pointed out all the fun "unicorns" in the structure's stonework. We were provided coins to taste different bourbons. My favorites were the rhubarb and coffee-infused. I am primarily a wine drinker. Dan even referred us to a nearby winery that we visited and loved on our trip!

Yelp
Great tour of a brewery AND distillery. You get to try both on the tour and see how they are made and hear about the history and the craft. Steven was a great tour guide; pure theatric genius and entertainment. Spaces are really beautiful and very touching history. Beers here are super delicious.

Yelp
We felt extremely unwelcome here compared to other distilleries. We paid full price for two adults and a toddler under 2 years old. Obviously the toddler couldn't sample anything, and I was pregnant so I also couldn't drink any alcohol. The guide refused to give me the 4 tokens. He said he could give me soda instead , but that never happened. Other distilleries offered non-alcoholic cocktail drinks for me and the toddler was always free, but not here. They all seemed very annoyed that we were there. They hardly acknowledged our presence, even when buying gifts from the shop. The tour was very short and boring. Our guide Nick had zero personality and unnecessary told us to get my toddler off the stairs because he was "scared he'd fall"?? There was only three steps lol We drove to Lexington just for this tour so it was very disappointing. Stick to the bigger distilleries. Makers Mark and Woodford Reserve were 100 times better and much, much friendlier.

Yelp
Lexington Brewery & Distillery caught our eye from the street. We ventured in 45 minutes before closing. The staff member wasn't able to make any cocktails but offered up beer and whiskey samples still. Our group got a whiskey flight (maple stout barrel, single barrel bourbon, and overproof four barrel), beer flight (KY Vanilla Cream Ale, Liars & Lamb 5 Yr Raspberry Brown Ale, & Tart Cherry Wheat). All beer had very good flavors. The Liars & Lamb Raspberry beer is released only 5 years and it was a fan favorite! For the whiskey, all had good favorite but my favorite was the maple stout barrel! They had a wide variety of product to purchase. It was a fun spot we happened upon and ended up being one of the beat of the day!

Yelp
We did the tour a few weeks back and overall had a nice time. It was espeically fun that the other group doing the tour with us is originally from the same small town we live in now; what a small world! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The decor in the gift shop was very nice, loved the Irish heritage theme. We chose this tour to get the best of both worlds with the beer and spirits, but unfortunately we weren't huge fans of their spirits. My husband is a big whiskey and bourbon guy and he didn't really care for any of them. I am just starting to like bourbon but this was not enjoyable. We did enjoy our beer sample and honestly wish I would've sampled more beer vs spirits, but live and learn. We also really enjoyed their Bluegrass Sundown Bourbon Coffee Liqueur®. This was delicious and we took a bottle home but wish we would've taken a few home.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Such a great tour and tasting! Without a doubt Steven was a hilarious and informative guide as we first visited the brewery then the distillery side of the operation. If you get Steven you are in for a treat- my husband and I thought he was a hoot. This unique experience offers up tasting options for both beer and spirits. A bourbon girl myself, I must admit the beers are top notch. We actually tried a flight in the visitors center prior to the tour- well worth it! Definitely recommend stopping here as part of your Lexington and/or Bourbon Trail experience.

Yelp
My first distillery tour and it was a wonderful! To start off my group was running late and they were so accommodating to move onto the next time slot. The tour guide was awesome, he was an older gentleman (I'm really bad with names lol). Super personable guy and really someone you can have a drink with. All the ales are taste awesome and the bourbon too. My favorite bourbon was the single barrel Town Branch and from him I learned why it was called single barrel haha. However my favorite drink of the night was the Bluegrass Sundown Bourbon, tasted so much like a yummy espresso martini. Overall your was awesome, the facility was really cool to check out. I would probably reccommend going during the day where you can see production happening. We were the last tour of the day. I ordered an engraved whiskey for a thanksgiving gift and unfortunately it was not ready. However the manager went out of his way to get it to my hotel first thing in morning the next day. Absolutely amazing service, recommend anyone in Lexington to check it out!

Yelp
If you love beer and/or bourbon... you need to check this place out. Makers of the original bourbon barrel ales. Now in wild cherry, tangerine, vanilla crème, milk stout and original. Then there are the bourbons and rye to sample. Why listen to me... stop in and sample , do a tour... most of all... enjoy yourself. Parking on site.

Yelp
Great tour with extremely knowledgeable tour guide, you get four tastings with your tickets. Only an hour long for the regular tour and well worth the price. If you're staying in Downtown Lexington, it's totally walkable on a nice day.

Yelp
Had a great tour experience! Our guide was knowledgeable and made it very interesting. The bourbon was ok but the beer was great. The facility is beautiful and the staff were all super kind and welcoming.

Kaitlyn T.

Yelp
Overall an awkward experience, walking in and not being acknowledged. The sample was good but felt that I had to prompt the sale. After awkwardly standing at the bar, we asked if it was possible to sit outside. The patio was a nice vibe but the service stopped me from making further purchases.

Yelp
A popular spot for bourbon and beer brewing tours. Usually not very bust. It is an easy 5 minute walk from Rupp Arena or a bit longer, but easy, from downtown.

Valerie P.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great products, friendly staff. Favorite place on our trip so far. Highly recommend to stop here. Walking distant from our hotel added bonus!

Yelp
Welcoming Staff and informative tour experience which includes both a beer and spirits option. Enjoyed learning about the history and will encourage others to try when in the area.

Yelp
Always been a fan of this brewery. Great choices of beers . I always try to stop by when visiting Lexington.

Yelp
The best tour we went on this weekend! Our tour guide Daniel was informative, friendly, entertaining and helpful. We had a great time and conversation throughout the tour. I would totally recommend visiting!

Yelp
I really wanted to visit a distillery while in town for work. I was told Lexington Brewing & Distillery is the place to start! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with 1 other gentlemen and it made it kind of feel like a personal tour. We had great conversations about our favorite bourbons and whiskeys. All the while learning about the history of Lexington Brewing & Distillery.

Yelp
Recently, I had a customer visit Lexington for a project close-out meeting. I wanted to take them to lunch and then take them to something in Lexington to showcase the city. Well, Keeneland was a no-go. Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Jim Beam, etc., were all too far for this customer. Again, I wanted to show Lexington, not another city. I looked at West Sixth Brewing, but they were only open Friday and Saturday. So, I selected the Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company. Since the customer is a German company, I suspected they had an excellent palate for bourbon and beer. That gamble paid off, and the customer was completely blown away. Here is a company that is not only on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail but also makes beer; most Germans love beer. Win-Win. Our guide was thorough in his history of Lexington, the Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company, and the making of bourbon and beer. Plus, since I had management with me, it gave them another solid option for other customers visiting Lexington. On a side note, several of our team made purchases in their gift shop: hats, shirts, and of course, beer and bourbon. Thank you so much, Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.

Yelp
Beyond the welcoming atmosphere, the tour was informative and not rushed. We were able to pause and have some beer tastings and the onto the hard stuff. It is so cool to see the workings of a visionary. Stocked up but will definitely be back.

Yelp
Derek was a rockstar of a tour guide!!! Sarah was amazing with helping serve samplings of everything! Loved that we stopped by this amazing place! Loved that the distillery is still family owned and operated and has such a great history! Derek was super knowledgeable and has some great stories to tell!

Kathy C.

Yelp
We toured on a cold day in January. Both the brewing and distilling facilities were so interesting and our tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. We had a great time and plan to return. Highly recommend it.

Gwen L.

Yelp
An amazing brewery and distillery tour! We booked this very last minute while in the area on a day that turned out to be cold and rainy. They were incredibly accommodating! Each tour has up to 14 people. You get tokens and can use them to try beer or bourbon! Both were delicious. They also have rhubarb gin which was wonderfully delicious! There is also a bar in the gift shop that you can get a hand crafted cocktails or a beer at before or after the tour! You can take these drinks on the tour with you as well which was a definite perk. Mike, our tour guide, was super knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Such a fun place to visit! We were excited to get a 2-in-1 tour of the brewery and distillery. You get 4 "chips" and get to use 1 chip per tasting and you get a lot of choices between the beer and liquors. We shared ours and got to try 3 beers and 5 liquors (bourbon/gin/moonshine). We got an extra tasting each of their Irish cream. It was so good! This was the first time on the Bourbon Trail I had seen an actual Pot Still and they were so cool to see. They had fun artwork all around and I would love to come back again for a drink.

Yelp
Stopped in for a tasting. Solid service. Heavy pours. Tasty spirits. Didn't do the tour but our server was knowledgeable and engaging. Fun stop.

Yelp
What an awesome tour and tasting. Lovely outdoor patio. Bluegrass sundown is my favorite. I also walked aw Au with the rhubarb gin and a 4 pack of beer. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining . Highly recommend this stop .

Yelp
This is a very nice distillery AND brewery. Tour starts at 10 am every hour. Lasted about 1 hour comes with tasting of beers AND whiskey AND Bourbon. Like Boyd (Best Tour Guide Ever) said "All Bourbons are Whiskeys but not all whiskeys are Bourbons" And Daniel gave the best lunch recommendation at Smithtown
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Really fun tour. Use your coins/tokens wisely because you only get a few. Enjoyed everything I tasted. Only downside was the drinks that you can buy at the bar are not very good and the bar was not well stocked with the proper garnishes.
google avatar

Sheri M.

Yelp
What a fabulous place to hang outside with your dogs. They were so accommodating and appreciated our dogs coming with us!

Kim M.

Yelp
Dan gave us a great tour. The beer, one of my husband's favorites, had many other styles to taste. The bourbon was outstanding. We had prepurchased a bottle for a friend, bought another bottle for a friend, and one for ourselves. We will be back with friends!
google avatar

Ross S.

Yelp
Van was a great tour guide and was informative and fun. We stayed for a little while after the tour for some drinks and purchases and everyone in the store/bar were friendly and provided great service. Very worth stopping for the tour and some outstanding distilled spirits!!!

Brittany T.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, and they allowed us to bring our dog. I would recommend to couples and small groups!

Yelp
My daughter and I were touring UK when we decided to drop in for a tour. Dan was our tour guide and he really made it such an enjoyable experience. Every bourbon I tried was delicious! I ended up buying myself some and some for friends and family. These guys really know what they're doing. If you're in Lexington, it's a place you have to try out.

Yelp
Bourbon AND beer? Do go on. I'm listening. A day or two before Christmas, my best friends and my boyfriend and I had a little brewery and distillery tour. This took us to Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. We had booked our tour online a week or so in advance. There is a generous parking lot around behind the building, then you enter the front of the gift shop to check in. We are nothing if not punctual, so we only had a short time to wait before it started. Each person touring (over 21 that is) gets several wooden tokens, which they can trade in for the beer or bourbon samples they want along the way. The tour starts with the brewery portion of the facility. It isn't big, it isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. Then you move to a small bar-like room where you get your first go at some samples. But don't spend all your tokens in one place! The harder stuff is yet to come! After that, you go across the way to the distillery side. Again, it isn't the biggest facility on the planet. But though they are small, they are mighty. I didn't make the connection until this day that this is where Town Branch Bourbon is made! Then you are brought to the bourbon bar for the last chance to use your tokens for tasting samples. The most interesting thing they have is the Kentucky Sundown concentrated coffee liquor. Mixed with hot water and some heavy cream and....WOW, what a delicious concoction! Also delicious is their single barrel reserve bourbon! My boyfriend surprised me by buying us a bottle of that to bring home with us. Our tour guides were wonderful. The beer and bourbon were delicious. It is absolutely worth considering adding to your own personal bourbon trail or ale trail!

Dan C.

Yelp
Tom was an awesome tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the great things they are doing at Lexington Brewing & Distilling. We were very impressed with the diversity in their offerings and the quality at which these products are produced. Needless to say we spent way more in the gift shop after the tour than we had planned, even with the reasonably priced product line. We loved the Town Branch Rye Whiskey, Sherry Cask Irish Whiskey, Rhubarb Gin, and Barrel Aged Milk Stout Beer options the most!

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Great tour. Interesting to visit a distillery that is also a brewery. Very informative. The spirits were excellent, the Irish Whiskey a favorite. The whole distillery, gift shop, and tasting area were awesome. Easy to get to in the heart of Lexington. A must see.

Yelp
My wife, dad, and I took an amazing and informative tour at the Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. yesterday. Derek was our guide, and if you have a choice, ask for him! So much information and super fun.

Yelp
There is a unique story about this place. In 2012 I came here on business and learned about this beer called "Kentucky Bourbon" and enjoyed the beer a lot. Only to find out that they only offered it in Kentucky only. Later I learned that they began offering it in Ohio and would search for it when in Ohio. But since then it's been widely offered around the Pittsburgh, PA area. When I arrived and seen the logo of the brewery, I'm like this is that place. I had no clue that's where I was going. I was very excited to have the opportunity. What I learned is that if you do not have a tour of the brewery or distillery, trying some beer or whiskey is insanely difficult. When we arrived at the guest location. I said can I sample beer and they said we have what is available on the board. Mainly everything was in a bottle, a bit of a turn off. Then in addition, they had 4 people in the front working, small bar, and I was ignored by everyone except one person. I asked if I could mix beer and whiskey together and she said yes. Once I started to order she said it had to be separate. It is $20 for 4 tastings, which is expensive in my book. I gave this review 4 of 5 because of the service I thought was terrible and could use some training to improve the process. In addition, providing a more happier feel to what you're doing and letting the customer know where they can seat to try their beer or whiskey. The only real good part was sitting down and sampling the beers. I thought they were all outstanding. I can't wait to get some Kentucky beer locally again. My recommendation, improve the customer service experience.

Yelp
This was a great tour! Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was cool and the history of the brewery/distillery was interesting. Of course the best part was the tasting. The Kolch was my favorite beer.

Martavious W.

Yelp
Outstanding tour- we had a great time. Tom was the guide and was really good, plus the beers and bourbons /gins were great. A must do, very cheaply priced as far as tours go and you'll be glad you did it

David B.

Yelp
The tour was amazing. Tom did a great job. Learned alot on this tour. There bourbons was very good. I opted for the custom engraving, it was absolutely stunning. This is a must do on the bourbon trail.

Yelp
Right in the heart of Lexington is this awesome brewery and distillery. We tried samples of what they make and some are for seasoned drinkers and some are for the newer ones. I will say that their Bourbon was as smooth as the glass it was poured in. These folks hosted us, Rev Rally, with open arms and excitement. One of the best tours I've been on and experienced. So I would like to thank everyone who helped this come together and made this possible

Yelp
We were visiting Lexington for my nephews wedding this past weekend. We extended our stay so we could partake in some of the bourbon tours and distilleries! The Lexington Brewing Company was an amazing brewery and distillery! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and felt welcomed. It was a very clean distillery. We had a drink of the Town Branch Kentucky Bourbon before we started our tour! It was so good!! Derek was our tour guide, and he did a fantastic job telling the history of the distillery. It was very interesting! He led us through the making of the bourbon and all the barrels, and the process for brewing the beer and ales. We received tokens to taste the brews in a special tasting room, and at the end of the tour, we tasted various bourbons. The expresso bourbon with whipped cream on top, was really tasty. Sarah was assisting Derek with the tour, and she was very friendly with a great personality. They did a great job!! We had a great time!!

The tour guide Tom is very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the experience very educational and fun. Recommend this place Greatly

Yelp
I was in Lexington on business and had a few hours free. After walking all around the downtown area and the University of Kentucky campus I stopped into the visitor center to see what else they would recommend. The suggested I come do the tour. So I walked over after looking at their website. The website said the tours for the day were sold out but when I called they said there were still places available for walk ins. I ended up jumping into a tour that had started ten minutes before I got there with the assurance that I could come back after the tour and watch the video I missed. First stop is the brewery. Our guide was a Jeff and he did a great job explaining the process to us. After you learn about the brewery they take you into a tap room where you can try some of the beer. Included in the $12 price tag are four tokens for samples. This is for the beer and the hard alcohol. There were many different types of beer to choose from. Even some made with coffee and another that had a vanilla taste to it. After touring the brewery you go over to the distillery and learn about that process. Then you have the ability to try whiskey, bourbon, gin, or rum. You finish out your tour with a sweet coffee infused sweet drink. I'm glad I stopped in. It was a pleasant way to spend some time.
