We had a great experience here before our show. The food, drinks and service were all fantastic and the space is gorgeous.

I went here once before last year and had this amazing, expert level Japanese noodle dish. It wasn’t on the menu this time when I went to see Hamilton but I had something just as amazing. I had the house made bologna sandwich. 🥪 First of all, I can’t believe these people are making their own bologna. Second of all I can’t believe how absolutely delicious it was. I’m already looking forward to coming back next year. Everything I’ve tried here has been exceptional. If you’re going to a show at The Kentucky Center you should really try out their restaurant. It’s really one of my favorite places to eat when I have the opportunity. Job well done, Scene!

We participated in The Chef’s Table event. The ad said “All you care to have”, but when we arrived the food was pre-portioned in appetizer sized portions (fish was literally one bite!) and there were signs that you were only allowed one. What really makes that a shame is that the little that was on the plate was really delicious. It certainly was not worth the $30 per person.

I liked it! A bit pricey for some items, but spot on for others. I had the fish special which was an interesting salmon dish. $28 and worth it! My husband had the burger $17. Not a good choice. We had the appetizer skewers $13 which were delicious and the chocolate tahini cake $11 which really surprised us flavor wise. We did not leave feeling overly full which is good since we were there for the show. I highly recommend it for one more reason. Location. It makes getting to the theatre so much easier!!!

Food was absolutely amazing. Hands down best restaurant I have been to in Louisville. Perfect setting for a dinner before a show at the always exceptional Kentucky Center for the Arts. Love it so very much. Keep up the great work and keep raising the bar!

This place has some incredibly lame food. Of course it is Louisville Kentucky so you need to lower your standards a lot. Taste like peanut butter and noodles and they are calling it Indonesian. It’s one of those places you try once then make a promise to yourself to never step foot back in.

This was my second time at the Lexus Lounge and I will continue to go there before every play it is that good. Desserts are awesome as well.

Yelp
I am always happy the Scene exists every time we are running lat for a show but want dinner before but I don't think I'd go any other time. It's so convenient though! The food is good but nothing to rave home about. I got the French dip and my boyfriend got the burger sliders. Both were good size portions and we were satisfied with the food. What the Scene is doing right is offering quick service in a nice atmosphere before shows. You order at the bar and the food comes to your table pretty quickly. I think we waited around 10 minutes for it. The only real complaint is the table situation. We ordered around 6:45 for a 7:30 show and there were no open tables. Many people linger and drink after eating taking up table space. Luckily Another couple offered to share their table with us. All all I will probably go back before another show but there's so many other places in Lou to choose from.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I attended for a networking event and it was so sleek and incredible. It's a beautiful and elegant place, that's for sure. I didn't see a show, but the bar and lounge area was such a cool spot to enjoy company. The bar staff was so friendly and enjoyable, and so helpful too! The food? Phenomenal. Honestly I don't even know what I ate but it was so good! I do hope to go back for an actual show to get the full experience!

Yelp
We stopped in for a pre-show drink before the Craig Ferguson show. It was my first time here not for a special, private event. They have a surprisingly decent list of wine and beer. And nice list of cocktails to chose from, all of which are $10. And there are some tasty sounding food options as well! They have you covered, pre-show. If you get there early enough, that is. You order at the bar. If you are getting food, you get a number to bring back to your table and someone will deliver your food to you. If you are getting a drink, you wait at the register to get your drink. If you are ordering a cocktail, they aren't suuuper complicated, but they do take more time to make. So be patient. We had already gotten dinner somewhere else, and were just killing time before the show started. So drinks were on our menu. I got the cherry almond sour. Absolutely delicious, dangerously drinkable, and hard for me to stop after one. But I did (and switched to a disappointing rose wine which was expected because I just got the cheapest thing to follow up with). The Fella shocked me and got a mai tai! He mentioned that it was generously strong and also very tasty! Scene gets understandably and obviously busy prior to performances. If you are dead set on dining here pre-show, get here early to secure a table (as they are first come, first serve) and to give time for your food order to arrive as well as time for a potential second round. The lines can get long and take some time. And this was noted on a chilly Tuesday night...not the most attended of evenings for Kentucky Center performances. Be patient and give yourself enough time to properly enjoy your visit.

Yelp
Am I glad this place exists? Sure. It's a completely do-able spot for someone seeing a show at the Center. Would I ever recommend this place? Probably not. Are the food and drinks good? Absolutely. It's a good spot for people that don't do much in the city. They go to a show... why not grab dinner and/or a drink there? We all know those people that don't do a lot of things in the city. Sometimes those people can't even muster up the motivation to go to the restaurant on the corner half a mile away. I love being lazy too so I know how that is. My point is that if people are gaining motivation to visit the Center for a show, why not just expel some of your traveling energy on going to another restaurant before your show at the Center? The food I've had from here was fine. The drinks aren't anything to brag about but they do tend to be strong for an unusually cheaper than usual cocktail in this city. The employees are friendly enough. I do have an issue with the queue here. Each time I've been, all of the people there seem to not know where to stand or line up at. It's chaos that I feel is unnecessary. I think this restaurant could benefit from someone at the front seating people. Maybe offer up reservations before a show like Actor's does with Milkwood. One other thing to note is that the dining area is long. With that, it seems like there's a lot of wasted space that they aren't taking advantage of. It could definitely be set up differently. The problem with the unnecessary chaos is that you have a bunch of people stirring around. That doesn't set the mood for a peaceful dinner. And if we're irritable from a bad meal experience, how are us Yelpers supposed to enjoy a show? From the times I've been... if I'm going to a show, I would actively avoid this place and try one of the many other great restaurants in our city. It's a shame really because I love the name of this place. And... SCENE!

Yelp
The Kentucky Center is home to many wonderful touring and local productions in Louisville, and the Scene is the perfect place for a pre-show, mid-show, and post-show pit stop. In here you can grab a bite, a drink, or to simply just lounge around. I've been here for just about all of those occasions, and enjoy being able to have it while visiting the Center. I've had a burger and a few drinks, and everything is pretty much moderately priced and good. They also have some really comfy couches! It's a nice place to enjoy yourself before/after enjoying the show.

Yelp
The Mister and I recently stopped into Scene for a pre-show drink and appetizer before attending a smaller show at the Kentucky Center for The Arts Bomhard Theater. We arrived just as they opened so seating was readily available. The bar has a decent liquor and beer selection and a small, but well-rounded wine offering. Our server, Josh, was amazing and made the experience so very pleasant! We had eaten dinner earlier and opted for a small appetizer and drinks. The appetizer was okay, nothing outstanding, and for $13 I expected more (3 meatballs). Drink prices were typical for the area. The atmosphere is nice, with the reflection of city lights through the windows (one side of the long dining room). The restroom was clean and well-maintained. The Scene is certainly convenient when seeing a show, and fine for pre-show drinks. However if recommending a place to dine prior to a show, I would likely opt for one of the nearby restaurants.

Yelp
Great little cocktail bar at the KY Center for Performing Arts. A perfect place to grab a drink and a bite before a play or concert (one stop parking garage below for both concert hall and bar). They opened @ 6PM. We arrived incredibly early (6:20) for a comedy act at 8 PM (who can judge the traffic from Middletown to downtown Louisville). Needless to say we had our choice of seats. You'd best arrive early, however, if it's an event high in demand such as a broadway musical/play. The servers were cordial and came around often to check on us. We split a meatball appetizer that was excellent. I coveted the chicken potpies that I saw being distributed to others. The menu also features burgers and salads that looked great. The bar has a great view of downtown Louisville with some interesting images that flash and reflect on the glass windows and walls. They even take reservations. Nice and convenient.

Yelp
This is a great option before seeing a show if you're short on time or you don't feel like walking in the rain to get to other restaurants nearby. They do not have table service, you order at the bar. Considering this is a theatre restaurant, it's really awesome, and they have a good variety. I love their crab cakes, nachos, and beer cheese. Their burgers are great and always cooked well, and I their black bean and quinoa patty was excellent.

Yelp
This food will blow you away. This venue is amazing. If you are in Louisville you owe it to yourself to experience this place.

Yelp
This isn't where you want but I go for dinner before a show. All they have is cold food. $65 for 3 people to get 3 cold slider sandwiches each with 1 slice of deli meat, cheese, huge bun, and a $10 bourbon and coke a piece. I took the bread off and ate the deli meat and cheese since the bun was terrible. Look for somewhere to eat before a show.

Yelp
A nice place to have a drink or a bite before (or after) seeing a show at the KCA. Stylishly adorned, spacious, and comfortable, with an upscale bar food menu and decent drink selection. Not unlike a bistro in a nicer hotel (with prices to match, but fair for what it is).

Yelp
Get there early for a seat before the show. The food is always good, but a little pricey.

Yelp
Very convenient option if you are seeing a show at KY Center. Simple menu, the food was pretty good, and staff was friendly. The prices were a bit high for what it was but you are totally paying for convenience.

Yelp
Had dinner before Aladdin and service was awful. After we stood in line to order both food and drinks the bartender said he needed one minute to take care of something. Fiveminutes later we saw him walk out of restaurant. When I complained the kind bartender next to ours took care of us. 45 minutes later we still hadn't received our food. I stopped someone they checked on it and said it will be a minute. Fifteen minutes later still no food, once again complained and finally got food with 20 minutes to make the play. Saw other friends who had the issue getting their food. I do realize it was a busy night but I imagine most nights there is a play it is busy If the scene can't handle it, they shouldn't be in this business.

Yelp
Was very busy and they were seriously understaffed. We waited over an hour to be told one of the items we ordered had sold out. Not recommending. Wanted to love it after its new opening. Seriously disappointed.

Yelp
Went to nutcracker last night. Had a drink and snack here before hand. Only 3 stars but could have been 4 easily but service was just ok. Most people know by reading my stuff that service is huge. You place order at bar for food and drink. Menu is limited for food. Had charcuterie which was fairly tasty except one meat, maybe venison. Was very tough and gamey. Cheese and fruit were good. Seating is first come first serve. We sat on a nice couch with table overlooking main st. Back to service. As I was perusing menu, bartender said "SIR, SIR, SIR!" In a loud voice. I said I'm not ready to order...lol. But guy seemed to be eager to rush me along. I didn't like this type of service. Would like to have more time. Anyway. Would probably give it another try next time we are there which is next month. Also I do not like rheingeist IPA. Lol

Yelp
We stopped in before Les Mis for a drink and a snack. Mini cheddar burgers with truffle fries were perfect.

Yelp
Great place for a drink before a show. Food is decent, a little pricey, but extremely convenient.

Yelp
Went here for a date night. Absolutely fabulous! Our meals were delicious. I highly recommend the filet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Let them know where you're sitting and they'll keep your drinks full and allow you to relax until it's time to take your seats. Very chill environment reserve your table at least 2 weeks ahead of time for seamless experience.

Eric E.

Yelp
The food was delicious... However I would suggest more easier to eat menu. For example the large burger would be better served as three sliders. Same thing could be done with all the sandwiches. Also would love to see more low tables as many of the customers at the Kentucky center are elderly and don't want to sit at high top tables.

Rudy M.

Yelp
My wife and I were at Scene last night for their opening night. Focus is on cocktails and small plate meals for people attending events at The Kentucky Center. The drinks were good, the wine and beer selections small but diverse, and the food was first rate. My wife had the flat bread pizza of the day and I had the house cheeseburger -- both were quite good. We saw several people ordering the crab cakes and looked good as well. Service is "order at the bar" and food brought to your table, so it is a fairly quick way to get a pre-show bite to eat. It was a fun place to get a pre-theater meal, and we'll look forward to returning soon.
