L'Huitrier Pie

"In this famous wine-growing village, the enthusiasm and talent of the young owners, Camille and Soufiane, take us on a journey over the course of the meal. Appealing dishes featuring carefully selected ingredients (heirloom tomatoes from the South-West, raspberries, garden verbena and burrata; just-seared John Dory, Coco de Paimpol beans). In fine weather, you can sit out in the pretty little courtyard." - Michelin Inspector

Lunch at L’Huitrier Pie was epic! There is no air conditioning, so I recommend their beautiful outdoor patio. The tasting menu was great. Each course was delicious with multiple taste combinations. At the same time, all dishes arrived looking more like art than food. What a great experience! They paced each course well, giving us enough time to reflect on the art and tastes of each part of each course, while not having us wait too long between courses. They also kept a consistent pacing throughout our lunch. If you have another afternoon appointment, be sure to inform your host so they can advise you on which menu will fit in your schedule.

From our arrival where we were offered a nice table on the terrace, to the moment we left, we have been enchanted by this restaurant. The staff is just so nice, the cuisine of this lovely duo is a real discovery. So much work gets into each plate. One can feel they really want to please their guests and share their unique vision of gastronomy. Esthetically beautiful and so well realised, each dish is a surprise for the eye and for the palate. A very good one indeed! 😋 And considering the work in the kitchen, the menu we selected at 69 euro, was pretty reasonable. The experience is full of lovely moments I wish to try again soon. Thank you for your warm welcome and kindness. I couldn't have expected a better place to celebrate my birthday 👍🙂

Really an absolutely fantastic experience! The restaurant is located in one of the little streets of Saint Emilion, inside one of the typical sandstone buildings. After being greeted by the friendly staff, we went for the „Degustation“ menu, with 5 courses - and those 5 courses did not disappoint! You are being taken on a food journey, where the chefs combine classics with modern kitchen, conventional with unconventional, to create a visually impressive and tasteful experience. Paired with wine, this created an everlasting memory. Not to forget, the staff was warm, welcoming and funny, adding to the overall positive impression. We celebrated a birthday there, and will be happy to come back to dine here again. Thank you!

We came here late May for dinner on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was rather full. We opted for the Emotion tasting menu. The price is reasonable, however we waited quite a bit in between courses. The preparation felt rushed and not as refined as the picture. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day where they are short on staff. The amuse bouche and deserts were quite innovative.

We were traveling in France and my confirmation for our reservation was done late at night prior to our visit on the next day. My request was that we had to leave before 150pm to join a guided tour. I was surprised that Restaurant staff did review on my comments and advised us that we could only order the 3 courses lunch as our time was limited. Food was exceptionally excellent especially the dessert. I would recommend when you pay a visit to Saint emilion you should go to this restaurant. Also, I think this restaurant should have 1 Michelin star !!!

This was one of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had. The servers were so welcoming and nice - we had no reservation and had to leave at a specific time for a meeting, and they helped make sure we fit everything in. All the dishes were unique and delicious, and there were some extra surprises thrown in too. The oysters (which I usually don’t even like) were a highlight. Overall was an incredible experience, would highly recommend. Shoutout to the staff for making our meal really special!

WOW! A surprising find in village of St Emillion. Each dish was more amazing than the next. Cannot say enough about how good the experience was.

Had a lovely meal here! The food was tasty, and I really appreciated that they were able to adapt dishes to suit my lactose intolerance. The strawberry dessert was absolutely the highlight—so fresh and delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The only downsides were the atmosphere, which felt a bit dull, and the room was quite warm. Try to get a table outside rather. Still, a nice experience overall!

Yelp
Food - 5+ Service - 5 Ambiance - 4 Price quality ratio : 5 This has been one one my favorite experiences not only in Bordeaux but in France overall. The place is Michelin starred. The quality, presentation, service and price are beyond unbeatable. If you are visiting the Bordeaux wine region, don't doubt to come to this place, you will thank me :). Enjoy!

Yelp
Very mediocre experience. Opted for the 3 course lunch menu. There was no explanation of the dishes that came out without us asking. I also got a bad piece of fish that I had to send back. There was very little apology given. The rest of the food was good. So many better restaurants in the area

Yelp
Beautiful little restaurant nestled in the heart of St Emilion. The outdoor terraces are beautiful with vines full of (real) grapes flanking the perimeter. We were first presented with a beautiful beat gazpacho as an amuze - it was very well prepared. Staff was very nice and welcoming. For the main course we had the air fish of the day which was very well prepared (both of them). And entered the meal with two lovely desserts. Overall very good impression good service and price / quality / value level was adequate! Although deserts took a very long time to arrive it was worth every minutes of waiting!

Yelp
Excellent set menu (although if you want to have the full tasting menu you need to book in advance). The smaller set menu (which doesn't require advanced booking) offered great variety. Sommelier is excellent and helped us with the most amazing pairings.

Yelp
Lunch at this little place was perfection. We started with an amuse bouche of bacon, black beans and cream, a basket of bread and cold unsalted butter. My husband had the special for entree and plat. Entree was fresh pan-fried scallops with parsnip purée and tiny roasted peppers. Everything looked and tasted great. He also had the beef steak special which was aged and treated to an almost Indian-spiced rub. I ordered a la carte and had the quail, which ended up being served inside two crispy spring rolls and a side salad. We each had a glass of local red (of course) followed by a chocolate dessert for the husband and espresso for both of us. We were seated right away, the waitstaff was moderately attentive and she even let me take a photo of the wine label even though it was clear she thought I was weird. Would totally eat here again. The only thing I didn't like was the price - a bit spendy for lunch - but I knew that going into it and had a great meal.

Yelp
Beautiful dinner experience! Our first night in St Emilion, l'Huitrier Pie was recommended to us by our B & B hosts. Wait staff spoke English, which was very helpful. We had foie gras, oysters, cod & sea bass. Dessert was a fantastic warm caramel and chocolate mousse. Delicious!
