It's beautiful. The breeze thru the oak trees is refreshing. The acoustics are amazing. The staff are inviting and interactive. Very helpful and fun. If you have the opportunity to see a performance there, I suggest you do it!

Google
This is a unique venue. Very small so every seat is pretty much a good one, with a few exceptions: Forget paying more for the front section because people just walk down to the stage and dance, so you can NOT see anything from the first 10-15 rows unless you stand up the whole time. It's a fun atmosphere and if you're into dancing then join the crowd. But don't pay for premium seats thinking you're going to have a better view, you won't see anything. Not trying to be negative because overall it is a fun venue and we had a great time. Just wish I had known this stuff before we booked our seats. When we went to a concert there it was sprinkling rain. It was so light you wouldn't even really get wet except for the fact that the netting over the seats collect the water and unfortunately our seat was one of the very many that has a constant drip directly on you and your seat. Many people had to vacate their seats or get wet. Again, if you go down to dance by the stage it's not a big issue, but if you want to enjoy sitting in your seat, that makes it very unpleasant. If you are staying in Ojai I recommend hitting a show here. Even though most are smaller or less known performers, the venue makes it a great experience. Clearly most of the attendees are locals as they all seem to know each other. They were very friendly and a pleasant crowd. There were one or two vendor booths with some very basic food including hot dogs and baked goods. There is also a beer and wine Booth with typically High Venue pricing. But at least it's on site and available.

We'd heard about The Libby Bowl, but never realized how cool the vibe is there ... until last night! It was the BEST place to hear live music and we're already planning out the concerts we want to see there next. It's such a magical place. It's small, but not too small. Love, Love, Love this place.

Google
Great little Amphitheatre. Had a great time here. Buy seats in the middle. There is a large floor in front of the stage where fans can stand or dance. Won't hurt to bring a large purse, wink wink, with your favorite beverages. Onsite beverages are $14 a pop. Enjoy yourself

Could there be a more perfect place for an outdoor concert. Intimate and serene. Great sound and atmosphere. Can’t wait for the next show.

Intimate venue, good sound. Crowd control fair. Bathrooms not close.

Yelp
We visited Libbey Bowl for the first time to see one of our favorite bands, the legendary THIEVERY CORPORATION. The venue was interestingly intimate. The layout reminded me of Santa Barbara County bowl, only smaller. The people were Uber chill & the sound system was top tier! especially during the acoustic guitar performances! They had $5.00 mini tacos (chicken & beef) w fabulous deep fried potato tacos . We tried them all . The beer & mixed drinks also flowed throughout the nights fun, a bit pricey, but that's expected at live venues. The staff was great, as was the experience. Wouldn't mind coming back. Thanks!!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to see ole Billy Blue Eyes (Bill Burr) was going to be so close to my hometown performing in little Ojai and immediately grabbed tickets. The venue was so beautiful! It's small and quaint and not a bad seat in the house. The small outdoor amphitheater definitely became one of my favorites. They had a great little food truck with a good variety of reasonably priced food, I had good interactions with the venue staff and the show was so good! Bill's opener, Dean Delray was hilarious and Bill was hilarious Bill. I hope to see more shows like this in the future.

Yelp
Gin Blossoms Concert was a joke .. the 1st band from SB was good and after they opened it took sound over an hour and 15 minutes and the sound still was Extremely Loud, Squelched at a high pitch off and on and for periods of time, the sound man was horrible and The Canyon allowed this fiasco to happen. I have seen many concerts at Libby but this was the first put on by The Canyon and it was Horrible! We left after the 3rd song ...Concert start time 7pm...Gin Blossoms came on at 8 25 ..friggin ridiculous! I am done with The Canyon and I am a regular ticket purchaser ... I bring groups of people and this won't be happening again! Gin Blossoms Concert was a bust for us!!! So disappointing after spending over 350.00 for 5th row center seats!

Yelp
In all the years that I have visited Ojai, this was the first time I have attended a concert at the Libbey Bowl. What a great venue. We saw the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and went on the recommend of a friend who also attended the concert. Located at the far end of Libbey Park , the concert venue is canopied by large majestic trees which shades the landscape surrounding the seating area covered by a large awning. There was a single food truck and a separate booth for refreshments. My only criticism is that they didn't have a couple more food trucks for some variety. Otherwise, the experience was great. The employees or volunteers were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend going to a concert or event there again.

Yelp
Beautiful venue! Small, intimate with good viewing. We were in the back and still had a good view of the stage. Great sound. I was totally mesmerized by Judy Collin's performance.

Yelp
Loved the park concert vibe. Everyone was nice. The venue was peaceful and enjoyed it time!

Yelp
Such a beautiful place. The best little venue I've been to in a long time. The husband and I drove 2 hours to see this band perform. And we are so glad we did. This place had great acoustics, which made the band sound amazing, I'm always iffy about outdoor venues because it won't capture the amazingness of the music but this wasn't an issue here. I love your town of ojai, only wish that Uber and Lyft ran late, because we were stranded looking for a ride after the concert and our hotel was 5 miles away. I will be coming back to the libbey especially since they have such great shows coming up. Queen nation next week, I'll be back!

Yelp
Excellent customer service! Gorgeous ambiance! Amber ensured that we had an excellent time seeing Gino Vannelli in concert. I'm disabled and don't venture out much. Amber helped me get seated and even got an autographed picture of the artist! We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Amber and team!!

Yelp
Went to an awesome concert at the Bowl. Afterward, we headed over to the restrooms. No TP, No Seat Covers, No Paper Towels. Asked a gentleman to see if he could borrow some from his side. None of the above over there either. There was a line of about 7 ladies. All digging in their purses for something, anything. I'm aware there's several Porta Potties out there, but having wore a jumpsuit, I was not about to try the squat and hold all the material from touching the floor, and keep my sunglasses or purse from dropping in etc

Yelp
Went to see a concert here last night of a band I enjoy seeing from time to time. The setting is nice set deep in a park off the main road. We had tickets for seats in the third row and I don't recall if there was a difference in pricing between sections and the ground seats above or not but if I ever return here I certainly will buy the cheapest tickets because everyone and I mean everyone was allowed down to the front of the stage to congregate and dance. People pushed through to our seats and rows so having a ticket and maybe even paying a premium price for better seats is absolutely pointless here. As with other venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, there are staff and ushers and security to ensure crowd control. Not here at all. You can bring whatever you want inside including a sack filled with drinks although they have a 'bar' inside that serves you totally overpriced drinks inside (ie $14 for a 8 oz canned drink!). Sound was good but we left early bc it got to be too much w the people crowding down all concert. Parking was easy on the streets and adjoining parking lots.

Yelp
My friends and I went here a concert and I loved the place. A very cool, open-air venue with great acoustics to boot. Parking can be challenging and the music has a hard stop at 10pm for to its proximity to houses. The spinning park is also very nice and if your don't have a ticket to the show, you can relax outside of the gate and still hear the music perfectly. The people who work here are very nice and helpful. The one drawback would be the lack of restrooms which require a walk to the park to use an Andy Gump. Parking is also a challenge, you have to get lucky and find street parking nearby.

Yelp
Very nice outdoor venue for an under-the-stars concert experience. The acoustics and visibility excellent and the seating is well placed, spaced and comfortable. Enjoyed a fabulous concert there last night, and the Bowl's upcoming schedule is impressive. However, there's no dedicated parking, so arrive early or risk driving around in circles looking for somewhere to park in the busiest part of town. That, coupled with the inconvenience of not accepting credit cards for food and drink purchases (what, not even Square, anyone?), and directing patrons to an ATM at another business somewhere back out of the park and across the street, results in a one-star deduction.

Yelp
This is a sweet little concert venue I wish I had discovered decades ago. The feel is intimate and the setting is in a beautiful park.

Yelp
Excellent venue, beautiful outdoors under huge trees. Checkin for concert is fast and efficient. Nice dance floor in front. Friendly, gracious crowd. Really enjoyed our night out!

Yelp
I read in numerous reviews about people saying there is no crowd control here, and that people can go wherever they want, SO... I was concerned. BUT... I am happy to say that Canyon Club must have heard because we were just there last week for a concert and the front area was caution taped off with cones so no one's view was blocked etc. our concert was also put on by Canyon Club. The restrooms were ok, definitely a very long line at intermission. We came early and were able to eat nearby the park and then walk over to the concert later. The seats were clean and there was a sun shade fabric above which helped greatly, would have helped to have some fans blowing the air a bit as it was very hot out even into the evening. We were able to buy cold canned beer and/or cocktails during the concert. It appeared some people bring a chair and sit outside of the bowl, on the grass in the park area and listen from there, but no harm in that.

Yelp
Lyle Lovett was a great night out with good music. Libby Bowl doesn't have a bad seat. Best legroom ever for a venue.

Yelp
I bought two tickets in April for the Jefferson Starship concert on October 2, 2021. I bought them through StubHub. When it came time for the concert, I tried getting my tickets through the website and then by phone spending two hours on hold. I never got through to anyone to get my tickets and missed the concert. I have written to StubHub and got no reply. My StubHub experience was horrible and I would not recommend anyone buy tickets from them.

Yelp
I've always loved the acoustics at this open air venue. Beautiful setting for the many great events and performances that they frequently host. Located in the back of Libbey Park...very nice.

Yelp
Five star venue, but .... Aside from how this venue is managed, it is a great place to see a concert. Small and intimate amphitheater located in a community park. Free and easily accessible parking. Unfortunately, there is absolutely NO crowd control. Ushers are there, but they are hard top find and don't really do anything. For a show last night, I paid a premium for seats in the first few rows, center section. There is an open area in front of the stage and people crammed in there like a mash pit. That meant anyone in those first few seat rows had an obstructed view and had to stand throughout the show if they wanted to see the stage (like me!), assuming they could see over the people standing in front of them. It sucked to have paid a premium for seats when I could have bought the lowest price ticket and been up front. People also stand in the aisles making it very hard to leave your seats and come back. The Libbey Bowl is rented out to concert promoters and not run by the park or by the city of Ojai. The current set-up is a disaster waiting to happen and a potential liability for this community. They should fix this problem.

Yelp
This place has the best location to watch a show...it is near a park and you have plenty to do around the area. Watched Collin Hay and he put on an AMAZING show! Would come back again!

Yelp
Eric Burdon/Dishwalla show...great place for a show. Very small venue so not a bad seat. The seats themselves are very comfortable. Lots of nice trees and grassy areas to hang out. Beer and food vendors were reasonable and tasty. Acoustics were good. Pleanty of room if you want to get up and dance infront of the stage. A few negatives... porta potties... that you keep having to go in/out of venue... each time...really??? Then don't serve beer. Second negative is that if you are left of stage one of the sides (facing tennis courts) has no exit, so you have to climb through alot of people. Not sure if this is also true right of stage? Most people climb over the rail, but watching older people do this, ahhh ...didn't seem safe...and a design flaw. Overall a nice place for a show.

Yelp
There's good news and bad news with this place folks. The bad news is there is absolutely NO, I repeat NO crowd control. I went to see DSB (a Journey tribute band) and Queen Nation (a Queen tribute band) last weekend and the entire event was ruined for me because the powers that be let a bunch of inconsiderate people that paid nowhere near what we paid rush the stage. We paid top dollar to sit down front... and I kid you not, there was a mosh pit 10-15 people deep in front of the stage. They have these tables set up down front (I assume for VIP's) and these people were just swallowed up by the throng of thoughtless "people" that just poured down from the cheap seats. If you had our expensive seats down front, you couldn't see a thing - Even if you were up a little ways, it was hard to see or watch the show. We actually got up and left early it was so bad. This was a total shock because we had seen Which One's Pink (Pink Floyd tribute band) and it was great. As far as I could see there was ONE usher on each side of the stage. I watched the usher on our side of the stage try to push the crowd back and these jerks just ignored him completely! I felt like asking them if they thought it was fair to those of us that paid for an assigned seat to be totally shut out of the show by them... but I would have been wasting my time. These people were completely out of control. Until they have BIG bouncers down at the front of each isle checking ticket stubs don't bother attending a show here - it's absolutely horrible! The GOOD news is it's a very cool venue. It's just a shame they don't provide a good entertainment experience. Don't waste your time & money here... It's HORRIBLE!!

Sue W.

Yelp
Great venue. However, a fourth grader must be running this site. The site's survey does not work online. When you call to get tickets, the messages are full. They do not post the hours for the box office. Ojai can do better. Hire some management that can operate this place successfully. This has potential to really bring Ojai some revenue but it sorely lacks direction. They do not even promote the shows locally. Get it together, people. If you would advertise, the shows would sell out. When I tell people about the shows I have seen here, they always say, "I wish I would have known they were playing there. I would have gone!" Also the food sucks. Get some decent food in there. Hot dogs and potato chips are about the only thing they offer. Some people are vegetarians. If you sell huge beers like you do, you should offer food to go with it. Whoever is running the shows, I hope you read this.

Yelp
This was a cool little spot! Not too far from where we live and made for a very relaxing and pleasant weekend. Came up to see Robby Kreiger and Eric Burdon showed up! It was awesome :)

Yelp
I believed in Pixies and that all small concert venues were great. Pixies do still exist but my opinion of small concert venues has shrunk to the size of a midget Pixie. Toad the Wet Sprocket brought my family out to Ojai for a day of exploration and a night of reminiscing with one of my all time favorite bands. The only reason I'm gifting two stars to this place is because of Toad and the close up seating that I scored. I was under the impression that a town like Ojai would be providing a cultured, well behaved crowd. Instead, the venue was full of drunk, loud and obnoxious people. It appears that Ojai is the destination for alcoholics and some of the worst dancers in the world. The folks that supervised the show were either drunk themselves or they simply didn't care about doing their job. Drunks danced like zombies and clogged up the isle ways but the even more obnoxious thing was the talking: the loud chatter of drunks that at times over powered Toad to a faint whisper. Any other venue worth supporting would have sat those zombies down and shut the chipmunks up. Sorry Toad, I've grown up now and not even you will bring me out to never never land!

Yelp
Went to see Dave Mason last night after planning this concert the moment the tickets went on sale so I could get the best seats possible. We were a group of 8 in the third row right of the stage. The last four seats were obstructed although they were not sold that way. Half way through the concert there was a large group that decided to dance where three of my guests were seated. We had asked them to move repeatedly. I don't know why they felt it necessary to dance in front of everyone since there was a grassy area up top where they wouldn't bother anyone. We asked the Libbey Bowl personnel and they could have cared less. Seeing Dave Mason was important to us while the dancers could care less about him and talked to each other when Dave was talking. I will never waste my money or time attending another event at the Libbey Bowl.

Annemarie M.

Yelp
The Libby Bowl is a great venue to see a concert. The acoustics are fantastic! Not a bad seat in the house. I sat in row z and center and had no desire to move close due to the perfect view. My only complaint is that a beer cost $14.00 and a very small glass of wine was $10.00 ...Please really? Aside from the inflated cost of beverages I did not appreciate the long haired goof blocking me and demanding to see my ticket. This person was extremely rude and forceful. As it tuned out one of the other ushers said he did not even work there. So why was this guy allowed to harass concert goers ? Lastly, I could barely hear Colin Hay tell his great stories and jokes due to another concert going on at the Art Center.

Tom L.

Yelp
I saw Colin Hay with my girlfriend and her sister. We love Colin, he always puts on a great show. On the down side, there was a lame long haired guy who appeared to be an employee who rudely accosted us when we tried to return to our seats. I complained and was told that he didn't work there. What about charging $14.00 a beer? Give me a break. One last thing. Why was loud music being played at the Art Center during Colin's show?

Frances P.

Yelp
Lovely small venue. No problem parking on side streets if you come early enough. Little hike to the ladies room but no big deal. Saw Wilson Phillips on the 15th, great fun. They had trouble with one microphone but it wasn't effecting the show, in fact Carnie Wilson was very funny dealing with it. The security was great, no problems seeing. I would go again in a heartbeat.

Tj L.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! I saw Al Stewart here a few months ago and it was amazing! It was far from sold out but that was fine with me. The sound is great and seating was plentiful and comfortable. The one thing I hated {and the reason for 3 stars} was the employees let the people from the GA grass section in the back come into the seating area in front without playing an upgrade price. That's BS for the people who paid much much more for good seats. That should have never happened. I asked some of the employees if that was a standard policy and all said yes. It happens all the time they said. I will never pay for front section seats at the Libbey Bowl again. Even better I'll get Goldstar tickets {because the employees told me to go on Goldstar and get lawn tickets} for GA knowing that there will be a great possibility of moving up into front seats the night of the show. NEVER pay full price at the Libbey Bowl EVER!

Jay P.

Yelp
Just saw The Zombies last night, that olde school British invasion band from the sixties, incredible. The acoustics are fantastic . If you like an act, and they are playing at the Libbey, do your best to get tickets. Libbey has the same feeling as the Greek or the Santa Barbara Bowl, but even smaller and more intimate without the big crowds and the parking hassles. Because the venue is so small, the band was feeding off the energy of the crowd. Libbey is one of my favorite So Cal venues. Many nice restaurants in downtown Ojai which is just within walking distance.

Yelp
My friends and I have never been to Ojai so the free concert at the Libbey Bowl gave us a good reason to visit Ojai yesterday. Due to car problem, we arrived at Ojai much later than anticipated and we were very anxious to go to the Bowl to grasp good seats for the concert. I exchanged emails with the mgr of the Bowl, she told me that there are 900+ seats. There are not a lot of seats by LA standard especially for a great performance. To our surprised, the Bowl was only 20% filled last night. It is truly hard to understand why didn't people in the city attend the free concert when there didn't seem much to do in the city. The Air Force Guards musicians worked hard to share their music with the community, it was really a shame with such a low turn out, perhaps, the city should make more effort to promote the events outside of the city , if people in the city are not interested, they should attract visitors from LA or Ventura County to attend the concerts . These visitors will spend $ in the city. It will be a win win situation. I have a great impression of Ojai even before i got there. The Bowl mgr was so patient in answering my emails. We don't normally get that kind of service in LA. The parking is free in Downtown Ojai, that is another plus for the city folks.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Granted, I'm a fan of outdoor music venues, but this place is adorable. Since it's not that big, going to a show here pretty much guarantees an intimate experience. It was recently remodeled, so the seats are very clean and reasonably comfortable for the ~2.5-hour performance we saw there. Surrounded by trees and with stars above, it is very serene and picturesque. There is an open space up front where people can stand/dance if they want, as well as a grassy area in the back of the chairs where blankets can be laid.
