Libertad strikes a rare balance between refinement and warmth.
The meal began with a Negroni and a thoughtful amuse-bouche: a silky whipped spread with a crisp tostada and three sauces, the spiciest of which kept drawing me back. A small but memorable opening.
The room felt warm and comfortable, and the service was genuinely welcoming and intuitive. As a solo diner, the table was subtly reset, the staff asked for my name, and pacing felt natural without over-explaining. Even the pour and refill of my glass felt deliberate and considerate.
The blue fin tuna arrived first, and the first bite with the red jalapeño ponzu was the standout of the meal — pristine fish paired with a dark, umami-forward sauce balanced by citrus and gentle heat. Clean and composed.
The rib-eye tacos followed, rich and deeply satisfying, complemented by the cheese crust. By the end they were decidedly filling, but still delicious and well-executed.
Libertad doesn’t try to impress loudly; it simply executes. I would definitely return.
