The Newest Restaurants In Philadelphia

"The crowd at Independence Mall now has a place to drink beer while comparing pictures of the Liberty Bell. The beer garden will only serve wine and beer from Pennsylvania wineries and breweries, and it has a partnership with Mainstay Independent Brewing. It's located just a few blocks from its sister space, Liberty Point in Old City." - candis mclean, alison kessler

My girlfriend and I love it here. The atmosphere is truly very chill. Happy hour is good and the food is pretty good. We weren’t fans of the hot dogs, but everything else we’ve had here was great. The drinks are always great as well. You can sit in or order to go. You just can’t order alcohol to go you have to drink that within the garden. I will say though, whatever Spotify channel or whoever’s phone is on aux, has some strange music taste. Really all over the place.

The frozen margarita was awful. I just missed happy hour so I paid $13 for a terrible drink that I didn't finish. There is lots of shaded seating and it's a nice open space. There are restrooms but I didn't check them out.

Stopped by Sunday afternoon after celebrating July 4th for the first time in Philly. Quiet but cute spot to grab drinks before dinner!

The food was incredibly disappointing. Both sandwiches and the kids' meal were excessively salty and had a strong, unpleasant fried fish taste.

I had the opportunity to experience this beer garden with some family and friends when we had some time to kill when here for a conference near by.Liberty Garden is at Independence National Historical Park across the park from the Visitor center. We had a few drinks here after a short walk to get here. We sat at some tables in this shaded outdoor beer garden. The shade was very nice when we were here cause it was a very warm summer day. It also wasn’t too busy at the time so there was lots of space and everyone was spread out making it relaxing and easy to have a conversation. It is also a great place to people watch. It also has other alcoholic drinks and nonalcoholic drinks here as well as toilets. We all enjoyed our time together and relaxing with a few drinks here.

This might be the best kept secret beer garden in Philly right now. Right on the Constitution Center mall, with great views and comfortable space. We brought our young kids who enjoyed the music while we were able to enjoy a beer. Courtney and John were incredibly hospitable and provided excellent service. We look forward to coming back over the summer!

The service was excellent - until we had the misfortune of dealing with Josh. Josh’s attitude single-handedly turned an otherwise great afternoon at Liberty Garden into something cold and unwelcoming. Despite the fact that we had been enjoying happy hour for hours and ordering without issue, when my girlfriend went to get drinks without me, Josh immediately and aggressively questioned her ability to pay. Her phone had died, so she couldn’t use Apple Wallet - she apologized and told him I would be right out to pay. Instead of taking that at face value, he demanded the exact name of who would be paying, in a dismissive, condescending tone. This was especially insulting considering we had been ordering together the entire day without incident. The drinks and location were outstanding, but if I saw Josh behind the bar again, I’d take my business elsewhere.

Setting very nice. The rest is a tourist trap. Prices are crazy with multiple hidden charges. We had 2 poor quality hot dogs for a total of $34! The menu at the counter says $10 each. But you can only order off a QR code from your table, and must pay by credit card. Once seater, using the QR menu, the price is $13/hot dog. Then credit card fee of +$1. Then mandatory gratuity. 20%. I don’t mind tipping for a restaurant server, BUT the customer has to get up and go to a service bar to get their own water, silverware, condiments, etc. The “server” does nothing more than walk out your food to the table. You never see him again. This is after you are required to first order (and pay) for your drinks at the bar-separate cost, separate tip. If you are required to order your drinks at the counter, there is no reason to not just order your food at the same time. Whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths, literally and figuratively, for the rest of our afternoon in Philly!

I love that this place is dog friendly. They ever brough over bowl of water for my dog. The staff were super nice and friendly. Everything is outside. The area is super clean. The food was amazing. Nothing bad to say at all. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
This is a cute nice little hidden gem. The shaded tree coverage is a nice break from an area that's mostly wide open. It's got local beer. The flatbread was good. I'd def check it out again and enjoy some time in a hammock.

Yelp
Went to Happy Hour here recently with a few co-workers and really enjoyed it. We were lucky enough to get seats in a shaded area. The drinks were ordered at the bar and served immediately, and the food came out quick and was delivered directly to your table. I ordered the Hibiscus Lemonade, Half Margherita Flatbread, Pretzel Nuggets with Pimento Cheese, and Meatball Slider off the HH menu. Everything was really good, and I would highly recommend giving this pop-up a shot.
