Liberty Inn is located in a string of motels along the Whitehorse Pike, otherwise known as Route 30. Upon arriving, the motel looked rundown and the foliage and the grass needed trimmed and cut. On a positive note, The room was fairly large. There was extra storage space for your items. Unfortunately, some of the doors on this large "wardrobe" were broken. It was unattractive and non-functional. There was also a pull-out bed for extra guests. But it was tucked away in the corner of the room, and wouldn't fold out all the way. You would have to move the heavy king sized bed over. I suppose everything was just too cluttered. Management should have given us a nicer room. Also, the room could’ve been cleaned throughly. But, maybe I'm thinking of my standards. What I found a bit awkward was the sink. There was a shower and a toilet in the bathroom, but no sink? I finally located the sink in the middle of the room, in- between the bathroom and refrigerator. I’m used to everything being in the bathroom. It was odd. I will say the Management and Staff were friendly. They were very helpful and if we needed something, they accommodated us. So apart from a few aesthetics, the week's stay was decent.
I enjoy writing reviews and a good percentage of them are positive. I wouldn’t even care as much about the problems, if the rates weren’t so high. It was off-season during the middle of the week. I have stayed at many other motels along the WHP, and Liberty Inn was much pricier than I’ve ever paid for a week’s stay. They could do better and possibly get decent, repeat business. FYI: I will say the location is great. The motel is centrally located around grocery stores, a couple liquor stores and shopping centers. The historic town of Smithville is nearby. See my review on Smithville. Despite some issues, we made the best of it and had a great time. At the very least, I’ll have some good memories of Liberty Inn located in Galloway, New Jersey.
